i think the funniest thing about sk8 was that the entire S community was constantly losing their fucking minds over langa and langa's only thought ever was "ok but what about REKI" like the most obvious instance was in ep10 when adam sees langa being sad and thinks he's nervous about the upcoming beef, whole time he's just not talked to reki in two days

as apathetic as saiki aims to be, i find him to be the most caring and kind person in the entire show (and in general). i was just rewatching s1ep6 and actually cried from how genuinely sweet he is. i think god knew that he was the only person in the world who would really never misuse his powers. even without them, i think he would be a wonderful friend.

- okay listen. saiki is bad at being subtle. especially when you're so oblivious. it just leads to So Much Chaos

- the fact that you just got out of a relationship makes it hard to pick up hints okay - anyways, saiki isn't focused on getting you to like him or anything. his "hints" just happen to slip out - but it's not just that, right? you're also best friends. SARCASTIC best friends. combine that with your self-deprecation and saiki's inability to handle romance and there's a disaster waiting to happen - you: ugh what if no one ever loves me for who i am? saiki: am i a joke to you? you: yeah saiki: fair enough - you: i hate my ex. i'm going to devote myself to making him regret this saiki: didn't you waste enough time in the relationship? you, now woke: holy shit you're right - you: saiki help me glow up saiki: there is literally nothing i can improve you: IS THAT A DISS? saiki: - he helps you through the breakup, too. in true best-friend fashion, when you call him in the middle of the night with the news, he's in your room within a second. he brings ice cream, a blanket, and for some reason, a cat. you don't even know where he got it from. but you needed it - for the next few days he buys you gifts (which you keep telling him you don't need) but he wants to remind you that even he can do the job of being a boyfriend better than your ex - all your mutual friends are like, how oblivious can she get? and since when is saiki so bold? - saiki has no idea this is a romantic thing to do. - i'll tell you this right now, saiki hates dancing. to him it's almost unnecessary. what's the use of wasting energy only to obtain nothing at all?

- at least that's what he thought. until he met you.

- you moved in a way that captivated, mesmerized, and fascinated him. he'd observe the way your hands would glide in the air and feet would leap into the sky in childlike awe. he never quite knew that humans could move like that

- but what affected him most was your smile. the smile that remained on your face after hours upon hours of rigorous practice, with sweat on your forehead and hair in your face. you smiled still, and joy radiated from your dance.

- he never knew how it got from there to here.

- you were a very active person. you danced when you felt like it, whether that was while brushing your teeth in the morning, or while waiting in line for coffee

- and god how he loved it when you danced. to others you may have appeared a bit eccentric, but he heard the music in your head, and he watched you tap your feet to the beat - you never dragged him into it in public because you knew he didn't like the attention, but at home, he's all yours - saiki almost never saw it coming, becomes dance is like a reflex to you. you don't think about it - like, while casually helping him get up from the floor, or handing him a snack, you gently lift him up and twirl him around. he catches on quick, and doesn't stop you. he used to, when it took him off-guard and confused him. but you slowly taught him to just let go and do as he liked, and eventually, he came to enjoy it - he wasn't a half bad dancer either. he moved slowly, sure, but there was a cautious grace to his movements, especially when he danced with you - he loved watching you laugh while dancing, whether it was with him or at him. to see you smile, he'd trip and fall a million more times - you even caught him enjoying it, a few times. mostly he'd dance just to amuse you, but sometimes, just sometimes- you saw a tiny smile peek through by itself. ❤

i can't stop thinking about saiki doing a goofy lil dance now omg the urge to animate kaidou forcing him to make a tiktok and him doing the bare minimum T-T

let’s ignore that i’m practically a year late (shit has been happening okay i’m graduating in two days) but let’s GO i am BACK (i think) and i recently rewatched saiki k so my love for it is as colorful as ever

meeting saiki’s parents

- ok this is gonna be so chaotic

- saiki absolutely does not want you meeting his parents because they Will embarrass him

- he’s not even worried that they won’t like you. they will. they’d probably like you if you turned up with a machete. his parents are just happy he has a girlfriend

- but after a lot of persistent hinting he finally invited you to his house for dinner

- you were SO excited omg

- but not more excited than saiki’s mom, who practically bought the whole grocery store

- saiki just wants to unalive

- when you finally go over and his mom opens the door she just kind of. stares. no greetings or anything

- you wave awkwardly

- “you’re dating saiki??? honey, come over here and look at this!!! she’s gorgeous!!! it’s a christmas MIRACLE”

- (it’s not even christmas. it’s april)

- you just stand there in the doorway with two awestruck adults staring at you for like a full minute 😭

- saiki finally comes downstairs and invites you in (much to your relief) and his parents apologize profusely because they hadn’t realized 💀

- they ask you ENDLESS questions about yourself with stars in their eyes

- they’re probably more in love with you than saiki tbh

- but you’re liking the energy so you don’t mind

- his dad is like “saiki pulled HER??? impossible. did you use mind control???”

- so saiki conveniently sends him to texas

- also saiki’s mom has apparently cooked enough food for jesus’ 12 disciples and you feel a bit guilty not being able to eat all of it

- saiki really just wants to get out of there as soon as possible so when you’re all done eating he quickly goes “okay, we’ll just be leaving th-” “you’re not going anywhere. (ಠ_ಠ)“

- of course, you end up staying for game night (where saiki pointedly wins all the games as soon as possible so the two of you can finally be alone)

- when it starts getting late, saiki’s mom insists saiki drop you back home. ideally he would’ve just teleported you, but since this gave him an excuse for some alone time, he could not agree fast enough

- welcome to the saiki family. you have no choice.

i had a dream last night

so akaashi is talking to me and bokuto at the mall, right? and suddenly he says that bokuto's brain has accidentally fallen out of his ear and we would have to look for it, or it would get lost.

bokuto and i get genuinely worried and start looking all over the place for his fallen brain, going in and out of all the stores. and bokuto is getting increasingly panicked. i open my phone and text my best friend about what's happening, and ask if she knows what to do in such a situation.

the friend says "what?"

i say, "we can't find it, help quickly!"

and she says, "do you have any idea what you're talking about?"

and i get annoyed and go, "okay you're useless, i'll go google it instead."

so i google, but there are no search results. and as i scroll through web pages upon web pages on brain and ear anatomy, it slowly dawns on me.

brains don't just accidentally "fall out of your ears".

i look at akaashi.

he looks back at me.

he is not laughing. he holds the disappointed air of someone who expected better, and has been irrevocably let down. i smile sheepishly. somewhere, in the far distance, bokuto calls out, "found it yet?"

- he loves indian sweets because they are so overwhelmingly sweet like there are no hidden flavors in most of them, just pure heaven

- after a lot of dates and taste-testing you've concluded that his favorite sweets are gulab jamun (its color reminds him of coffee jelly), jalebi (he loves the funky shape), certain laddoos, specific flavors of barfi, and rasgullas (they're so white. and plain. but so wonderful)

- eats soan papdi straight out of the box like it's cereal (as he should)

- whenever y'all go on dates he always orders dessert, without fail- no matter how much of a hurry you're in, he will have dessert

- on the topic of dates, let me tell you, this man loves indian food in general, because of all the range in flavor (food is the only thing he has left in his life, let him have it </3)

- you showed him dilwale dulhania le jayenge once (more as an joke-initiation ritual than anything tbh) but he unexpectedly cried at the end ("it's my pollen allergy acting up" sure saiki)

- he watches a lot of bollywood movies now, claiming he's doing it "ironically" (that's what they all say)

- he loves seeing you in desi clothes, he thinks they're super dignified and graceful (especially if they're like, fancy or sparkly. saiki loves funky stuff and i will die on this hill)

- when you're talking to your family/friends in a desi language he's always awestruck "how you talk that fast goddamn"

- he loves going to like those places with miles upon miles of street food stalls, and he'll try his best to taste everything

- you warn him it might not be healthy but the guy is immortal lol he does not care
