Give handmade gifts. Lughnasadh is about the first fruit of your efforts. Giving a gift you've worked hard on to a loved one is a perfect way to symbolize that, especially if it's part of a new skill.
Incorporate seasonal crops into your meal. Corn will probably be on sale, and you'll be able to find it in local farmers markets. Things like Bell peppers, tomatoes, and summer squashes should also be easier to find, on sale, and in season which means they taste better(eating in season is better for the environment).
Try to spend time outside. If you don't have a yard, commandeer a friends yard go to a local park. Have a meal outside with friends if you can.
Lughnasadh is the sports holiday. Yes, we have one of those. I was as surprised as you are. Try and organize some activity with your friends. Capture the flag is just as fun as an adult as it was as a kid. I particularly enjoy paintball because I have an evil streak. If a physical gathering is difficult, video games over a group chat is also a 100% legit way to celebrate.
Lughnasadh is one of the famous (or infamous) bread holidays! I would suggest zucchini bread. The zucchini will be in season, and it actually tastes good (like pumpkin bread). Not to dis on seed breads or anything but I don't like them.
A lovely nature witch emerging from a magical wood. She's been gathering herbs since before dawn and now she gets to enjoy a rosy dawn as the mist lifts! Look for her little mouse companion!
This type of candle is very fragrant, burns without a wick, because the candle is a mixture of dry herbs and beeswax. DIY candles are preferable for a witch, because they get the spell energy in the process of making them.
To make a candle you'll need 2 oz. beeswax and one tablespoon of dried herbs. Cut the herbs into small, but not fine pieces. Melt the wax in a microwave. Make a cone mold of thick paper or/and foil. Put a little bit of herbs in the cone, pour a little bit of wax. Then again, herbs and wax. Stir them with a tooth pick. Continue to the top. Let it cool down completely. If the wax drops from the bottom of the cone, put the end in a cup with very cold water to solidify.
Another way to do it is to warm the beeswax on a heater, so it becomes moldable. Press it by your hands into a "pancake" and mix the dried herbs into it. Form a cone. Make a hole on top with a stick and put more herbs into it. Roll the candle in dried herbs. The candle may take a little bit of time to flame up.
Best performed under waning moon🌒 (As most releasing spells are)
Write down every negative thing you think about yourself that's stopping you from being your best self. Light a candle and hold the paper close enough that it slowly burns, not fully in flames. As you watch the fire burn away all your negative thoughts slowly, say the opposite of whatever you've written out loud ("I am worthy", "I am beautiful", "I am capable of that job I'm applying for", etc).
Better if you perform this spell outside or with the window open. Watch as the ashes disperse and fly away and similarly let go of the negative thoughts holding you back. Repeat as many days as needed to fully affirm yourself that you're a wonderful human❤️🌠
