this is the thing about acceptance,
my mother “accepts” me as queer, but she still says “when you get married to a man”, “your future husband”, “when you get a boyfriend” etc.
my mother “accepts” me as part of the LGBTQIA community, but she doesn’t let me go to pride parades because they’re “violent”.
my mother “accepts” me, but she never acknowledges my sexuality.
my mother “accepts” me, but she never objects to my family’s homophobia/transphobia.
my mother “accepts” me, but tells me not to label myself.
my mother “accepts” me, but shows her distaste for anything gay that i watch.
saying you accept someone isn’t enough.

to everyone who feels so emotionally exhausted that they burst into tears at the slightest inconvenience, that they feel like no one understands what they’re going through, that they block everyone out,,, same

i’ve seen far too many bad coming out stories on here, so i’m going to tell everyone about my experience with my aunt.
i’m a trans boy, and i’ve recently come out to my aunt, because she’s the most accepting in my family. instead of saying it was a phase or saying i’d always be her niece, like i’ve seen in some other coming out stories, she asked for my preferred name and pronouns, and started calling me by my preferred name as soon as she knew it. she also thanked me for telling her and promised not to tell anyone else.
she’s sent me two links to groups focused on supporting transgender youth so far, and told me about a group that meets in my area. we went for a drive yesterday and she told me we could talk as little or as much as i wanted. i ended up telling her about my body dysphoria and why i didn’t want to come out to the rest of the family. we even touched on my eating disorder, which my mother refuses to believe i have. we talked about how it’s been so far for me being queer, and about the homophobia and transphobia of some of our family.
my point is, not every coming out experience has to be negative, many are positive. when i was safe in my closet and looking at coming out stories, i only saw negative stories, which only doubled my fear. so please, please, share your positive coming out stories on your blog or reblog this with positive stories.

does anyone actually know the official name for the hairstyle that is most common in pretty, grunge femboys that like to brush their curtains out of their face but ultimately let them drop again into a curly, fluffy mess of beauty?
because i can’t walk into a hairdressers and say “i’d like the gay cut, please”

when you have no money but a gift card to amazon, low self control and transphobic parents who won't understand why their cisgender baby girl wants a binder, so you go to order off amazon, but see this post and lose all hope entirely
trans friends— this has been circulating a lot on the internet already but PLEASE stop ordering from gc2b. their quality has massively declined, they send the wrong size binders correctly marked, the stitching is extremely poor and rips often times when first putting it on. do not waste your money on them!
