Every person need to be taught disability history
Not the “oh Einstein was probably autistic” or the sanitized Helen Keller story. but this history disabled people have made and has been made for us.
Teach them about Carrie Buck, who was sterilized against her will, sued in 1927, and lost because “Three generations of imbeciles [were] enough.” (A decision which still has not been reversed)
Teach them about Judith Heumann and her associates, who in 1977, held the longest sit in a government building for the enactment of 504 protection passed three years earlier.
Teach them about all the Baby Does, newborns in 1980s who were born disabled and who doctors and parents left to die without treatment, who’s deaths lead to the passing of The Baby Doe amendment to the child abuse law in 1984.
Teach them about the deaf students at Gallaudet University, a liberal arts school for the deaf, who in 1988, protested the appointment of yet another hearing president and successfully elected I. King Jordan as their first deaf president.
Teach them about Jim Sinclair, who at the 1993 international Autism Conference stood and said “don’t mourn for us. We are alive. We are real. And we’re here waiting for you.”
Teach about the disability activists who laid down in front of buses for accessible transit in 1978, crawled up the steps of congress in 1990 for the ADA, and fight against police brutality, poverty, restricted access to medical care, and abuse today.
Teach about us.

3 Scary Games videos are classic for the presence of fiery hints and weird activity. ALWAYS suspect them unless there’s been lore/hint droughts.

I wanna ramble about people that use stuff like " respecting boundaries " and other terms as a way to cover for their bad behavior or manipulate others.
Tumblr media
I'm feeling real ranty today
I hate these people with a passion because I know these people, some are my family, some friends and I've been used by these people.
So I just wanna ramble about some of my experiences and how I just wanna knock these people in the jaw.
These people will go " respect others boundaries ".
They'll pull a "everyone needs to respect my boundaries but I do not have to respect theirs boundaries. "
The term " gaslight " being tossed around when a friend or someone for disagrees with you..
Gaslighting = manipulate (someone) by psychological means into questioning their own sanity.
NOT " my friend/family/someone disagrees with me on something and won't agree with me soo I told them that they were gaslighting me to shut them up and force them to agree. "
They'll also be the first to toss up
" I totally respect your mental illness "
Or
" I'd never invalidate your mental illness "
But then as soon as you show a trait of mental illness that they don't like then it's "you're toxic!!" and " well I read some articles and I know about your illness sooo " like instead of just asking you about your mental illness, they'll go read some cr🎀ppy random article that they found on Google..
The classic " DONT TRAUMA DUMP ON ME"
Notice how sharing any negative feelings you have mostly ones that call out their bad behavior is "trauma dumping " but more then often these people spew their trauma or negative feelings all over others yet will lose it if they're told to stop or to follow their own "don't dump on me " that they hold onto others.
Playing the victim when they trigger someone. This happens so much. If you trigger someone JUST APOLOGIZE, don't go on a rant about how you're actaully the real "victim" cause you're not.
They'll say " respect my consent snd triggers" yet openly deny or mock others consent, triggers and safe words.
The " I'm mad at you for not knowing " I have a kinda friend that changes her triggers and phobias constantly but will get beyond mad when I don't know that she changed because she never told me... A lot of the times I've notice these people change their triggers for maniputive reasons so someone will do or act how they want.
The term " abusive " has been tossed around so much like literally seen a girl tell her friend " No, I really don't like that show very much" and her friend went off about how "abusive " she was for " not supportive " and watching a show that she didn't like for her friend...
I'm just so tired of seeing the "mental health" know it alls that are fast to shame others, toss around serious words in an incorrect way or hold others up to standards that they can't hold.
I think it's the tossing around words wrongly to manipulate others or make them think they're being a bad person wheb they aren't that bothers me so much..
I feel like this stuff in itself is abusive.
I love caring about mental health, triggers, boundaries but I'm so tired of seeing people use them to harm and manipulate others..

Witch tip:
It's fine if you can't remember things.
It's fine if you need to write notes or check back into books for info.
I know there is this idea in the witch community that you need to remember everything but that's not possible.
Books and notes are there to help us.
They are there for looking back on and there should be no shame in looking back on them or needing to do check ups.
Books and notes are there for a reason!
