31-year-old Lila shows up at Agreste Fashions asking to be let in because she’s Monsieur Agreste’s wife.

Two problems:

1. They kept the name for continuity, but Agreste Fashions is named for Madame Agreste. Who, outside of professional settings, uses her maiden name, Dupain-Cheng.

2. There is no Monsieur Agreste. Adrien also uses Dupain-Cheng, both personally and professionally (which is also for continuity, since it means Tom and Sabine have less to explain when they say that the bakery is a family business).

Anyway the receptionist, who’s been warned about this, decides to make Lila wait in the waiting room and see how long it takes for her to get fed up and leave

Worldbuilding idea: Different cultures with climate overlap should have different cultural associations to the same animals. Like one culture looks at a specific kind of a migratory bird like "these birds are the divine messengers of the Gods, they are more intelligent than humans, as they have souls like we do but they are free of sin. They only visit us in the summer because they spend the winter in Heaven :)"

And on the other end of the birds' range the people are like "these feathered little bastards are too smart for their own good, can and will eat your trash. Some say they taste great when fried with scallions, but I wouldn't eat them after seeing what they eat. They always disappear for rainy season - nobody knows where they go but at least they are gone."

I don't think I've seen anybody talk about how absolutely insane The Boiling Rock is from Hakoda's perspective.

Imagine getting captured, and your son tells you that you won't be apart for too long. That's sweet, but obviously your son has no resources to spare for organizing a breakout. You hope that the Avatar can defeat the Fire Lord soon - that's the earliest time you could hope to be rescued.

You get put into a temporary holding facility until the guards can sort out who is who. After a while, they put you on a prisoner transport to the Boiling Rock. Your captors try to intimidate you by telling you that it's the highest security prison in the Fire Nation, probably the whole world. It's far away from the capital.

You arrive at the Boiling Rock. It really is in the middle of a boiling lake. There's only one way in or out, and it's a gondola that takes you above the boiling lake. You meet the warden. They take you to your cell. You settle down to wait for the end of the war.

And 15 minutes later Sokka comes in like "hey dad I'm here I got the prince of the Fire Nation and an Earth Kingdom ninja leader gf ok let's go I'm busting you out"

here's something stupid: the catcatfish

some quick facts:

they're nocturnal and tend to roam around while awake.

they have keen senses of smell and hearing, but terrible eyesight. despite this, they also have a tapetum lucidum, making their pupils "glow" in the dark.

their fur is short, dense, and oily to waterproof them.

they prefer a diet of mostly meat and are attracted to strong-smelling food like fish, cheese, and anything fermented.

the elongated dewclaw on each front paw is sharp, flexible, and nonretractable. it injects a venom that causes respiratory failure and cardiac arrest in prey and, in extreme doses, humans. veterenarians typically remove the dewclaw venom glands during the neuter/spay procedure.

they grow to an average of 1m and 23kg (3ft and 50lb) but can reach up to double that length and triple the weight!

I'm reading this book about the history of cats, which starts in prehistory just to be thorough. And it mentions ancient Natufian culture, whose archeological sites have included enough remains of butchered foxes to conclude that they were eaten somewhat regularly. They never ended up becoming domesticated like cats were, but there's a theory that originally, when Natufian people settled down and started to store grains and accumulate garbage heaps, rats and mice showed up like
