I'm curious about your COTS series. Specifically about the exact technique you are using. I assumed it was a long exposure that pans slowly over a seashore but then I realized that panning from a tripod would add curvature. Is it just stationary long exposure? Is it moving laterally with a gimbal? I'm just so fascinated by how clean they are.
Hi breeyzbaej, thanks for the question, and it has indeed been an interesting journey to get all the images looking as clean and "uniform" as they are. The images were created using several different techniques.
4 of the images are based on "normal" images and the look was created digitally. Most of the images are long exposures from a tripod. Some were made by hand, others with the help of a motorised turntable from edelkrone headOne. The camera was mounted on a slider to adjust the axis of rotation to the entrance pupil of the lens.  This reduces parallax errors and keeps the curvature uniform.
Other images were taken by placing the tripod on a handcart and using it as a dolly, using quite long exposure times of more than 20 seconds.
The images were then post-processed. In addition to the normal exposure, saturation and vividness adjustments, the artefacts caused by the technique used were removed.
Both manual techniques have different advantages and disadvantages. The swipe technique causes curvature, but can be used in almost any situation. The hand cart/dolly method requires a flat surface parallel to the horizon and results in only small vertical bumps that can be removed in post-processing with a simple blur. Eliminating curvature is a little more complicated, but there is a trick to it. Once you have created an almost straight image, remove the final wobbles by reducing the size twice. Reduce the image horizontally by a factor of >10 and then reduce it back to normal size.
I'll be at the seaside in a couple of weeks. I think I will make a little video showing how I create the images.
