aut cum scuto, aut in scuto - work
by: humapuma
summary: Bucky never thought he would find his Omega at just twenty-years-old. Mates usually found each other around twenty-two or twenty-three, so he was overjoyed to learn that their bond was so strong, they were drawn to one another early.
Until Bucky's family attorney informed him that his Omega - Steve - was not only a long-time activist and a successful nurse, he was actually thirty-six.
Steve never thought he would find his Alpha. It had been more than ten years since they were supposed to come together, and he had long-since given up waiting. So, when a kid slammed into him on the street and tried to claim him, Steve was more than a little surprised.
Can these two overcome their differences, presumptions, and their pasts to find one another on the other side?

oh baby be mine - work
by: mishka_osito
summary: Recently retired alpha Steve Rogers finds adjusting to his new, quiet life...pretty boring. There's books to read, movies to watch, and paintings to paint - sure. But he finds everything is dull after committing to being a slowly-aging superhero for the last 70 years. His best friend says he should settle down and finally start a family, his therapist has started to agree (the bastard), but Steve's not so sure.
He finds a sudden change of heart as NICU nurse omega Bucky moves into the apartment next door. Steve is instantly smitten when Bucky brings over some baked goods to share and realizes he’s gone when he catches Bucky breaking down after a long shift. Cue a romance that ends in snuggling (healing) babies, the courtship of the century, and a mountain of stress-baked cookies (and the absolute bleeding heart that is Steve Rogers).

lucky seven - work
by: BetteNoire
summary: Captain America trashes his motorcycle a lot. Tony says he'll fix it, then never gets around to it and just buys him a new one. Steve, the Depression-era kid, can't stand the waste and goes looking for somewhere near him in Brooklyn where he can get his bike fixed. That's how he finds Red Star Bike Repair, and the hot Russian-immigrant bike racer who runs it: all long hair and muscles and tattoos. And for the first time since he woke from the ice, Steve feels a connection to someone; a comfort in the other man's silences and his space, an attraction in his sheer skill at racing. But James Barnes isn't exactly who he seems...

so alive - work
by: GottaSaveBucky
summary: A man wearing a light denim jacket over a dark blue shirt came into the shop, a box tucked under his right arm. Despite it being late afternoon, he was wearing sunglasses with bright blue lenses, and his long, dark hair was pulled back in a messy little bun. A few strands had escaped, framing his strong, unshaven jawline. The man looked into the café, smiled widely, and waved in Clint’s direction as he kept walking into the bookstore, and Steve’s mouth went completely dry.
Beautiful, was the only word to describe that smile; straight, white teeth framed by full, lush, red lips, bracketed by laugh lines and an adorable dimple in his right cheek, a charming little chin cleft just visible under the light stubble—Steve was struck literally speechless. And that was before he got a glimpse of the man’s backside. Slim hips and a round, firm-looking ass led to long, lean legs that were encased in snug, dark blue jeans.
“Guh,” Steve said, watching the dark-haired man continue on to the back of the store.

the end of the road - work
by: liloau
summary: After going AWOL and leaving SHIELD under cover of darkness, Steve Rogers has been on the run for the last year. He lives by a strict routine and has rules in place to ensure he’s kept off of SHIELD’s radar.
In Homer, Alaska, Steve meets a shopkeeper named Bucky. Sparks fly between them from the start, and every ounce of self-preservation that Steve has learned in the past year is thrown out the window as he is taken by the desire to learn more about the Omega from the souvenir shop.
Their romance blooms quickly, but they are both keeping a piece of themselves hidden. Bucky has a daughter that he’s fiercely protective of, and Steve can’t bring himself to disclose his true identity while SHIELD is still after him.
When the past eventually comes knocking, Steve and Bucky find out that their lives are far more intertwined than they could have possibly known.

puck luck - work
by: grandmacore, The_Omni_Princess
summary: Steve was Steve. He was Captain America, son of Sarah Rogers, lover of the Brooklyn Dodgers, lover of the New York Americans, the heart of the Avengers, relatively normal-ish. Though those changed didn’t they? Dodgers play out in the West, the Americans were disbanded after the Rangers took over MSG, and as Steve got more in his head, the Avengers noticed how he wasn’t acting himself.
Bucky was Bucky. Hockey extraordinaire, captain of the New York Howling Commandos, lover of sports and his teammates, steady-headed relatively usually. Bucky just wants some peace, and to make it out of this new season in one piece, preferably with a few new records and trophies along the way. But what happens when a lucky rink mix-up brings the two together? Steve doesn’t want to admit he likes the smirk of the cute guy at the ice rink, but chaos and hockey ensue.

calico skies - work
by: musette22, britbrit99
summary: In the wake of the Battle of New York, Bucky Barnes bade his old life, or what was left of it, farewell. He bought a deserted cabin in the Catskills, exchanged orthopedic surgery for woodworking, and built a new life for himself as a carpenter. Six years on, Bucky still leads a peaceful, if solitary, existence. Maybe it gets a little lonely sometimes, but that’s why he got himself a dog. And a cat. And a goat.
In 2018, Steve Rogers finally hangs up his shield. He trades Avenging and New York City for the peace and quiet of the Catskills, grows a beard, and isolates himself in an attempt to salvage what’s left of his sanity and identity. After living his life in the public eye for so long, Steve believes that calm and solitude are exactly what he needs. Of course, he didn’t count on meeting Bucky Barnes.

in your absence - work
by: wintersoldier17
summary: Post Endgame AU -
When Steve goes back in time to return the stones, Bucky assumes he's never coming back. After all, Steve made it seem that way. Every dream Bucky had, every hope for a future together seems pointless without him, and he spends months in solitude, thinking of what could've been. The regret of not having told Steve he loved him. To make matters worse, a lot of power-hungry people with ulterior motives--who aren't aware the stones are gone--want to get their hands on them. They're after Steve, Banner, and whoever knows about the stones. Bucky is questioned for Steve's whereabouts, and that's the last thing he wants to deal with.
Especially when he's already going through the misery of broken dreams. Or... at least he thought they had broken. When Steve actually returns months later, suddenly showing up at Bucky's doorstep, Bucky can't wrap his head around it. Finding out that Steve had been in hiding all this time.
Steve expected Bucky would be upset by his absence, but he didn't fathom the severity of the damage done. His biggest challenge is to bridge the gap between them before he potentially loses Bucky forever.

tremulous and tender - work
by: humapuma
summary: He wasn’t complaining; he was used to being on his own. He’d grown up in a single parent home and his mom had worked long hours as a nurse, which left him alone much of the time. It had never really bothered him.
That evening, though… something was different. It had gotten under his skin and made his blood pump faster. All night long, his body burned in a way that he’d never experienced before, not even in a rut. It was as if there was an invisible string tied somewhere inside him, pulling him. But where?
And that scent… that perfect, sweet scent, it wrapped around him like a lover…
Like a lover.
Steve Rogers wasn’t lonely… until he’d scented that Omega, whoever they were.
AKA Steve Rogers is a social worker at a domestic violence shelter. He does everything he can to suppress his Alpha instincts so his clients can feel safe with him. Until one evening, as he's leaving work, he catches a scent that he can't escape and it opens up a world of possibilities he had long denied himself.

trust enough - work
by: geneticallydead
summary: “Saturday. Yeah, that’s good,” Steve says, and actually scuffs his shoe at the ground. Like a ridiculous shy superhero damsel. “Say eight? I live-“
“Yeah, big building with the A on it,” Bucky says, and can’t help a big stupid grin. Steve stares at him, looking a little dazed, and after their whole conversation it’s only now that Bucky’s brain catches up and realises Steve finds him quite attractive. So. Win for Bucky.
“Let me get your number,” Steve says finally, after they’ve stared stupidly at each other for about three hours, taking out his phone.
So they exchange numbers, and then Steve says he should go, and Bucky agrees, and they kind of stare at each other for a bit more, then Steve actually does go, but not before taking Bucky’s hand and squeezing it warmly in a way that makes Bucky want to shiver all over. Then Steve is gone, and Bucky is standing alone in the alley, grinning to himself.
Right up until the moment he remembers that Steve thinks Bucky is an escort he’s just hired.
Well fuck.
