Was I potentially watching "A Knights Tale" while drawing Blast Zone? Maybe...

Now for the lore!

Blast Zone joined the Swap Force right before Rattle Shake and Freezer Blade did. Giving him a bit more authority over some of the younger members of the Swap Force. Despite his discipline and cold demeanor, he is really kind. In fact, he's quite the chatterbox if given a chance. Especially about his Furnace Horse, Arthur. He'll loves to talk about his horse and horses in general. They have a special place in his heart. But the one thing he's truly known for is his fiery passion for protecting his friends. He sees the Swap Force and other skylanders as apart of his family. If one is in trouble, there isn't anything stopping this freight train from coming in and wrecking havoc. Once, he ate bombs to spite some bandits and then proceeded to spit out the flames to send them running. Saving not only the new recruits but also Eon at the time.

When Beauo become the new portal master, it didn't take long before Blast Zone easily grew attached to the young Portal Master. Often, he is seen checking every room in case there was a hidden bomb or assassin. Sometimes he may go a bit too far but he means well.

Afterall, he'd do this for anyone in his family, without even asking.

Blast Zone is one of many Furnace Knights who became a skylander. No one really knows how they come into existence but one thing is for certain, seeing one or many means something bad is about to happen. Whether it be a bomb that's about to go off or a war that's about to start, Furance Knights have a complicated history in skylands.

Furnace Knights used to be considered omens of pestilence, war, famine, and death. Often, many see them as evil and sinister. But in reality, they come when something bad is about to happen and try to prevent it... or if something bad has ALREADY happened, they come as damage control.

Back before the age of healing magic, disease and famine ran rampant in a lot of islands in skylands. Due to the lack of medical knowledge and poor hygiene, it was easy for a disease to hop from island to island. That is where the Furnace Knights come in. To prevent other islands from getting infected, they would cleanse the island of all life and transport the remaining healthy population to another island. If the disease was so virulent, they would have no choice but to do what had to be done to prevent others from getting sick. It was a hard job to do but it was necessary at the time.

But that's only scratching the surface of their past. When war was waged, the Furnace Knights were often approached to either fight against the enemy or to create weapons of mass destruction. Regardless of who asked, they would obliged with the right price. They're speciality were fire weapons and bombs. You could always tell if someone has got their hands on a Furnace Knight weapon when there's only a crater left on the battlefield.

But it wasn't all dark, they were also known to protect and fight for those who couldn't do so themselves. Often, they were even be seen giving their own life to protect someone thst is not of their kind. Despite all their dark deeds, they have always valued other lives above their own. Giving the term "Knight's Honor" meaning.

Several centuries later, their purpose would change. No longer would they be made to cleanse or to wage war. In the industrial era, they were able to use their forging skills to craft tools and supply business with fuel. Because of their influence, the first ever coal powered train was invented. Making it easier for transportation. Although, some knights didn't like the change and stuck with their original purpose of forging weapons. But they soon faded through time.

A Furnace Knight is composed of 2 things, fire and metal. But no ordinary metal, this metal is insulated. It keeps the fire within the armor to prevent it from going out. The fire is what makes the Knight, it is their life blood and one must tend to the fire or it will go out. Furnace Knights don't eat regular food or drink, they instead burn coal and wood to keep themselves going. But they can't eat too much for they might go into over burn. A state where the fire with seep through their armor and make it difficult for the knight to move. Which it why they stay away from anything flammable as much as possible. What's worse is thst they may even risk exploding if they're not careful.

As for any living creature, a Furnace Knight is not exempted from the laws of time. They are still subjects to the forces of nature and can rust or even get put out. Regardless of how old or young a Knight is, when their time has come, their flame will dissipated. Leaving only the armor behind, other Furnace Knights will gather the pieces and create a memorial in honor of the individual. Those who died from sacrifice will gain the highest honor of them all, to be buried in the Hall of Heroes. Where only the most heroic are buried. Some legends even say that this burial sight is the closest to the heavens. Giving the honored knight a place in the heavens above.

TREE REX

I've been working all night for this guy. He's so cool and he's GIANT!

(Now for the lore bit I promised!)

Many question how giants came to be. Some believe it's due to an overload of magic in one area... some also believe it's genetics... but one thing is for sure... giants never stop growing. Their sheer size and weight could easily topple any city with ease. But these are rare occasions, for giants are mostly peaceful. Very rarely does one have malicious intend and if one does, the damage is catastrophic.

But most giants perfer to be peaceful, gentle giants if you will. These massive beings are known for letting smaller, much weaker beings to live on or off them. Their sheer size allows for structure to be made and foundations to be set. Creating their own ecosystem and civilization.

Now, there's no real way a giant comes to be, it's happenstance. Anyone or anything could become a giant. The biggest tree to the smallest bee, the chances of becoming a giant is rare but not too uncommon. And once a giant is made/born, their presence is enough to settle any kind of dispute.

Now what happens when a giant dies? Does it continue to grow?

Well, when a giant dies, their body curls up and forms into a new, floating island. Bones become stone and the rest turns to dirt. But that's only if they were made of flesh and bone to begin with.

Those that aren't flesh and bone will have a different end. Their bodies with become pure energy and disburse peacefully throughout skylands. Returning the energy they've taken, back into the world in the giant circle of life.

Now, one of the oldest giants to date in none other the the King of Trees, Three Rex. His power and stature is told throughout skylands as one of the biggest giants to ever live. And to think he was just a humble tree at the beginning of his life. He even is older than Master Eon himself! Not by much but the giant still revels in the fact that his age is what gives him more wisdom than Eon could ever have. In a playful manner of course.

Tree Rex has served under Eon's command for centuries. When he finally retired, he went back to the forest island he originated from and lives a peaceful life of restoring the forest from the damages that poachers and loggers have inflicted.

His footsteps till the grounds as he walks and plants and animals are able to trive. Some locals even live in the mushrooms that grow in his body. In return for the protection, the people help with any potential attackers or maintenance thst needs to be done. A perfect symbiotic relationship.
