How to whiten your teeth at home?
Teeth would start to get yellow with age, but many things are available to do that can help you slow down the process and even reverse it. Usually, teeth whitening kits are commonly available at all pharmacies, and many natural home remedies can assist in removing stains and securing the tooth enamel.
How to whiten teeth naturally?
Baking soda can assist you in whitening teeth which are yellowed. The following actions can help you to whiten teeth -
 1.      Making dietary changes:
Reducing foods can decrease further staining. Foods & drinks which contain tannins like wine & tea can stain the teeth. Coffee & juices might also stain their teeth. Acidic foods can also make the teeth yellow by taking down the enamel. People who think about the color of their teeth and are concerned with the teeth’ color should avoid the intake of citrus, coffee & soda. People should always brush their teeth after having these foods & beverages. Dentists generally suggest people wait 30 minutes after brushing their teeth. Acids may weaken the enamel, so brushing soon can cause damage. Stoppage of smoking or tobacco products can decrease the risk of nicotine stains. It can also reduce tooth decay & gum disease, both of which can affect the enamel and cause oral health issues. There are some home teeth whitening kits which you can try out as well.
 2. Trying oil pulling
Oil pulling is known to be the term for washing the mouth with oil to remove dirt, bacteria & debris. It cannot substitute for daily brushing or flossing, and some research indicates that washing the mouth with specific oils can help whiten the teeth. To give this method a try, rinse your mouth with oil for a while after brushing and then spit it out. Oils suitable for oil pulling are listed below:
● Coconut oil
● Sunflower oil
● Sesame oil
3. Brushing with baking soda
Baking soda can help in gently polishing the stains away from the surface of the teeth. Some people are concerned that baking soda is harsh and might grind away the enamel, but some studies from 2017 suggest that it is a safer way to remove stains. It can also help fight bacteria and might be able to decrease plaque and prevent tooth decay.
4. Using hydrogen peroxide
Hydrogen peroxide is known to be mild bleach that can assist in whitening stained teeth. For whitening of teeth, a person can try to brush with baking soda & hydrogen peroxide for 1-2 minutes twice a day for a single week. It would help if you tried this out occasionally. Hydrogen peroxide might increase tooth sensitivity, and it is not recommended for people who have sensitive teeth.
5. Whitening with fruit
Papaya consists of an enzyme that can help whiten the teeth. Papain & Bromelain are known to be enzymes that assist in whitening the teeth. Some methods include teeth whitening strips which help in whitening teeth easily.
