An evening with an expectation.

If I could indulge you

I would do it every second I could

Give you all the nutrients your body so craves

Just the same as everybody else’s

But I can’t.

Is my seed not developed?

Has it rotted? Not sprouted?

I don’t understand why I can’t fight the urges

“There’s nothing to fight: that’s the problem” I say,

So I buy one more product to force it to stay

It can’t run away, it’s not even hiding

Your skin aches for pleasure

But mine’s still deciding

Am I eating too much? Not eating enough?

Am I doing this right? Am I really grown up?

Sooner or later our bodies will find that we can’t keep on searching for something inside

You have one puzzle piece, I can’t even find mine,

It’s not fair for me to do this, I don’t just need time

Give me a new body

Give me a new brain

Give me a new haircut and maybe I’ll change

But for now as I look at you, I am overwhelmed with a sense of love and warmth

To hold you and cradle you and keep you and more

But within that more I search for the thing that you want and I cannot find it.

And I do not know why, and I can no longer hide it.

Desert island poetry.

I absorb the idea of this water,

I soak up every last one of its slippery spirals,

I thirst for it,

I want it to comfort my silence.

When the tide draws in I can hear it rushing through me,

This idea.

It’s cold and it stings my eyes but I am forever gulping at it,

The water is all I seem to know.

And I am terrified that I can no longer see the shore.

But now, as I lay, beached upon this thought that once was.

I am lost.

The water ran away from me, and I, from it.

“Great news!”, I think.

But soon I will be in need of a drink.

Ahhh I can’t tell if I want to go to a fancy bording school in fancy uniforms,find a partner and smeak out of our dorms at night to go sit on the docks near the school lake

Or live in a small cottage in the woods with my partner,no kids,2 frogs and one little bird that comes to the window everyday to get seeds,while me and my partner cuddle up together near our fireplace
