Hey, it’s been a while 😅

A lot of people who follow me will know me for my posts about the MCU, but I would really like to branch out and post about other things that interest me (when I actually decide to post!). So I thought I would post this to tell you what other pieces of media I am interested in outside of the MCU, and what I could potentially be posting about in the future. They are:

Sambucky headcanons part 5

When Bucky’s had a bad dream and Sam’s not awake, he leaves the house. Sometimes he walks. Sometimes he drives. On very rare occasions he takes his motorcycle. He just can’t stand to stay in the house. Sam didn’t catch on at first, but when he did he was incredibly concerned because Bucky wasn’t leaving a note or a text or anything. Now that they’ve talked about it, Bucky knows to either leave a note or wake Sam up depending on the severity of the nightmare. 

On rainy days when they’re feeling particularly bored, they’ll cuddle on the sofa and write poetry together. 

Now that they’ve fixed the boat, the pair sometimes take it downstream a bit so that they can sit on the roof and watch the sunset and admire the stars with a bottle of beer each. Sometimes it’s purely romantic. Other times, one ends up pushing the other off the roof and into the chilling waters below. 

Sam and Bucky’s newest addition to their joint hobbies is bullying homophobes anonymously online.  

Bucky absolutely spoils AJ and Cass. 

But Sam has warmed up to Alpine and spoils her.

Sam has made it his personal mission to blast Marvin Gaye whenever any of his songs play. This just ends up annoying Bucky. He likes Marvin Gaye, but Sam refuses to leave the subject alone. Unfortunately, that grin Sam wears whenever he cranks up the volume suggests he never will.

(Sam also bought Bucky Troubleman for Christmas)

As per popular belief, Sam definitely has a collection of Bucky talking to Redwing about absolutely nothing of importance. He just can’t help watching them over and over again and smiling.

Gammahammer headcanons pt2

Thor talks in his sleep a lot. When Bruce has a nightmare or just can’t get to sleep, he often stays up listening to Thor’s conversations with himself. He’ll deny it, but Bruce’s heart skips a beat whenever Thor mentions his name.

Bruce lays on Thor's chest as he tells him tales of his battles on Asgard and his childish feuds with Loki.  

Bruce tends to get a little self conscious when it comes to his body. He said it disgusts him. Thor always says that he is talking utter nonsense and that he is beautiful. 

Thor has some weird fascination with Bruce’s glasses that he wears when he works. He steals them a lot and then complains about how blurry everything is.

Bruce enjoys going to Tony’s lab to work with him on projects (at least ones that aren’t murder bots) and Thor occasionally pays visits. It’s not a successful visit if Thor doesn’t break at least one piece of expensive machinery.

Thor collects Avengers memorabilia for absolutely no reason. Bruce gets frustrated with how much space it takes up, but he would never tell Thor to throw it out because he knows how happy it makes him. 

Bruce reads classic novels and murder mysteries to Thor.

Because they aren’t entirely prepared to be outed as a couple yet, Thor and Bruce tell interviewers that they have partners but claim that they are women. They use these moments in interviews to explain their issues with one another that day. For example, Bruce regularly lets America know how bad his partner is at doing the dishes, but ‘she’ is pretty so he can’t be annoyed at ‘her’ for long. They rewatch the interviews in the evening and have a laugh.

Gammahammer headcanons? Gammahammer headcanons.

There is no little spoon or big spoon. Thor takes up the whole bed and bruce sleeps on top of him.

Thor and Bruce are strangely obsessed with local marketplaces. Whenever they go abroad Bruce always points them out. Bruce buys things like pottery and small trinkets. Thor buys fruit. They both get their hair platted by local children (The kids always do Bruce’s quickly and move on to do Thor’s)

I think its a given that Nat taught Thor how to calm the hulk down when he and bruce started dating.

Bruce is homoromantic asexual and Thor is pansexual.

Thor could listen to Bruce talk about science for ages. He’s obsessed with how excited Bruce gets every time he’s asked about something.

Thor likes to make blanket forts. Bruce will often come home from work and find Thor sitting in one insisting that he joins him.

Bruce point blank refused to be left alone in the same room as Loki when Thor brought him to Asgard on holiday. Loki felt the same way.

They both have/have had depression and suffer from panic attacks a lot. Bruce prefers to be alone when he’s having a rough moment but Thor likes someone to be close. They eat chocolate and drink coffee after they’ve calmed down (usually in a blanket fort)

They babysit Clint’s younger kids sometimes when he and Laura want a night out. The house is in absolute shambles when they return (mostly due to Thor allowing Nathanial to use glitter on his drawings). Bruce often wonders why they keep getting asked to do it.

Bruce loves true crime documentaries and programmes. Thor watches them with him but almost always gets terrified that a serial killer is going to appear at their house.

Sambucky Lockdown Headcanons PT2

Bucky definitely panicked and bought half a stores worth of toilet roll.

After things returned to some form of normalcy, the Wilsons threw a party for those who wanted to come. Many did. Bucky and Sarah cooked while Sam did a barbecue and chose music for people to dance to. It was worth the long wait because that night was incredible. Sam and Bucky ended up attempting to show off how good they’d got at slow dancing together, but they’d had too much to drink and would trip each other up. Everyone laughed. Everyone had massive headaches in the morning.

I like to think that Sam and Bucky have very different tastes in books. They ended up reading loads over lockdown. Sam would stroll outside of a morning and find Bucky lying in a hammock he made reading. After yawning, he’d ask “what’re you reading, love?” in Russian (for practice) and Bucky would reply with “nothing you’d be interested in.” Almost always, Sam would pull up a chair and say “maybe you’ll surprise me.” And so Bucky would read to him.

They cut each other’s hair. One time they did a particularly awful job and Sam actually prayed to god that he wouldn’t have to go out like this until it grew back.

Not Sambucky but I have a feeling that Sarah was online combatting anti vaxxers on every social media platform she was on.

The boys were a bit annoyed about not being allowed to see their friends, so Sam preoccupied them with fun activities like making blanket forts and stargazing. Sam and Bucky would always stay outside and watch the stars for a little longer once Sarah called the boys in for bed and just lay in silence with their fingers interlocked.

Bucky took up knitting. Sam tried his hand at painting. Boom. Anniversary gifts.

Sam would go practically feral if anyone drank his orange juice because the nearby stores had a shortage of the stuff.

Once a month, Bucky cooked a fancy dinner after Sarah and the boys had gone to bed. Candles and everything. Sam always looked forward to it but didn’t tell Bucky how much. He just really loves his cooking. And him, obviously.

Ignore the fact that I’ve been gone for 6 months. Have some Sambucky Lockdown Headcanons :)

Bucky grew out a beard. Sam didn’t approve.

They stayed with Sarah and the boys. Sam, AJ and Cass would have Just Dance competitions almost every day. On rare occasions, Bucky would get roped into them as well, which resulted in a lot of teasing from the Wilsons. He may be good at slow dancing, but Bucky sucks at Just Dance.

Bucky taught Sam Russian. Sam picked it up pretty quickly and they would have conversations in Russian at dinner time for no reason other than the fact that they could. Sarah eventually banned speaking Russian at the dinner table.

(Bucky absolutely melts when Sam compliments him in Russian. It’s his new favourite thing).

At the beginning of the pandemic, AJ and Cass caught Covid from school and bought it back to the house. Bucky was the only one who never caught it, but he would take good care of Sam when he felt bad.

Not working as often meant that the pair had a lot of time to just…talk. They talked about Steve a lot and how his death had affected them both. They talked about stupid things as well, like that one time when Bucky had forgotten to wear a mask in the supermarket and people were giving him weird looks, but he just thought they recognised him as the Winter Soldier. So he had just smiled and waved and security came and informed him that he needed to wear a mask. They usually talk for hours about this stuff, curled up in bed with the blinds drawn, Bucky resting his head on Sam’s shoulder.

The kids downloaded Tiktok onto Sam and Bucky’s phones and they both became somewhat famous. Sam was obviously recognised as Captain America and he’d post videos of him doing dances with his nephews. Bucky, however, shared some old recipes he created when he cooked in the 40’s, which became very popular. Most of his followers didn’t even realise he was the Winter Soldier at first.

Sam still trained every morning in the front yard, though this time he invited his nephews to join him towards the end to play superheroes. He’d allow them to take turns with the shield as they fought of the bad guy (played by Sam). All the while, Bucky would lean against the doorframe and stare at Sam and wonder how he found this magnificent man.

I want more Sambucky fics centred around Sam and his issues because Bucky’s are talked about a lot and Sam barely has recognition for his trauma/experiences.

Give me a nightmare scene but it’s Sam who had the nightmare and it’s Sam who asks Bucky to stay and it’s Bucky who has no idea how to comfort Sam.

Give me a fic of Sam after Steve died just completely breaking down because he was the only Avenger he really knew and now he was sort of alone. And Bucky trying to understand that another person feels as upset as he does about Steve’s choices.

Hell, give me a fic where instead of Bucky realising his mannerisms around Sam are similar to how he acted around Steve, it’s Sam realising that he acts the same way he did around Riley with Bucky. Maybe even make that the point where Sam connects the dots and discovers he’s in love first instead of the other way around.

Oh nothing. Just the thought of Bucky finally being able to have enough confidence to be willingly shirtless around their house and Sam seeing the plethora of scars on his torso, Bucky catching Sam staring an instantly feeling self conscious, Sam taking Bucky’s hand to reassure him that there’s no judgement, Sam then asking if he can touch them, Bucky hesitating before agreeing but still being nervous, Sam still holding Bucky’s flesh hand to assure him that everything was okay, eventually running his fingers with feather light touch over the scars, admiring them, stopping whenever Bucky squeezed his hand, all the while whispering soft words of comfort and affection to keep his partner steady.

Imagine:

Instead of flowers being given to Sam as a romantic gesture, Bucky just sends him a steering wheel with a note attached, reading: to replace the one I ripped off xxx. And Sam is left deciding whether to break the unfortunate news to his boyfriend that that’s not how cars work and that his car was completely destroyed on the bridge or just getting tearful that Bucky tried to do something nice for him. He settles for the latter.

Soft sambucky where Sam’s been out for a ridiculously long period of time for a mission and as soon as he walks through the door to his house Bucky’s there, pulling him into a tight hug. There’d been no contact allowed on the mission and Bucky had felt incredibly alone. He rests their foreheads together and whispers “I missed you. So, so much.” and Sam knows it’s genuine. Sam plants a small kiss on Bucky’s forehead. “I’m here now, Buck. I’m fine. We’re fine.”

I just want to reiterate this because I’ve seen so many posts about Bucky: Steve left Sam too.

Yes, Bucky’s his best friend. Yes, Bucky knew Steve for longer and probably cared for him during their early years. Yes, Steve was wrong for leaving Bucky alone in a world almost completely alien to him.

But Sam trusted Steve. He didn’t hesitate to trust him and allowed him to camp out in his house when practically everyone else saw Steve as a villain. He offered his help when he didn’t have to give it. He went in half blind, helping Steve to find Bucky and trusting him without question. Then Steve gave him the shield and left. That’s a huge responsibility (that Sam is perfect capable of handling) but did Steve think about what Sam wanted or what the effect on Sam would be? Did he think at all? Probably not. Sam knew basically no one around him as well as he knew Steve, same as Bucky.

Headcannon:

Sam had a piano in his house. when things get too overwhelming, when they both have nightmares or if they both feel really low, Sam plays and Bucky sings. Usually, they perform the song ‘Je te laissriai des mots‘. Bucky learnt french from his time as the winter soldier, and something about Bucky’s singing voice when he’s sad grounds them both. Sam’s piano playing tugs at the heartstrings of the heartless as they reconnect through music in the dark.

It would definitely be during the midst of battle when one of them is hurt.

it doesn’t matter who it is, the other Will lose all sense of practicality if their partner is injured.

i can just imagine them trying to calm each other down, being severely over the top before just repeating ‘I love you‘ really quietly multiple times.

The one who’s injured doesn’t actually say anything because their wound hurts like a son of a bitch and they’re also too shocked that it finally happened.

WANDAVISION

A COOKING CONFESSION

Vision just kind of straight up confesses his feelings and says I love you at the same time.

wanda’s completely frozen in shock because he said it with such nonchalance and nobody beside her family had ever said those words to her before.

Of course, she eventually tells him she feels the same and Vision suggests they go off to Edinburgh to celebrate. That turns into 2 years away from the compound with just themselves for company. It’s beautiful.

GAMMAHAMMER

They're both too scared to say anything, bless them, so Bruce leaves a love letter and Thor leaves a love poem for the other to read (coincidentally on the same day).

They aren’t entirely astounded by the revelation of each other’s feelings because even they have to admit it was obvious.

Thor sees Bruce in the corridor the next day and gives him a little kiss on the cheek. Flabbergasted, Bruce says “what was that for?!” And Thor frowns.

“Because I love you? You did read my poem, did you not? I worked hard on it.” (Thor’s all confident when he confirms someone loves him)
