PSA! If you're a returning tumblr user, and your Desktop Theme Had Tag links, for you followers to use, you MAY HAVE TO EDIT THEM.

I just checked my desktop top theme, and i have an updates tab in my top right corner, where i have a few commonly used tags listed. But they don't work now.

Why? Well because tumblr changed how the tag system works. if you use multi-word tags with spaces, e.g. "#text post" the old way to link to those posts no longer works.

the old way that used to work before the change:

"yourURL/tagged/two-words/"

The hypen doesn't work anymore and u have to use the URL encoding code for "space" now, instead. The code is "%20"

So your tag urls in your links should now be this:

"yourURL/tagged/two%20words/"

Hope y'all that still use nice desktop themes with tag lists see this, and find it helpful!

eventually i want to organize myself, and make a tag page for all my blogs, and stuff like that, like how i used to back before December 2018 happened, but it was so much easier to do so on desktop...

if you search a tag on someone's blog on the mobile app it will show you only a selection of posts in an inscrutably random order but if you go to a mobile browser and type [blog url].tumblr.com/tagged/[tag] you will get all posts on that blog with that tag in reverse chronological order. if you add /chrono behind it you get them in regular chronological order. naturally this works in desktop browsers too but i know many people are mobile only these days and the app's built in tag search is shit so this knowledge is vital to your survival
