CA:TWS Anniversary Event - Rules & FAQ

About this event:

The goal of this event is to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Based on the response to our interest check, this will be an open event, meaning we will allow any content related to CA: TWS. We will provide optional (thematic) prompts on a daily basis - based on scenes from the movie, characters etc. - for you to use if you want them. There will be no minimum or maximum for content and we won’t restrict what type of work you want to provide. This can be fic, gifset, podfic, fanart, craft, playlist/song, video, poem, moodboards, rec lists etc. If you are proud of the content you’ve created, then you should post it. You can also cross-post with any other event if they allow it.  The event will take place from March 26th - April 4th 2024.

We’ve tried to answer all questions from the interest check & other questions you may have, but if after reading you still have unanswered questions, please send us an ask or email, or DM one of the mods.

RULES

Be kind. Any kind of hate (kink bashing/shaming, harassment, hate speech, toxic behavior, etc.) will not be tolerated at any point.  If you think you see there is something harmful, please bring it to a mod’s attention and we will speak to the individual or group. The goal is to be a community.

This is an 18+ only event. Sorry, but this is due to a number of reasons: the collection is going to be mostly unmoderated and we are reblogging/retweeting content that will likely include mature & explicit works.

TAG. YOUR. WORKS. We believe in Kinktomato here. YKINMKATOK (Your Kink Is Not My Kink (And That’s OK). We expect explicit works, and that will contain squicks, triggers, etc.  If you’re unsure, err on the side of caution. We believe in Kinktomato here but you are responsible for advising our readers what to expect. 

On that note, If there is a work that you don’t vibe with, skip it. Do not engage. Works including any and all ships or kinks are welcome here. We will be tagging our reblogs so if there are tags/content you do not wish to see, please filter them out.

All works must be tagged for any Major Archive Warnings (Graphic Depictions of Violence, Major Character Death, Rape/Non-Con, Underage) that the work contains. If there are none, make sure to select ‘No Archive Warnings Apply’. Works tagged as ‘Creator Chose Not To Use Archive Warnings’ and untagged works will not be shared. 

FAQ

What type of work is allowed?

To make this event as low-pressure as possible, there will be no minimums or maximums for content. We won’t restrict what type of work you want to provide. This can be fic, gifset, podfic, art, craft, playlist/song, video, poem, moodboards, rec lists etc. 

This is an event celebrating CA: TWS, so we do ask that content is focused on CA:TWS, whether canon or canon divergent. We’ll also allow post-canon works, provided they take place during the CA:TWS era (so pre-AoU, for example: Bucky recovery fics). Your work should include at least one of the characters who appears in the movie (e.g., Steve, Bucky, Rumlow, Pierce, Maria Hill etc). 

Do I have to use daily prompts?

No, the daily prompts are optional. They’re there to serve as inspiration should you need it and your works do not necessarily need to be associated with the theme/character of the day either. 

Does this event require a masterpost?

No, this event does not require a masterpost. If you do make a masterpost, please tag us and we will share it at the end of the event. 

How will works be shared?

We will regularly check our twitter/tumblr mentions and reblog/retweet creations provided they follow our rules. Content on Tumblr will be queued to the event account to spread posting.

We’ll also make daily masterlists (posted 1-2 days after given time zones/to collect all content). This should also allow content only posted to tumblr or only posted to twitter to be shared more widely.  If we miss something, please let us know!

POSTING

Please tag @catws-anniversary if you are posting on Tumblr and @catws10 on Twitter, for us to reblog/retweet it. If you post to the AO3 Collection, it will automatically be displayed there & will be included in our daily masterlist(s).

Tags for your post should include #CATWS10 and all your usual fic tags, warnings, etc. as mentioned above.

If using daily prompts, please list what day’s prompt and which prompt you are posting for.

Thank you so much for the incredible response to our interest check! We were overwhelmed with over 200 responses and we’re delighted to announce that the CA:TWS 10-year Anniversary Event will be going ahead from March 26th to April 4th 2024. 

Based on the response to our interest check, this will be an open event, meaning we will allow any content related to CA:TWS. We will provide daily (thematic) prompts to help inspire you, the use of which are optional. We will be releasing the prompt lists two weeks beforehand so that participants will be able to prepare creations for posting on the appropriate day. 

Prompts can be interpreted however you wish, though we request that they are focused on CA:TWS (whether canon or canon divergent). Creations permitted will include – but are not limited to – fanfic, gifsets, podfics, fanart, moodboard, playlists, fic rec lists, crafts, etc.

Hi! Thanks for your ask. We'll be allowing writers to claim a second piece in our second round of claims the next day (January 21st). Anything beyond that will be communicated by the mods after that date.

Hi! Im new to tumblr’s environment and to the writer’s community overall. I wanted to write a Stucky fanfiction I’ve had in mind for a while now, but I’m not quite sure on how to publicize my work or do something of the sort.

While googling ways to do it it brought me on this wonderful, organized blog, but I’ve been confused and lost on what to do, so I’m not really sure how to proceed, and I’d rather avoid doing something embarrassing on my main account.

So my question is, how does publishing work on this blog? If I wanted to publish a fic, would this platform repost it or something? I know i have to publicize it myself obviously, but does it work exactly?

This blog will only reblog content for Stucky Big Bang events, and most events will do the same. We suggest that you join events that you could participate in if you want to be reblogged by a fandom platform. Please see this post for some useful links to other events. A lot of them are quite casual.

Otherwise, tumblr has a useful tagging system. If you tag any variations of #stucky fanfic, #stevebucky fanfiction, or #steve x bucky fanfic in a blog post along with your fic or a link to your fic (if posted on AO3/wattpad/other sites), then readers will find you!
