Yuri, a modern teenager, is transported to ancient Anatolia as part of a scheme by the evil Nakia, queen of the Hittites. Only the intervention of Nakia’s stepson, Prince Kail, saves Yuri from the queen’s bloodthirsty intentions. As an unintended consequence, the people of the kingdoms of Anatolia embrace Yuri as the incarnation of the great war goddess Ishtar.

Before she has any idea what fate awaits her, Yuri is ecstatic after passing her college entrance exam and having her first kiss with her childhood friend-turned-boyfriend. However, her luck soon changes. She starts to notice that water becomes agitated whenever she goes near it. One night, hands appear out of a puddle on the street and drag her into the water! Transported to an ancient village in the Middle East, she is then captured by armed troops and taken to the queen’s palace, where an unexpected adventure begins!

Some extremely sad news to share - Mangaka Hinako Ashihara, best known in the US for her shoujo work like Sand Chronicles and Forbidden Dance (originally Angel's Kiss in Japan), has died from suspected suicide. Her latest series in Japan, Sexy Tanaka-san, has recently gotten a live-action drama series. But behind the scenes, the production has been riddled with problems. Ashihara had expressed in a now-deleted blog post the scripts where not what she was promised out of the adaptation, which she later apologized for, saying she hadn't meant to sound like she was attacking the staff of the TV show.

People speculate that all these issues most likely lead to feelings of despair, though we don't know the full details and possibly never will. Whatever happened, it is a true tragedy and Ashihara will be deeply missed.

I love all the requests for Red River, Basara, Library Wars and From Far Away. Back then Shojo Beat licensed a lot of really good series. Nowadays I don't find anything interesting that I want to pick up. Is Tail of the Moon OOP too? That was a good one, too.

I only wanted the comb and rubber keychains, but when I found out these were only ¥100 each, I had to grab more 🤣

My initial impressions:

Not sure if you can tell from the photo but these stickers are disappointing! They didn't use a high quality image so these stickers came out fuzzy 🙁

The ¥100 acrylic stands are so adorably cute.
