if you've never engaged with a creative art on a regular basis you need to understand that it requires concerted effort to get into "the groove" to make something and every second that it takes to get into that groove causes physical pain, but the only thing worse than doing it is not doing it.

I love trying to parse together anything about the Doctor's Academy years. He was a "terror" for 120 years. He regenerated one teacher and nearly regenerated a second one. He had no friends until school. he put a teacher in a time loop. He made a bacteria that put multi cellular lifeforms into a coma. He was in a band. It took him two tries to graduate with the bare minimum grade. No one can agree how long he went to school for or if he even graduated. He has a doctorate in cheese making. His friends kept trying to get him to join a rebellion and the government kept erasing his memory about it. The doctor is recorded to have attended a gallifreyan university that doesn't exist.

Like, what is this? I love this. Everything and nothing is canon and the world is a beautiful place.

I think Nuwho companions give a lot of leeway to The Doctor for some of their odder behaviors on the assumption of oh well they're an alien I'm not gonna hold them to human norms but tbh if they knew other time lords (not the master. The master doesn't count bc the master is also a freak) they'd probably be like ohhh. Never mind it's not a species thing it's a you thing

I desperately need a doctor who companion that is goth. doctor asks where they want to go next and they, with spark in their eyes, say they want to visit the oldest cemetery in the galaxy. they are absolutely obsessed with weird, dead (and undead), scary things and it IS an ongoing joke. they are dying to see a vampire. and they would serve cunt with their outfits! or something. I'm projecting.
