Galapagos stood rather stiffly, her tail so nervously swaying across the ground from side to side. At least this guy--kid?? He was short. She was short, but he was short too--didn't seem to suspect anything more than maybe just someone being there at the wrong time.

Well. She had her gun too. But that was hanging on her back, the fluff of her hair hiding it. It was easy to hide things in fluff that might as well be wool--minus the roughness, all the fluff!!

when galapagos gets attached to someone, or trusts someone, that trust is never broken--at least not on her part. she would do anything to protect her friends--those that might as well be her new family. she has already lost so much--she lost her family, her village, the entire anyagi tribe--she doesn't want to lost anymore people. she wants to be happy, she wants those around her to be happy, and even if she's still young--still small--she will do all she can in her state to protect who she has been accepted by.

on that death trap post. it also can be completely stated that hoarfrost is literally a mass grave. for both anyagi and the plants and other life that used to live there. when the anyagi died out, everything died with them. they were the things that made the plants grow, otherwise the freezing cold winters of hoarfrost would kill or force into dormant all flora and fauna.

everytime i think of the anyagi i'm left with this thought process of wow the goats really did live in a death trap. it is a death trap on all sides and their biology prevents them from even permanently leaving it. i've mentioned that anyagi have an issue, where they can leave hoarfrost but they always have to return after so many years, or their bodies will start to rot. this is why no anyagi outside of hoarfrost ever survived, even after the massacres. this is also why the anyagi that were trapped and enslaved got extremely sick. yet the island itself is a death trap for those entering, those trying to get out, and even the anyagi to an extent. they can swim, they can run, they can dig, but in the end they always must return to that island. they will be born into and die into the grave of hoarfrost.

  Not exactly.       The anyagi’s parents(nor the community) wouldn’t usually be the ones to tell the kids scary stories. Being an anyagi and living on Hoarfrost was quite enough to hear something or witness something that would be scary enough. Either from plants or elder trees being the ones to tell the young to be careful, or to accidentally slip into a trap laid out by hunters that managed to plant it on Hoarfrost. There was no need to tell scary stories, not even when anyagi first emerged. The environment around them would make sure they were careful, or face the consequences if they didn’t.

      Generally, all anyagi know about the stories of the past, some more horrific than others. Elder trees of Hoarfrost that have been around since they were sproutlings and never cut down hold the knowledge of many millennia, and they do not go silent just because an infant is around.

#character study ;; galapagos #it's a learning experience #the anyagi really don't tell scary stories; it's the plants around them that do #and there are still traps laid out from slavers; anyagi hunters; and even some old traps from the long arms #It's also not uncommon for foreigners to tell stories of wars or battles happening outside of Hoarfrost #nothing is stopping little anyagi from listening in #<- Original Tags

pirates like Shanks' crew(at least what's shown at the beginning of the series) are what she expected from the word 'pirates.'

galapagos doesn't consider herself a pirate. she doesn't think pirates are necessarily bad...there are definitely ones that ARE bad...but she tries not to completely judge. before she went into hibernation, pirates weren't so much of an issue. the ones that were around resembled more of just travelers, occasional thefts and ravagers...but nothing huge, not to the extent that they are now. pirates that reached hoarfrost were rewarded, as most of them died either from the sea kings, the freezing seas, or the blizzards. galapagos really didn't know what to expect when she heard "great age of pirates" because pirates were just kinda some rogue sailors.
