Sorry for the late response. I was trying to formulate a response. I feel so bad for this family. I want to fight her husband. I don’t know if his backstory plan is that is his family was previously inline with the old ways of Fire Nation ideals prior to Zuko reforming it. Which makes a clash between Izumi and him because one is raised within a new tradition and the other somewhat believes in old ideals. Poor Iroh having to experience this and a kidnapping is heartbreaking.

Izumi probably never got over the guilt and losing your son to a man who hurt him would make you have a panic attack if she thought something would happen if Iroh joined United Forces. Probably wondering if she did something wrong or thinking if Iroh still felt a need to prove himself. Which be heartbreaking talk to have.
