y’all really claim you want equal representation in movies and media, and then turn every single white man into your favorite character. i’m tired of people of color being secondary characters in the fandom/public, even when they’re main characters in the story.

actually @ every fanfiction writer whether you wrote something that got thousands of reblogs and comments and became a staple in your fandom, or you wrote one fic and deleted it, or you write mutilchaptered fics that never get a final update, or write short fics, or long fics, or used to write and now you don’t, or you deleted/orphaned your works, or you only share with friends:
thank you.
sharing your writing is hard. and sometimes it’s thankless. sometimes it’s such a negative experience that I wonder how anyone does it at all. but you are needed; you are wanted. whether or not we properly acknowledge it, you are a vital part of fandom culture. thanks for sharing.

He is sunshine hair and swinging fists;
You are ice-chip eyes and a cocky grin.
He is honesty and sharp colours and a shining shield across a street;
You are lies and lurking shadows and a sniper’s scope on a rooftop.
He is forged in a flash of hot white light, reborn;
You are carved in cold frost and colder metal, reanimated.
He is not a perfect soldier, but a good man;
And you are a perfect soldier–but not a good man.
if he is everything good in this world, then you must be everything bad (j.p.)
