FABRICS
WOOL: Fabric name: wool. Description: thick, warm wool that feels heavy and protective. Because of it’s warmth, it is used for the garments that are worn in winter. The color differences in the sheep’s hair is still visible in the finished fabric. Fabric construction: knit. Composition: 100% wool..Raw materials: sheep wool. Finish: / Coloration: digital print (as overlay on the texture). Sourcing: Clo library settings. Texture, normal map and displacement map are made from a good picture that I have from the wool that I ordered and planned to use in a physical version. Only, it arrived too late. Impact on planet/people/animals: because it is digital, the impact is low. The only impact comes from the energy used when designing the garments and from the wool which picture I used for the texture.
SILK: Fabric name: silk organza. Description: a stiff, transparent and shiny fabric that has a luxurious feeling. Because it is transparent, the embroidery really pops. Fabric construction: weave. Composition: 100% silk. Raw materials: silk. Finish: / Coloration: digital print (as overlay on the texture). Sourcing: Clo library settings. Texture, normal map and displacement map are the Clo standard for this fabric. Impact on planet/people/animals: because it is digital, the impact is low. The only impact comes from the energy used when designing the garments.
RECYCLED POLYESTER: Fabric name: recycled polyester. Description: flowy and soft polyester that is easy to move and work in and that drapes beautifully. Fabric construction: weave. Composition: 100% recycled polyester. Raw materials: used polyester. Finish: / Coloration: digital print (as overlay on the texture). Sourcing: Clo library settings for Silk Duchess Satin. Texture, normal map and displacement map are the Clo standard for this fabric. Impact on planet/people/animals: because it is digital, the impact is low. The only impact comes from the energy used when designing the garments.
CIRCULAR: Build into the designs are ways to alter the size of the garments by creating and removing pleats and to replace broken parts by making or connecting cuts. This way, the garments will last a long time and will only be replaced when they are really worn out.
