am i really debating buying the sanrio amiibos just for the furniture because i know i won’t have the heart to kick out any of my villagers

the sanrio amiibos are adorable BUT they're only available in america so for all my non-american gay people, heres how to make an amiibo using only your phone!

step 1 - download the app joy-con droid

this is definetely available on Androids with NFC communication however it might not be available on apple im sorry, and is an app that can substitute a joycon controller, and can connect to your switch or switch lite in the way an external controller would via bluetooth.

step 2 - find the .bin file of the amiibo

this is quite easy; just download this .zip file of a bunch of amiibos, and extract it into a normal file so you can find it later (I've done it before and it's a completely safe file with no viruses).

step 3 -load the .bin file onto joy-con droid

to do this, open the app then go to the side bar > settings > enable NFC (it works flawlessly) > select NFC binary path > downloads > amiibo bin dump v4 > amiibo bin dump > animal crossing > cards > animal crossing x sanrio series, then pick the character you want to load into the game.

step 4 - connect your phone to your switch

to do this, first go onto the app and press pro-controller, press never again on the bluetooth mac address, and allow it to turn on bluetooth. Then, open your switch home menu, press controllers > change grip order, and your phone should eventually show up, then press A. If it doesnt show up immediately, just press the l+r key on the phone screen. Once you're connected, press A and you should be able to use your phone as a fully functioning controller.

step 5 - sanrio time

use your phone controller to go to your ATM in-game, and invite amiibo. It should immediately read the amiibo file you have loaded in, and allow you to get those sweet sweet little guys :^)
