Calling this done for now, though I'd still like to add the crown necklace in some day. Probably after (if) I finish the other shots in this scene. But hey, one down.
What's next?
The shot of Riku leaning on the tree is next on the list, but it'll take longer. You've seen the news. There's a genocide unfolding in Gaza, in the West Bank, in a number of places around the world, and the united effort of people's struggles pushing forward into public awareness has shifted my priorities, to say the least.
The time I have to make online art has shrunk. And within that time, animation is taking a backseat to things like sourcing printer ink & website hosts that don't financially contribute to any companies on the BDS list. The struggle is ongoing & it takes precedence, so that's where my focus is these days.
Hope today's update brings some joy. Sending love your way.
went ahead with the Sora closeup and finished the rough animation pass! rotating anime hair in 3D space can get real demoralizing... breakin it down into chunks goes a long way.
I'd heard about inprnt shipping times bein slow but everything got here in just over a week!
the small & medium ones came together in the flat mailer in a cardboard sandwich- very secure. since it had 50+ USD value it got hit by customs fees crossing the border to me. maybe don't buy the whole shop if you're outside the US.
big print came in the tube (no fees) and it is beeyootiful.
inprnt's known for their quality but i can confirm: true to colour, crystal clear, nice heft.
wasn't sure how I'd feel about the itty bitty 4x5s (with the white border it's more like 3x4) but the detail's all quite legible. they're real cute!
the mediums are all about 6x8 and look exactly how I thought they ought to while I was painting them.
the big one came in at a whopping 15x22 inches and I'm completely pleased with how the detail scales. got the whole gang together to celebrate.
all in all, quite a success! and so... doors are now open 🎉
success!! so big & beautiful! the tests came out great.
will be launching on inprnt 2mrw, soon as the rest of my shit has been gathered
armed with my post-treasure-huntin' printing knowledge (future tutorial subject?) i been rebalancing the colours on this piece for print. bout to order a big one from inprnt as a test before opening orders publicly.
folks who've been waiting for this one, your time is coming 🔜
it's my birthday today! ✨✨✨
i'm making a timeloop rpg with ✊✋✌️ gameplay called In Stars and Time, which will come out this year!!!
if you felt like it, it would be lovely if you wishlisted it on Steam, or told your friends about it :>
as you can guess, indie games in general thrive on word of mouth, so if you took the time to tell even one of your friends about it, or rebblogged this post, that's word of mouth baby!!! thank you :>
very cool of you to offer- I don't have the bandwidth to manage extra hands on deck for the time being (plus I'm hoping to use the shot I'm workin on rn as a reel piece, fingers crossed) but would love to take the opportunity to boost @kh-multi-ani-pro who's organizing everyone that wants to bring Kearsley's pilot to life. realize your passion!!
‘Sappy But Sweet’ progress update #2.
now that everything's blocked in, I'm planning to pick just one shot to focus on. potentially as a test to see how feasible it'll be to do more, or else as the only shot that gets fully animated. we shall see...

My standard approach to those wee lil buckles on Sora's KH2 costume. I been drawing the little shits for 15 years and this way's by far the best looking for the least effort.
As usual this is drawn in Clip Studio Paint, but oughta work in any software that can add outlines to a layer (or hey, maybe you paint without lines).
