I agree with the notes that Reyna would honestly be such a great detective but I think the most heinous detective duo would be Reyna and Octavian.
Percy and Annabeth would be in the thick of it. Imagine Poseidon running his business with his three sons and a daughter who are a bundle of chaos in their own right. (Triton trying too hard to run the empire, Percy existing to spite Zeus, Kym who could be motivated to kill them all and Tyson the baby)
If I ever write a no powers au it is going to be a who dunnit about Zeus’s death because literally everyone has a motive and now since everyone is mortal everyone has the means to murder him.
Murder suspects
Athena- Believes that Zeus is running the company inefficiently and if he just listened to her everything would be fixed. Once tried to take over the Olympian Holdings. Her alibi is completely air tight like she knew this would happen…
Hades- Zeus once tried to harm his lover. Rival business owners.
Posideon- Extreme brotherly rivalry and also rival business owner.
Apollo- Recently disowned son who has taken his disowning suspiciously well… has the medical know how to pull off some interesting stuff. Second most likely to be framed.
Hera- We all know her motive. And you know what she deserves to kill him at this point
Luke- trying to destroy Olympian Holdings for its shady business practices and has his own complicated ties to the Olympian family.
Ares- Recently written out of the will for doing something stupid. Has a gun at all times. Most likely to be framed.
Hermes- Zeus’s aid for a ridiculous amount of time with no career advancement. Has info on the other suspects that he is very willing to share. Has recently been in hot water with Zeus over the actions of his son Luke.
Thalia and Jason Grace- Zeus’s bastard children who are set to inherit a lot of his money.
I have no idea who the detective would be since there isn’t an unbiased demigod with the intelligence to deal with this mess. Tempted to have the detectives be Percy and Annabeth. Will Solace would also make a great medical consultant.
Who do you think would do it?

This was probably the most disappointing episode so far for me. Still trying to figure out if I didn’t like it because I’m mourning what could have been or if I actually disliked the changes for legitimate reasons.

Chiron and Mr D: now that you've trained at camp for one (1) week it's time for you to embark on a quest to retrieve Zeus' lightning bolt and stop all out war from breaking out amongst the Gods.
Percy: are you aware that i am twelve years old
Chiron and Mr D: this is your dad's will
Percy: is he aware that i am twelve years old

I can’t stop thinking about the relationship between Athena and Annabeth.
The Medusa parallels are SO HEART WRENCHING, and the scene where echidna says “that’s what a good mother does; not that you would know” make me freeze, but I noticed something else that test my heart in two and I can’t get it out of my head…
So in the scene with Medusas head and the box where Grover snaps at Percy and Annabeth saying how they’re were acting was bad he says that THE HAT IS THE ONLY THING ANNABETH HAS EVER HAD TO CONNECT HER TO HER MOTHER! This may not seem like a big thing but hear me out… in HOO HER HAT STOPS WORKING
That means by the time she’s 17 she has lost all ‘connection’ with her mother through the symbolism of the hat
Athena took away her gift and her ‘love.’
I CANT GET IT OUT OF MY HEAD THAT IS SO SAD

I got to watch episode 4! Very happy with this episode as a whole even if not a huge fan of certain choices. Kept track of my reactions as I went in notes app and they’re below the cut.
I love baby Percy. However not a big fan of Sally in this scene. I get that she’s allowed to be frustrated but I don’t think she would hold the fact they paid for the lesson over Percy’s head.
Every time I hear forbidden kid all I can think of is CaffeinatedFlumadiddle’s Son of Sea Foam.
“I gotta earn it with you too” Damn I love them so much.
“It isn’t supposed to work that way.” I love baby Percy’s radicalization. You’re right you don’t deserve to be treated like that. “Pay your Child support” Percy has been here since the beginning.
“It’s everybody.“ oh poor baby Annabeth. I knew the backstory but framing it as her not being a gift hurt a lot.
HELL YEAH!!! PAN MENTION!!! I have been waiting for this since the season started. I’m an unproportionately excited about this.
The police officer scenes made me way too apprehensive. I’m so much more worried about them now given casting.
I am so confused by Echidnas earlier entrance. It feels less cinematic to meet her on the train versus the arch. There’s no element of surprise either. What was a cute moment of character growth as they visited somewhere Annabeth always wanted to go as they waited. It would be stupid to retreat to the Arch now.
“This has always been a family story” I want this overlaid on all the gifsets.
They’re really playing into the later themes where the demigods are monsters. Like I thought Percy really only starting to feel that way in Tartarus when faced with Bob. He might have felt bad about being a hero and trying to prove he was nothing like Hercules in TTC but it wasn’t an overarching demigods are the monsters mindset.
Really glad the Chimera didn’t appear as a service dog. Cute little puppy wandering down the corridor is perfect.
Oh so the Arch is a temple. I’m glad they have a reason to go there. I was worried they would go there despite being hunted.
Ugh I’m not a fan of how Athena blames Annabeth for the head.
Fuck Percy’s going to jump into the river thinking that he’s going to die. Sure he might pray but he won’t believe it.
Annabeth was going to sacrifice herself like Thalia. She wasn’t going to let a forbidden kid die for her again (and you know she was the one in best fighting shape)
The water grabbing him was so cool. I loved being able to see the concrete below him and then the water reached out for him. “He’s here and he’s so very proud” God I’m going to cry.
This tv show is very pro Poseidon. Like yeah it’s largely anti-gods but the comparison between Athena and Poseidon this episode had him way on top. Athena was essentially going to let her daughter be killed (which actually lines up with her treatment of Annabeth in MOA, just sending countless of her children to die on an impossible quest and treating it like an honor). Percy talks about not even wanting to pray to his dad and his dad saves him anyway. (Yes I realize last episode had the Medusa stuff but feel like that was less impactful after she tried to kill them.)
Really wish we had the reunion this episode but oh well guess I have to wait for next week.

Because the gaze of Medusa turned all who looked at her to stone, Perseus guided himself by her reflection in a shield given him by Athena and beheaded Medusa as she slept. He then returned to Seriphus and rescued his mother by turning Polydectes and his supporters to stone at the sight of Medusa’s head.

satyrs serve as demigod protectors, of which their job is to provide safe passage to camp half-blood. which could very well mean that every camper is at least aware of the 'consensus' song!! i really hope the shows takes the opportunity to make it an ongoing joke throughout the series. just anytime anyone refers to a disagreement, a nearby camper will start clapping and singing off-key lmao

Hi all,
I will be tagging every instance I talk about the show with #pjo Disney plus and going forward on posts related to episodes that are less than two weeks old #pjo tv spoilers. However while the tv show has reignited my love for this fandom, I fell in love with the characters in their book form. (I mean my icon is literally a character we don’t meet till book 3) I will continue to talk about all the books that have been released without tagging for spoilers unless making a direct comparison to the show. I would love suggestions for tags that differentiate between comparing where the series is currently to a similar place in the books vs comparing tv series to books as a whole.
In general, I’m not a big fan of spoiler culture since I feel that if a story is not worth reading/watching unless you’re completely surprised by the twist, it was probably a bad twist. However I understand that a story is best experienced instead of merely told to you, so I’m trying to find a system that will work for everyone and I can maintain.

Honestly because Rick wanted to show his son that his ADHD and dyslexia could be assets and weren’t a sign that he was broken, so much of the ADHD representation in the books was tied to it being a super power. It helps them think faster and stay alive in battle. But now, the tv show highlights the mental toll it can take feeling like a mistake and a failure in a world designed for neurotypicals. ADHD can come with a boatload of frustration, especially if you’re late diagnosed and think something has to be wrong with you since you can’t figure out why you can’t do simple things (speaking as someone who was diagnosed at 25). It’s nice when something romanticizes hyperfocus or other ADHD traits but it isn’t going to be relatable to someone who doesn’t have a name for their frustrations yet.
SOMEONE EXPLAIN TO ME WHY I AM RELATING MORE TO PERCY JACKSON NOW, AS A 20 YEAR OLD WOMAN FINALLY REALISING SHE MIGHT HAVE ADHD, THAN I EVER DID AS A CHILD. THE FUCKING SIGNS WERE THERE MAN.

I feel like I’ll hate him enough by the end if they play up his TV interviews implying that Percy killed Sally and stole the car. He’s already someone who invades her privacy and needs to be bribed to let her have time with her son. Percy didn’t realize he hit her until end of TLT, which lines up with Sally’s sometimes a monster doesn’t look like a monster bit in the Perseus monologue. Also little changes prevented them from showing him taking the money (Percy did not take bus and cab back home. He was dropped off by Yancy staff).
I am a little sad he’s no longer an inept store manager because it means Percy’s iconic - my stepdad will be so grateful he’ll give everyone discounts - is also gone.
percy jackson show didn’t make gabe hateable enough in the first two episodes. he just seemed kinda pathetic rather than like horrible and abusive. i get that it’s softened for disney but like come ON i need to hate this guy enough that i cheer when he gets turned into a statue and im not getting that from it
