Something that needs to be addressed:

I've seen a lot of self-shippers who use other people's art (no credit) to introduce their f/os.

Self shipping and f/os are a lovely thing, but we have GOT to stop stealing artwork!

Not everything you find on Google images is fair use. It promotes pictures from various sites usually sorted by the amount of interaction the images had.

Use official art. If you're unsure, look at the wiki. Use their official sprites or character art, NOT fan art, unless it is your own work!

Using other people's art without permission is art theft. Reposting without credit is like a slap in the face to an artist. Follow the links to see if the image you found is official art or fan-made.

Y'know. This keeps popping up in my notifs and that's fine. I wish everyone this with their f/os. They love you so much.

When I wrote this, this was something that had never really happened to me. I wrote this with terrible experiences being my only. This was a dream of mine, to be comforted. This isn't even really all that much, looking back at it. Just wanting to be held and given a space to talk. But I wrote this into my selfshipping, partly believing I'd never experience it in real life, so I put it where I could and it helped. I wrote this as a wish.

What's astonishing is that, I now have this. In a real life relationship. I have a person now who sees me cry and holds me and asks me if I wanna talk about it. And then doesn't make fun of me or downplay my anything, really. He listens to me and talks to me. And he's just generally wonderful. I don't know my point here

Imagine. It's been a hard day. Week. Month. Whatever. And you're just drained. Tired. Your f/o notices, tipping your chin up (or down if theyre shorter) and brushing their thumbs over your cheeks, their eyes soft and sad as they stare at you. They gently thumb over the bags under your eyes, and or the stains of tears remaining on your cheeks.

After a beat, they drop your face and take your hand. Telling you let's go get a change of scenery. You let them pull you to wherever they want to take you. Maybe it's a spot special to you two, or even just to another quieter room. They have you sit down, and they sit next to you.

"Talk to me." they say gently, "you don't have to look at me if you don't want to. Just talk. What's wrong?"

And they listen as you talk, pouring out your worries, your heart. And when you're done, they pull you into a hug, thanking you for being so open with them.

Here’s a post for trans women self shippers because y’all deserve support too

To the trans women who ship with male characters: Your love for men is beautiful no matter what. It’s a special kind of love that no one else can understand like you do. You aren’t boring or wrong for loving male characters, because your love is unlike any other. There’s nothing wrong with being a trans woman into men, you do not love men in the same way a cis woman loves men. They love you too; love you for who you are. You’re gorgeous and unique and your f/os love that about you. You have a special place in their hearts.

To the trans women who ship with female characters: Your love for women is beautiful too. Love between two women is a good thing, and you are not bad for being a woman who also loves women. Your f/os love you for who you are and love how they can connect with you. There is nothing wrong about being a trans woman and loving women; your love is as beautiful and special as anyone else’s and no one else can understand the love you feel for women like you do because it’s a beauty unique to you.

To the trans women who ship with nonbinary characters: Your love is beautiful and special! There’s not a lot of talk about shipping with nonbinary characters in general, but how great is it that you can be trans and love other trans people? They love you and support you so much and understand you in a way no one else can. Your love is pure and special and never forget that.

Whether your f/os are also trans or cis, no matter what canon or headcanons you have, they love you and your love is like no other. The love trans women feel is special and you are beautiful for your love and attraction. To the straight girls, the bisexuals and pansexuals, lesbians, ace trans women, and everyone in between: You are beautiful, special, lovely, and your ships are so unique and great and you are loved.

Hi everyone, am still alive. Still selfshipping but mostly distantly. I'm still dating that guy mentioned previously, and he's been wonderful. Like. It's almost like everything I've ever thought of. Everything I've ever wanted. In one person. I don't know how I managed this.

Imagine your F/O realizing they're in love with you

Imagine them laying awake at night, wondering why they just can't get you out of their head before they finally realize, they love you.

Imagine them watching you smile, laugh or do something like and they're face starts to get hot and their heart starts to beat a bit faster as they realize just how perfect you look, how your laughter is music to their ears.

Imagine them realizing they love you when they first meet you, there's just something about you that drew them to you, maybe it was how the light bounced off your skin making you look ethereal, or your outfit that just seemed to for you perfectly.
