Summary: The one where they may be crowned royalty, but to them, you’ve royally owned their hearts

Heeseung:
“How did you manage to slip out at such a time?” You glanced over at the proudly gleaming boy beside you, his eyes coated with a gloss under the moon’s light as he rolled up the hem of his pants higher up his leg.
“Do you underestimate me, love?”
“I could never” your smile grew as you watched him shake his head, the dark strands of hair falling above his eyes with a sweeping motion.
HeeSeung stood tall, bunching his sleeves towards his elbows; the prince outstretched his arm, holding his palm up for you to enclasp your fingers in between his own. As soon as he felt the soft touch of your skin against his, he smirked softly at you as he strode forward, you following close behind.
Perhaps it wasn’t the best decision to sneak out of your kingdom at near midnight, especially concerning the fact it was your boyfriends parents kingdom. You knew you’d only get into slight trouble, HeeSeung had privileges that only he as the prince could; you were more worried about the obnoxiously cold river you were about to frolic around in with said prince. But alas, you knew this was the only time you could share alone without his guards trialing close behind him.
“Hurry up, slow poke- the water won’t wait for us any longer!” HeeSeung tightened his grip on your hand and began to fasten his pace towards the secluded bank, both of your shoes held close to his chest with his free arm so as to not lose (yet another) pair in the woods during your nightly adventures.
The towels you had stuck between a tree and boulder were still there- a tad worn down from the weather changes- but good enough to dry your legs in order to hide the evidence of yours and Hee’s rule breaking shenanigans.
You gently released your hand from the males, opting to rush ahead in front of him and ignore his whiny complaints to go straight to your favorite spot- the small waterfall hidden behind the clouds of trees. Without thinking, you impatiently ran into the slow moving stream, water droplets already finding themselves sticking all the way up your leg from your quick motions.
“Y/n you fool you were supposed to wait for me!” HeeSeung was whizzing straight towards you, desperately trying to match your somehow fast pace towards the waterfall a few feet in front of you. The male was exhausted already, panting as the water held his feet down each time he stepped making it difficult to catch up to you.
“How in God’s name are you so fast, woman?!” The prince’s voice croaked towards you, earning a rather cackly laugh back from you as you successfully reach the spot you had been aching to see again. His pants were soaked at the bottom from the harsh straining he had to do against the waters mass- his trainer would surely be disappointed in his lack of athletic ability in this moment.
The stone pressed into your back, the cold temps of the rock slipping through the thin fabric of your shirt as you leaned your back against the wall. Hardly having a care in the world at the unpleasant feeling, you opted to wiggle your fingers out under the drops of water that slipped over the waterfalls rocky edge- as soon as HeeSeung came into sight you flicked the droplets towards him, a few landing against the apples of his cheeks.
“You are so lucky I find you adorable-“ HeeSeung gripped onto your hips, tugging you close to his chest so you were face to face as you let out a breathy laugh, “-and that’s I’m rather out of breath right now” He blew a small gust of wind at your cheeks, sending one of the stray water drops that must have landed there, astray.
You leaned in, impossibly slow for his liking he had to admit, brushing the tip of your nose against his in a painfully soft manner. HeeSeung watched under his nearly closed eyes, his lips curved into an adoring smile. Looking up to meet his fine hold, you matched his smile with your own, merely casting your lips over his,
“The water's freezing”
HeeSeung snorted, rolling his eyes with a playful gleam as he finally closed the thin gap between the two of you.
Jay:
Your room was essentially a garden at this point. It started off with a few flower pots hanging on your balcony- and then a couple were so pretty you just had to bring them inside so the kingdom's beautiful sunrise casted warm amber petal shapes onto your ceiling.
Your boyfriend had made it his weekly mission to deliver a different type of wildflower to your quarters any chance he got when he was not training or doing errands for his father, the king. Usually it was slipped under your door with a sweet note attached squiggled with messy, rushed handwriting from said boy. You loved it nonetheless, even if they were a tad flat from being squeezed against the bottom of your door.
It was another evening of relaxing alone in your chambers, sketching mindless doodles onto your notepad as you sat criss cross in front of your balcony door; it provided the best light. You had no plans for the night, not when your friends were visiting other kingdoms and your boyfriend had some banquet the Royal family had to attend for foreign affairs. So of course, who were you to have expected three soft knocks on your door or a quick scratch against the floor from the thorns of a freshly plucked flower sliding on the hardwood.
Abruptly standing up quick as a dart from your spot, your pencils went flying under the sunsets shadows and rolled underneath your desk- you only gave it a narrow sighted glance before fleeing to the door that couldn’t get closer any slower. You were determined to at least catch a glimpse of whomever your boyfriend must have sent to do his daily floral delivery since he himself were too busy talking people up and sipping champagne.
“Jay?” You were taken back by the figure in front of you, your hand still hooked around the door handle, “shouldn’t you be at the banquet?”
“Technically, yes-“ the boys cheeks were pink, a rather shy smile reaching his ears as he leaned into press a comforting kiss to the side of your head. He slipped past you and immediately went inside your room, “but I fibbed and said I had caught a fever.” Jay snorted at his obvious white lie, finger quotes matching his proud energy.
You shook your head at Jay’s mischievous acts, though you couldn’t say you weren’t happy to see him. Jay had already taken his place onto your bed, leaning his head to the side to rest on his palm, his eyes wandering around your room with a satisfied gleam.
“It seems you love your flowers, hm?”
“Well they’re from you, of course I do” Your lips turned upwards at his modest smile, finding his sudden shyness adorable. He shook his head at you, scoffing as he noticed the look you were giving him while you sunk down next to him in the blanket madness, “must you look at me like that, woman?”
“Whatever could you mean?”
He unglued his eyes from the lamp, his vision with speckles of greens and blues from the bulbs brightness. Jay side eyed you, eyeing over your prideful smile, “as if you don’t know-“ he looked away before he could become too encaptured by your sweet gaze onto him, “do you view me as a lovesick fool?”
“I look at you as if you are my world, love”
The prince huffed, chest puffing up as the air from his lungs escaped through his parted lips. Jay didn’t bother to act tough around you, he without a care entangled your hand with his and pulled you into his side, one leg stuck under yours.
His head leaned onto yours, his senses being trapped by your intoxicating aroma, “well you are mine”
Jake:
“Will I see you tonight?”
Your body was hidden behind the horse, giving the male only a view of his most favorite pair of eyes he ever had seen, “maybe, maybe not-“ you glanced up at him, biting the inside of your cheek to suppress your smile at the prince, “-guess you’ll have to wait and see, Sim”
Jake whined, mumbles of complaints leaving behind him as he walked up to the dark horse. He trailed his hands along it’s back, long strands of black hair entangling between the cracks of his fingers. Jake hummed to himself, as if contemplating what to do next.
You on the other hand were simply trying to keep your focus on caring for the animal-weaving your hands in it’s hair to untangle the knots, scratching it’s face to relieve it’s itches;, though the fact the handsome prince was currently standing opposite of you on the other side of the horse was making it awfully tough to do your job. Given he was also not so subtly sighing and glancing at you every few seconds, made it that much harder.
A strong sigh left your throat, causing Jake to smirk to himself at gaining your attention once again. You paused what you were doing, opting to just move around the end of the horse and stand in front of the male who was now scrambling to compose himself.
“What’s wrong, Jake?” You crossed your arms over your chest, the shirt you were wearing pulling down to reveal the dainty locket said male gave to you some time ago.
He parted his lips to talk, a single syllable breaking his silence until he caught a peek at the jewelry he had gifted you, “you still wear it.” His ears felt warm, he was sure his cheeks looked as it had felt- on fire. Jake trailed his sight along the hem of your shirt and up to your eyes; a sort of prideful feeling overtook the young price, the sight of the girl he was in love with wearing something he had gifted her made him swell with a desire to call you his in front of the entire kingdom.
“Actually, yes-“ Jake ran his tongue over his drying lips, staring into your equally adoring matching eyes while his heel lifted up and down on the ground in anxiousness, “something is rather wrong, Y/n”
“And what would that be, lover boy?” It was your turn to smirk, leaning your body closer to his in a quick step forward. Jake surely brought confidence out in you, but you’d never admit it.
“Lover- y/n-“ Jake groaned, running his hands down his face in weak frustration. He was beginning to lose patience in his own waiting game against time. He was ready to declare you his, to ride his family’s horses you had always loved to take care of through the castle’s gardens and stay there until dusk came.
“I’d wish for you to go to the ball with me.”
“With you?”
“With me. And not as just my company, but mine” Jake filled air into his cheeks, pouting his lips into an oh before releasing them with a small pop, “I mean- please”
You didn’t mean to laugh- okay, cackle- but you couldn’t help yourself. The respectful, charming prince you knew was finally ready to be with you and the joy you were feeling was incredible. Obviously he didn’t know that was why you were laughing, given by the fact his eyes went wide and his mouth dropped open.
The boy started stuttering in nervousness, thinking he had made a mistake being so blunt and not respecting your own wishes. Jake squeezed your hands into his, apologizing profusely for making things awkward and taking up your time.
“Jake- I’d love to”
Like a lost puppy he was, that’s what he reminded you of. His beautiful brown eyes with a cast of excitement running over yours, the fast drumming of his fingers on the back of your hand- he really was adorable.
“Oh thank you Jesus-“ the male swooped in, cupping his hands over your cheeks and pressing his lips to yours. You exhaled through your nose, fluttering your eyes closed as you moved your lips with his.
A rather harsh whind rumbled through the barn, the sound coaxing you and Jake to slowly separate with a shared giggle. Ashort trail of saliva following the detachment, only making the two of you bite your lips in sheepishness. The horse behind you was now moving it’s head around and tapping it’s hooves onto the concrete, as if it were approving what had just happened.
Here’s to hoping the rest of the kingdom does.
Sunghoon:
Sunghoon’s face was nearly mirrored to yours in the moment- both of you gawking at the monstrosity in front of you.
You turned your head to look at him, eyes narrowing in disbelief at the prince, “did they not teach you to cook in your training?”
“Wha- no?! I had chefs to cook for me!” Sunghoon was taken back, mimicking your expression and puffing his chest while pointing towards the “food” on the counter, “and this is why, woman!”
You groaned at the male, shaking your head, “we cannot serve this to your parents”.
Sunghoon teetered his head from side to side, as if he were deciding on what to do. He wasn’t the best cook, he knew if he attempted the meal again it would only taste the same as it had when the two of you tried it previously. The male rubbed his temples, reaching his hand to curve over the edge of the counter so he could lean against it.
“Let’s just try again, we have time!”
Sunghoon halted his rocking movement, dropping his other hand to match it with his one against the counter, “love, I’d rather not give food poisoning to my parents; the kingdom would have my head”. A breath of frustration was heard from him, the breeze causing his hair to rest above his eyes.
Chewing your lip in an anxious manner, you inhaled before moving around the counter to grab the failed dish, tossing it straight into the garbage can- container and all. You straightened your back, putting your attention onto your perplexed boyfriend who had yet to move from his spit, “well? Let’s get to work shall we”
You earned yourself a whine of complaints with that, though you only tuned him out and opted to instead drag his arm back over with you to the other side of the kitchen where your ingredients laid haphazardly.
Sunghoon, clearly not impressed, dramatically leaned into your side; if it weren’t for your quick reflexes he surely would have fallen face first into the flour, though maybe you should have let him. You snorted at that, using your shoulder to push him back up, “cmon you big baby, we have stuff to do”
“Yes, like each other! Let’s dismiss this mess please, I’m tired of it” Sunghoon wiggled his fingers towards you, attaching them to the sides of your waist so he could move you to stand in front of him with your back pressed against the ledge, “Pleaseeee, Y/n, we’re never gonna be able to do this dish correctly”
“Not with that attitude we won’t-“ your index finger pressed to his chest, gently shoving him back, “now let’s work” You encouraged him with a small smile, kissing his pouty lips a few times with quick pecks.
The male was hardly satisfied, but he’d rather not piss you off today- so being the good listener he likes to believe he is, sunghoon nodded along with what you were saying and began to read off the directions, just as you did earlier.
Things were going smooth, sunghoon was continuing his part in cooking by simultaneously reading as well as mixing, as you added the ingredients.
“Okay, now it says to add in a tablespoon of basil into the dry ingredients” sunghoon read off the paper, watching you diligently as he passed you the herb. The boy wasn’t quite expecting the sudden whack on his shoulder, yelping in shock at the contact.
“What was that for?!” Sunghoon glared at you now, his eyebrows furrowing together.
“I know why we fucked up the meal earlier-“ you pressed the bottle back into Sunghoon’s grasp, allowing him to read the words on the front of the packaging. As soon as his knowing look popped up and a drawn out “O” fell past his lips, you began again, “-you had the wrong ingredient out this entire time, dummy.. this is dill”
It was silent for a few seconds, not for long as it was bound that once you and Sunghoon made eye contact you had filled the large kitchen with snorts and loud cries of laughter.
Sunoo:
Being in a relationship with the prince from the kingdom opposite of yours didn’t seem like such a big deal until reality sets in that you were supposed to be rivals. It wasn’t like your kingdoms were at war- Nono. Your parents just did not get along, and instead of fueling it into hatred, it was turned into annual winter tournaments.
What exactly does that mean for you and sunoo? You were expected to face head to head each winter solstice, along with your kingdoms best suited contestants, and to titles for your kingdom. And of course being it that you happened to be the designated princess and prince of your homes, it was even more weight on your shoulders to not let your parents down.
You couldn’t care less.
And that was obvious considering you were just about knee deep in snow, trudging through the forest to meet up with your hidden boyfriend. Could you get into serious trouble? More than likely. But they’d have to catch you first, and so far in the months you had been dating they were clueless.
Precautions were set every time you and sunoo chose to meet up. You were to meet at the border between your kingdoms, only travel through the woods, and leave when guards were least expecting it. Unfortunately that meant staying up until midnight and falling asleep at dawn, but to each of you, it was well worth it.
Even now, as snow crept into your shoes and melted into your socks and your nose burnt from the cold, you’d face the cold for the cute prince anyday.
You were nearly frozen solid at this point, the journey never ending it had seemed- or maybe that was just the frostbite getting to your head. But alas, you kept moving; stepping over mountains of snow and dodging fallin’ tree branches, you were bound to get there at some point-
“WAH”
Your arm was suddenly yanked to the side, your body nearly losing it’s balance as you fall into a familiar hold at the sound of a sharp wail on your side. Your head quickly turned up in shock, eyelashes reaching your eyebrows, “sunoo??”
The boy peered down at you, his infamous infectious smile showcasing his playfulness. He wrapped his arms securely around you, pulling you up to stand flat onto your feet against him, “hi baby!”
“I thought you were a guard, asshole” despite your name calling, the laugh at the end of your words and the similar expression to your boyfriends completely dismissed your feigned annoyance at the male.
“No, but I could have been-“ sunoo pointed his finger at you, tapping your nose in the process, “-you were just about past the border if I hadn’t pulled you aside, missy!”
Squinting your eyes, you glanced around the trees to avoid his amused gaze. You were clearly tired from the constant preparations for the tournament, plus the added lack of sleep from your late night meetups with Sunoo. Guess you were so exhausted you hadn’t realized you were about to enter Sunoo’s kingdom.
“Exhaustions caught up to you, too, huh?”
You nodded your head, scrunching your nose at the feeling of snow landing on your skin while snuggling closer to Sunoo’s warmth- you were standing in the woods in the midst of winter’s freezing temps, after all.
Light touches were felt under your eyes, sunoo slowly rubbing his gloveless hands onto your skin to brush away the melted flurries in such a soft manner you’d barely felt it if it hadn’t been your senses were so keen for the man.
“Wanna head to the cabin?” Sunoo rubbed his hands up and down your arms, spreading friction between the two of you to warm you up.
Taking his hand into yours, you kissed the back of his hand and guided him with you through the snow to your small cabin at the side of the forest. Sunoo figured that was a yes, though he wasn’t trustful of his voice to double check considering he was trembling at the moment- and not from the cold.
Jungwon:
“I cannot concentrate if you continue to look at me like that”
You shrugged, resting your elbow on the table top to place your chin into your palm, “what can I say, I find you more interesting than this homework”
Jungwon snorted at that, his shaggy dark hair falling above his eyes as he shook his head at your cheesy words. The male continued to write away, focusing on his chemistry homework from his previous lesson that day rather than play into your distractions.
“My father would never allow us to study together again if he catches us goofing off, pay attention Y/n” Jungwon glanced up at you through his strands of hair, trying not to give into his desire to scooch his stool even just a tad closer to yours.
“I’m his favorite subject in his kingdom, he wouldn’t mind if his prince happened to take a quick break” you noted this as if it was a fact, you were determined to spend time with your boyfriend other than doing homework from your private lessons with him.
Jungwon knew you were correct, at least about you being the kings favorite; though not so much about being able to goof off when you both knew this was your designated class time. The last time the two of you decided to skip studying and head across the kingdom to your favorite bakery, one of his fathers guards happened to catch you and ratted you both out.
You were both banned from the bakery for a week after that- it was horrendous to go without pastry’s.
“Nope, not happening, baby.” Jungwon’s voice was sturdy, unlike his will at the moment.
You were the rebellious one in the relationship, and you’d willingly own up to the title if it meant you could skip this rather boring assignment and go swimming in Jungwon’s pool in the gardens.
A sweet smile replaced your frown, not that Jungwon could see; your chair screeched across the floor boards, the table bumping slightly from your feet hitting the legs as you practically sat aligned with Jungwon’s chair.
“What’re you doing, y/n”
“Nothing, I just wanted to sit closer to you- we were practically continents apart” reaching across the table to your previous spot, you slid your papers back to you and pretended to get to work.
Jungwon, knowing you far too well, was incredibly suspicious of you in the moment- now he was the one having a hard time concentrating. He was too busy thinking about what you had planned, his eyes sneakily darting over to you every few seconds as if you were to make a move.
“Jungwon I can feel you staring at me, love”
The boy choked at your sudden confession, using his free fist to hit his chest a few times. Ignoring the way you called him out, he continued to write down his answers onto his paper- really he was just drawing random squiggles because he absolutely could not concentrate.
As a few minutes passed of the two of you sitting in silence, Jungwon still couldn’t focus. He knew you had something up your sleeve, but he wasn’t able to pinpoint what considering you were still reading through the science book and writing down your answers after every page.
A frustrated groan was the first thing to break the silence, followed by Jungwon’s chair sliding out beneath him as he stood up with his hand extended out in front of him.
In your head you were celebrating- your plan was succeeding all with due time.
“What’s wrong, Won?” You bit back a smirk, nibbling on the end of your pencil instead to keep your “game face” on as you observe Jungwon’s obviously annoyed expression.
Jungwon rolled his eyes, displeased at your clear victory yet again, “cmon, we’re taking a break-“, the prince curled his fingers around yours at the contact of your palm in his, “-but we need to hurry before the guards get out of their meeting”
Your notebooks and books were left in the dust now as Jungwon led you through the long corridors of the castle, the smiles you both wore as large resembling the Cheshire Cat.
“Hey- you two are supposed to be studying!”
Niki:
Was Niki supposed to currently be at some neighboring kingdom's princess’ birthday right now? Yes. But to be fair, would they really notice he’s missing? No. His parents only “forced” him to attend to get his kingdom vanity points. He’d much rather annoy his girlfriend who just so happens to be his family’s Gardner, then sit and watch some girl eat her birthday cake.
“Niki would you stop being a pain”
“I would, but it’s unfortunately what I’m best at!” Niki’s eyes crinkled into crescents as he flashed you his signature grin, his body still laying across the bench that held all your new packs of flower seeds.
You wanted to complain, but it was rather funny seeing his lanky self sprawled across a much smaller object- even if he was smushing your seeds, “if you don’t get up how am I supposed to do my job?”
Niki scoffed, waving his hand at you before positioning them as a pillow behind his head so he could properly look at you, “I’ll pay you either way, y/n-“ he giggled to himself at his following line, “-partner privileges!”
“Oh dear God”
The snort that sounded from you was hard to contain, amusing Niki further considering you were playing into his shenanigans. The young prince scooted up just enough for you steal a few packets that had been underneath his legs, his hands catching the air as you pulled your wrists away swiftly before he could catch them.
“You brat-“ niki pouted, playfully turning your head as if to ignore you, “-are your flowers more important than I?”
Your silence gave him his “answer”, the boy peeling an eye open to gawk at you for not replying, “hey! I skipped a party for you!”
Laughing at his feigned sadness, you reached over to ruffle his hair- only for you to land in his lap at the sudden capture of your arms into his grip. You let out a huff at the impact, trying to scramble back up in many failed attempts as the prince blatantly laughed in your face watching you struggle.
“Niki I have to get back to work-“
“Tough!”
Your whines of complaints were meeting deaf ears, Niki only wrapping his arms tighter around you to keep you still. The males eyes gleamed, clearly he was enjoying himself annoying you rather than attending to his business- lucky he was cute, you had to think.
The spring breeze flew past you like the bees surrounding your flowers, wisping your hair around your face and onto Niki’s with every gust of wind. The look on his face as strands of hair slapped onto his skin was entertaining in itself, not to mention the fact it was wrapped around his lips as if he wore a beard.
Your cheeks puffed as you held in a laugh, your hands lifting from your lap to remove the hair from Niki and back over your shoulder; oh how you wish you had your phone in that moment.
“I did you a favor, may I get up now?”
The boy shook his head, leaning you closer to him so he could look properly into your eyes without the sunlight nearly blinding him, “I’d like to sit here longer, my future queen”
Your face felt as red as the roses you had yet been able to plant that afternoon, your eyes wanting to look anywhere but the smirking man in front of you; yet anytime you attempted to, he only lifted his finger to your jaw, guiding your vision back to his sunlit face.
“Fine. I suppose we can sit here a moment longer” you leaned into his touch now, resting your head into the crook of his neck so he could rub his hand down your spine.
“Perfect”

Paint Me in Gold
Minghao x Reader
Fluff, Mentions of death, Painter! au, Semi-royal au, Ghost! au
3.1k words
Summary: The one where you’re forced to be a muse for a highly respected artist and find out his secrets along the way
Tumblr media
“Sir, you have a new client, do meet them soon yeah?”
Without taking his gaze off the canvas in front of him, the man hummed, acknowledging the young woman’s words without having to use his own. He was too focused on the angle of his brush and the precision it gave him to have really given the girls instruction much thought- not that she minded, she knew to not drop anything important on him as he was working.
The restless woman stood in the door frame, a stack of papers tucked close to her chest as she awaited her cue to leave. Her heel cladded feet tapped in a composed tempo against the floors, small clicks sounding every time her toe’s landed on the boards. Her heavy eyes shifted from the small clock in the far left of the art room to the painting figure just a few feet away from her, anxiously anticipating for the male to excuse her for the day. Unknowingly, she began to patter the nails of her fingers onto the bulky stack of papers in her arms, creating a small rhythm in alignment with the sound of her shoe tapping against the floor.
The noises echoed into the silent room, making it audibly easy for Minghao to hear the sounds the girl was making behind him, “please stop.”
Quickly gaining her composure, the girl who labeled herself as Minghao’s assistant slid her previously tapping foot back next to the other, straightening her posture once more as she cleared her throat, “excuse my interruption, sir”.
“None taken, though I must say I would rather prefer they would be further halted”
“Yes, of course sir”. The assistant did not fear the artist, that was not why she addressed him as sir rather than by his name; no, rather she just knew of his importance and would feel far more comfortable calling him by respectable titles. Or it was partially because the royals he had associated himself would have her head, if not.
“You are free to make travels home, Miss Caroline. Do not think you are in dire need to babysit me all hours of the day,” Minghao moved his free hand off the canvas, waving it behind him without turning his head, “do have a good night, Caroline.”
The woman stuttered, “y-yes, thank you sir”. As if he could see her actions, she bowed to the man before letting out a much needed breath of air as she turned to leave the room. With the sound of her thin heel’s sounding through the hallway walls, the corridor became empty once more besides the hardworking painter and his equipment.
Minghao sighed, taking the opportunity to stretch his wrists now that he was alone. He scooted back from the painting, giving himself a better view of the nearly completed product. His eyes were trained to see the shades and lines others couldn’t; he noticed the spots of the gold shimmer lightly dusted onto the tops of the trees and the speckled white in the deep blue river that flowed between them. He was satisfied, maybe not proud, but he was satisfied.
Just as he was beginning to think he could call it quits for the night and celebrate with a very deserved drink, his moment of relief after hours of finishing touches was cut short as his name was called from the spot his assistant once stood,
“Pardon me, are you Minghao?”
The foreigner would have jumped out of his skin had it been he was still able to do so. The male daringly turned around his chair, his eyes right away finding those of whom the voice belonged to; and in the same moment, as his eyes met theirs, he would have sworn he was able to feel his heart beat once again.
“Perhaps that is correct, though it determines as to who is asking?” Minghao sucked in a breath, pursing his lips as if it were to make him appear intimidating while uncrossing his legs to rest his hands out onto his knees.
“Oh- uh my name’s Y/n. I’m supposed to schedule a painting for the Moon Palace’s gala?” You fumbled with the folder in your hand, hastily flipping through the pages in the organizer to find the long agreement (which you were told to not read) you were ordered to present upon meeting the artist. Once found, you pulled the form out from it’s sleeve, mindlessly walking towards the famous painter with the paper swinging side to side in your hands as if it were a tempting offer.
You stopped in front of the male, a timid smile reaching your features to hopefully ease the way his face held an uninterested expression- his eyebrow’s were so furrowed you swore he was naturally broody. Your hand reached out in front of you, your wrist slowly shaking the paper to get the man to grab it himself.
Still unsure with your presence and sudden proclamation, Minghao hesitantly grabbed the form with a small grunt. He leaned back against the table, turning the documents pages to skim through the contract.
You stood patiently, rocking back and forth heel to toe while your attention focused onto the canvases hung around the walls of the large room. You had to give credit to the highly regarded man, his work was truly incredible- you could see why the king and queen had sought after it.
A low whistle blew past your lips, earning a displeased look from Minghao; to which you only responded with an embarrassed chuckle as you reverted back to staring around the room as he read.
“Have you read this, Miss Y/n? I see your name is illustrated in several points here, are you aware of such thing?” Minghao spoke up with his eyes now lifting up to you, breaking the silence and causing you to choke on spit from his sudden deceleration. Your head tilted forward in confusion, though your eyes must have been blown open in shock because the world seemed much clearer in that moment.
Amused at your reaction, Minghao snorted at your coughing fit that had followed from the saliva you accidentally lodged down your throat, “I’m inclined to take that as a no.” He stood up, forcing you to take a few haltered steps back in order to maintain personal space- considering you had just met him and all you figured he would not find a strangers face in front of his very flattering.
“Uh- well could you maybe give me an insight as to why exactly my name was highlighted in the business agreement between you and one of the royal families?” The nerves were beginning to build in your stomach, your fingers absently beginning to fumble with one another while you stared helplessly at Minghao; whom was still smirking at your previous state.
“I supposed I could do that, it would be fair wouldn’t it?” Minghao signaled you to follow him, pointing towards a bar stool across the room of his art supplies, “have a seat, would you?”
You muffled a few sures and an of course, finding a seat on the stool he had pointed at. You immediately crossed a leg over the other, a way to sort of keep yourself put together in front of a man you had never met up until moments ago. Minghao made his way back to where the two of you had previously stood, opting to take a seat opposite of you, though ways a way.
“Uhm no offense but why are we a billion feet away from each other? How does this explain why I’m in the forms-“
Minghao tutted, telling you to give him a moment as he moved his finished painting to rest on the desk behind him, then pulling up a blank canvas to rest on the eisle stood in front of his sitting figure.
In just the few minutes you had known the infamous painter, you had been confused countless of times already, this was now an added moment. You had to have sat in the chair for a few good minutes as Minghao continued to twist and turn around in his surrounded area, his hands rapidly reaching for the things around him as if they were all memorized positions.
“Minghao-“
“Impatient are we?” Minghao’s voice matched the smug smirk that was rather etched onto his face- a very different expression compared to the permanent frown he had worn when you first entered the studio.
Huffing, you crossed your arms across your waist, leaning one elbow down to rest onto your knee as you placed your palm into your hand, “no, just curious, concerned, nervous-“
“So, impatient?”
You couldn’t help the small smile that erased the pout you held, grumbles of protest following suit, “oh whatever-“ you groaned in annoyance, dramatically tossing your head back behind you while dragging your hands down your face, pulling your features down along with it, “-would you just tell me now?”
Minghao shrugged, nodding his head in acceptance. The male set the last few brushes along his eisle before sliding in his chair to left of the large canvas in order to look properly at your face as he spoke, “you’re my muse”
“Eh?”
“It says in the documents you are to be my muse for my paintings, do with that information as you please”
Your mouth fell open, eyes narrowing towards the boy across you who began to open his paints, “so i’m essentially just apart of a business deal so you get paid for your work and the Royal Moon family get a few prizes paintings?”
“Do you expect to be compensated for your participation? If so I’m sure you will find yourself highly disappointed” Minghao cocked a brow at you, rolling his eyes at your pissy scowl, “now now, I never said I was going to do it, now did I?“
You laughed at that, pretending to wipe stray tears from your eyes, “right so then what is the equipment you have set in front of you now, Minghao?”
“My own project, you don’t need fret about it Miss Y/n, I do not share my private matters with anyone besides my own thrusted colleagues-“ minghao grinned a rather large Cheshire embodied smile, rubbing his hands together as if he were greedily eyeing a steak, “now, let’s get started shall we?”
————————
“Minghao how much longer do I need to sit here my ass-“
“Y/n it’s been a mere 3 hours, can you not handle more?” Minghao sighed for the thousandth time in the hour, he was frustrated as much as you were; only he was growing tired of your complaining when you only had to sit there whereas he had to consistently move his arms and body around.
“Alright, how about we take a short break, hm?” He arched his back and twisted his hips to get his bones back in shape. You were eager to oblige, jumping up from your stool to practically prance on over to the stretching male, following his movements as you too stretched out your sore limbs.
You took the small frame of time to dwell on the Chinese boy beside you, noticing his stature when he wasn’t arched over a canvas and the calluses on his hands from holding brushes and chalks 24/7. He was pretty cute, weird aura and all.
“What do you suppose we do, it is nearing midnight now and I do not gather there is much going on outside in this particular moment?” Minghao glanced over at you, your eyes matching his gaze from your mini checkout of his body. The boy’s smile was small at that, having already noticed your stares- they were rather hard to miss he had noted.
You let out a few coughs, very terribly playing off your embarrassment as if you had something stuck in your throat yet again. You ran your eyes around the room instead of at Minghao’s, pondering over things you could do in a break from whatever it is that you had been doing the last few hours, “ah! You could show me your corridors! I’d like to know more about the man who has been checking me out the last 3 hours”
Minghao scoffed, ignoring the way he felt his chest tighten at your words, instead playing it off with a shake of his head as he began to walk away from you, “that is not what I was doing”
“Wha- hey! Wait for me-“
——————-
In comparison to the room Minghao had declared as his studio, his archives room was on a whole different level- literally. You climbed a billion stairs to get here, though the architecture and old antique decorations made it quite worthwhile. The flooring was a velvety red with gold encrusted detailings, diamonds a key theme in the rooms furnish. It was a marvelous beauty, that was true. The crystal light fixture that hung down over the many rows of books and folders casts a warm yellow hue around the room, opting to make a comforting yet elegant vibe to the rooms touch. There were old scriptures hung on the walls and books that had to her over a century old scattered around the many shelves. You were left in awe in the middle of the room as you mindlessly guided your hand over a few dusty records, wondering how a young man such as Minghao could have gotten his hands on such timeless treasures.
You made your way over to the back of the steep room, leaving a clueless Minghao to find some sort of entertainment for the two of you to enjoy until you’re ready to get back to work. It was as if the rows of books were never ending, the dates on the shelves beneath the works only increasing with time- 1910, 1850, 1700- you truly were in shock that some of these were still even in tact. It felt as if you had walked for miles, and seeing as the end wall was finally now in sight, you were fighting the urge to run up and hug it. You hobbled your way to the end of the room, eyes falling to the single bookcase that was in the corner behind a few separate shelves.
Unlike the wall of tall book cases, this particular cubby had no written date, only the words “before time” were left for the mind to wander. A few rather flimsy, stained journals sat on the shelves, along with a few pictures of a group of boys and a girl whom looked an awful lot like the princess of the palace you worked for. Your curiosity only grew at that, and before you could register what you were doing your fingers were already delicately opening the journals contents.
“Y/n- Those are not to be touched! Step away, please!” Minghao’s panicked voice was a mere echo to you, your ears only picking up on a distant murmur. The male, who hadn’t noticed you didn’t hear a word he said, began to frantically run to where you were standing, adrenaline rushing through his lifeless body. Only he was unfortunately too late, you had already begun to read the journal he knew was dated back to the day of the accident- judging by the way you hysterically slammed the cover shut and tossed it back into the spot clean of dust from where it had set for so long, Minghao had begun to realize he was far too late to stop you.
“Y/n-“ he gasped, eyes blown wide as his hands reached to grab your arm, causing you to pull back and step backwards in shock.
“Mind telling me what happened 200 years ago? Because it seems to me that the girl I currently work for, along with you and 12 other boys I have more than likely seen around the kingdom- should be very well 6 ft under currently and definitely not attending balls and painting murals-“
Minghao dropped his hands to his sides, an old feeling he hadn’t felt in a long time creeping it’s way back to him. Fear. The last time he felt scared was the day he woke up on the bridge, covered in old stained blood and feeling as lifeless like he never had before. But now as he stands in front of a girl he had only just met a mere 4 hours ago, he was scared- he had knew he felt you were going to play a significant role in his “life” once he made eye contact with you when you entered his door prior, but that was when he still playing human.
“I, uh-“
You interrupted him, your forehead furrowing as you put the pieces together, “is that why you talk like an 80 year old British man?”
Minghao gawked at your words, his own mouth falling open in shock as yours did just a few moments earlier. He knew you were going to say something, it was inevitable; though he was not expecting you to mock his speech, “I’m sorry, pardon me?” His voice rose an octave, his face pulled back in disgust, “I do not speak like an 80 year old man, I only illiterate proper speech-“
“See! 80 year old man!”
Minghao pursed his lips, closing his eyes as he punched the bridge of his nose, “I do not-“
“It’s fine though because you’re apparently even older than that, you look good for over 200 years old, props to you” you shrugged, not quite understanding why he was so pressed over the way he talked.
“I look good-“ he did finger quotes as he spoke, “because I died when I was 23, I haven’t aged since then” he spoke in a matter of fact tone, as if it were common knowledge to know this- let alone be speaking to a ghost to begin with. Your mouth fell into an O shape, head nodding along with it.
The two of you stood there for a few seconds just looking at one another, though you were also trying to relish in the fact you were standing in the presence of a man who apparently died 200 years ago and wasn’t very concerned with the fact you knew.
“So uh, Mings- can I call you Mings?”
“I- quite actually I don’t think I care-” Minghao began, wrapping his fingers around your wrist to tug you behind him as he made way to the front of the room, “-though if you refer to me as Mings may I continue my portrait of you, Miss Y/n?”
Your nose wrinkled at his words, his incredibly proper speech only making you giggle knowing the real reason he spoke like an old man- he was one.
“I suppose, Sir Xu; though I’d prefer you to address me as Y/n if you are to paint me” you chuckled into the palm of your head, snorts being slightly muffled due to the laughs that fell through the cracks of your fingers at the dirty look Minghao casted at you behind his shoulder.
“I’m not sorry!”

He Who Hides The Masque
Vernon X Reader
Fluff, angst, mentions of death, Masquerade! au, Royalty! au, Ghost! au
2.8k words
Summary: The one where your life truly begins after death and it’s all thanks to your eternal love
Apart of the SVT ghost series! :)
Tumblr media
Vehicles lined down the palace roads, carriages and buggies of all models and designs- the only common factor that tied the rides together was the high-class, posh royals amongst the world who owned them (though you’d never find them caught dead having to drive themselves, nono, they had chauffeurs for that). Even the twisted pathways, covered in polished stone and resilient moss, that led to the draw bridge across the body of water had some sort of transportation blocking the trails.
It was true that your family's ball was quite the anticipated event; after all, it was your family who created the masquerade theme. Not to mention your parents, in some remarkable way, were soundly respected amongst the royal court; perhaps it was because they owned righteous amounts of land? Or maybe rich people just really loved a night of free champagne and ornate formal attire to boast their wealth. And being it as you were the princess of The Palace of The Moon, you were also to attend the significantly awaited masquerade amongst the crowds of aging, lavish men and women; and even worse, as one of the prioritized guests of honor.
“Hey- ow- alright!”
You shifted in the tight fabric, trying to squeeze in as deep of a breath as the firm fitted corset would allow you to, “I think it is tight enough, Miss An, thank you for your assistance.” The middle aged woman cleared her throat, humming as she tightened the knot behind your back one last time.
Wincing at the sudden tug against the strings, feet losing their balance on the wooden step stool from said tug, you looked up to meet the helpers gleaming eyes and straight smile, her gaze quickly looking down to the safety pins in her clasped hands. “Good day, Miss An,” you bowed your head, inviting her to exit the room, leaving you with the new pains in your waist.
As soon as the door was shut, you were quick to hop off the stool, groans of exhaustion and utter annoyance following suit. Your hands nimbly began to fumble with the corset in hopes to loosen it just enough for your organs to no longer be crushed against your skin. You had been standing atop the stool for hours at that point, starting with the first layer of your ball gown being thrown around you up to just moments prior with Miss An trying to get your stomach stuck to your bones.
“Really I don’t quite see the point of all this, can I not just toss a pretty dress on and call it a day? Ridiculous”. You continued to furiously mumble to yourself, already growing sick of the night's shenanigans that were being thrown at you. Though you did look forward to the ball yourself every year, you never had gotten used to the long process of getting ready that came with it. It proved to be exhausting each and every time it came around, that was true, and by the looks of it, that it wouldn’t ever grow easier.
As grumpy as you had started to get at the lack of breaks you were able to take, you couldn’t help but to be awestruck at the sight of your carefully picked ball gown that laid out in front of you on the fading chair. The deep crimson dress was vibrant against the beige color of the chair, the lace floral linings drowning out the wears and tears the old furniture wore. It truly was a beautiful dress; after all, red was your designated color throughout the kingdom- it was only fitting you represented it tonight in front of your parents' guests.
Almost as soon as the hefty material was nimbly brought over your head (dodging your hair and makeup was a process in itself, you were certain you had at least a few smudges on the outer layer of the dress) the door was met with a few loud knocks before being swung right on open.
“I take it you’ve finally finished? You only took many years, Miss Y/n”
You scoffed, “Junhui please, your voice irritates me”
The foreign man, whom was the son of a trusted family friend, proceeded to enter the room with his hands behind his back in a mocking manner, his usual smug grin plastered on his face, “On the contrary, Y/n, I think if that were to have been true you wouldn’t have made me your escort tonight”
“Don’t flatter yourself, Jun,” you slipped the heels onto your feet, peeling the skin colored tights farther up your leg so they were not bunched around the straps, “I only accepted your offer because you’re my best friend, otherwise-“ standing up front your spot on the chair, you swiped your hands over your dress to de-wrinkle it. Junhui watched with an adoring smile, cat eyes following your every move to him, “-I would have asked the butler” You placed your thumb under his chin, softly pinching it between your fingers as you gave him a wink before heading out the door.
“Come come Junnie, we have a ball to attend!”
He was the first man to be left in awe that night, certainly he would not be the last with the way you truly left others gawking at your uncanny persona, “yes I’m coming, slow your horses woman”.
——————————
You have to applaud your parents, as well as your palace’s staff, your home really did showcase it’s name in the given moment. Out of the decades of masquerade balls thrown by your family, it was ironic that they had yet to throw a moon themed event. This year, after you pleaded and pleaded for months leading up to this, you were able to convince them to go with your idea of starry night being the concept of the masquerade. And seeing the night in action with the constellations and moon related decorations capturing the entirety of your property, you knew it was bound to be the castles best ball yet.
You stood behind the grand doors, the golden frames being the only thing stopping the hundreds of guests from seeing you and your family. Junhui was placed to your left, suit cladded arm tucked gently under yours in a way to not accidentally tear the thin material of your headpiece that cascaded down your shoulders. You had done this many years prior, but the entrance was always nerve wracking to you- the eyes of the lavish people below you at the bottom of the stairs, greedily scanning your body for your fine jewelry and diamond encrusted crown. But for some other reason you had yet to find out, your gut felt extra fuzzy tonight- you were only praying the food you ate earlier would stay out.
“You scared, Princess Y/n?” Junhui tapped your hand with his free one, getting you to shift your attention from the guards by the door to him.
You hummed softly, choosing to nod your head as to not disturb your parents conversation with the staff in front of you, “always am, am I not, Mr. Wen?”
“A true statement that is, though I know you’ll be just fine. As soon as you walk down that unnecessarily large staircase, the only thing on those ridiculously snobby royals will be your beauty” A shaky sigh escaped your lips, following with you tightening your grip around Junhui’s arm while the hand that rested on top of it squeezed his jacket.
“It is with my great honor to announce the entrance of the hosts of tonight’s masquerade ball, our one and only, King and Queen of Moon Palace”
The grand doors opened in front of you with a vigorous roar, the heavy gold doors sliding amongst the smooth floor with ease as if they weighed nothing. Your parents automatically assumed their usual prestigious roles, their hands already beginning to slowly wave as everyone began to applaud. You and Junhui cautiously followed behind in painstakingly small steps so as to not foil the tempo your parents had set up for your separate entrances.
The announcer's voice began to cut through the chatter and applause, beginning the cue for you to begin following suit to your parents' trail down the slick staircase, “And finally, I would like to announce our special guest of honor. Following in her parents footsteps, the beautiful and ever so ethereal- Princess Y/n of The Palace of The Moon, escorted by Sir Wen Junhui of ShenZhen”
The glass tile clicked under your heel, a sound only you knew you could hear amongst the loud chaos below you. Though you were taught to not wander your eyes when being met with a crowd, you decided in this particular moment you were to go to hell with that rule- who would see anyhow, you had a fine golden mask to cover your eyes.
The ball floor was getting closer in view, you were now able to smell the strong scent of alcohol and rather expensive perfumes in the midst. You could now deem those as a rather unpleasant smelling combo, especially when coming from a foreign dictator who apparently could not keep his beady eyes from staring down your dress.
“You look stunning, Princess Y/n”
“You are such a lovely woman, princess”
These compliments were rather sweet of course, but to be truthful you had only drowned them out as soon as you were able to touch the floor, the only thing in mind being to drag your friend away and escape to the corner of the room and pray your parents don’t find you in the sea of people.
“My gosh, I hated every second of that monstrosity” you huffed out of breath, you swore you couldn’t breathe with all those eyes on you.
Junhui snorted, amused at your dramatic breathing and words, “Oh please, you know you live for the compliments, Princess”
“Absolutely not when they come from old creeps, goodness”
“Excuse me-“
A hard object bumped into your shoulder, causing your upper body to lean back along the direction the person was walking. Your chest tightened at the familiar voice, your mask lifting up slightly above your nose as your eyes widened In shock. You whipped your head quickly behind you, staring at the figure in the black suit, the gold linings on his jacket allowing you to easily pick him apart amongst the others around you.
“Excuse me-“ your voice was rushed as you determinedly strode towards the person you were hoping was whom you had in mind.
“Uh- yeah okay” Jun blinked, confusion clouding his tone as he watched you wander off desperately into the conversing crowd, leaving him standing by himself in the small corner. The boy sighed, closing his eyes, “Perhaps Minghao will provide me company”.
——————
Finding yourself outside in the palace’s gardens, you hurriedly looked around in hopes to see the stranger who had bumped into you. You walked closer to the fountain, not caring about the grass that was sure to have stained the bottom of your gown.
“Y/n”
A short screech left your throat, your hand quickly coming up to cover your mouth as you stumbled back towards the tree. The man in the white mask quickly reached forward, snaking his arms around you to stop you from falling into the water next to you, “I’ve got you”
“Wha- Vernon?”
He loosened his arms, allowing you to stand back in front of him. You stood in shock, watching intently as he lifted the mask from his face, revealing the same eyes you fell in love with the first time you looked into them a few moons ago.
“Hey, I’m sorry to just suddenly show up out of the blue” Vernon tucked his mask into the back pocket of his suit, bringing one of his hands to rest into his front one as the other brushed a few pieces of loose hair back.
You probably looked like a fish, standing there across a man you hadn’t seen in almost a century, mouth gawked open in utter shock. Words piled out into unidentifiable sentences, “I- uh- you’ve been gone for a long time, Vernon”
He chuckled, the laugh falling into a sad breathy tone as he peered down at the ground, “yeah I have been, haven’t I?-“ Small pebbles kicked up as Vernon rubbed the toes of his shoe into the soft dirt, “-Please excuse my absence, Y/n; it was not intentional-“
“Vernon it’s been almost a hundred years since I’ve last seen you, please do not think you have the right to tell me it wasn’t intentional” you cut him off, harshly tugging off your mask from around your head and gripping it into your hand.
The male looked up, meeting your intense stare with his own. Of course he knew he had royally fucked up (no pun intended- or maybe it was), but he truly did not mean harm for any sort of emotional pain he may have caused you. Vernon nodded his head towards the large boulders along the gardens stream, motioning for you to join him over there.
You sighed, closing your eyes for a moment to center yourself before shaking your head in disbelief at the current situation. You nevertheless began to follow behind the boy on the rocky pathway that led to the water.
Vernon was settled on one of the rocks, legs spread out in front of him as he leaned back against the tree behind him, “there was no doubt in my mind that you were going to be fine without me-“ noticing you sit down next to him, he began softly speaking, his hazy eyes trailing along the bed of water along with yours, “-you always were fit to be royalty”
“How could you possibly think I’ve been fine without you?” Your voice cracked halfway through, a look of astonishment causing your forehead to crease as you hopelessly turned your head to look at the man beside you.
“Y/n- look where you are now. You’ve grown so much-“
“I’m dead, Vernon, what the hell do you mean I’ve grown? I have remained this age, in this body, for over a hundred years. I have not “grown”, just like I have not been fine. I have survived, as ironic as that is”.
Vernon licked his lips, teeth gnawing on the bottom one as if it were a sucker. He wasn’t sure quite how to respond, choosing to simply ponder at you instead. To try and remember every single detail about you that he had missed over the last century. His gaze roamed over you from head to toe, stopping to regard certain parts of you just a tad longer- including your freckles he knew were hidden under the makeup you had been dawning at the moment, your hair that seemed to have gotten shorter since he previously saw you so many ages ago, or your hands there were still as delicate and soft as they had been when he last held them.
“You know most of the boys have stayed around here, with me. They’ve taken house in many homes-“ you started, ignoring the very obvious hold Vernon’s eyes currently had on you, “-Junhui has become quite a successful name around here, his family from ShenZhen are almost as royal as I. Minghao too has made quite the name for himself, he’s a very popular artist amongst our families.”
You smiled to yourself at the thought of where your friends and you had ended up, it was quite different in contrast to where you all had been almost 2 centuries ago. Vernon, knowing you far too well and for far too long, had already picked up on what you were thinking, “you know the night that train took us all off the bridge, I was scared I was never going to see you again. See the boys again”
“Really? As if we weren’t all lifelessly drowning next to you?”
Neither you nor Vernon could help the soft laughs that followed suit. You were ones to use humor as a coping method, even centuries later it had seemed.
“No-“ Vernon snorted, shaking his head in the process, “- I mean once we found ourselves standing back on the bridge, after we died. I remember the few seconds before that, everything was blank- I thought that was it. I was alone. I had died alone.”
“I’d never let you be alone, even in death” You reached over, letting your hand fall close to his.
Taking his cue, Vernon instantly tangled his hand into yours, allowing your fingers to intertwine just as they once did on the bridge you died on with your 12 best friends. The only contact you were able to feel as a spirit was of those from another poor soul taken too soon- lucky, or unlucky for you- your lover was one too.
This feeling was an overwhelming one. One you could remember from the days your heart still had beats and the times you could still get a papercut. You were warm, no longer cold, a sensation that brought life back to your body once again.
“You look beautiful by the way, you’ve aged incredibly gracefully”
“Vernon”

I mean, it's kinda in your name haha starrySE. And your ChanHun content is how I found and why I followed you 😊 I love their dynamic too! I mean I love them all but this friendship pairing is just extra special.
Sehun really is such a great person to look up to and it's such a shame when people treat him as just a visual because he's so much more, talent and personality wise.
Haha I’d like to think it’s obvious as well! I agree, I adore Sehun’s and PCY’s friendship dynamic so much, I’m glad they have one another to rely on :)
Yes! I couldn’t preach that enough, myself. It’s easy to see Sehun is remarkably handsome, but even then, I think his personality is in ways even better- it’s what makes Sehun so special, not many can have good lucks and a charming personality to tag along with it!♡

Hi! I find talking about my bias always makes me feel better lol. Could you tell me your favourite things about Sehun? (Sorry I don't stan any of the newer groups so not familiar!! But you can talk about them too if it helps :)) I am always in Sehun missing hours. Especially since his partner in crime Chanyeol is away.
Hi, love!
My favorite thing about Sehun has to be how he wears his heart on his sleeve. I’m constantly left in awe at how selfless, and undeniably humbled he is, especially when it comes to caring for others. I look up to him in many ways, but seeing how truly warm natured he is has to be one of Se’s most admirable qualities and I’m grateful to share the way I see him with others :)
Also thanks for choosing Sehun! I feel most people who follow me aren’t aware he’s both my ult and who this account is dedicated too, haha!
Much much love,
-Flora♡
P.s- I too am always missing Sehun- and his partner in crime </3

I’m Shore I Love You
Tumblr media
Jake x Reader
Fluff, purrreeee fluff
1,044 words
Summary: The one where you and your boyfriend decide to embark on a date at the pier, only to find yourselves melting under the summer sun
Tumblr media
Ruffled, silky fabric slipped through the cracks between your fingertips as you fiddled with the hem of your sundress. The early afternoon sun shone heavily down onto you, the thin material of your attire halting the summer heat from burning against your skin. You were smart enough to had at least wear a shorter dress that rose just above your knees, and a pair of strapped white sandals to match to keep yourself from suffocating in the blazing temps.
The bruised bench beneath you wore it’s own protection against the sun, several bodies taking place against the wooden seat to rest. Jake sat besides you, speckles of sweat evident against his hairline where his ballcap met his forehead. His sleeves were rolled up past his elbows, sunglasses shielding his brown eyes from the intense light the sky was radiating as he chewed away on the straw of what was left of his ice filled coke- opposite of your boyfriend, your empty cup was discarded to the left of you in between your sides, ready to be tossed into the nearest bin as soon as you could weasel your way through the countless sweating bodies.
Your face could be deemed as red as the shoes of the child across from you who modeled a pair of light up Spiderman sneakers, your hair only did so much to cover your sensitive skin from the rays of the August sun. You were sure you were the wicked witch of the west the way you felt as if your skin was bubbling inside out from the heat.
Prior to leaving the house this morning, you had made sure to double check the weather to assure you and Jake would be able to have a casual outing in town without dying of heat stroke- clearly Mother Nature had others plans as you had to stop three times now in the last hour to find a spot to cool off and quench the sahara deserts in your mouths. Typically the gatherings on Sundays in your city were usually kept to a minimum as most were preparing for school or work the next day, hence why you had chose today as a mini date time- unfortunately, just as you were wrong about the heat, you were wrong about the number of people who would be down at the port.
The line of shops and food stands were crowded with hundreds of people, only furthering the humidity of the beach area. It had taken you and Jake a solid 10 minutes to find a spot clear enough to pause for a second and catch a breath amidst the street's chaos. Originally you were to make your way to the coast line and stretch your toes into the soft sands, share a few kisses and maybe an ice cream or two; but judging by the way both you and Jake were currently panting like two puppies and fanning yourselves with your old corn dog trays, the agenda was sure to change.
“Do you still wanna go to the beach? I dunno how many people are down there” Jake licked his lips, softening the cracks that had formed on the plump skin from the harsh climate.
Leaning forward to better see Jakes face against the bright sun, you cocked your head to the side a few times, unsure of what you wanted to do, “We can, but I’m sure it’s going to be packed as hell since it’s cooler on the shore than it is up here”
Jake agreed, nodding in the process while folding up both yours and his empty cups into the paper trays. The brunette blew a sigh past his lips, a gust of air following up to breeze past a few loose strands of hair that had fallen underneath his cap.
“We can always come back down tomorrow, I’m sure it’ll be less crowded then because it’s a Monday?”
“If you want to, yeah” you lazily shrugged, body lagging underneath the hot sun. Your eyes scanned around the street, many people mimicking yours and Jakes tired sagged frames against the benches, faces wearing similar expressions to yours from lacking protection against the clear sky.
A sudden tug was felt against your hand, Jake standing up to stretch his back before signaling you to join him, “let’s go hot stuff, it’s too dangerous for you AND the temperature to be this smokin’”
“Jesus, really Jake?” a wide grin overtook your looks, strings of giggles adding onto the entertained expression you wore at your now cackling boyfriend, who was now also smuggly swinging your hands back and forth as he mentally patted himself on the back for his cheesy pickup line.
“I thought it would get a RISE out of you-“ Jake winked over at you, an even louder laugh sounding from his chest at the feign look of disgust you bounded at him, “get it?”
“Oh I got it, alright” you couldn’t help the bashful smile that lit up your face, even if you sub-sided it with a sarcastic roll of your eyes in the direction of the guilty party.
“I was SHORE you would, hahaha” Jake leaned over to peck your cheek, a slight salty taste matting to his lips from the contact against your skin.
“I’m gonna WAVE you off if you don’t COOL down”
Jake gasped, eyes widening in delight at your response- to which you pretended to play innocent and continued your walk back to the car, “did you just make puns back to me?”
“Mmm nope” you shook your head, hair falling back behind your shoulder blades from the motion. Your teeth gnawed at the inside of your cheek, strength being tested as you bit back a grin at the shocked look on your boyfriends face.
“You totally did!”
“I think you’re going SEA-Nile, Jakey”
An excited yelp left the mans throat, his lips quickly just barely meeting yours in a sloppy kiss before he pecked the corners of your mouth, “you are so amazing”. Your muscles were no match for the aching smile that finally slipped through at Jake’s antics. The heat seemed to disappear as you continued to stroll through the pier, cringey puns following in your footsteps as you relished in each other’s company.

Just a quick PSA.
Yes, you are allowed to have your opinions. You are able to have your own idea of what is considered talented or not. The idea of being able to have your own ideas does not mean you can outwardly express those to others when they are considered harmful to the artist.
Please stop thinking your idols don’t see the shit you post. They do. And they’re human too. Hurtful comments hurt them just as they do you and me. Learn respect, it’s the least you can do as their “fan”.
