Currently planning for what the future of my apothecary looks like. How do I want it to look when I open it back up? How can I make sure I don’t get overwhelmed? I do miss making remedies, but I know I need to focus on myself right now as an herbalist, as a healer. I want to focus on making sure my clients get a holistic experience with me during their consultations. Its so crazy because now that its closed, so many people have visited the site. One day I will fully open the store again, but for now I do what I can. Consultations are still available.

When the coronavirus temporarily shuttered businesses across the country, Alexi Minko was nearly ready to give up on his bar, Alibi Lounge.
“I was 75% done with the business,” Minko said to NowThis. “I was wondering, was it worth it?”
But after a prolific GoFundMe campaign and what he describes as a renewed sense of responsibility, Minko said Alibi Lounge is thriving, even in the middle of a pandemic.
[...]
This March, Alibi Lounge temporarily closed due to the coronavirus. Minko said he was rejected twice for assistance from the federal Paycheck Protection Program, which chains including Shake Shack and Ruth’s Chris Steak House were not. He then reached out to the Small Business Association's Network for LGBT Businesses and got approved for a PPP loan.

Is your Hoodoo Library still open? ☆
Absolutely! It just takes me time to go through applications and process them all. I look at every single one by hand, and sometimes I receive ones where I need to reach out for clarification or ones that are straight up from people who aren’t black/of African descent (these are rejected). I processed 100+ last night since June 27th, so all Library membership requests from yesterday or earlier are done. Thank you for your patience :)
P.S. Everyone who leaves me really thoughtful notes and who shares about their stories and heritage with me or even just little things about their journey, I appreciate you so much!! When I’m going through processing all these applications, seeing those messages and hearing from yall gives me more joy than I can describe and helps keep me motivated every time ❤️

IMPACT READING FOR BLACK TRANS TRAVEL FUND
Tumblr media
Thank you for your donation to the Black Trans Travel Fund, a mutual-aid project developed in order to help provide Black transgender women with the financial resources needed to be able to self-determine safer alternatives to travel, where women feel less likely to experience verbal harassment or physical harm.
Donate ANY amount directly to an organization that supports Black Trans communities and/or efforts to defund the police and dismantle the systematic racism in the American justice system, and I’ll give you a tarot or scrying reading! Click here to learn how.

You asked what to do with your current spiritual momentum. For this question, I pulled two cards from the Buddha Tarot, which uses stories from the Buddha’s life and Buddhist Sutras to share wisdom and lessons from the buddha dharma.
The Flaming Disk is similar to the Tower - it represents tranformation, change, and letting go of your ego and pride to move into a whole new level of spiritual awakening. The card depicts the moment from the Buddha’s life just before he reaches enlightenment as he meditates beneath a tree. Siddhartha has one last obstacle in his way: the demon Mara hurls a large flaming disk at him. Instead of running or defending himself, Siddhartha recognizes that the flames are not actually a danger and in a moment of complete unattachment he lets go and flower petals rain down on him instead of fire.
With this card reversed, you are seeing something in your life as flames instead of flowers. This is your sign or nudge that whatever is scaring you or worrying you the most in moving forward in your spiritual journey can’t actually hold you back from making progress. Knowing this, take the plunge in whatever you’ve been seeking to do and let go of the concerns that have been keeping you from it. It may be difficult or very challenging, but if you do so you’ll be able to grow to the next level in your practice.
The second card I pulled is the Six of Double Vajras. The suite of Double Vajras is about taking action, and for this card it’s about motherly action. Someone in your life (could be any gender or relation to you) is trying to bring some nuturing, loving energy into your life. You have someone looking out for you who wants to help support you. I have a sense that it may be a spirit of someone you know who has passed away or an ancestor who wants to come forward for you and let you know that you’re not alone in the challenges in your plate at the moment. If you are comfortable doing so, I recommend following up on that with a prayer of acknowledgement and gratitude or a small offering to say thank you.

Hi, I’m Ryan and I am a 19 year old African American woman. I own this clothing store - antisocial-mind.myshopify.com - I give 15-50% of my profits to low poverty black children and women ( masks hot meal vouchers clothes etc). I also have the direct fund page for the children just in case people don’t want to buy anything : https://www.gofundme.com/f/aid-for-black-children-masks-x-clothing-x-food?utm_medium=copy_link&utm_source=customer&utm_campaign=p_na+share-sheet&rcid=74fafe3a18c44d2b9a183d7e3948b311 . I wanted to know if you could just tell some people you’d think would support seeing as you have such a big following, it would honestly help so many and it means the world to me. Thank you if so. ♥️🖤💙💜💛💚.

any mention of black lives matter has disappeared off my dashboard so i thought y'all might want to know that police stormed a peaceful vigil in memory of elijah mcclain, attacking mourners with pepper spray. families were there. children were affected. this movement isnt over just because it's no longer trendy.

Black student rootworkers: if you’re studying for a major test or you’re stuck on a problem with your homework, set up an altar for Web Du Bois. Print out your favorite picture of him. Set aside an apple, a glass of water, a white candle, and a white orchid flower. Pray to him. Say his name three times. Read your problem out loud and meditate on it. Do your essays or art project or math homework at the altar and let the black excellence flow right through you
