Part 4:

Minho’s POV:

I can't believe this, why, why of all the people I have to be the one who sees these messed up things?, “you sure that was a mermaid?” I asked the person for like the fifth time, the guy was terrified, “yes I swear it had a blue tail and black hair, and red eyes, I don't know the exact way she looked, do you think I'm crazy too?” I sighed again and rubbed my temple, “no sir, for the last time I don't think you're crazy, trust me they very much do exist.. And I'll take your case and investigate don't worry” with that I got up and left the buzzing coffee shop.

A few days ago if someone told me that mermaids existed id likely slap there face, but now *sigh* id believe them, totally not giving another minute of thought, I walk on the pavement the sun setting on me, mind thinking of my next destination, but my mind was now clouded with weird thoughts

What if Y/n is in danger?

What if I made a mistake in judging Han ?

What if he's the one who's behind all the killing and disappearance?

And why in the world was this all hidden?, why did the police not investigate this, my head was spinning and I realized that I had walked all the way to the beach, obviously I cant investigate this, the murder was like a month ago there might be no evidence, I got to head home, the file was in my hand, the cold breeze was blowing through my hair, unlike Y/n she gets relaxed when the cold breeze hits her but not me i get more anxious of what's gonna happen next.

I got home and just stood before the door for a minute. I needed to collect my thoughts before I saw him.

Han ’s Pov;

She ran away, SHE LITERALLY RAN AWAY…….. I mean I was kind of expecting it but still, I sigh as my hands go on my neck, did i…. Did I perhaps mess..up?, did she not like it?, or was it too soon?.... Come on Han Jisung, how could you not have read the mood? As I was about to swear at myself again, the door opened, I turned to see who it was and saw Minho Hyung standing outside, glaring at me. I swear if human eyes were replaced with laser beams, I would have been dead long ago.

Taking that as a clue to leave, I turn around and slowly walk to the bathroom. “We need to talk,” He said, “gosh I'm dead” I whispered under my breath “not yet” he said and went outside 

ears of a bat .

I followed him outside and we walked for a while, after several minutes of walking Minho Hyung stopped dead in his track, and i did the same, mind filled with endless thoughts of what's gonna happen, he turns around and looks at me, no he stares at me, he gives me a full scan and then opens the file in his hand, and then shoves it in my direction, I take the file and blink a bit.

Why would he give me this?

Putting my thoughts aside, I scan my eyes over it “was it you” he asks, i look up “what?” I ask giving him a full confused look, “wait you cant read” he says and brings his hand forward, but I retreat a bit “I can, we sirens learn how to read and write, for crisis like this” I say “and this file is talking about a mysterious murder at sea by a mermaid, so what do I have to do with it” I ask, He looks at me again, this time with a look of confusion “well your the only mermaid I meat so…. Be honest is it you”

To be honest at that exact moment I wanted to pick up a rock and hit it hard on the nearest jellyfish, but this is not the proper moment to lose it Han  so I sighed instead “I really don’t know why humans compare us with mermaids, “look Hyung mermaids and Sirens are different mermaids are scarier and are more close to a fish and we Sirens look more like humans, and I can tell you this was done by a mermaid because mermaids eat human hearts in hopes to become like them they are highly stupid….if you need my help to crack this case I’ll help” I said moving my hands in many ways possible, he looked at the floor and then went in a deep trail of thought, which trust me was a long wait.

“Okay fine I trust you for now, and yes I need your help tomorrow at 5 pm k” I nodded and we headed back. I hope whoever was the victim did not die in the sea or near it

Y/n’s POV:

I was startled, confused, happy many emotions in one and who wouldn’t be after that kiss especially, I look at Darong who was sleeping peacefully while I sat at the chair at the corner of my room mind drifting in my thoughts, in moments like these I wanna take a walk by the sea but I can’t cuz he might be sleeping on the couch which is near the door to be honest I don’t have the guts to even pass by there. God. No 

If Minho found out about this he is gonna kill him. I shook my head, sweet thoughts Y/n sweet thoughts, I mean by now everyone should know that I’m an over thinker. An over thinker of extreme level. I slowly opened the door and peeked outside to see the lights off, which meant it was pretty dark, so I can slowly sneak out and make my way to the beach.

I do exactly that, in the execution of my plan I slowly tiptoe my way to the door and lucky me I make it, now the challenge was opening the door cuz the damn door makes too much noise for mere simple movement, let’s just hope he’s a deep sleeper, I slowly open the door a little and squeeze my way outside, I close the door and sigh in relief and make my way to the beach and sit down in the cold soft sand.

It’s so peaceful, that I never realized it, suddenly I feel a small sting in my right hand I look at it but can’t see anything, must be a muscle pain I sigh and divert my attention back to the sea, the reason why I’m afraid of the sea is sharks lol I think everyone has the same reason. “It’s nice isn't it?” a voice behind me says I turn around to see my brother standing and smiling with a blanket in his hands, he sits down and places the blanket on both of our shoulders.

“Hey” I say softly as he replies back with a smile “nice to see you enjoying the moment” he says and I smile we both sit there silently staring at the endless sea “what really brings you here if it’s me I should tell you I’m perfectly capable of handling myself” I say he laughs and ruffles my hair “I know, I know and no I didn't come here because of you I was posted here” he says and I give my eyes a little squint to indicate that I don’t believe you “what?” He says laughing, I sigh and look at the sea “I don’t know why they would send Korea's greatest detective to a place where crime hardly happens” I say as I hear him sigh “same I don’t even know too but hey isn't it good I’m here we’ll get to spend some quality family time” he says “yeah” I answer silently. 

Then we go back to being silent, after few moments of dead but peaceful silence “if there’s anything that’s bothering you, know that I’m waiting throughout the season” he says and I stop remembering the story of the flower that waited for the Prince through all the seasons, I smile

He remembers 

“And I will always be there for you, waiting through all the seasons” I smile and put my head on his shoulder.

“I’m Glad your here”

The next day comes by pretty quickly, as we all get dressed up and sit on the table, barely meeting eyes with Han , but I could make out the blush on his face and I chuckle a little, so I’m not the only one.

“I’m hungry what should we eat” after a whole day of being locked in my room reading, skimping breakfast we all sat down to decide what to eat, after moments of brainstorming I come up with an idea “I know a good chicken place here” I say as both Han  and Minho’s eyes light up, I laugh a little they look like small puppy’s wagging their tails at the sound of treat.

We all got up and headed to get ready and wear our shoes. The sky was clear today, our walk was as silent as the grave itself but none of us complained.

“We’re here” I announced as I hoped in front of the door, nothing makes me more happy than chicken itself, I pushed the door open and made my way in the shop, the shop was quiet not a soul in sight 

Is he not here?

Suddenly a loud thud came from the kitchen and I ran, my first guess was that halmonie fell, my second guess was it was a ghost. As I got to the kitchen San sat on the ground looking at the dishes which were now half broken and half not, “Are you okay?” I said as he looked up at me surprised, I went to his side, “yeah I’m fine, how come your here you should have called me up is everything okay?” He asked as I helped him up, he brushed his knees with his hands, I smiled at the kindness and nodded my head “we came here to have some chicken” I said San placed the last dish in the bin and gave me a questioning look “we?” He asked and glanced behind me to see Han  leaning on the door and my brother looking at the now cleaned floor with awe, “uhhh hello Han  and…..officer Minho?” He said, I turned to my brother as he smiled and waved at San, “you guys know each other?” Me and San said at the same time to each other, I smiled “yeah he’s my brother” I said, “ohhh well we met at the grocery store he helped me drop some heavy boxes to the shop” he said, which pretty much cleared up everything.

The table was filled with chicken and we all sat down including San, “thanks for the food” we all said and San smiled, the chicken was so good, I reached out for another one but my hand touched something I looked up to see Han ’s hand was upon my hand and his eyes were now on me, I silently withdraw my hands, and stare at my plate, Han  picks up the chicken and silently places it in my plate and gets up “Minho Hyung let’s go it’s 5pm”. I stop and for the first after a while I stare at him and then my brother, “where are you guys going?” I asked, Minho got up and placed his chair back “I have something I need his help with, bye San '' he smiled and they left.

“So they look close” San said and to be honest I wanted to laugh at that thought, “you think?” I said as I went back to eating my chicken, San looked up, “what they aren't?” he said but I'll leave him to figure that out

Han ’s POV:

It was now 6, the sun was almost about to set and yet we found nothing, to be honest how could we, the mermaid would have escaped a long time ago, but still we looked around the beach again and again, “I guess that sums up our search, we found nothing” Hyung said and kept on walking at a steady pace, “we still haven't checked out that cave yet” I said and pointed at the cave in front of us, he looked at the cave then back at me, “you sure?” he said and I nodded.

The cave was dimly lit, we looked not to sharply, but found nothing, “let's go home” Hyung said as he sighed, I nodded as we started to head back, when we heard a voice, the voice sounded like someone was struggling, the both of us turned our heads towards the sound, Hyung started to walk towards it when I stopped him “let me” I said as I told him to close his ears as tight as he could, and he gave me a questioning look but did what I said. I opened my mouth and started to sing, a siren's voice can also enchant mermaids/merman's, my words coming out as a sweet command, this was the same song I used to enchant Y/n but it somehow didn't work on her, my voice echoed in the caves, I played with the words and started to slowly walk towards the now quiet struggling sound, and as I thought we found our culprit, a mermaid stuck in a fishnet, her eyes were now yellow gold, hypnotized by my song, with my hand I motioned for Hyung to come, when he came near and saw the mermaid his eyes widened, not at her beauty (cuz they aren't pretty), with that we carried her home still hypnotized.

Y/N’S POV:

I came back home tired, but me and San had lots of fun, I walked in and Darong came running but then she stopped and looked at me and then went back “HEY WHO DID YOU EXPECT” I yelled, she must have been expecting Han  for sure the two of them are close now I guess, I rubbed the back of my neck, boy was I tired, I went to my room and placed my bag on the bed and went to the bathroom.

I washed my face and stared at my reflection, black hair coming out of my headband a little, I should take a bath. I thought and went to the bath to fill it up, but what I saw there was unbelievable.

“AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH”

Y/n’s POV:

THERE WAS A FREAKING MERMAID IN MY BATHTUB, I tumbled back about to slip I close my eyes, but that contact with the floor never came I slowly open my eyes to see myself in Han ’s arms, I look up to see wide eyes as if he was in shock, Minho came running “WHAT WHAT!?” he said, as Han  lets go of me and I stand up, clearing my throat I look at the creature now glaring and hissing at us, “why is there a mermaid in my bathtub?” I ask pointing at the creature, and looking at Han , he glances at my brother then at the mermaid “well…..ask your brother” he says turning away, Ask my brother, why I mean why would he…

I turn to my brother, and he gives Han  a panicked look, then scratches his head “well it's complicated but, there was this unsolved case I got and it involved a certain mermaid killing people, so I asked Han  to help me crack it and we found her and so here we are now” he said, his voice getting faint after every word, after that he looks at the ground like I've scolded him for stealing candy or something.

I sigh averting my gaze to the mermaid, “okay fine but .. both of you .. stop looking like kicked dogs” I say as my brother, Han  and I head outside the bathroom i carefully close the door, “*yawn* I'm gonna go sleep then, night” my brother says and runs away after ruffling my hair, I blink sometimes i wonder What exactly is happening in his head?.

I turn to look at Han , he was staring at the door, trying to make sense at what just happened, I smile, he looks more paler today, pale and tired, like the stupid idiot I am without thinking I reach up and touch his forehead, he turns to me, when my eyes meat his, I saw those eyes loosing there color and he was definitely cold, way cold for a normal person, or siren.

“Are you … feeling okay..?” i ask he nods and stares at me, his hand comes up, and cups my face, my freaking breath stops, we just stay like that for a minute, suddenly the color of his eyes change to yellow and then back to his normal eye color, he hisses and places his hand on his head, “Hey! Han , Han ” I panic, he recovers quickly and then gets up and heads out of my room, “Han !” I say, he turns around and smiles, “I'm fine” he says and leaves.

I hope he really is alright.

Han ’s POV:

shit , shit, shit, I tumble my way to the sofa, this is bad this is super bad, my head hurts so freaking much, I breath in through the nose trying to calm myself down, but I cant my ears are buzzing and I'm hearing voices.

Born of sea turns to sea form

Born of land bleeds and turns to sand

But cursed to be a part of the sea, doesn't break easily

Does Not remember anything 

Love can break the biggest spell

Can tame the curliest of beasts

My eyes widen, these are the same voices I heard when I was a siren, back in the sea, I hiss as the pain sharpens, I rush out of the house and to the sea, breathing I try to concentrate on the cool breeze, the pain stops but I can still make out those voices, like a faint whisper, what does that even mean?.

After a minute or two the voices die down too, and I take a sigh of relief, I take out my necklace, the vile, half or less the half of it was filled, but I had made my decision, I can't and I wont hurt her and at that point it hit me, “Gosh love sucks!!” I sigh and ruffle my hair .

Y/n’s POV:

I hear hissing and mumbling, my eyes snap open and I glance at the time 3:00AM, I sigh, whoever it is better shut up, I get up and focus on the voice and it surprisingly lead me to my bathroom, I carefully open the bathroom door to find the mermaid, her eyes were glowing yellow, just like how Han ’s were, she was saying something, I came near her to see what she was mumbling on about,

Finish the job, kill her, Finish the job…..

She kept repeating that on and on, and then suddenly she goes still, eyes back to their original shape, she looked at me and I could make out tears in her eyes she whispered to which I made out “help me” and she repeated that again and again, I came near her and she suddenly  pulled me closer, when I looked in her eyes they were yellow again “seeeeee” she hissed 

Flash's came in front of me, moments, all those horrible memories, I tried to escape from her grip or escape from those moments but I couldn't, the more i tried to pull away the more horrible those memories became.

When she finally let go of my arm I tumbled back, my back hit the wall of the bathroom, cold, that's when I realized I was shaking, tears coming out of my eyes.

“You see?” she said 

“W-what… a-are you t-t-trying to s-show me?” I ask trembling

Y/n’s POV:

“I changed my mind .. THIS is my favorite food from now on” Han  said as he munched on the last slice of cheesecake, I giggled “see I told you there are more tastier things then scrambled eggs” I said, chocolate from the cheesecakes was on the side of his lips, I took a tissue and wiped it off “you eat like a kid” I smiled and looked at him.

Too close, Y/n you're too close 

I get back and clear my throat “come on there are more things you need to see since you're here”, I said as I looked around.

Han ’s Pov:

She's so cute. I smiled and went back to finishing up my cheesecake.

“Ahhh right the amusement park every human has to go there, it's a must do” she said getting all excited “what's an amusement park?” I asked as I wiped my face with the so-called tissue “here let's go” she said as she held my hand and pulled me along, we both ran to wherever she was taking me.

“Y/n slow down, or did you forget I just learned how to walk” I said huffing as we stopped, “and you know how hard it was to learn-.. Wow”  I said as I looked at the big big…..things, this place was gigantic.

“I know right it's gigantic, come on we're gonna go to the haunted house first” she said as I nodded still in awe, “wait what's the haunted house?” I asked, does she wanna be possessed by ghosts or something, but luckily she read my mind “it's not real ghosts just people acting like ghosts so come on” she said as once again she drags me, well if there not real then that's okay, and personally how scary can they be, I mean sharks are more scarier than mere people

I take my words back, People are scarier than sharks, “are you okay?” Y/n laughs as she pats my back , this is utterly embarrassing. I close my eyes and shake my head, “ice cream I'll go get some ice cream, you sit here” she said as she went to bring us some ice cream.

I close my eyes, why is my head hurting this much, the moment I open my eyes, I see tons of hearts glowing a fierce color of blue, everything else was black and white, I close my eyes again and slowly massage my temple “stop, stop” I whisper

Remember you only have 20 days till you turn back to a siren 

I hear a voice whisper in my head, my eyes shoot open and everything's fine, everything's back in color, I only have 20 days, I got to get started today.

Y/n’s POV:

“One chocolate and one peach in a cone please” I said as the guy nodded, ‘what's the time?” I whispered as I took my phone out 

25 missed class from Minho Oppa 

Domed I’m domed, I sigh, was something wrong 

“Here you go one chocolate and one peach” the guy gave me my ice cream, and I thanked him and started to make my way to Han 

To be honest I'm happy Han ’s here, I'm having lots of fun, I smiled thinking about how he was scared as hell in the haunted house, I even didn't have a single episode of the migraine too 

“Here's your ice cream” I said as I handed him the peach one, he glanced at both “I want the chocolate one” he said

“Nope you're gonna try the peach one this time, trust me you're gonna love it” i said, he gave me a questioning look but took it in the end, I sat next to him “so how's your day in the human world going?’ I asked as I looked at the people passing by “well let me summarize that for you, on my first day I was attacked by a cat and a human both on the same day, on the second day I got to know that humans are more scarier than sharks, and that I'm afraid of heights” he said pouting and taking a huge bite of the ice cream.

I laughed with tears coming out of my eyes “first of all Darong thought you were fish and came on you did smell like it too and second San apologized and did give you his clothes that you are wearing at this very moment” I said, laughing “what's so funny?” he asked which made me laugh even more “your.. Haha...your face…” I laughed, he looked confused “is there something on my face” he asked, I shacked my head as a no.

“No your face expressions is soo cute” I said as  my laugh started to come to an end, his face started to go red, to which I stopped, I think he's getting more sick, I placed my hand on his forehead, his fever is getting higher and higher, he held my hand, and for a minute we just stared at each other, he does have beautiful eyes it like you can see the whole sea in them.

“Stupid” he said as he scoffed “come  on I'm hungry lets go home” he said as he got up and started to drag me with him, we just walked silently with the setting sun watching over us.

Han ’s POV:

We got home and I sat on the table directly. I needed a minute to collect my thoughts. I had little time but why do i feel like it's going the opposite way “do you wanna eat now?” Y/n asked standing on the opposite side of the table, I nodded to which she went to the fridge and started to take out some food.

“Here you go” she said after a few minutes, she placed a bowl of rice and some side dishes, I can't lie she's a pretty good cook. She sat in front of me, hands on the table, eyes on me “you're not gonna eat?” I asked, she shocked her head as no “I'm not hungry” I nodded and started to dig into my food, “hey Han I was wondering what's the.. You know what's the difference between a siren and a mermaid in general” she asked.

“Didn't I tell you the first time” I looked up, “well you weren't very specific I mean in detail” she said, “well some sirens are born from the sea, and some are born from violent, watery depths, Drowning, being murdered at sea, their bodies being thrown into the water shortly after their deaths, stuff like that. Thy are the ones that sing to sailors, or anyone and drag them to their deaths, when they get to close, They are born anytime, but that's just a myth in between sirens about that there born from violent deaths no one has seen a siren born like that” i said as i was reminded of the monster i was, the real me 

“On the other hand Mermaids are purely creatures of water, they look more like a fish then us, there dum most of them and aggressive too, even though if both of us die we turn into sea form, as if we never existed, mermaids eat human hearts thinking that that's what's gonna turn them into humans” i said getting back to my food, blocking out all the horrible thoughts.

“Was it hard?” my eyes shot up to her to see her heart was glowing a deep shade of blue 

She's sad 

I nodded, she bit her lip and nodded “if you-... if you wanna talk about it I'm always here” she said as she looked back up at me and smiled 

Beat… why is my heart beating so fast?

Y/n POV:

“You should probably sleep” I said as I picked up Darong “and you and me need some sleep and Darong and Y/n time” I said and winked, to be honest Darong was super mad at me, “I mean your the one who used to ignore me” i pouted as she turned her head the other way”.

I got changed and picked up my phone, shit i forgot to call Minho, this is the best time I guess, I dialed his number

Beep beep~

“Hey Y/n” I heard Minho 

“Hey I'm sorry my phone was on silent” I said 

“It's fine just come to the living room you have so much to explain” he said and hung up

What does he mean by come to the- shit i close my eyes and run out of my room to see Minho giving death glares to Han , and Han  was doing the same, “Minho I-..” I started but he motioned me to stop “who are you?” he asked  looking Han  dead in the eye, Han  gave me a panicked look, I mouthed my friend “your my friend” I whispered, he nodded “I'm her cousin” , I facepalm myself, shit now we're in big trouble how am i gonna explain this one.

“Well I'm her brother” Minho smiled, to which I'm sure Han  understood that he messed up “so now Y/n explain pls”, I motioned Han  to sit down, as he did and then we began to explain the siren stuff.

“So you're trying to say You.. Han  right? Is a siren the ones that sing people to their deaths?” Minho asked and the both of us nodded “and how am I supposed to believe that?” he asked, I give a panicked look to Han , as he gets up and heads to the kitchen he picks up a glass and fills it with water and then heads back to us, he breaths and then puts his hand above the glass, for a moment we all sit there but nothing happens “what's going on, nothings happening, okay enough with the stories both of you tell me the truth” Minho says, but then water suddenly starts to levitate around his hand, me and Minho were in total awe “see I told you” I said as his eyes were stuck on the water now out of the glass and levitating above Han ’s hand, i look up at Han  and smile, he returns that smile with a wink.

“Fine I believe you”

authors Pov:

After that everything was settled, you all went to sleep, but to be honest even though Minho now believed in Han  but it still looked like he was not giving him proper approval, but for the time being you were glad he was here.

Han ’s POV:

I'm glad I was half siren, for those powers to work, or damn I messed up, I lay on the couch my eyes on the roof, “you know if you do anything fishy to my sister I swear I'm gonna kill you and bury you so deep that even your own kind wont find you” her brother said as he lay his mattress on the floor, and went to sleep, back towards me, I sigh I mean I get it he’s her brother, it's good he's protective, who wont be she is something to protect, my thoughts start to kill me , I get up and head outside, slowly opening the door, but as I was opening the door I heard a small meow.

I glanced down to see the little monster rubbing against my feet “you want to go outside too?” I asked, more like I whispered, Darong gave a little meow, as I picked her up and we head outside, the cold night air, the cold lonely sea, to be honest I forgot the sea or being a siren when I spent time with her, I sit down on the sand and place darong in my lap, looking at the sea reminded me of my task, my heart sank to my feet “ugh I can't do it, am I falling for her?” I put my hands on my face, thinking of all the times she made my heart beat, “is this what love feels like, cuz I dont like it” I said as I stared at the sea, I took my necklace out of my shirt and inspected it, the vile was now half empty, “great I have little time left and I have zero progress, but what I'm feeling towards her is it love or something else?” I questioned myself, Darong meowed “and you, you little monster” I said as I picked her up and brought her to my eye level, she meowed and then licked my nose, I smiled “your not that bad” I said as I placed her back in my lap.

“We should probably go in , it's getting a little chilly out here” I said as me and Darong headed back in. but what do you know sleep wasn't quite welcoming me today I sat on the sofa, “what's something fun I could do here?” I whispered, I saw the thing that turns on the TV the… “what did Y/n say this was?.... Ahh right a remote and this button turns it on” I remembered it was actually the most complicated thing I got to learn, I turned it on and the volume was quite high, I gritted my teeth together and glanced at Minho Hyung, but he looked like he was having a deep sleep, I quickly turned down the volume, “sorry” I whispered, I started to surf through the channels until this one caught my eye.

“Are you a person who’s in love but can't seem to figure out whether it's love or friendship? Well today we will tell you some things that will help you figure out the difference, and point out how exactly you feel about that person”

Wow great these things always pop up on the worst time, I really didn't want to know this, but then again it won't hurt I guess, I looked down at Darong and she really looked interested in the show, wouldn't take her eyes of the screen “who do you have in your life to figure out your feelings” I laughed, but Darong straight  off ignored me.

“When someone likes you they usually give off small hints, but how to differentiate is that when you love someone

 “I think that's enough TV for me” I said as i turned it off, my face was heating up, this is stupid I won't do that, I sighed and lay down on the couch

Y/n’s POV:

“Good morning!” I said as I went directly to the kitchen, hands occupied with tying up my hair, but as I looked up, I saw Minho with an apron, he looked at me and smiled, “sit down, and chill I've made us waffles your favorite” he said as he motioned me to sit on the seat, the aroma of sweat waffles filled the air around me and to be honest it reminded me of my childhood. “Where's Han ?” I asked, “here!” I heard Han  behind me, I turned around to look at Han , he was damped and not to mention semi naked, he wore only jeans, I'm kind of embarrassed to say I couldn't take my eyes off of his abs ‘how the heck do sirens have perfect abs, and why didn't I see this earlier?’, I heard hurried footsteps behind me, and then I felt someone covering my eyes, “HEY PUT ON SOME CLOTHES THIS ISN'T A STRIP HOUSE” Minho yelled as I laughed.

Finally we all settled down and had a peaceful breakfast, after finishing up we all cleaned up and thanked Minho for the lovely food, “oh yeah I'm gonna go do some work k, I'll be back by 9 okay” Minho said as he got to the door he stopped and looked back at Han  and gave him a long glare and then went outside, I laughed “wow that was intense” i said, as i was about to go to my room, Han pulled me by my arm and pinned me to the wall, we just stayed like that for a minute, my heart started to beat at an abnormal speed, “I-” I wanted to speak, to say something but my mind was blurry, my thoughts were blurry, I blinked twice, but Han  didn't say anything “can-can we go outside today” he said, and I blinked again trying to process what he meant. 

“Yeah yeah sure, umm give me five minutes” I said and the motioned for him to let me go, he quickly realized and pushed himself back, “yeah sorry” he said, hand on the back of his neck, I quickly went into my room and closed the door, “what was that, get a hold of your senses Lee Y/n!!”

Minho POV:

“Detective Minho your really on good terms huh buddy, I mean posted to Jeju, beautiful place and less crime, good for you buddy” I smiled as I heard Chan Hyung blabber on about how hard it is being a city detective, “oh come on Hyung it's not that hard, and plus I still have to deal with small crime, pickpocketing, car accidents and all”, I sighed looking at the now placed file on my desk, “don't be so unthankful those petty crimes are a piece of cake for us… by the way how is Y/n holding up, is here headache fine?” he asked as I hummed.

I stopped, as i thought about the fact that Y/n hasn't had a migraine since I got here “she's more carefree and happier these days” I said, thinking about all the times she's laughed, and how much happy she looks teaching Han  how to use the TV, smiling at the memory of that thought, “wow great that’s good I-.... In a minute… hey buddy I got to go okay got a new cold case” he said sighing frustrated, “okay” I laughed, “but hey tell Jeongin to not destroy my office and tell Changbin to stop arm wrestling with every newcomer” I said as Chan laughed “you know about that” 

“I have eyes and ears everywhere” I laughed and then we said our goodbyes.

In the middle of work I thought about the possibility of other mythical creatures existing if a Siren exists, I opened up the file, but when I read it I wanted to yeet everything.

Han ’s POV:

We got home from our little stroll and let me say I DIDN'T DO ANYTHING TO MAKE HER HEART RACE, she went straight to her room, and came back minutes later, with a camera, I suppose that's what you call it, “here I want you to have it” she said, as I took the camera and stared at it for a minute “what for?” I asked, “well I want you to make some memories for yourself, since your here now” she said, I smiled looking at the camera, “thanks” I said as she looked at me with wide eyes “I-I’m gonna go make us something to eat” she said as she hurried to the kitchen. 

I nodded as I went to my sofa and sat down, Darong meowed from the other room and as she saw me sitting she came running and I smiled, “hey little buddy” I smiled as I picked her up and run my hands through her hair she started  to slowly close her eyes and doze off, the smell of food was nice, less days I have less days left I thought as I looked at the ceiling.

“Ouch” I heard Y/n yelp in pain and then hiss, I don't know why but my body quickly reacted and I got up and ran to her, “what's wrong are you okay?” I asked as he help her finger in her hands, “yeah I'm fine I just cut my finger” she said as I took her finger in my hand and examined it, it wasn't a deep cut thank God but it was deep enough to bleed like hell “why didn't you pay more attention hun? What if this was deep what would we do?, does it hurt a lot?” I asked as I slowly picked her up and placed her on the kitchen counter, “where's the first aid?” I asked as she looked at me and then at the cupboard, “I- its t-there” she said and I quickly went to get it, I slowly started to clean up the wound, “you should be more careful, scared the hell out of me” I said as I took a bandage and wrapped it safely around the wound, her hand was now in mines and we both stared at each other, i really dont wanna kill her, I slowly start to close the gap , and placed my lips on her, I felt her stop and then she kissed me back.

Y/n’s POV;

Han  really left in a hurry didn't he, he looked scared for a minute, nah maybe I'm just jumping ahead of things, “Darong-ah come here” i said but the cat smoothly ignored me “Daron-ahah come on I'm bored” i pouted but got the same reaction, she's done with me, I sighed and got off my bed, and scanned my room for something fun I could do, but nope .

“Fine your not gonna play with me then imma go find someone else” I said and made my way to the door, but she just meowed on my face, as soon as I got out of the door the cold air hit my face, I glanced up at the sky to see black clouds “I guess it's probably gonna rain” I sighed.

“Chicken I wanna eat chicken” I said, mouth drooling, stomach grumbling 

“CHECK OUT THIS JEWELRY, FRESHLY FROM SEOUL” the old woman said, a stall in front of her, I glanced around but saw no one “yes you young lady I'm talking to you” she said pointing at me, i went to her, “look at these” she said pointing at all the jewelry, but my heart was begging for chicken not jewelry I pout looking at all the beautiful rings, one caught my eye, I bent a little down to examine it “what's this?” i asked picking it up “its couple mismatch items, the ring is for the men and the necklace is for the female” she said, the ring was a beautiful blue with a fish painted on it in white it suddenly reminded me of Han , the necklace had a silver chain with a water droplet “I'll take these”

“Welcome” said the voice cleaning the counter “hey” I simply said, the voice looked at me and smiled “Y/n What brings you here?” San said coming my way and leading me to the table “well I was craving for some chicken so I thought id stop by” he smiled “well you came to the right place what can I get you” he said taking out his notebook “I don't know something spicy” I said to which he nodded “be right back” and then he left.

“Oh the girl from the beach” the old lady said and sat down, I got up and bowed to her, she smiled but then she had a serious face on “where did you get that?” she asked pointing at my hand, but I didn't see anything “I'm sorry?” I said, she gestured me to sit down, I did as she said “Give me your hand child” she said and I gave her my  hand. She carefully examined it and said, “I can see a siren mark on your hand… you saw a siren, didn't you?” she asked, I nodded, “my child there's something I have to tell you” she said “ kay its here I hope you enjoy…. GranGran when did you come” San said setting the plate of chicken in front of me, San’s Grandmother got up “well I just got here I'm gonna go now” she said patting San’s shoulder, “wait but..” before I could say anything she brought her finger to her lips motioning me to stay quiet, and then she left, “What were you and granny talking about?” San said looking like a lost puppy, i just shook my head

Han ’s POV:

I sat in the cave, thinking of all the possible ways he's gonna punish me lets go through the options

He’s gonna leave me with the sharks

He’s gonna make me kill a siren 

Last but not least, kill all the sirens and lay their bodies in front of me

“Get up.. Were going somewhere ”my uncle came in not looking at me, leave me to the sharks it is then, I got up and followed him to my doom, we kept swimming and swimming

“I mean the sea is beautiful, and you must have other sirens who love you right?” 

Y/n’s words came to my mind, if she would have seen all the things I saw, and been through all the things I've been through, I'm sure the words sea and beauty would never cross paths, the way we were still going on, I felt like it's definitely not the first option,

We finally came to a halt in front of a cave, two merman's were guarding it , my uncle whispered something in their ear and they stepped aside letting us through, I just stood there, What is he planning to do?, “what are you waiting for?... we don't have all day” he said, i followed him in, the cave was filled with a lot of bottles, two eels were sitting in a cage, glaring at me, i shivered a little.

“Well well” said the voice, it was coming from a dark place. I couldn't quite make it out who it was. “Welcome, welcome to my humble home” the voice said when it came into the light I realized who it was.

The sea witch

She gave me a smile, “You came on the right time, I just finished the potion” she said going near a bottle “Potion?” I looked at my uncle, asking for some explanation, he nodded 

‘Well after the disaster you did I made a plan to keep our existence hidden from the humans … this potion” he said taking the potion from the sea witches hands “well give you legs for 20 days” he said putting a hand on my shoulder “and you have to make her fall for you, bring her to the sea and then dispose of her” he said, hearing that my heartbeat stopped “WHAT! NO NEVER, I WON'T DO IT” i said moving back a little.

The sea witch laughed “I can read the deepest desires of a siren my child you long to know what happened to you, the life you can't remember, and of course your legs” she said coming near me “this could give you everything, you can get your legs for 20  days and the time you kill her the water will return your memories ”she said then she placed her hand on my arm “and this is a small explanation of what I'm talking about”

“Han, dinners ready?” 

“I'll be there in a minute mom”

Voices, I heard voices of my past 

“Surely that girl doesn't mean as much as this” said my uncle 

“Tell me you'll do it..SAY IT” he said and I nodded, this is what I've been looking for since forever, who I was, what I was, I nodded again

“I'll do it” I said the sea witch came near me “good now drink this” she said giving me the small bottle i drank it, i felt this weird pain in my chest, my vision started to blur, “YES YESSS”

Y/n’s POV:

It's late shit I overslept

I jolted up, and out of the bed looking at the time it's half past midnight, Han  might be waiting, but then again he made me wait last night too.

I quickly got up and ran to the beach, but he wasn't there “great I'm the one whos always early” I said sighing in frustration “ahhh” I heard a voice “is someone there” I said walking towards the voice, I saw a man seminude on the beach he was covered with a shawl a blue one “Y/N FOR ONCE FOCUS” I said and head towards him “sir are you okay” when I got near him I didn't expect to see what I just saw,

“Han !?”

“He's not dead is he?” I say looking at my cat for answers but she just stares at Han , “probably not?” I look at him, he still looks amazing even as a human, but how did he become a human? I look at his legs, how long was he there, Y/n ask him when he gets up don't overreact i told myself.

I slowly touched his hands and they were freezing, “Darong I'm gonna go make him some soup, make sure you don't eat him up okay, he's not fish okay?” I say laughing, she glares at me and I go make some soup.

Flashback:

“I'm scared” I whisper to myself, I was terrified of lightning, when I was little, I squeeze my plushie hard against my chest, and get of my bed and head out, our house was very big like a mansion, I walk through the halls, jumping at every single sound of lightning that got to my ears

*knock knock*

“Who is it?” The door opened revealing Minho as he glanced down to see me face wet with tears, his eyes shot open and he bends down to my level. I wasn't that smaller than him by age but by height yes I was at that time.

He looked around and heard the thunder roaring “is it the thunder?...I'm so sorry I didn't hear it” he said, wiping my tears away.'' Come in” he said and I followed him in, every time lightning struck I used to go to Minho.

He tucked me in “do you want me to sing for you, or a story” I sniff a few times and clear my throat “a story, you sing for me every time” I said, he laughs and nods “hmmm let me think” he said going deep in thought.

“Oh I know the forest prince and the flower”, with that he told me the story of how much friendship the flower girl had with the prince but then one day, he has to leave, after he left the flower has to go through many hardships, hardships that the seasons put on her and finally when winter came it took her away, when the prince came back he was devastated to see the flower gone, but in the end he got to know that she was there, even through the hardships, waiting 

“So do you get what I wanna tell you?” he asked, waking me up “no” I say as I shake my head “I wanted to tell you that story, so that you know, through any hardship I'll be there waiting for you to lean on me on your bad days” he pinches my nose, smiling “and I'll be there for you too”

Han ’s Pov;

 I wake up to see a weird creature glaring at me as if I'm food 

Ahhh my old enemy 

Cats.

Where the heck am I?, look at my tail-, feet I have feet, I smile and move them a little, so this is what it feels like. I glance up to see a girl in- I don't know what that place is or where I am but she's.. Her heart glows a mixture of yellow and blue.

Its Y/n 

So she found me huh?

What's making her so sad, yet so happy at the same time 

I tilt my head a little.. How am I gonna make her fall for me? I guess- bite someone just bite me “AHH” I screamed in pain

“Han, you okay?, Darong bad, bad kitty” she says as she gets that thing off of me, she puts the cat away and sits back down “Hey” she says, worried, but i just stare at her, she looks completely different in the moonlight and this light, beautiful.

I shake my head Han  focus, focus “How did you..? No how are you feeling?” she asks looking at me and then at my legs and then back at me “I'm fine and i have no idea how I became like this, I just woke up and hear I am” I said looking at my legs, I perfectly knew why I was here, I was here to kill her, when i said that I saw my heart glow … blue

“I'll bring you soup” she said and got up, but I was too shocked seeing my heart, sirens aren't supposed to have hearts, the spell was to just give me legs not a heart “here” she said bringing a bowl of that thing called ‘soup’, I took a sip it was warm and it had a good taste “so this is soup” I said examining the bowl in front of me, she smiled “yess now that your here, well do many human activities, just like you wanted to” she said, and I just looked at her “hmm” i said, how the hell am i gonna make her fall for me, I thought 

“what is this place?” I asked “its a house, you haven't seen a house?” she tilts her head confused “I'm sorry but there aren't a lot of houses under water”

“Oh yeah sorry I - you should sleep” she said getting up, “wait-”

Y/n’s POV:

“Wait-” I feel a pull and then suddenly my face is inches from Han , my heart starts to race, and I feel my face burning up “w-what?” I ask he takes a minute to look at every single coroner of my face “some clothes” he said and then lets me go, I blink a few times and pick up the clothes I placed on the sofa earlier “umm this is my brothers old shorts I don't know how it got here but in the meantime you can wear this I'll go get some clothes” and then I get up to get some clothes.

“Our lips were this close” i say face burning up, Y/n clothes focus on the clothes, where in the world am i gonna get him clothes his size all my clothes are short, i had Minho’s clothes with me but they're probably too short now.

*ding dong*

Who the hell is it this late.

“I got to find clothes first” I say as I look all around ,fight, was someone fighting, i got out my room to see two men on the ground, trying to strangle each other,

“San!! Han, stop it” I say they both look at me and then look at each other “Y/n? You're okay? Right?” asked San, ''I found this man in your house did he hurt you?”

“No he-” I stop and look at Han  “he's my cousin, Han , he was robbed and has nowhere to go” I say, Y/n you could have done better than that, San looks down at Han , then back up at me “okay” he says as he gets off of him “I'm sorry” he helps Han  get up “No problem” Han  says as he gives me a ‘well done’ look.

“He probably doesn't have clothes, to make it up I'll bring some from my place, he's probably my size” he said, I nod “he doesn't umm, what are you doing here thou” I ask 

“Oh you left your wallet at our restaurant, I found it just now, I'm sorry I came this late” he said bowing down and giving me my wallet “you can check if the money is still there” he says “why should I your my friend, I know you, don't be silly” hearing that he smiles and leaves to get clothes.

“He's smitten,” Han  says as soon as the door closes, I look at him “What?” I ask turning around to see he was eating an apple, which he took from the fridge, he was sitting on the counter  “he likes you” he said, not looking very happy about it “no he does not” I say, l laugh it off “he does trust me” he says as he gets off the counter, he comes near me, close, close again “better be cautious sweetheart” he said as he smiled and took a bite.

San’s POV:

I tip toe into my house, not to wake up halmonie or shell, kick me out at this point, I slowly walk to my room and turn on the lights “okay I might have extra clothes here” I said and walked to my wardrobe, I skim through all the clothes “why are all these blacks” I said sighing a little, “whelp then I don't have much choice”  I take a bag out from the top shelf when a box falls down.

“What's that?” I bend down to pick the box up, I sit on my bed and open it up, picture, it was a box filled with pictures, of me and my mom and dad, I miss dad, we were such a perfect family before he died, I smiled looking at my little self smiling, so carefree, I pick up the next pic in which I stand next to mom as she hugs me, a tear slips down my face, at the memory of how I begged her to not leave. “Choi San, it's all in the past, put them away” I told myself. 

I put all the things in the bag and got up, before heading out I checked on halmonie, I smiled looking at her sleep, she's always been there, with that I went out to deliver these clothes to Y/n, I was really gonna kill him if he was not her cousin, is he, come on Y/n wont lie to me, right?.

San snap out of it, it's been a few days since she became a part of this town but I feel like, she's been here since forever, she’s the first person after halmonie that I opened up too, the first person that feel at home with, I smile at the thought of how someone can make you feel so happy yet so sad at the same time

I knock on the door and Y/n opens the door “San” she says as she smiles, I like the way she says my name with such happiness, I smile “here you go, clothes for your cousin” I say as I hand her the clothes, she takes them slowly “and if you need anything you know where to find me” she nods, with the biggest smile, before my heart just melts “i-i'll go then” I say slowly walking away “wait” she says 

“Thank you so much for the clothes San”

“Thank you so much for the clothes San” I said as, we both said our goodbyes and I closed the door “here you go the clothes” I handed Han  the clothes “you can sleep here on the sofa, get some rest, and if you need me I'll be in that room over there” I point at my room which was at the end of the hall

“Good night!” I say as I head toward my room, to get some shut eye

Han’s POV:

“Good night” she said as she went into her room, “Good night” I whisper more to myself, I look at the bag of clothes that guy...San gave me I unzipped it and saw that all of them were black, every single one of them, I'm not complaining i like it, I put on those clothes and then sat on what they called a sofa, “hmm comfy” i jump a little then hear a little sound, I glance to see that creature in front of me sitting and staring, I put my legs on the sofa, and try to shoo it away, can't believe she left this predator hear with me “shoo shoo go away you” I say but it just stays there, well fine then stay there, I look at the necklace in my neck, it was a small veil with water in it, salt water.

Before becoming a human:

“Wear this,” the sea witch said, giving me a necklace, “what's this?” I say as I take the veil in my hand and turn it around “think of it as an hourglass, when the water in that veil finishes up your times up, you'll become a siren again, until that is if you compete your mission” I look at it, “it also has incredible healing powers” she said and I put it on

Recent Time:

Up till now the veil was full, I got to complete my mission swiftly, but it already feels hard, what if i fail, what if she finds out, what if time runs out quickly

I take a deep breath inn 

Han  for now let's just rest, and don't get too attached, you're a siren deep down, I'm doing this all for my past. Remember that.

With that I don't know when I slept

The smell of something delicious wakes me up, I open my eyes to see Y/n setting something on the table, I think that's what it's called meow, I look down to see the cat in my feet, hmm that means you didn’t eat me, even though that’s impossible.

“Good morning” she said smiling at me “breakfast is made you can go wash up and change, have breakfast” she said and I nodded , i got up to get changed.

Y/n POV:

“What's this? It tastes….nice” Han  said looking at the scrambled eggs in front of them “scrambled eggs” I said looking at him then back at my plate, “indeed you were right, human seasoning are amazing” he said and i laughed.

 “this is my favorite human food” he said finishing his 5th plate of scrambled eggs, “yeah right wait till you taste other exquisite foods, they'll blow your siren mind away” I said laughing, I put the plates in the washer and Han smirks “what's that face for?” I ask as I wash the dishes “well..” he starts, getting up from the chair and standing next to me, back against the counter “I was thinking if you could take me outside to … you know see the town, maybe, please” he said, pouting a little cute, I put the plates down “fine” I said putting the plates down

The light of the sun seeping through the curtains, the room started to get a little warm, I felt something lick my face I opened my eyes to see Darong greeting me with a small meow “Yea Yeah I’m hungry too ill go get us something to eat” I said, I got up and did my morning routine and then started to make breakfast.

 mornings were lazy for me, extremely lazy, I ate my breakfast finished up and washed the dishes, while Darong was in front of the TV watching animal planet, I still don’t know whether she even understood that or not, but I let my curiosity die there.

“Darong-ah~ I’ll be back okay, I’m heading outside” I said as I put on my sneakers and head out, the heat was hitting the sand, I squinted “I’ll take a little walk” I said to myself I started to walk by the sea, there weren’t a lot of people but a few, parents with their children, an old woman with his son, I started to head towards the rock where I saw the merman last night, I was fighting with my thoughts “did I see it or did I not?” I said in a low voice, searching through my thoughts, memories of last night coming back but they were a little hazy “mermaids don’t exist, mermaids don’t exist” I started to whisper under my breath.

“Who said they don’t?” I looked back to see an old woman smiling at me, “sorry?” I said turning completely to her “I asked that who said mermaids don’t exist?” the old woman repeated herself “I saw one, when I was your age she was beautiful, she had a beautiful voice and a blue tail, black glossy hair with a green streak, they sing a song to lure humans into the water and drown them but not all of them are the same, some like humans very much, but they aren’t called mermaids their called..” she was about to finish when a guy came and stopped her “Granny it’s time to leave, come on” he said, he wasn’t tall, he had black hair and was covered in black from head to toe, his Granny started to make her way to wherever they lived, before leaving she winked at me.

“I’m sorry, my grandma believes too much in fantasy’s” he said bowing down a little 

“I’m Choi San by the way” he said “I’m Lee Y/n” I said we both shook hands

 “you just moved in” 

“how do you know” I asked

 “it’s a small town everyone knows everyone hear” he said 

“ooh” I said nodding “umm I have to go it was very nice to meet you, you can stop by we have a chicken restaurant near the convenience store.. and if you need anything your most welcome to come by” he said smiling “thank you so much I'll make sure to stop by” I said with that we both waved and started to head to our own destination.

I wanted to take a walk around the town, It wasn’t big San was right, a lot of people waved and I bowed in response, coffee shop, stationary, fashion, this was a remote place but surprisingly had everything, I saw a paint shop so i went there, there were many portraits there of the sea, pirates etcetera but the one that caught my attention the most was of a man crying setting on the rock, his face gave off many emotions, emotions of sadness, joy it was hard to pinpoint a single out of those emotions “you like it?” the Oldman came from behind me “yes it's very..” I searched for the proper word to describe it “expressive” I said he smiled in response “you can keep it… I see your new.. “Meow” I jolted up, shit I fell asleep I glanced at the tv to see it was still on and I was suddenly on the 4th episode great Y/n just great I yawned and got up “a nice walk would do it” I stretched and head outside, as yesterday it was calm no soul in sight I mean obviously it was midnight, I sat on the rock it was half submerged in water when-

*a rock falls* 

The merman “ hey don’t leave I wanna meet you this time” I said I slightly bowed in the forward direction to see what it was but it was just a crab “great I’m completely going…AHHH” I fell back on the rock, i sighed and rubbed my back when i opened my eyes, the merman was now in front of me, he tilted his head to the side and gave me a confused look, “hi” I said in a little whisper, he started to look at my feet then at my clothes, he picked up my feet as I slightly feel backwards “those are my….hahahah.. Please don’t it tickles” I said, he leaves my feet and I sit back up , I’m not crazy this time I’m up. “What’s your name, human?” he says, wait he can speak “wait you can speak” I asked “yes I can speak all human tongues… my name is Han, Han Jisung” he said “I’m Lee Y/n” you said bringing your hand to shake it but he just stares at it “you...shake it” you said he slowly brings his hands to yours and shakes it, and then he smiles and shakes it again “ooookay” you said “I've never seen a merman before” you said, he gave you a confused look and then looks behind “Merman where?” he asks

“you” I said getting more confused, did he not know, he smiles “I'm not a merman I'm a siren, mermaids and merman's are covered with scales they resemble the fishes a lot, we sirens look like humans more” he said 

“Ahhh.. okay” I said, he started to look at my feet again “how does it feel to have feet?” he asks I look at my feet then at his fins “hmm it feels like how you feel with your tail I guess” I said he makes an ohhh face “do you-” he stops then looks behind him “I have to go… will you come here tomorrow?” he said “yes i will” I said he smiles and then takes my hand and kisses the top of it, my face turns red , he smiles and then swims away “what was that?”

Han’s PoV

Alone I’ve been alone from the start, the sea is a beautiful place but sometimes it can be extremely suffocating, the land calls out to me, I wish to become a human but some wishes are to never be fulfilled.

I swim and I swim endlessly, unsure of my destination, of where I’m headed, of where I’m supposed to be, Sirens aren’t allowed near land there told to kill humans, but those who have a broken heart, who don’t wanna live, but I would never hurt anyone.

“I’m back” I said as I got in the cave, I lived with my uncle, the seeker. He was like the law here, hated humans, killed them whenever he saw one, and extremely extremely bossy.

“Where were you?” He asked not even giving me a single look his whole attention was on the fish in his hands, he was staring at it with extreme hunger “nowhere just here and there” I said as I sat down “my nephew, look at this fish” he said eyes on the fish as it struggled “what does it want most now?” He asks, I look at the fish, pity it was to be devoured by my uncle “freedom?” I said my uncle laughed “exactly, but food is essential, find a moment catch it and then kill it” he said as he ate the whole fish, sometimes I don’t get what he says “go to sleep” he says reading my expression that I have no idea what he says.

I do exactly as he says I lie down, clearing my head of everything my uncle leaves, and I’m left there alone with my thoughts when Y/n comes to my mind I never saw a cute human she was nice...right? She had beautiful black hair, her eyes were sparkling, I wonder how it actually felt to have feet …. Wait was I falling for a human 

My uncles gonna kill me “stupid stupid” I hit my head with my fist, I throw my thoughts away and get ready to sleep

Han’s Pov:

“Wake up we need to go” my uncle said, hearing his voice in the morning wasn't one of the things I liked “where?” I asked as I rubbed my eyes, “ I want you to do something for me” he said and left the cave, “weird he never asks my help in anything”

“Please don't kill me” said the siren in front me, I looked at my uncle but all I could see in his eyes was amusement at how she begged for her life, I just stood there unable to move, it wasn't like this was the first time he was killing someone in front of me, he was the seeker he could do anything he wants “Han ” he said as I looked at him “I want you to finish the job” he said smiling, my heart stopped, I can't do this, I can't kill someone who hasn't done anything “I cant” I say my voice shaking, my uncle turned to me “say that again” he says “I can't do this” I repeat, he slaps me hard, my ears ring “you are gonna kill her and that's an order or I'm gonna kill all the sirens and lay their bodies in front of you” he said, I knew he'd do it, I swim toward the siren and look at her, she begs me not to but it's not like I have a choice I extend my hand to her slowly feeling the power of the water in my hand and then releasing it, water tore's through her stomach with force and she stops, I look at her without emotion, Sirens should be creatures with no emotion, my uncle smiles as he sees her turn into sea form “good my nephew well done, no emotion, just wanted to remind you that” he says as he pats my back and heads back into the cave, i stay there with her till her last breath, she deserves that much.

Y/n’s Pov

“Darong-ah~ I'm going out kay”  I said as I closed the door behind me, we were out of milk, it was almost night, the whole morning I was occupied with cleaning up and thinking about the siren I meet last night, I started to walk to the convenience store, he must be very lonely, does he have any family, siblings I thought, he had a beautiful tail, and eyes 

Wait-

I blinked “focus on getting the milk Y/n” i said and went in the store, i got my milk and was about to pay “I'll pay for that” someone said and I glanced back to see San smiling “San-shi you don't have too” i said but he smiled and payed “you can pay me back by having a walk with me” 

“So why did you move here?” he asked as we walked “well...because of my health” I said he stopped and looked at me “health? Are you okay?, is it serious?” he asked “no not that serious, it's just a migraine not that serious, but thank you for asking.. Were you born here?” I asked changing the topic “no I wasn't born here my Dad passed away and my mom left me here” he said, eyes sad “oh I'm sorry” I said “so I've been living here since now I'm just waiting to audition and be something” he said smiling at the thought “audition? You can rap” I ask he laughs “more like I can sing, but I can rap too a little” he said rubbing his neck and chuckling 

“That's cool you got to sing for me someday okay” I smiled tilting my head a little, he just nodded and looked away “what about you? Any plans?” he asked “well umm I just applied for a university, I wanna be a robotics engineer” he looked at me confused “wait you'll leave but you just got here” he said “its an online university, I'm not leaving” I said “Ahhh” 

“This is my stop thank you so much for walking me back” he smiled 

“It's fine if you need anything I'll be here” he said, waved and went his way

Han ’s POV:

I sat down on the sand

I wish i was a human, how could he be so heartless and to his own kind, but then again, sirens dont have hearts, I looked at my hands, I killed someone with these hands, someone who did nothing wrong, its weird how everyone longs to live, but doesn't care about the same thing, the same feeling when they kill.

“I hate the sea” i said, there's not even a soul here, i remember the warmth of Y/n’s hand how it made me feel a weird sensation in my chest, i searched through my memory for a single time i felt the same warmth as i did yesterday, i remember opening my eyes in the sea, i wasn't born i looked the same as i do now, i had no parents, but this person who claimed to be my uncle, no memory of who i was just my name.

Born of sea turns to sea form

Born of land bleeds and turns to sand

 I heard a voice whisper “who's there?” i asked looking around but I saw no one 

But cursed to be a part of the sea, doesn't break easily

Does Not remember anything

“Who's there?” I asked again waiting for it to say something so I can follow its voice, but I hear nothing

Y/n’s POV:

It's half past midnight and yet no sign of Han  anywhere, maybe he got late or doesn't wanna come. I say to myself thinking of a proper excuse of why he didn't make it. I was kicking the water beneath me when I felt a pull on my feet. I glanced down to see the Siren boy… which almost gave me a heart attack.

“Can you not scare the shit out of me?” I said, he just laughed “you're my only source of entertainment” he said “what do you mean by only?” I ask but he ignores the question and stares at the thing I have in my hand “What's in your hand?” he asked “oh it's called ice cream its sweat here try it” he gives me a suspicious look but takes the treat from my hand, he takes a big bite and slowly chews it and swallows it.

“Wow you humans have a better taste in food then us, so this is how sweat tastes like” he said “well we have lots of seasonings here salty, spicy etc.” I say as he eats the ice cream completely “i wish you could taste them” I say “ I wish I could to” he says, my eyes were stuck on his tail “can I- can I touch your tail?” I ask he stops, eyes wide but then he looks at me “yeah” he says and slowly pulls me in the water, he takes my hand and submerge it under water where his tail is and slowly traces my hand over it, it was soft it had a beautiful red color, I wonder how it felt to have a tail and swim.

Han slowly lets me go and I panic “Hold on to me please.” I say and cling to him “I cant swim” I say he laughs at my reaction “you don't know how to swim? But you live near the ocean” he asks “nope and what does that have to do with anything”

“Okay I'm gonna put you back” he says holding my waist and lifting me up, he places me back on the rock. For a minute we stayed like that, my hands on his arms and his on my waist.

“so you don't eat humans do you?” i asked “if we did you guys probably would have noticed” he said,

 “where do you live?” 

I asked i was basically asking him tons of questions since the past hour “in a cave” 

“Do sea monsters exist?”

“Not that I've seen any?”

“What's in the Bermuda triangle?”

“Do I look like I've been there?.... Enough with the weird human Questions it's my turn to ask” he laughs,

“Okay” I laugh,

 “do you have a family?” he asks “yeah my mother died when I was young, i have an older brother, and my father” he nods he had this curious and astonished look on his face and I didn't know why “what about friends”

“I also have friends a few” I said “what are their names?” he asked which i don't know why he wanted to know but i asked him a lot of weird questions and he answered so cant really complain, 

“Changbin, Chan, Felix, Seungmin, Hyunjin and Jeongin” I said he tilted his head in confusion “Why are they all men?” he asked I laughed 

“well they are my childhood friends and I was never popular with other kids or girls for a matter of fact, so they were basically my only friends” he nodded in response.

“I wish I was a human” he whispered

“I wish I was a human” I whispered looking at my tail and the thing i just committed, she gives me a confused look “isn't it also nice to be a siren” she says slowly, but all i could focus was on the way her heart glowed, sirens can see human hearts, her heart was glowing a bit yellow and then green, yellow means happy or it could mean love too, green means confusion or jealousy and blue means sadness.

“I mean the sea is beautiful, and you must have other sirens who love you right?” she asked looking a bit unsure “sirens have no feelings, they're creatures without a heart, without family.. So no I was alone since the beginning” i said, her heart glowed blue, a darker shade of it, “I'm sorry” she said 

“Not your fault you don't need to apologize” I say, but she avoids my eyes and looks at her hands, i was just observing her, and up till now she was a cheerful and a curious human and… different, not that I meet a lot of humans but she gave of a weird comforting vibe.

“I want to ask you something?” I said it was something that's been disturbing me since the day I met her and saw her heart glow, she hums and looks at me “I-..” I was about to say it but i felt something watching us, I turned around to see something glowing

Uncle, I should have known he’ll follow me, I cursed under my breath “I have to go” I say and dive, i hear her calling me out but I need to get away from her, for her own good

~End Flashback~

“WHAT WERE YOU THINKING!” my uncle screamed at me, i kept my gaze down 

“SHE'S A HUMAN, WHY DIDN'T YOU KILL HER THE MOMENT YOU SAW HER?” he asked, but I said nothing “WHAT IF SHE KILLED YOU HUH?” he said shaking me, I snapped “BUT SHE DIDN'T” i said, i could see rage in his eyes growing and growing by every moment “IS THIS THE WAY YOU REPAY ME, OR DID YOU FORGET THAT I PROTECTED YOU, WHEN YOU DIDN'T KNOW ANYTHING” he said pushing me a little 

“Protect you my foot… all you did was tell me that you're my uncle other than that you never did anything, YOU LEFT ME TO BE EATEN BY SHARKS YOU DON'T REMEMBER THAT?” I asked, but he just stared at me “you have no right to tell me what to do or what not to do” i said 

“That's for me to decide” he said and with that he went in the cave

Y/n POV;

“Here you go the keys if you need anything I'll be downstairs okay” the landlord said 

I just moved into my new place at jeju it's not that big but its comfortable plus its near to the sea and let me say very very very cheap, I take the keys and head in my house  “darong-ah I told you those are just drawings of fish not actual fish” i tell my cat who's trying to catch the fish that I drew on the canvas. 

I'd say I'm not much of an art person to begin with. I just like to draw things related to the sea, which is one of the reasons why I moved here. “Okay that's it it's time for us to go to bed, come on” I pick her up and head to my room.

My room was a little big it had a study in the corner a bookshelf in the right corner and bed in the middle I put Darong on the bed “I'll get freshened up okay and don't you dare go back for the fish there just drawings okay” she just dismisses me and looks away “whelp I guess that’s my cue”.

“Darong you asleep?” i say in a low voice cats aren't deep sleepers, i take the towel off of my head and- Ring Ring~ 

My phone starts ringing “where the heck is it” i go outside to find it on the kitchen counter 

Hyunjin

“Hmm what's up Hyunjin”

“Hey what sup you settled yet?” he asks he sounded a bit tired from the other side

“Yes I did what's wrong? You sound a little tired?” 

“Yeah me and Chan just got back to find the house ruined by Kkami… so I'm just cleaning up I guess” I laugh at that I mean Kkami always ruins the house when Hyunjin’s not there but Darong ..noooo she ruins the house infront of me it's like  I hear her saying I don't like this throw it away.

“Give me the phone” Chan says to Hyunjin from the other line

“Y/n what do you think should I beat Felix or not?” the twist in the conversation

What did Felix do now!!?

“Why are you asking me that what did he do now?” I ask getting a little curious at what he did

“What.. did Seungmin not tell you yet?...” okay I think now I'm getting a little worried 

“No…. what's wrong” I ask a little hesitant

“The guys in the hospital”

“What WHY… is he okay”

“You should expect it by now … food poisoning he ate too much brownies” blank I think my mind went blank 

“I'm gonna kill him” that’s all I said, and I hung up on Chan and quickly dialed Felix’s number 

I mean I should have expected it. Felix's love for brownies is beyond this roof and it's not like this is the first time he had to visit the hospital for food poisoning. 

~beep beep~

“Hello”

“Where are you?” i go straight to the point 

“I- I'm home” he says a bit hesitant

“I swear to God Felix if your at the hospital I'm gonna kill you”

“It was just a little brownie. What's wrong with that and you know how much i love it and…”

Buzzing my head starts buzzing i could hear Felix calling out my name and asking if im alright, but the pain i can't see anything clearly 

Deep Breaths, Deep Breaths 

I tell myself I take in deep breaths the buzzing slowly goes away and my sight slowly comes back. I slowly get up from the ground and sit on the nearest sofa, my hands were shaking violently i've been getting these Migraines from about 4 years now, and when i say it's severe its severe my phone rings again

“Felix i'm fine”

“Y/n it's me Felix told me you had a migraine again are you okay?” the voice of my older brother says from the other side of the phone. I stop.

“Minho Im fine its okay it was just a small one im fine you don't need to worry” i tried to sound as okay as i could 

He sighs in relief “Okay good good… you almost gave me a heart attack” he says 

“Im fine im sorry you dont need to worry” i tell him

“It's okay but just call Felix before you go to sleep okay he was really freaked out …. And don't stress okay”

“Okay i'll call him good night” i hung up before he could say anything i just did not wanted him to be worried, i dialed Felix again 

“Y/N ARE YOU OKAY? Im sooooo sorry ill never eat brownies again just don't stress out okay i'm sorry” he says trying to control his tears from the other line 

“I'm okay Felix i'm sorry i got you worried” i say trying to control my laugh he so cute 

“Okay okay you take rest okay” he says sniffing 

“Okay you take your medicines kay” i say 

“Okay promise go to bed and rest okay bye”

“Bye

Flashback~

“I told you to wash the stairs why didn't you” my step mother yelled at me 

“I had to go to school. I told you, i'll do it after i'm done with my assignments” i told her, her face got so red.

“Don't get smart with me i'll lock you in the basement again” she said her face close to mine her anger radiated this heat off of her, i hate her so much, i do everything and then she takes the credit for all of it, i can't even tell dad, she just makes him so happy i can't take that away from him and Minho he was so hurt after Mom's death that i don't wanna burden him with all my problems.

“I told you, but i think you didn't hear me i have to go study and when im done ill do it” with that i started to head to my room when something hit my head, i started to get dizzy i look behind me, then down on the floor to see the vase broken, after that i pretty much don't remember what happened, everything just blacked out

“She's going to be alright” a voice said, “just please don't give her a lot of stress she has a sewer case of migraines that vase hit her at a very sensitive area its better to avoid things that hurt her”

I slowly opened my eyes to see my dad, and the doctor, Minho was in the corner his eyes puffed up as if he cried “Please come with me Mr. Lee i want to  prescribe her some medicines” the doctor said my father squeezed my hand, smiled at me and followed him outside, when he left the room Minho came close to my bed “Hi” he said with a small smile i wanted to say i'm okay but i couldn't “its okay dont say anything you need rest, i'm just disappointed in myself you used to tell me everything when we were kids and…… why didn't you tell me she was treating you like that?” he asked i just stared at him “Dad found out and its okay shes gone Dad divorced her” he said but he had that sad look on him, i know he was sad that i didn't tell him anything, i wanted to say a lot of things but we just sat there, silently communicating.

I came out to the beach, the night sky was beautiful, the calm cold air, and the sand beneath my feet, it was such a beautiful moment, i took a look at the sea, sometimes the sea looked so lonely, so lonely that i wanted to go in it and forget everything, i wished that rather than having a migraine  i could have lost my memories, i walked along the sea, with the soothing silence.

*singing*

I could hear someone singing in the distance, my feet started to follow the voice as I got closer the singing became louder, i wouldn't lie the song was beautiful almost hypnotizing, it felt like it was calling me i got near a rock, the sound was definitely coming from here, but what i saw was unbelievable it almost took my breath away, a man half naked with ….. A tail.. A merman, I was looking at a Freaking  Merman, he had black stunning hair with rainbow streaks, a beautiful face, and a red or maybe a maroon tail. It was beautiful, when he noticed me, he got scared and quickly went into the sea.

“Wait!” i said but he was far off gone, this can't be real “i think i took too many sleeping pills” i told myself trying to deny the fact that i just saw a merman, or something.

Chan:

He would be there to protect you to show how much manly he is but runs away EVERYSINGLE time he sees a ghost he comes to notice that you weren’t with him comes back holds someone’s arm “Y/n it’s okay I’m here for you.....” feels heavy breathing on his neck and turns around to see it’s not you it’s a ghost runs as fast as he can

After successfully coming out of the haunted house “see it wasn’t that bad” “YOU WERNT WITH ME THE WHOLE TIME CHAN!!!”

Minho:

Would be the joker laughs at literally everything and every time any one gets scared would literally LEAVE you at the haunted house and would not be sorry about it before going in he would scare the freak out off you

Before entering the haunted house comes near your ear and whispers “any last words” and then would laugh when you get inside he would be so cool about it and laughs at people getting scared *ghost jumps up from behind* “EVERY MAN FOR HIMSELF” and that’s it he runs leaving you alone to rot................. “MINHO you left me who’s the scaredy-cat now” he would smirk and and say “ohh I’m a cat alright but not scaredy sexy😏😏”

Changbin:

I think he would be the mad once he gets scared and especially sees you scared He fusses at everybody hates to see you scared *cough* or hates to get *cough* scared👀👀would probably hurt the ghosts feeling

*ghosts jumps up behind you* Changbin gets scared yells at the ghost “HEY GHOST WHO THE HECK YOU THINK YOU ARE SCARING PEOPLE LIKE THAT”

Ghost: It’s my job kid if you don’t like it you can leave

Changbin: you know what almost about to throw hands on the ghost when you pull him to somewhere else when your almost out he puts up another fuss. Ghost runs out the haunted house he runs out after him “DONT EVER SCARE ME OR MY GIRLFRIEND EVER LIKE THAT AGAIN”. Y/n: CHANGBIN NO!!!

Hyunjin:

The one that wanders off he would not notice it but would leave and start a conversation with a ghost

When you enter the haunted house*ghost jumps up* you get scared “okay that was scary hyunjin........hyunjin” you turn around to see that he’s not there and obviously found him with a ghost cit chatting “and then she says that don’t leave me again I mean she says it like I do it all the time” *ghost to you* “pls collect your man” when you come out of the haunted house you find him walking out with a DEMON “and that’s what happened we should totally hang sometimes”

Jisung:

He would act tough for you and wouldn’t even scream..........just kidding he screams a lot and really really loud inside the haunted house you lost him and when he sees a ghost he would scream really hard and that’s how you found him I mean he is the loudest member 👀👀

Y/n sees Han “are you okay??” He looks at her “IM A MAN”

Same Han runs out of the haunted house “DONT KILL ME I DONT WANT TO DIE”

Felix:

He would be the selfie king (although it would feel like its Hyunjin but) since he wanted to make a lot of memories with you also gets really scared posted the whole thing on Instagram

Felix before entering the haunted house. Felix: “lets take a pic before we go inside”. Y/n: “but we took 12 on our way here.....”. Inside the haunted house everyone is waiting to get spooked you see what’s the hold up and find Felix running after the demon “LET ME TAKE A PIC WITH YOU” you run after him “FELIX NOOO!!!”

Seungmin:

He would be the runner it would feel like he’s running a marathon

Before coming to the haunted house: *Seungmin puts on running shoes* Y/n: “you know it’s only a haunted house not a sport” Seungmin: “one can never be more careful”

Inside the house: Y/n sees Seungmin running “weren’t you behind me” “you were walking to slow” “seungmin ITS A HAUNTED HOUSE”

After the haunted house: You look to see Seungmin’s not with you you call him “where are you??” “I’m inside the car......” “ but I just got out”

Jeongin:

He would be the cry baby wanted to wait outside the whole time cant stand scary stuff hold on to you the whole time

Before entering the haunted house he hold on to you “I’ll wait by the car Haunted houses are not for me” after hours of convincing this poor baby he finally goes with you when you get inside “see Jeongin this isn’t even that......” *Jeongin in the corner rocking back and forth*” P-please don’t eat me”

When you finally have to leave you drag Jeongin outside the haunted house “someone call Bang Chan or JYP
