All right, new info from the POB balletomanes themselves.
It seems Mathieu was determined to bid his adieu with Onegin, which was unlikely to come back in 2025/2026 season when he would have been the official POB retirement age. It was also hinted there may be an unexpected Tatiana coming (whatever that means).
While I love he wants to go with Onegin (because hell yeah!), I still think it's way to early for my weak, stupid heart...
What do you mean Mathieu Ganio will bid his farewell to the stage in May 2025?!
Shouldn’t the age of retirement for POB dancers be 42 (and a half)?
He would be barely 41 in May 2025!

It’s Ludmila Pagliero leaving POB? Her last post on insta left a bit confused.
I don't think she is. At least no official adieux was stated for this, nor next season. (The only etoiles we know for sure are leaving is Myriam in Giselle in a few weeks and Laura and Mathieu next season in Onegin.)
I DO find it weird she's not on stage this season. She's around 40, so she technically is at the end of her POB career. She was dancing Manon during POB's tour in Japan )and several galas), so she is clearly not injured.
But I just don't know.
The same for Mathieu.
They are clearly OK, but not cast in anything in Paris (the fact he's not doing Giselle is seriously baffling to me).
It very well may be their own decision (pursuing other options, dancing elsewhere etc). For some reason however I have issues believing it...
And I'm not gonna deny it, I am a bit pissed, cause this is just not how you treat your étoiles.
Not everybody wants to do the huge classics (Nutcracker, Don Q, SL) their whole career, especially at certain age, which... fair. But still. It leaves a bad taste in my mouth, to say the least.
BUT I don't really know anything and nor have I heard anything from French balletomanes, so...?
The only thing I know is, that Mathias Heymann is still dealing with some major injuries, cause he was supposed to be in La Fille and Don Q, if I'm not mistaken, and had to withdraw. Which is painful, cause again, if I'm not mistaken, the last two seasons he's barely dancing at all...

Not me going full conspiracy mode after todays document on Ganio family on France TV and seeing SOMEONE’S retirement a WHOLE fucking season early is much more an unnamed AD’s decision, not necessarily the artist’s decision…
Like I am sorry, he did not strike me as someone ready to go earlier than he’s due.
Also the fucking film said “he has two more seasons in front of him”…

So it is true.
He’s leaving before he’s 42. 41 even.
And I hate it.
I was supposed to have two whole seasons at the very least.
#I died today for a bit#it hurts already#and I am not sure what I’m gonna do then#Karl was bad enough#but this one’s gonna hurt something fierce#especially with this season he’s barely dancing anything#like I don’t care for fucking Manon in fucking Japan#it was supposed to be Giselle in Paris#at least one more…#and by now I have almost zero hopes for Swan lake in june#but he’s going with Onegin#that’ a good one#that’s a good one indeed…#and now please excuse me while I leave feeling sorry for myself#and being overly dramatic and shit
