I hate the “open floor plan” that everyone is obsessed with in houses now. I want nooks and crannies and bizarre floor plans. I don’t need to be able to see what someone is doing on the other side of the house. I want places to hide and lurk and dwell in the shadows. I am the beast who awaits in the labyrinth

Das deutsche Pendant zu Les Miserables ist ein achtstündiges Stück über die Revolution von 1848. Es hat mehr Charaktere als Krieg und Frieden and after three hours it just devolves into incomprehensible leftist infighting. Am Ende boykottieren sich alle Fraktionen gegenseitig und gehen nach Hause.

He sobbed on that dungeon floor
He ignored his brother's call at the end of the world and SOBBED on that dungeon floor
Do you understand?
THE WORLD MIGHT AS WELL HAVE ALREADY ENDED FOR HIM
HE WAS SOBBING ON THAT DUNGEON FLOOR

As important as explicit gay rep is, nothing will ever be funnier to me than an entire fandom collectively deciding a relationship between two characters is gay without even a shred of subtext

anyway the actual point of fandom is to inspire each other. reading each other's fics and admiring each other's art and saying wow i love this and i feel something and i want to invoke this in other people, i want to write a sentence that feels like a meteor shower, i want to paint a kiss with such tenderness it makes you ache, i want to create something that someone else somewhere will see it and think oh, i need to do that too, right now. i am embracing being a corny cunt on main to say inspiring each other is one of the things humanity is best at and one of the things fandom is built for and i think that's beautiful

I know everyone says it’s best to just stick to “said” as a dialogue tag bc it disappears and that’s true and I mostly do but I want to take a moment for my all-time favorite dialogue tag, “lied.” Absolutely nothing hits like “‘I’m here to help,’ he lied.” NOTHING.

my new Destiel theory: Dean couldn't say I love you not because of his own denial of the fact but because Chuck refused to write it like Chuck's weird psycho-sexual obsession with Dean made him so twisted that rather than allow his character to follow a natural arc that the character itself wanted to follow (see s8 rewrite of "I love you" into "I need you"), he just kept dodging it through increasingly ridiculous and pathetic ploys. he couldn't bear to watch Dean choose free will (Cas) over his heavenly ordained plan, so he just kept fucking with their relationship (see every divorce/widower arc, and all the other will they/won't they shit). really puts Cas's "What's real? We are." into context. like they are, in fact, the only real thing, despite Chuck's attempts to dismantle their relationship.
