Call My Name (a Xiao x reader oneshot)
Warnings: canon-typical violence but nothing graphic besides some wounds
If you like my stuff you can buy me a ko-fi here!
A/n: Hello I am back after a 5 month hiatus. Sorry for being gone for so long but school was kicking my ass. This oneshot was initially written back when the lantern-rite festival event was happening in-game. However I didn’t get a chance to edit it until recently. So hopefully you enjoy it!
Tumblr media
To say you were in a bad situation was an understatement. It was amazing how fast the atmosphere of the surrounding area had changed in a manner of seconds. Going from cheerful awe to limb-numbing terror in just the span of a few moments. You had been walking around the Lantern Rite festival with Aether, staring in silent amazement as the mingxiao lantern soared through the sky.
When all hell broke loose.
Monsters had suddenly appeared out of nowhere, wreaking havoc and destroying stalls. There were hilichurls, samachurls, mitichurls, and slimes. Normally these were not too big of a threat in small groups, but the sheer number of them that had appeared made you nervous.
Shrieks of civilians resounded in the air as you cut down the monsters surrounding you. You couldn’t kill all of them but you were determined to at least buy some time for the people of Liyue to get to a safer area. From behind, you could hear the sound of Aether killing a couple of hilichurls himself, Paimon yelling warnings when anything tried to sneak up behind him.
However, one of them had managed to surprise both him and Paimon. Aether let out a grunt as the fiery club made contact with his ribs and tumbled backwards slightly.
“Aether get down!” you yelled. Swiftly, you two moved as one, Aether crouching down close to the ground as you swung your weapon over his head. The hilichurl fell with a thud, its corpse laying there.
Grabbing his hand, you pulled him up and Aether nodded in thanks. “It’ll be more efficient if we work as a unit more,” he suggested. You shifted the weapon in your hand, re-tightening your grip, and nodded. “Let’s get started then. Together this time.”
With those words, the two of you fell into a rhythm. Back to back, you filled in each other’s blind spots. Your weapon cut through the air, slicing enemies down one by one, however there seemed to be a never ending horde wherever you turned. Limbs screaming, you panted for air but kept fighting. The screams of the people filled the air and you couldn’t help but pause for a moment. From the corner of your eyes, you could see the Millelith trying to usher the people to safety while also fighting off the creatures.
An attack aimed at your head made you focus back in on the battle, eyes darting forward once more. It was only a hilichurl that had tried to get you with its wooden club. Deflecting it with your own weapon, you cut it down when something piqued your interest. The hilichurl had a strange aura around it. A dark one that you had seen before. Glancing around, you realized all of them had it. You and Aether just hadn’t noticed because of the initial panic.
Your eyes widened at the realization. “Karmic debt…” you muttered right as a slime tried to pounce on you. With a grunt, you fended it off before calling out to your companion. “Aether!” The young man’s eyes flickered towards you to show he was listening before he stabbed another monster with his sword. “You notice it too right? These monsters are being affected by karmic debt. We have to get their numbers under control before-”
A loud roar followed by several screams cut you off. Aether, Paimon, and you all whipped around to see what the commotion was about. The sight made everyone’s eyes widen. Barreling towards you was a massive stone lawlachurl. You felt a sense of dread and despair settle in your stomach. As if the other monsters hadn’t been enough, now you had to fight off this one as well.
“Move!” Aether yelled as he ran out of the way. You did the same, dashing in the opposite direction of him. The lawlachurl had barely missed you with its charge, the wind it had created brush against your back. “Y/n we need to prioritize this one. Leave the rest to the Millelith. We need to kill it now,” Aether told you. Nodding at him, the both of you sprung into action.
Hacking and slashing at the lawlachurl’s legs, it stumbled back a little. Seeing the opening, you and Aether both activated your elemental powers causing your vision to glow slightly. His geo attack created an elemental reaction with your own blow. The lawlachurl roared in pain, looking down at the two of you in anger. It raised its fists into the air before bringing them down with a loud slam. Narrowly rolling out of the way, you looked up to prepare another attack when the back of the lawlachurl’s hand smacked into you.
Letting out a cry of pain, your body went flying into a nearby wall. There was a crack as your back collided with the stone and your vision went black for a second. The next thing you knew, you were on the ground, head swimming.
“Y/n!” Aether called. His voice sounded muffled, as if you were underwater. Slowly opening your eyes, you glanced over weakly.
Black spots littered your sight but you could still make out Aether fighting off the lawlachurl. You gritted your teeth. ‘I need to get up. I need to help Aether,’ you thought but your body didn’t respond. The pain and soreness from the fight had begun to sink in. Everything hurt as the small wounds from the battle had accumulated. Tears of frustration welled up in your eyes.
You felt helpless.
Aether wasn’t faring much better as he was struggling to fight the huge monster alone. He was able to roll out of the way from the lawlachurl’s attacks but you could see he was beginning to tire. His chest heaved in and out as he slashed. Once in a while, he would activate his geo powers but the lawlachurl barely seemed affected. You knew he wouldn’t be able to defeat it on his own. Reinforcements wouldn’t make it in time either.
However, just as you thought this, someone crossed your mind. Someone who would always arrive in times of danger.
“If you awake to a knife at your throat, if monsters dig their claws into you, if death comes knocking at your door, call out my name. I will be here when you call.”
Parting your lips, the words came out quietly. Barely a whisper. But it was enough.
“Adeptus Xiao…” A moment passed. Then two. When suddenly a large gust of wind blew through the street. Xiao appeared out of nowhere, rushing forward and kicking the lawlachurl away from Aether. His boot connected with its face, sending it flying backwards. Xiao landed on the ground, giving Aether a glance. “Are you alright?” he asked the blond.
Aether just weakly gave a thumbs-up. “I’m fine. Y/n on the other hand…” he trailed off as he looked at you.
Xiao also turned his head to check on your condition. Your eyes met his amber ones and they lit up with anger. You looked so frail and broken lying on the ground like that. It made him want to tear the lawlachurl limb from limb. Putting on his mask, he surged forward and began to fight the lawlachurl. Xiao pierced the monster with his spear over and over. His anemo-infused attacks were ruthless as all he could think about was making sure this monster never got up again.
Meanwhile, Aether ran over to you. Dropping to his knees, he knelt down on the ground next to you. “Are you okay?” he asked. He frantically looked over you, trying to assess your wounds.
“Just peachy,” you coughed, “probably just a mild concussion and some back problems”. He gave you an incredulous look while you just grinned shakily.
A thud echoed through the street, causing you and Aether to look in the direction of the sound. Xiao stood atop the lawlachurl’s body, his spear embedded into its back. It seemed as though that had been one of the last monsters, as no new ones came to replace it. The adeptus roughly took his spear out and put it on his back. He jumped off the beast and ran over. Quickly taking you from Aether, he held you close in a tight hug. You could feel his heart frantically beating as he pressed your chests together.
Xiao tried to calm his breathing, to slow it down and match yours. The rise and fall of your chest was surprisingly controlled and relaxed for someone who had just been thrown into a wall. But that helped calm him. You were okay. You were safe. He made it in time.
When he had first arrived at the scene, seeing your prone body lying on the ground reminded him of the corpses that always seemed to lie at his feet. The deaths of his old friends that he blamed himself for and the numerous battles that he had seen in his lifetime.
Xiao felt so guilty for not getting there earlier. For not being able to prevent you from getting hurt. He gripped you tighter as a tear fell from his eye and trailed down his face. He was supposed to be the guardian Yaksha, he should have heard the chaos, the carnage. He should have been watching over the people more closely. He should have-
This line of thought was cut off as you wrapped your own arms around him. You rubbed his back in soothing gestures as if you could feel his inner turmoil. It helped ground him as he took a deep breath in. Burying his face in the crook of your neck, he let you soothe his nerves and pain. For a moment he allowed himself to feel at peace.
After a few seconds, you pulled away slightly and reached up towards his face. Xiao’s mask disappeared as you did. E/c once again met amber. Wiping the singular tear away, you whispered, “You were there when I called.”
Xiao nodded and covered your hand with his own. He leaned into your touch, never breaking eye contact. “No matter how many times you call, I will always be there.”

A/n: Hello I am back from the dead. I’m so sorry for not updating this series in so long. School really hit me hard and I barely had any time to write. I’m back now though and I hope you enjoy this next chapter.
Tumblr media
“You think your dad will be upset when he finds out about your little date with Shinsou? It’s his own protege after all.”
You sighed at your father’s words. It was the morning after you had hung out with your friends and Shinsou had let you know he would be arriving soon through a text. Looking at the grinning blonde, you waved your hand to dismiss his claims. You were careful not to splash water as you were washing the dishes in the kitchen. “It’s not a date papa. Just a small hang-out so we can get to know each other more,” you said. “I’ve explained this to you many times.”
Yamada chuckled. “I know Y/n but you have to admit, it’s a rare thing for you to invite people over. You usually only bring back your established group of friends.” He ruffled your hair and you let out a small hiss as he did. You weren’t able to bat his hand away due to your own being covered in soap. “I’m happy you’re open to getting to know him though. Your father would be happy as well. He won’t say it but he was worried you wouldn’t get along.”
Shrugging, you said, “Shinsou is a good guy. A little guarded yes but honestly I can see myself becoming good friends with him. He’s just so hard to read. He keeps his emotions in check a lot.”
Your father hummed in agreement, leaning against the counter. “You’re not wrong there. Your dad did a background check on him before he took him as his student. The kid had a lot of bad encounters with his peers in his past school. Although it seems as though he was never the one who started any of the situations. I don’t blame him for keeping his emotions close.” He leaned back on the counter beside you.
You placed a dish on the rack next to you on the counter. “Well I just have to try my best to crack that shell. Without pushing him too far of course. I don’t want to make him feel uncomfortable after all.” After you rinsed your hands under the running water you turned the tap off. Drying your hands off on a towel, you looked at Yamada. “What are you going to do while he’s here papa?”
The man hummed slightly. “I’ll just be doing some work for the radio station. You know me. Always busy.” He grinned at you. “Besides I wouldn’t want to disturb you two. And your dad isn’t here to distract me for once.”
Snorting slightly, you replied, “You act as if you’re not the one constantly clinging to dad.” As Yamada let out a squawk of protest the doorbell rang. “Ah that must be him.” You quickly made your way to the door, brushing past your dad on the way there. “Remember. Behave.” “Yes yes,” he replied, following you to the front room, although he hung back a little. Yamada stood near the doorway to the kitchen, he didn’t want to overwhelm Shinsou either.
You clapped your hands together to dispel your remaining nerves before you opened the door. As expected, Shinsou stood on the other side. His phone was in his hand as he looked at you, he had probably been using it to confirm he had the right address. He wore a simple black hoodie and jeans, along with some sneakers. His indigo hair was as wild as ever, sticking up in every direction, and as always he looked quite tired.
“Hey Yamada. It’s nice to see you,” he said, raising his hand a little bit in a wave.
“Hi Shinsou, thanks for coming,” you replied. You stepped back inside so he could come in. He closed the door behind him and reached down to take off his shoes. “Dad is still on that trip with his students but papa is here. He will be working in his study however.” As you mentioned that last part you shot a pointed look at Yamada. He simply chuckled and raised his hands to show he was innocent.
Shinsou looked up at the mention of your papa and finally noticed Yamada standing there. “Mic-sensei. Sorry for intruding,” he said, bowing his head down again for a brief moment.
Yamada simply made a waving motion with his hand, brushing off the apology. “Don’t worry about it. You're my husband’s protege and Y/n’s friend, so you’re always welcome here,” he replied.
“Still thank you for your hospitality,” Shinsou said. Now that his shoes were off, you handed him a pair of guest slippers for him to wear. Nodding in thanks, he slipped them on his feet and stepped away from the front door.
“Shinsou and I are going to my room okay papa? We’re gonna be playing some games,” you told the man as you began to make you way over to the stairs, Shinsou following behind.
“Sounds good. I’ll bring up some iced coffee and sweets for you in a bit,” Yamada said, giving you a thumbs-up.
“Thanks!” you called back while you walked up the stairs. Reaching the second floor, you made a beeline to your room. As you opened the door, you gestured for Shinsou to follow. “Come on in and get comfortable. I cleaned a little before you got here but it might still be a bit messy. Sorry about that.”
“It’s okay,” Shinsou replied. When he entered the room, he took a second to take a look around. Your room was set up to be simple but cozy. The bed was pushed up against two walls in the corner with a fluffy comforter neatly laid on top. Some bookshelves were in the other corner, filled with some knick-knacks and other belongings. There was also your TV and gaming system, as well as the desk and desk chair. By the TV there were two bean bag chairs, one of them already being occupied by you as you turned on the gaming system. However, some items by the desk caught Shinsou’s eye in particular.
Walking up to some pinned photos on the wall, he got a closer look at them. “You’re really good friends with those four huh?” he asked. The photos showed you hanging out with Akihiko, Kazue, Nobuko, and Rai. His eyes softened slightly when he saw the large smile on your face and the goofy things you were doing with your close friends.
You stopped setting up the gaming console for a second to look up at him. Noticing what he was looking at, you smiled slightly. “Ah yeah. They’re the people I feel closest to, other than my dads of course. I wouldn’t know what to do without them,” you replied, turning back to face the TV.
Shinsou looked away from the picture to glance at your back. “I see… It’s good that you can rely on others.” He walked over and sat in the empty bean bag chair next to yours. He shuffled around a little before he got comfortable.
“You make it sound like you don’t rely on others.”
“Besides my parents, I don’t make it a habit to.”
At this reply you couldn’t help but turn towards him, once again distracted from the screen in front of you. Your eyes examined his face. He looked a bit stiff, as if he didn’t mean to actually say that but couldn’t stop himself from doing so. His indigo eyes showed nothing but seriousness and bitterness however. Shinsou had meant it. There was no hint of a lie. Seeing him so closed-off made your heart ache slightly. He really didn’t have many friends after all.
Before you could think about it, your next words slipped from your lips. “Maybe I could become someone you rely on in the future then.” His eyes widened as he suddenly turned to face you, surprised at what you had said. Immediately a blush spread across your face. ‘That must have sounded so weird! Especially because we’ve only hung out once before this,’ you thought.
Going back to setting up the game, you fiddled with the controller. “O-Only if you want that of course!” you exclaimed. “I don’t want to force you to become my friend or anything.”
Shinsou stayed quiet for a few seconds before he spoke again. “Yeah I get it.” Picking up the other controller from the ground by his bean bag, he finally relaxed completely. “So what are we playing?” he asked.
“I thought we could start with some Mario Kart? I figured it would be a fun one to begin with.” You paused for a moment before you continued, “Plus I’ll probably kick your ass in it.”
Shinsou smirked, a mischievous glint in his eye. “Oh? Is that a challenge Yamada? I didn’t pin you to be the competitive type.”
You shrugged, a slight grin of your own appearing. “In most things? Perhaps. But no one can best me at Mario Kart. I’m the long-reigning champ of it in this household,” you replied.
“Hm. Well maybe it’s finally time for you to be dethroned then.” The two of you quickly picked your characters and karts before starting the race.
“Let the best player win then,” you told him. The smile on your face widened as the countdown began. As soon as the word start was displayed on the screen, your in-game characters took off. Both of you were playing to win.
A couple of races and more smacktalk later, there was a knock at your door. Pausing the game, you turned to look at it. “Come in,” you called, knowing it was your father on the other side.
Yamada opened the door, smiling at the two of you as he entered. He placed the tray he was holding onto the ground between you and Shinsou. On it were a plate of cookies as well as two cups of iced coffee, as he promised. “Well from all the yelling Y/n is doing, I’m assuming you’re having fun?” he teased.
You laughed sheepishly at this. “Sorry papa you know I can get a little rowdy when playing games.” Reaching down, you grabbed one of the glasses and took a sip of the drink.
Your father only chuckled and ruffled your hair, to which you tried to lean away from to no avail. “I know I know. Just don’t get too carried away alright? You wouldn’t want to scare Shinsou off after all,” he winked at the other male to show he was just joking around.
“It’s alright Mic-sensei. They haven’t said anything to scare me off quite yet,” he paused as his usual smirk appeared on his face again. “Although they did have quite a few choice words to say when I beat them in a race.”
Yamada gasped dramatically. “You beat Y/n in a Mario Kart race? Why this is unheard of.”
Your face flushed as you got up from your bean bag chair. “Alright papa. Thank you for the snacks you can go now,” you said, attempting to push him out of your room. You loved your father but he could be really embarrassing at times.
Chuckling, he allowed you to push him out, although he paused at the door for a second. “Alright, alright I’m going. Have fun okay? I’m right down the hall if you need me.”
Giving him one last push, he was finally out of the room. “We will. And I’ll let you know when Shinsou is leaving,” you replied. As the door shut you couldn’t help but sigh. You walked back over to the bean bag chair and plopped back into it. “Sorry about that. Papa just loves to tease me whenever my friends come over,” you told Shinsou.
“It’s alright. It’s quite interesting seeing how the two of you act outside of school. I see Mic-sensei is just as energetic here even when he’s not playing up his hero persona,” Shinsou commented.
You hummed in agreement as you unpaused the game. “Mm yeah papa is always like that. I think he does it to balance out dad’s rather tired nature.” Your face softened as you thought about their relationship. “They make a good pair. I’m glad they adopted me.”
“They sound like good parents. They both seem to love and care about you a lot,” Shinsou continued the conversation without looking away from the TV. His fingers pushing on the required buttons with ease even as some of his attention was on you.
“They’ve helped me with a lot of stuff. They gave me a home, a family.” Your voice grew melancholic. “...They also helped me with my quirk. Dad’s erasure was helpful when I couldn’t control it at first.” You felt a growing sense of dread when you brought up your quirk but you pushed it down. You already knew Shinsou wouldn’t judge you on your quirk. Plus you had mentioned earlier you wanted to become someone he could rely on. This meant you should show him you trusted him as well.
Shinsou glanced at you from the corner of his eye but his gaze quickly shifted back to the game, not wanting you to feel pressured. “You couldn’t control it at first? That’s not too surprising for young kids when they first develop their quirks.”
You chuckled bitterly. “Shinsou. My dads adopted me when I was nine remember? I had developed my quirk a long time before that, I think it appeared when I was four or so.”
His eyes widened. “It took you that long to gain control of your quirk?” he asked in shock.
Sighing, you paused the game, unable to focus on it anymore. Immediately, he turned to face you, giving you his full attention. You could only shrug and stare at the ground. “It took longer actually. I didn’t get full control of it until a year after I was adopted. It would just activate sometimes, especially when my emotions ran wild. Eventually, my dad was able to help me figure out how to stop that from happening, since he also has a sight-based quirk.” Your foot tapped the ground anxiously. “Without their help… I don’t think I would have ever gotten full control over it.”
Shinsou thought about his next words carefully. He didn’t want to push you but this was the most you had opened up to him and he was very curious about your past. “...Is the reason why you’re so scared of using your quirk linked to why you couldn't control it for such a long time?” he asked, his voice slightly softer than usual. It’s as if he thought he would scare you away if he was any gruffer.
You rubbed your temples. “In a way, yes it’s linked. I’m not scared of my quirk because I wasn’t able to control it though if that’s what you’re thinking.”
“Then why…?” He asked. Shinsou looked concerned as you began to show more signs of distress.
Inhaling sharply, you took a moment to try and compose yourself. It would be fine. He wouldn’t judge you. Shinsou had already shown you he was trust-worthy in the way he had made an effort to talk to you at school. It showed when he had apologized for making you angry during that training session. You knew you didn’t owe him an explanation but it felt as though he deserved one. After a minute or two, you spoke. “The reason why I’m so scared of my quirk is that-”
Before you could finish your sentence the door burst open, causing both you and Shinsou to jump. Whipping around, you saw Yamada standing in your doorway. He looked frazzled and distressed, he had his hero costume on but it was rumpled slightly. As if he had thrown it on in a hurry.
“Dad what-”
“Y/n I’ll explain the whole situation later but you have to listen to me,” Yamada said. His voice was gravely serious and concern swam in his eyes.
“There was an incident at the hero course’s training camp. I just got called in for a meeting. Your dad seems to be in some trouble.”

The smell of cinnamon and spices filled your kitchen as a batch of cookies baked in the oven. Taking out some new bowls from a nearby cupboard, you placed them on the counter beside the icing ingredients already laid out. As you began to measure out the sugar needed, you hummed to a random Christmas song that was playing on a speaker nearby.
You were so focused on your task in fact that you didn’t hear the sound of the front door of your house opening and closing. Once you had finished measuring the sugar, you placed the bag to the side and reached for the milk. However, before you could move a pair of arms snaked around your waist. Startled, your hand shot out to the side, about to activate your cursed technique. But right as you did this you recognized the cursed energy behind you.
Relaxing, you sighed. “Satoru. You know better than to come up behind me without warning,” you said. Instead of attacking the man behind you, your outstretched hand simply reached for the nearby measuring cup instead. Pouring the milk into it, the liquid rose until it met the exact amount required.
Your idiot husband only grinned. “Aw come on mochi, you know you love my surprise hugs,” he poked your right cheek, “and such a cold greeting. I thought you would be happy to see me after a long day of work.”
“It’s not as if I don’t like seeing you. I would just prefer it if I didn’t accidentally skewer you by accident,” you replied, the sentence dripping with sarcasm. After slowly pouring some of the milk into the sugar bowl, you mixed the two together with a whisk. The combination began to take a smoother texture as more milk was added, slowly becoming a pipeable icing.
Gojou kissed you on the cheek lightly. “You have way too much control over your power to accidentally hurt me and you know that,” he said. He continued to watch what you were doing over your shoulder. As he leaned down to rest his face in the crook of your neck, he hummed curiously. “Gingerbread cookies? Is it a special occasion or something?” One of his hands left your waist to dip a finger in the icing. You simply slapped the hand away, ignoring his subsequent whine and pout.
“Not particularly. I just thought it would be a good treat for our students. Especially considering we’re in the middle of the Christmas season.” After you gave the icing a few more stirs, you nodded in satisfaction at your work. You then placed the whisk into the bowl carefully so it wouldn’t accidentally fall in. Turning around in Gojou’s arms, you were met with the grinning face of your blindfolded husband.
Gojou leaned down and gave you a quick peck on the lips. “Are there any extras for me?”
“No, our students work much harder than you Mr. I get souvenirs instead of helping my student.”
“Pumpkiiiiiiin,” he whined. Burying his face in your hair, he squeezed you tighter. “You know you can’t deny me of sweets. When did you become so cruel.” Gojou reached up and pulled his blindfold down so it sat around his neck. Looking into your (e/c) eyes with his own ocean blue ones, he pouted like a sad puppy dog.
Rolling your eyes, you fought the growing smile that was creeping onto your face. “Oh stop being so dramatic. Of course I’ll set aside a few for you. I factored in your ridiculous sweet tooth when I was deciding on how many to make,” you told him. Slowly reaching up, you ran a hand through his bright-white hair. Leaning into your touch, Gojou closed his eyes briefly and hummed in delight.
As he opened his eyes, he turned his head slightly and kissed the palm of your hand. Never breaking eye contact while he did. “Thank you honey~ I have such a sweet spouse.” A mischievous smirk spread across his lips a moment later. “But I know how I can make you even sweeter.”
You raised an eyebrow, looking at him suspiciously. “Satoru, wha-” You were cut off as he slathered some icing on your lips using his finger. While you were talking, he had sneakily managed to steal some from the bowl behind you. A surprised yelp escaped from your throat and you looked at him incredulously. “Sato-”
Gojou interrupted you once more as he captured your lips with his own. A small whimper escaped from you as your mouths moved in sync. Opening his mouth slightly, he licked the icing off your soft lips. Your face grew warm as he only intensified the kiss. Gojou bit your bottom lip lightly before soothing it with another flick of his tongue. The kiss lasted a few more seconds before he backed away, leaving you breathless. Humming in satisfaction, he grinned at you. “Sweet~”
A bright blush had spread across your visage at his actions. Flustered, you buried your face in his shirt. “Satoru that’s not fair…” you couldn’t help but whine.
“You can’t blame me cupcake, you’re just too tempting for me to resist.”
“You’re not allowed to be in here anymore. You’re too distracting and will just keep stealing bites of the cookies and icing.”
“Aw, but I want to help my little kikufuku. You work too hard you know.”
“Who do you think I’m picking up the slack for?!”

EMMYYYYYYYY I LOVED IT! MY SPIDER HUSBAAAAAAND
“God, you always make me blush so damn much.” with Tsuchigomori for the 500 followers event please Emmy? I love you!
Tsuchigomori:
You were doing that lip thing again. Whenever you were concentrating on a certain subject, you had the habit of gnawing on your bottom lip. The corner of your eye would twitch, too. He had been watching you so intently that he had your ticks noted in the back of his brain.
Tsuchigomori internally groaned. This was stupid, not to mention pointless. What would staring at you bring? (The short answer was you giving him a bewildered look, but he already knew that.)
The sound of a groan brought him away from his train of thought. Now he was staring at you while you stretched. And now you were looking at him--not with bewilderment like he thought, actually curiosity--your head tilted. “Something wrong?”
A streak of light pink flared across his cheeks. He turned away, hoping and pleading you didn’t see the flush on his cheeks. “Uh, no.” He answered, clearing his throat. “Just thinking.”
You were a relatively new teacher. Despite the low amount of experience you’ve had as one, you were pretty good at what you did. Somehow you managed to keep students in check. Another thing he was in awe about--you weren’t annoyed at all by how your students acted. In fact, it was as if you could relate to them in one way or another.
Is that why you peaked his interest?
“Well something’s clearly on your mind,” he heard you say. Tsuchigomori sighed through his nose.
“Nope. Nothing.”
“You know, I may not look like it, but I’m a pretty good listener.” You stated, a gentle tone in your voice. There was your empathy.
Out of all the humans he had met, you were the one that was the most empathetic out of them all. Why did he find that cute?
If he was catching feelings for you, it wouldn’t end well. And he knew that. A Supernatural and a human? An immortal being and a mortal? It didn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that wouldn’t be a perfect combination. One grows older, the other...doesn’t.
But still...
‘God, you always make me blush so damn much,’ He thought.
“What was that?”
Oh, now his face was burning.
“Nothing!”
Did he seriously say that out loud?

You write for Dr. Stone, yes?
I do write for Dr. Stone. All my fandoms and info can be found under the “info” tag on my blog. Right now however, I’m focusing more on my 500 followers event. So if you request something out of that event you might have to wait a while. Info for that event can be found in one of my previous posts or just look up the tag “500 follower event”.

Prompt: Atsushi with Trope 9; Late night calls
You were woken up by the incessant buzzing of your phone. Groaning, you opened your eyes and struggled to focus your rather bleary vision. As you glanced at your bedside clock, you were just able to make out the numbers being displayed. You groaned. It was 3 in the morning.
Grumbling to yourself, you lazily leaned over and grabbed your phone sitting on the floor. The light from the screen illuminated your face. Blinking a few times to get used to the sudden brightness, you finally focused on the name being displayed. Concern flooded your veins.
It was your boyfriend, Atsushi.
Quickly tapping the “pick up” icon, you brought it up to your ear. “Hello? Atsushi-kun?” you said.
From the other side of the phone, you could hear him breathing slightly heavily. You grew even more worried. Normally, he would never call you this late. Atsushi was a bit of a nervous person after all. He was always concerned that you would get mad if he disturbed your sleep. And normally you would. For anyone but Atsushi that is.
You were just about to say something again when you heard him take a deep breath. “Y/n-san…” he muttered. “I’m sorry did I wake you?”
“Mm… yeah but it’s really o-”
“I’m sorry Y/n-san! I knew calling you in the middle of the night was a bad idea! I’ll call you back later,” your boyfriend cut you off in a panicked manner. His voice had gotten slightly higher as his anxiousness grew.
Atsushi,” you said firmly, causing him to fall quiet. “It’s really okay. I don’t mind. I know you wouldn’t call me unless it was something important.” There were a few more moments of silence until he let out a quiet “okay…” You smiled and shifted around, lying on your back instead. That way you could relax while still being able to talk to him. “Now why did you call me Atsushi-kun?”
“...I just had a bad dream,” Atsushi explained after a second of hesitation. “It made me worried about you. But I didn’t think going over to your place in the middle of the night would be smart. So I thought calling you would be the second-best idea.” His voice remained slightly nervous as if he still thought you would get mad at him.
“What was your dream about?” you asked curiously. He fell silent again and you grew worried once more. “Atsushi…?”
He took in a shaky breath. “We were walking around in the streets. You had wanted to go shopping and asked if I could accompany you. You wanted to quickly check out one of the stores across the street and asked if I could wait at a cafe. I had agreed and you went off. But…” Atsushi paused again, trying to calm himself. “When you were coming back. A car had run a red light. It hit you. I felt so helpless as I saw the whole thing happen in front of me. I couldn’t move, couldn’t activate my ability to help you. People were screaming and I remembered I was holding you in my arms as you were bleeding out.”
“Atsushi…” you whispered.
“It just made me realize anything could happen… You’re already in danger because of the Port Mafia. They could so easily kill you. Not that I’m implying you’re not strong because you are, but you don’t have an ability and I can’t help but worry. I’m just so worried I’m going to lose you. You’re one of the best things that has happened to me. If you were to die I wouldn’t know what to do…” he rambled. His voice cracked every so often and you wished you could give him a hug. He was clearly distressed and usually, the easiest way to calm him down was physical touch. But this time you’d just have to try your best using your words.
“Atsushi. I’m right here. I’m not dead, you haven’t lost me,” you began. “I know anything could happen. And I know you worry about me because I don’t have an ability. But I believe you and the others can protect me just fine. I feel safe around you, Atsushi. I know you won’t let anything happen to me.”
“But-”
You sat up, leaning your forehead on one of your propped up knees. “No buts. Yes, things can happen. But just because they can, does that mean we should stop living our lives? No. Some things are unavoidable but we can always take precautions to stay safe,” you said. “You’re around me most of the time anyways, Atsushi. And when you’re away the others are perfectly capable. I work at the agency, I’m surrounded by ability users. I’ll be fine. I promise I’ll also be careful when you’re not around.”
“Y/n-san…” Atsushi muttered. “You’ve always been good at calming me down haven’t you.” His breathing was now at a more normal pace, which made you smile slightly.
“Well you do have a habit of panicking a little at times, so I had to get used to it when I started dating you,” you chuckled.
Atsushi let out a small huff of amusement. “I guess so. Although I like to think I’ve gotten a bit better at staying calm.”
There was another lull in the conversation before you spoke up again. “Hey, Atsushi-kun?”
“Yes Y/n-san?”
“I love you. And I’m not going anywhere. I’m going to stay by your side.”
“...I love you too Y/n-san. And I promise I’ll protect you to the best of my ability.”

500 Followers Celebration Event!
Tumblr media
If someone were to tell me when I first started this blog back in January, that in 9 months I would reach 500 followers I would laugh at them. I really didn’t expect so many people to enjoy my work and I appreciate every single follower, like, and reblog. Being able to write for my favourite fandoms and see people genuinely like it has been such a blessing. So thank you everyone.
Of course this post isn’t going to be completely sentimental. As shown by the picture in the beginning of this post I am holding a celebration event! So here is what this event will involve:
There will be 2 lists you can choose from, tropes or aus. These lists contain 10 common tropes and 10 aus.
You guys can send in a character (from one of the fandoms I write for), a number from 1-10, and which list you would like to choose from. The number you pick will correspond to a trope or au on the lists I have.
When you send that request in I will write a short oneshot that involves that character and the au or trope chosen. These requests will be prioritized on my lists of things to write.
One number can only be chosen once. After that au or trope is taken it will not be available anymore.
I will be taking 10 initial requests and then once are done I will open up requests again with the remaining tropes and aus available.
I hope you guys enjoy this event! Once again thank you for 500 followers!
Available Aus: 1, 2, 4, 8, 9, 10
Available Tropes: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 10

Favourite colours: purple and red
Last Song: Core Pride by UVERworld
Last Movie: The second Gintama movie (got severe emotional whiplash from that)
Last TV show: Soul Eater (I think? Or it could have been Haikyuu I’m not sure)
Sweet, spicy, or savory: Sweet or spicy, although I tend to crave sweets more
Bubble water, tea, or coffee: Tea AND coffee! I like both for different reasons, although I do tend to drink tea more due to bubble tea. (What is bubble water? Is that like carbonated water?)
