New Tags & Spoiler Warnings

To respect everyone (myself included!) who wants to avoid spoilers, I will be adding the tag the star seekers spoilers to all posts that involve content from the Webtoon and Wattpad stories, at the very least until they have concluded.

For organizational purposes and because they lack distinctive titles, I will also use the tags the star seekers webtoon and the star seekers wattpad. Please add one or any combination of these tags to your filters as needed to avoid spoilers!

something I just noticed in the newest Making Film: during his photoshoot, Taehyun is holding two different versions of the spellbook. One looks newer, with clean, shiny corner pieces and a fully grey main symbol with no star in the center. The second has old, worn looking leather with duller corner pieces and the main symbol is both grey and black, almost like it’s been scorched or been used as an ink stamp. And this one has the star in the center.

I had the same thought initially, but in watching it back again (and a few more times since you sent this), I think it is the same spellbook prop. One of the shots is a lower resolution than the others (00:05-00:07 in his solo video), but the central star is visible at the very end when he angles the book and the light hits it differently.

A while back I bought The Chaos Chapter: Fight Or Escape album and there are stickers of the boys in it. The shape of each sticker is different, and as I was showing my friend everything I got with the album, I realized.....wait.......the shape of each sticker corresponds to the light shapes in the introduction films. The detail and follow-through is incredible! Kudos to the marketing/design team. Also, sorry if this sent twice. There was an error the first time

Thank you for sharing this! A good reminder to me that I need to pay better attention to the miscellaneous album paraphernalia... I didn't notice the bear in the Tale of the Magic Island sticker sheet until a friend pointed it out too. I really appreciate the continuity and thoughtfulness of these little details/external references in their album productions. ♡

Do you think we’re supposed to view Soule, Eugene, Viken, Taho, & Avys as the characters’ idol names? Or their birth names? Currently I’m viewing them as their stage names but I have no idea if they’re going to clarify that or not. Since it’s an alternative world where Magic is real and well known, I can’t say it doesn’t make sense for those to be their real names since perhaps Magic influenced how names evolved through time. But since they’re idols….it makes me wonder.

I honestly don't have an opinion on this and am similarly just waiting to see if the name situation will be clarified further within the story. I'm not sure why they waited until the last set of individual concept photos to reveal the names, either. Stage names seems like a possibility. In the Magic Island MV, their text conversation uses their Korean names, which also appear in full on their uniform name tags. But it may turn out that Hybe decided to revise their names—for marketing and/or disambiguation purposes (since using the members' real names for the characters did have the potential to cause confusion for BTS Universe). We'll just have to wait and see!

It kills me that the opening verse of Nap of a Star and the chorus of Can’t You See Me are parallels,, like I know that Can’t You See Me is an external reference but,,, even outside thinking about the Star Seekers. Kills me dead

💔 I am with you, and I feel exactly the same about all the Star Seekers references sprinkled throughout CYSM and several other songs! I plan to eventually cover those in the lyric series as well—the ones where we have clear evidence they exist within the universe (e.g., CYSM choreo is shown in The Doom's Night). It is my personal interpretation right now that these lyrics/songs reflect the lives of the characters within the universe, just as artists in the real world embed pieces of their lives into their art.

.... Again, emphasis on that being a personal interpretation, but it makes me feel mildly better about all the referential lyrics. (Everything else is Suffering.)
