Trio at its finest [Dan Heng/March 7/GN!Reader]

Relationship headcanons

Notes: It’s been a while since I last wrote anything. But since I’ve been addicted to HSR, why not make a fic for it. Hope ya’ll like it!

Warning: Maybe a few curse words here and there. Slight spoilers for March and Dan Heng’s character story (very small, didn’t go into detail).

Disclaimer: Reader is not Trailblazer MC. Polyamory relationship between these three.

We all know that it was March who instigated this relationship or otherwise this setup wouldn’t have existed in the first place. I mean, have you seen or interacted with Dan Heng? This boy will mind his own damn business and not care much about other people unless it involves a mission.

Let’s put a twist in this fairytale. Let’s say March and Dan Heng were in a relationship already when they met you. Now I won’t explain how they got into a relationship, I’ll leave it up to your imaginations.

Now when they met you, it was March who found you cute. But when she felt her heart thump in your presence, she panicked. She immediately confessed to Dan Heng about how she felt towards you, but she reassured him that she loves him too… it's complicated like every relationship in existence-

Anyway, the reaction of Dan Heng. Was he angry? Did he feel cheated on? No. He calmly explains to March about the concept of loving two people at the same time, and to our surprise, introduces to her the concept of Polyamory. When he was done teaching her about these concepts, they both stared at each other before.

“Are you fine with Polyamory, Dan Heng? I know you’re a bit… sensitive to other people already.” - March

“If it makes you happy, I’ll be fine sharing you with them.” - Dan Heng

He says this, yes, but he didn’t expect to catch feelings for you too. After March came crashing to his room (aka the archives) with you in tow, dragging you inside as March excitedly told Dan Heng how you accepted her confession and setup. Now don’t get me wrong, he didn’t fall for you immediately. That’s not Dan Heng style. No no. He falls, slowly but surely, until it hits him like a truck. It's essentially the same concept as when she fell first (March), and he fell harder (Dan Heng).

Now onto the actual relationship.

As expected, March is the most affectionate between these two. Loves to have skin to skin contact with you (holding hands, intertwined pinkies, you get the gist), like it calms her down knowing that you’re there beside her. So touch-starved after being imprisoned in ice for god knows how long. She’s also the kind to surprise you with kisses and hugs, dw she does the same with Dan Heng. One time, she tries to recreate the infamous Spider-man scene (upside down kiss) only to fail miserably, pouting as she watches you and Dan Heng trying to conceal ya’lls amusement (Dan Heng was good at hiding his amusement but you?)

Dan Heng is a bit lacking on the affectionate side, a complete contrast to March. But it’s not because he doesn’t want to give you affection, no no, he’s just uncharacteristically shy. At the beginning, he doesn’t pay you any mind since it was March who wanted to have a relationship with you. But as time passes by, he grows soft towards you. Very rarely does he instigate any affection at first, preferring you to do it first and he’ll follow suit. But once he’s able to discern what you like and dislike, he starts to make the first moves. Though unfortunately no surprise hugs or kisses, he always makes sure you’re aware of what he’s doing before doing them.

“Where’s my hug too?” - March

“You’ve already gotten one when you barged in my room, demanding your, I quote “daily dose of affection” from me.” - Dan Heng

“That doesn’t count” - March

Do they fight over your affection? Sometimes. This duo is touch-starved, it's still up to debate on who’s more touch-starved but for now, it doesn’t matter. Depends if both of them are feeling playful, which happens rarely since yk Dan Heng. But in the instance that they both are, boy, you better be prepared. They're both fighting like two children fighting over a favorite toy. It’s quite amusing to the rest of the Astral Express family, seeing March and Dan Heng arguing while you stand in the middle with a face of ‘help-me’.

“It’s still my turn with them!” - March

“I need them in the archives, March. It’s important” - Dan Heng

“Important, my ass! You just want to spend time with them!” - March

“First, you’ve been with them for the past two hours. So it’s technically my turn with them. Second, think whatever you want, I’m not gonna deny or agree with any of them. So, give them to me.” - Dan Heng

“Too bad! It’s a no!” - March

Dan Heng is the stoic protector of you two. He’s protective over you and March, and tries to always stick by you two’s sides. He’s the kind to pull you or March’s arm towards him if he feels that either of you are straying too far from his side. Also the kind to pull you two behind him when danger appears. Let him get hit, let him shoulder every wound and attack, but god forbid that either of you gets hurt under his watch.

Speaking of danger, it's usually March who gets in danger, much to Dan Heng’s dismay. So hopefully, you aren’t the same or else Dan Heng is getting gray hairs from taking care of you two (debatable if it's fondly or not). If you are, I can imagine you and March just running away from whatever shenanigans you or she did at that time (Dan Heng watches from the distance, thinking whether or not to help you two. Dw he does eventually)

Adding to the fact that you and March often get in trouble too and Dan Heng coming to clear the mess you two had created, it becomes like an entertainment to the astral express crew.

March shares with you the juice she loves drinking, since in her mind, if she loves something, she has to share it with you and Dan Heng! But since Dan Heng isn’t that fond of the juice she’s drinking, she just shares it with you. She would be delighted if you show up with a juice in your hand after she whines to Pompom how she’s craving juices right now.

Now for Dan Heng, as much as he loves March and her extrovertness, he also prefers the peace and quiet of his room. Being an introvert is hard yk, especially if you’re not used to the noise. So he would appreciate it if you were spending time with him in his room in silence, not much talking except short conversations here and there. If you decide to sit on his lap while he works, he wouldn’t deny you. Pulls you closer to him as he types away on the computer.

Okay, so it’s obvious which room has the best sleeping quarters right? Unless you want to suffer back pains from the uncomfortable “bed” that is in the archives.

“It serves its purpose” - Dan Heng

“The only thing it serves is causing back pains the next morning” - March

Moving on, the room of March is the top candidate where you three can sleep on an actual comfortable bed. It’s a bit small for sure, but nothing like a bit of adjustment in sleeping position can fix! It usually results in both March and you just laying on either side of Dan Heng or one of you laying on top of him while the other by his side. However since Dan Heng sometimes overworks himself and spends the entire night in his room, it's you and March cuddling with each other in her bed. Though you two do sometimes manage to convince Dan Heng to rest, with a lot of persuasion and stuff knowing how stubborn the man can be (March complains like she isn’t stubborn as well).

When Dan Heng is plagued with nightmares, he wakes up in the middle of the night in cold sweat. It’s usually you who wakes up from the sudden movement since March is one hell of a heavy-sleeper. Try your best to calm him down, ground him to reality, comfort him and stuff, he would greatly appreciate it. He calms down significantly faster if you press his ear on your chest, right above your heart. The beating of your heart calms him, and most often he falls asleep in that position. In one rare case that March wakes up when Dan Heng wakes up from the nightmare, she helps him as you go out to get water. She tries to calm him down without you, and he does. He trusts March and you in his vulnerable state, letting his walls that surround his heart fall in front of you two. This is when he’s most clingy.

Speaking of a vulnerable state, let's talk about how they open up their pasts to you. March is the first one obviously, she trusts you and Dan Heng a lot. Though the latter is pretty much aware of March's story since he was there when the astral express found her encased in ice, he was there to offer comfort and love. Now, for Dan Heng, as expected, it took a while for him to open up his past. I wouldn’t be surprised if it happened after Xianzhou Luofu’s mission.

When they are assigned to go to Jarilo VI without you, they both were disappointed, more so March who expressed it by whining loudly and clinging to you. Dan Heng, on the other hand, expressed it mentally but it is a bit obvious with how he clings to you as well. They are both spending time with you as much as possible before departing to Jarilo-VI, and when it's time to go, they won’t let go of your hands much to the amusement of the astral express crew plus the additional Trailblazer. Dan Heng placed a kiss on your knuckle before letting go. March whines once more before placing a kiss on your cheek, promising you souvenirs and pictures of the planet.

When they both are alone together without you, they always make sure to mention your name at least once in the conversation as a means to comfort each other that you won’t be forgotten if you aren’t there physically (why are they making you seem like you died? They're dramatic thats why). If Trailblazer ever asked about you to either of them, it’ll end with a long discussion of you (March gushing about you to them while Dan Heng unintentionally spills more than he wants).

Once their done with the mission, they went to town to buy souvenirs for you (and the astral express crew, can’t forget about them)

“Oohh, do you think they would like this? Wait, don’t answer that. I’m buying it anyway.” - March

“I’ll get this book for them then.” - Dan Heng

When they come back, expect March to run up to you and knock you over, hugging you tightly while crying out loud about how much she misses you. Dan Heng quickly rushes over, trying to get his lover to stop suffocating his other lover. But the one thing they both agreed on is rushing you to March’s room for cuddles. It’s been a week without you, who cares about important matters when you’re important to them (despite Dan Heng’s mind berating him to do his work but he shuts it off as he enjoys giving and receiving affection from you and March).

Overall, this relationship is cute. You have both an extrovert and an introvert. Treasure them, okay? You might never know what’ll happen as your next destination seems to be Xianzhou Luofu, where Dan Heng’s past may come back biting him from behind…
