Seeing people liking Luther now after S3 and doing a 180 and I’m just gonna say that I didn’t hate the character at S1 and actually liked him in S2 so I’m gatekeeping him now thank you and good day.

TUA Season 3 spoilers

You know, I really wanted more angst on Luther's part at seeing how well of a team the Sparrows are and how he couldn't do that with the Umbrella Academy.

Instead, his reaction to him being kidnapped was just to wait for reacue (that would have never happened) and try to have as much fun as he could while being held hostage and I find that sort of endearing but also sad. This just proves to me how bad of a choice it was to get rid of Marcus after the first episode (honestly, the Sparrows were hyped up for nothing) because had they kept him around not only would he have been a real character but also, if they would still have held Luther hostage anyway, this aspect would have gotten the depth it needed to have.

That being said...I won't lie and say I didn't enjoy seeing Luther be so carefree this season, mainly because this was the happiest he's been through the whole series and seeing him experience, if just for a brief period of time, a life where he didn't have the burden of being number one on his shoulders plus meeting someone who actually wanted to spend time with him did make me happy.

The season left me with a lot of conflicted feelings.
