A 21-Gun 'Fuck You' to Isayama's little bastard child....
Well guys, another day, another birthday in the Attack on Titan canon. But there are no warm wishes, no fond feelings to be had for this one. Nothing but the blood of the innocent innocent all over her hands. And the beginning of the end of Titan as we knew it.
For it is none other than the biggest mistake in all of anime, GABI BRAUN.
Tumblr media
There's the look of a girl who's out to fuck an entire franchise.
To have to put her face on my profile truly makes me feel uncomfortable; I would feel better off if I never had to acknowledge the existence of someone as unlikable and as forced as Gabi, the character who has singlehandedly ensured that I will never EVER watch the series again from start to finish.
Still not enough words to describe my hatred for this bitch. Ever since her debut in the manga, Gabi has been nothing but poison to damn near every aspect of Attack on Titan, and while fans and critics may remain convinced that Eren Yeager was still the focus of the story after the ocean, that for a time was nothing but a motherfucking lie, as everything seems to shift its gears towards forcing Gabi Braun as the new hero of the franchise, a similarly overpowered, out of her depth suicidal bitch who Hajime Isayama REFUSES to let come to harm under any circumstances, and in fact seemed to take a perverse pleasure in how much he could defy the fandom's hostile reactions to her obnoxious, overzealous, and aggressive personality.
I've spoken at length about how truly awful Gabi is, for how much she takes over the story out of the blue and how far her worst fans will go to defend her, with Isayama himself and his overly defensive fans and critics pushing this nonsense "redemption arc" that some still insist was critical to Titan's final resolution. Right, a character who was only introduced in the final act of the story is the one who takes priority over everyone whom we've followed since season one, over her own fucking cousin Reiner, over Eren, over Mikasa, over Historia.....And that's not even getting into the biggest victim of all of this yet.
Yeah, this is the girl so many deluded fans will rush to defend, you take one look at this and you realize right out the gate she's nothing but bad news. An overly toxic character who by herself makes the story increasingly more uncomfortable to sit through, and yet gets a free pass because, say it with me now........"SHE'S JUST A KID"......
Yeah. A kid who regardless of upbringing clearly is NOT right in the head.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And yet THIS is the character we push this goddamn "break the cycle" message with, this is the kid who we have to thank for that "children of the forest" horseshit. Well maybe some people are not worth rescue from the forest......
Gabi just an open condescension of the audience, and Isayama does everything in his power to frame us as being in the wrong for following our natural inclination to hate her guts, and to force sympathy for her when she's done nothing to earn it, and has never received lasting consequences for her actions.
Any sympathy I could have POSSIBLY felt for Gabi went out the window years ago. And it all comes down to one fucking reason:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It doesn't matter how much time passes, it does not matter how many excuses I hear, it does not matter how many self-righteous little fuckheads I square off with online who try to hit back at me with "You just didn't get it!" ..........Absolutely NOTHING will make me forgive what Gabi did to Sasha. A character who had all the potential to be something so much more and who was so profoundly iconic in the series, just to be cruelly cut down like garbage to move the plot of an unwanted newbie who's name has since become synonymous with "garbage".
Never ever can I forget that horrifying from Assassin's Bullet, where Gabi stole Sasha from us. Gabi Braun is the only character in fiction to actually cause me lasting emotional and psychological damage. Of all the horrifying scenes Attack on Titan has given, that ISAYAMA has given us, Sasha bleeding out from the mouth and sent out on the most inappropriate and insensitive last words possible is the one scene I DID NOT NEED.
ALL BECAUSE OF GABI BRAUN!
Tumblr media
The fact that that bastard Isayama would be sol deluded to think he can force sympathy for Gabi after having pulled a stunt like that, a scene so emotionally manipulative and disrespectful, the fact that he would have us tolerate her existence after such a spectacle....And the fact that she survived to the end after what she did to Sasha, and after all she did to provoke Eren's assault upon the world, again after facing no lasting repercussions for any of it.
And let me tell you something, looking up these images, seeing those disgusting scenes of Assassin's Bullet still brings great anger to me, reminding me how badly I still wish to see Gabi die for all of this, how much I hate Hajime Isayama, and how much I still wish to personally rip the man a new one for everything he's done since the day he published the chapter that brought on this VILE piece of animation.
And the fact that some fans have the AUDACITY to imply that Sasha and Gabi are anything alike, right down to their physical appearance, a notion that the anime and manga themselves promoted in their tasteless attempt to draw a parallel between the two of them in their encounters with Kaya.....It's a lie and a farce that I find personally offensive and stomach churning even now. There were so many ways they could have executed Gabi's story, and if it had been done any other way where she didn't have such egregious plot armor and wasn't so clearly overplayed and overpromoted by Isayama for the entire final act, MAYBE somewhere in my heart I might've found a speck of sympathy for Gabi.
If the story had made room for her AND Sasha, things might have been very different around here......
Tumblr media
But it's far too late. The damage is done, and for me the damage is lasting. And there is absolutely NO number of excuses today by the few fans Gabi does have that could ever make me see things from her perspective, let alone wish her anything other than a cruel demise to match the one she dealt to Sasha and the billions she got killed by provoking Eren with her recklessness. And to this day, I will NEVER understand what the hell Falco ever saw in her. Nothing good can come from a relationship with someone with the kind of of blood on her hands that Gabi has.
So no sympathy points for Gabi, let alone a 'Happy Birthday'.
And as a parting gift to her and her fans....
Tumblr media
A little souvenir from a friend of mine...
If you haven't figured out who I got this from yet....... let's just say she manages to make a chainsaw headed dog a lot cuter than any living soul could have accomplished voicing Gabi Braun. And for her, I have a lot more respect.
And if you know who I mean Gabi fans, sorry to tell you I got to say my piece first. Chew on that.
And speaking of chew.....
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Happy Birthday, Gabi Braun.

Hats off to Jean Kirstein, the Scouts' unlikeliest hero.
Honor dictates that I say a few words to honor the birthday of one of the 104th's strongest and most naturally gifted soldiers.
Tumblr media
Jean Kirstein is a character who, at one point, I would have said had one of the most impressive arcs of any individual character in Attack on Titan. Once content to keep himself to the sidelines in service of the royal government, Jean has really come a long way from when we first met him in the early days of season one.
Jean has always been abrasive and cynical, holding on to no fantasies about the miserable world he and his friends have long been trapped in. But in spite of all he's gone through, he's shown a keen sense of judgement and natural leadership that has allowed him to survive again and again in a situation he at one point would have been all to happy to look the other way, and never turn back. In a world where insanity dominates between the Titans and humanity, Jean always seems to know what to do even when he's at an utter loss of what the outcome could be, and he's so often been a voice of reason when faced with the panic of his comrades or the zeal of his friendly rival turned mortal enemy, Eren.
His old pal Marco recognized this potential in Jean, and it seems Marco's words have resonated strongly with Jean long after his own demise. Understanding what was at stake, he took a hard look at what he signed himself on to and charged at it head on. Through and through, he's proven a dependable ally to those serving by his side and ultimately, under his own command. One of Jean's greatest assets, and perhaps in his own mind his greatest curse, is his nobility. Whatever his faults and failings, Jean has always sided with the greater good, and is one of the most incorruptible characters on Paradis. He's been pushed to his limits every bit as much as the rest of his circle......And through it all still stands tall.
By no means flawless, and I actually have some far stronger opinions about Jean in spite of the fact that I rarely ever comment on him around here.......And that's a discussion for another day.
For tonight though, gotta acknowledge the impressive track record of a guy who probably never should have been a Scout in the first place.......And somehow has lived to speak of the experience after going through Hell and back time and time again.
Seriously, Jean Kirstein would have been a worthy contender to become Commander of the Scout Regiment, or second-in-command under Hange and/or Levi. Whatever the case, he's certainly been an asset to the greater cause of freedom, and perhaps understood the meaning of what that was far better than Eren himself EVER did.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Keep moving forward as you always have, Commander Jean.
Tumblr media
Happy Birthday to a man worthy of wearing the Wings of Freedom.
Tumblr media
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Oh, and one last thing; If you really do truly love Jean, then for the love of all that is good and just.........
Do NOT even think about it with the lame as hell Horseface jokes. I think the fact that I acknowledged not just Jeanmarco, but also "Jeankasa" up here is being pretty generous as it is. So please, don't push it, alright?
Besides, I can name five other characters who look more like horses than him.....

This makes way more sense than it should. Check this one out, @xeno250 !
And as an aside to everybody, Avatar: The Last Airbender will always trump Attack on Titan when it comes to its lore, character growth, and yes, its themes. There's no contest between the two. I stand by that.

So, I took the time to watch the Attack on Titan finale today.....
Tumblr media
I don't know why, because everyone keeps saying that the anime ending was a huge step up from the manga's ending. Jeez, has it really been three years since that dropped the ball?
So I decided I needed to see for myself what it really changed, I had the time so I forced myself through it, to see what exactly the big deal all was; mostly what was different, and what it did that was so far removed from the comic.
Well I gotta admit, I was surprised by what I saw.
The animation was really impressive, much better than what I've seen of MAPPA's handiwork from the rest of this season. The whole thing just kept going bigger and bigger, and it just never seemed to slow down. It's definitely one of the most impressive battles of the series, especially when so much focus on fighting and ending the Titans seemed to be lost after so long. Plus I forgot how stunning MAPPA's backgrounds can be, almost like WIT's. I guess that's what you call "peak" in the anime circle now, huh?
Tumblr media
Levi......What can I say, he's an absolute badass, and the battle was worth it just to see him plow through Eren's army of Titans in all of his glory. Nothing can slow this guy down, and he definitely earned his ending. Sure he lost everyone who was near and dear to him but at least he can finally get some measure of peace. A much better finish than what the manga gave us, in its own weird way.
Was surprisingly touching to see the fallen Scouts again btw. Should have had Marco somewhere for Jean's sake, but maybe they can finally move on to a better place, wherever that may be.
Tumblr media
Well the Armin and Eren scene pulled no punches, did it? XD Bad puns aside, I was surprised at how emotionally charged that scene was, Eren seemed really sorry for everything. At least he finally owned up to it in the end. Such a shame he was left with so little choice in the end.
Tumblr media
And really, I realized how hard I was on Mikasa. She knew the life she thought she and Eren could have was beyond all hope, and in the end she made the right choice, agonizing as it was. In the end Mikasa really was too good for Eren, theirs is a love that was tragically cut short by circumstance. He couldn't help it, she couldn't help it.......Eremika truly is an unsung Shakespearean tragedy.
Oh don't you worry Eren, I'm sure she was thinking of you well beyond ten years. Who could fault her? We all know you meant well....
Tumblr media
So........now everyone's saying it took two thousand years if not more for this to happen, huh? Well I guess that sort of makes up for it.....At least nobody we knew and loved lived to see it, right? I guess we can stop blaming Eren for whatever brought this upon Paradis, right?
Tumblr media
Well, whatever the case may be, after finally seeing it I can say the anime ending makes up for a lot of what the manga left hanging. Great animation, such raw emotions, the insane music.......It was a long slog, but I'm glad I was proven wrong about everything I have said since the manga ending came out. This really helped to tie everything together much better, made the loss of such a wondrous cast a little easier to swallow. In the end, they gave their hearts, and in the end, it's much better to feeling something than to feel nothing.
So kudos to Studio MAPPA, and kudos to Hajime Isayama, truly I underestimated you. I feel like seeing this animated opened my eyes to so much of what I thought was missing. Suddenly things are so much clearer. Now.......Now I understand.......Eren only did what had to be done. Well played Mr. Isayama, well played.
And with that, I just want to leave with a quick shoutout to the true GOAT of Attack on Titan..........

Quick question for you all.
We all like to ship Hange with Levi. We love their opposites attract chemistry. Their friendship is practically legendary at this stage.
But what about Moblit Berner? Her loyal right hand man who gave up his life to save hers?
Does anyone think that he might have had deeper feelings for Hange? They clearly worked very well together and he clearly placed great value on her life to do what he did. But rarely does anyone seem to ship them much these days.
Hey I'm a guy who's content with platonic relationships, as a rule I'm averse to shipping. But some things you cannot help but wonder about.
So, what do you guys think?
Tumblr media
Also, justice for Moblit Berner! He gave his heart and soul to the cause. ⚔️

You're absolutely right, his reaction NEVER felt natural given their lack of camaraderie onscreen, and if it was there it was purely informed. How close were Sasha and Eren honestly? And don't tell me you guys wouldn't have liked seeing her reaction to, and likely condemnation, of Eren starting the Rumbling.
There was indeed more to go by between Eren and Connie, but this never truly comes full circle. Sure he blames Eren for what happened to Sasha but technically doesn't really act on those instincts of revenge even in the final battle. Connie also nearly had a mental breakdown over being betrayed when he nearly assaulted Onyankopon, but again this is gradually forgotten later. All that would suggest he really did regard Eren as a trusted friend at one point. Then his stupid tears and that repulsive laugh might have actually made sense.
i remain firmly convinced that the impact of that mess, if it has to happen, would have meant more if Sasha was the survivor. The fallout of Eren's act would have tested her character and she certainly would not have sat silently over Eren's very obvious madness and as discussed before, would have saved a lot of her connections in S4 that come off as purely informed.
Isn't it funny how the fans notice the obvious details and plot holes that the assholes who are actually paid to write this shit fail to acknowledge?
Warning! AOT Season 4 spoilers for my friend
I also just remembered something else on why Connie should’ve been killed instead of Sasha…
It’s because Eren interacted with Connie much more.
It’s weird to see Eren getting upset about her death when we, the audience, barely saw them talk to each other through the previous seasons. There was one scene in season 1 when she stole meat, and then in Junior High when they high fived (that was a spin-off tho) so it’s difficult to understand his ‘grief’ from her demise.
Connie on the other hand, has been seen talking a lot with Eren more. In fact, it was Eren who inspired him to join the Scouts in the first place. They both had a chat twice in season 3 Pt 1, at the beginning and the end, so we can tell they were growing a bond. Which would’ve made it more believable for Eren to break down if Connie were gunned down.
So yeah, that’s how I personally would feel about it. Maybe it also would’ve allowed Sasha to talk to Eren more after the incident as well.

I was just wondering, in regards to my earlier repost......would it have made a lot more sense to position the Tyburs as Eren's main opponent in saving Paradis and thus making them a more proactive presence, regardless of whether the Rumbling remains canon?
The Tyburs are as I said before, an utterly underwhelming factor of the story given how quickly they are killed after the truly baffling revelation that they are Eldian themselves governing Marley. And General Theo Magath hardly justifies his involvement as he too is killed off criminally early in his campaign to stop Eren and perhaps even is too quick to see the error of his ways in the pacing of the final arc. Sure him seeing how badly Marley screwed itself is a slightly better executed "arc" compared to Gabi's bullshit story where she still faced nothing for her crimes, but his impact is still middling by the time he dies with Keith at his side.
Perhaps if Willy had been leading the charge and Lara was actually built up as a warrior in her own right and not some random homemaker lady with no plot or personality to go by....or if someone else had been given the bloody Warhammer and actually executed its awesome power.....I mean it's an Eldian clan willing to wipe out their own kind up against the Eldians determined to reclaim their place in the world, I feel like the points expressed through characters like Magath or even Garbage Braun could have been better conveyed through the Tyburs going up directly against Eren rather than further distracting us with one plot that proved inconsequential and several character arcs that further distracted from the main flow of the story.
And to those of you still foaming at the mouth at Willy's iconic death in "Declaration of War", save your spazzing out for someone who gives a damn, that episode is as shit as the rest of this three year long final season. It's a stupid death when you consider how it voided such a puzzling revelation on Marley's side of the story.
Obviously I haven't worked out all the finer details so I'm sure there's some holes in my logic.....but I feel like several major points could have been salvaged with a different approach here. Something I think worth discussing.
Tumblr media
Shout-out to @glassesntea for their original post on the topic of the Tyburs. I think if you're going to introduce this kind of information into the story, you should follow through on it. Make it come full circle. Isayama really dropped the ball on this, harder than when Gabbitch Braun was dropped on her head at birth.

An excellent question. Goes to show you how worthless the Tyburs truly were to the story, maybe if they had been hinted at much sooner.....or better yet, if the Warhammer Titan had actually been relevant at any point before its sole appearance......
Frankly an Eldian family governing a superpower hellbent on the destruction of Eldia demands more explanation, but it has neither the execution or a competent writer to be anything more than a footnote in the show's history.......Still think Isayama's GOAT? Donkey sounds more apt.
I've been thinking: what happened to the rest of the Tyburs after the Rumbling?
They still have a political position in the new world or they are seen with suspect after lying about their role in overthrowing Karl Fritz for a century? Willy is revered as the man (martyr) who tried to unite the people of the world against a menace that turned real since he sacrificed his own life along with his sister's? Or the public sees his death as something he deserved since the Tyburs, who ruled Marley in the shadows, failed to stop the inevitable letting the military taking awful decision and neglecting their duties and allowing, with their disinterest, the Rumbling?
In the manga we didn't know if Zeke's grandparents survived, and we have seen in the anime that they didn't. The Tyburs are not mentioned even in the anime, or I just missed some scenes?

Sorry folks, no birthday tribute to Annie Leonhart here.
Why?
Because why the hell would I feel anything for a character who went unpunished for her crimes? And better question, why do any of you?
Annie should have died in season one. She served no purpose in season four. Nearly a decade after she was last relevant.
That said.....

Bertolt has a "mullet".........Looks more like he didn't brush his hair. Big fucking deal, guys.
Oooh, Ymir has an undercut!
...........This the part where I'm supposed to say "Cool!" or something? They're still gone, goddamn it! And meanwhile everyone over on Twatter is being, you guessed it, a TWAT over these sketches. The whole fandom, SIMPS, zealots, diehards, Gabifuckers, Yeagerists, and fucking retards.
Sorry to go raining on your parade people but you got nothing to celebrate. Ymir's gone, GOT IT? Marco's gone, Bert's gone for those who actually give a shit about him, GARBAGE BRAUN still lives when she had no right to even exist, Historia basically all but stopped existing in the last act......And people are still talking like the anime ending REALLY did fuck all to redeem the manga ending because of ONE lousy line change and some over the top animation?
This series certainly did not earn the words "The End".
What does it earn? It earns Hajime Isayama a one way ticket to the deepest hole in Hell from which he came.
Isayama, may you develop a neurological disorder that deprives you of the use of the hands with which you drew this shitshow.

I’ve been screaming on Twitter all day because Hajime Ysayama FINALLY revealed the canon timeskip looks for Ymir and Bertholdt! And I’m blown away by their hairstyles! Ymir’s is unusual but it looks so good on her and Betholdt has a mullet?!🥹💜
I love her looks so much AAAH💜 lol I am kinda proud🙈

@natsuki208 Once again, I appreciate your comments immensely.
While I am not going to pretend I give a damn about Falco (To everybody else, you can just sue me....) , I can see why you thought especially poorly of Connie during his brazen act. And the fact that NOTHING came of this further cements my point that season four deviated too much and wasted too much time on scenes and plots that were irrelevant. There was that crap about Armin saying they "needed Gabi's trust" and that's why they gave chase to Connie and Falco........Remind me again why the survivors of the 104th needed that bitch again?
Connie's actions were indeed impulsive and shortsighted, and he probably complicated things with that stunt........But it's his subdued reaction to what happened to Sasha, as well as his lack of relevance outside of this pointless sequence of events that still drives my belief that he should have died instead of her. Connie just isn't a valuable character in any sense.
The idea that Connie could outlive Sasha, Hange, Ymir, Erwin, and Eren himself......Yeah cocaine IS a helluva drug.
My Honest Thoughts on S4 Connie Springer.
For @sonofthesaiyans since they asked me about it.
Warning! AOT Season 4 spoilers for my friend.
As you said before, you’d prefer if Connie getting shot over Sasha because you find him a weaker character than her. Although I agree to a certain point, I have my own reasons on why…
Because he became soo unlikeable this season!
I understand that he lost his closest friend in his life and was still grieving, but I say it’s no excuse for a certain decision he made after the Rumbling just started… you know what I’m talking about.
Right after the Rumbling began, the group had Falco with them (who recently became the new Jaw) and while everyone else agreed to possibly feed him to someone who can aid them in their battle, like Pixis, Connie un ironically wanted to feed Falco to his titan mom. NO JOKE!
Like seriously? Connie, I know you’re still grieving over a lot of things, but the world is about to end because of a certain someone and all you can think about is your mom? Being an idiot doesn’t help your case either! I know your a bit more smarter than that! Come on!
(these were literally my thoughts at the time I read those chapters)
Later he said to himself ‘Sasha, would you understand?’ and I was like: “What do ya think? You dumbass!”
