Never got back into my drawing schedule after that series of problems earlier this year, struggling to bring myself back to the story, might actually just say Can It and cut right to what was gonna be part 3.

A big problem with porting this to its own original universe is that the story I originally had I mind had so much lead up, but I'm starting to realize that I could actually just jump in in the middle and leave this whole prequel zone super ambiguous, something even I am kinda trying to put together from details, leaving the story I actually know how to tell front and center.

If I'm not posting again by the new year I'm gonna lose my mind

Page spree continues!

I wasn't sure what to put on the last row and stalled for a long time, the hazard of winging it I guess. Eventually I realized that taking a minute to look at the environment is probably a good way to go in those situations most of the time. In gothics, buildings and environments are often treated as characters, and I like how these two ended up with similar lighting on them. Not the same, but they share some important goals in common...but I made the sun come from the wrong direction. Oops.

Fun Fact: The plague doctor was initially supposed to be serious, but even I laughed at it immediately. I don't think I even finished drawing those panels before I realized how silly this interaction looked. The despair of the undead, the grim utilitarianism of the plague doctor, the sad disrespect for the dead... it all boiled down to "get back in there you," **DONK** Forget the story I have planned, I want a whole series about a comically unconcerned plague doctor solving problems by poking them with a stick.

Gotta be real I'm not really ready to start posting regular pages again but I wanted to post at least one today because it kinda proves to myself I'm still working on the comic even if I am just chipping at it right now. Progress is still progress even when it's very small.

Situation improving, now continuing to draw buffer. Restart date unknown.

I asked Illario, do you remember the dragon at Cirille? And he told me, of course I remember the dragon.

Then I asked him about the the witches in Torelli, if he remembered them. And he told me, of course I remember them.

And I asked him, did you know that both of those happened on the same day? And he said, that’s impossible. And I said, so it is, but it’s true as well.

He thought about it for a minute, and he asked me, were they really? Were they really on the same day?

And I said yes, and he said, I guess you’re right, they both happened on the same day, around the same time.

We both remember being in both places, and people saw us, who were only in one place or the other. We were in Cirille, slaying a dragon, and it was incredible, because it was only by real luck that we were there at just the right time. On the same day, at about the same time, we were in Torelli breaking a curse.

That’s impossible. I know it’s impossible.

But, it’s true.

It’s working.

I heard today that a serpent appeared in Barchetta. I heard that I went there. I heard Lord Ariel saw me there an hour ago.

I’m still waiting to remember it. I wonder if it’s going to come on suddenly, or all at once.

Page Bump

It’s been so long since I had time to sit down and do a page all at once I forgot how long it takes and didn’t give myself enough time to finish. Sorry guys, page tomorrow. Here’s the important part anyway. I mean, I’m paraphrasing, but this is what happens.

Good news! My schedule this week is also WAY less crazy than it was leading up to Christmas, so I should be able to resume weekly posts.

I keep accidentally dropping allusions to the core theme in my dialog without totally meaning to, which gives me a good feeling about the strength of the theme I landed on.
