When are you going to update the comic at tapas? :) I'd love to be able to download the comic to read while on the road
It helps to know that people would actually care about it being uploaded there.
I have to resize every image individually in order to fit the Tapas format, which is a headache to put it mildly, so I've kinda put it off for a while......

Scene info below! VVV
Scene 4:
Steven spends a lot of time on his own, while his dad is at work and the gems are off on missions. While he can and does go out some days to Beach City, there are still many days where he is left bored and alone.
I wanted to show the time passing and disarray that his room and the rest of his house becomes without Pearl around as much to pick up after him.
While there is a lot of potential for development and character growth in Pearl and the rest of the gems in this story, my priority has always been to focus my time and energy on Steven. I had to put the other characters to the side and streamline the narrative if I ever wanted to get through this.
There's more to come, stay tuned.

(Sorry for the delay, I was visiting family! Thank you for your patience <3)
Scene 3:
One thing I wanted to show in Inverted was the different experience Steven would have with the Crystal Gems. I wanted Inverted to be a character study above all.
One difference would be that Steven wouldn't be around the Gems as often, save for Amethyst. So he wouldn't be taken on missions.
He'd teach himself to use the warp pad and try to follow the Gems when they'd leave, and that's when he'd run into Lion!
I love Lion.
Bonus: really old Inverted art I drew back in April 2020

Scene 2:
One thing I regret not getting to was introducing Connie! But I never planned for her to have much of a role in Inverted. (Though don't get me wrong, i love her) I thought it'd be fun to show you guys their first meeting.
I think he makes a different impression on her this time if only because they don't get stuck at the bottom of the ocean together in a tiny bubble.
I leave the finer details of their friendship up to you guys to interpret.
Scene 3 will be coming soon

Chapter 4 - Scene 1 << Prev | First | Next >> Do not repost! Please reblog instead. Scene info and more below! VVV
HI! So this is going to be a bit of a montage/speedrun of the rest of the story, or at least what scenes I wanted to include the most. There's a lot in between I'm gonna be skipping for the sake of time and my wrist. It will all culminate in a grand finale that I'm excited to share with you all.
Each scene will have a brief explanation and maybe some bonus info about the story and AU, but for the most part it's up to reader interpretation. I'll be answering asks about it if they come.
The comic really stalled on this chapter, and specifically this scene. The big hiatus hit right before a reveal I wanted to do and it frustrated me to no end that I wasn't able to keep going.
Scene 1: How chapter 4 was going to continue was that Steven would jump into the fray and attack Centipeedle, drawing her attention. When Centi tries to attack back, Steven's gem powers would activate and draw out a shield! But not Rose Quartz's, it would be very different.
This would lead into Pearl managing to poof and bubble Centi and Greg appearing, finally having caught up to Steven. The adults would go off to talk about what's going on with Steven while he tries to figure out how he managed to activate his gem powers.
And that's where chapter 4 would end!
The next scenes won't be framed by any particular chapter, but they will be in chronological order. Stay tuned for scene 2, coming soon.

Thank you!!
WD AU was the comic and AU that inspired me to start SU Inverted. It continues to inspire me even now!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And here we have @su-inverted-au !
This story takes the very first episode of Steven Universe and turns it on its head to create a very different alternative! Instead of simply summoning his shield, Steven has a mysterious experience and ends up a little... changed... for it. :) I absolutely adore the style this comic is drawn in!
Read @su-inverted-au from the beginning HERE!
Thank you SU Inverted AU for your inspiration and your absolutely adorable fluffy haired son! May nothing bad ever happen to him.

Woah! I've come back to my inbox full of advice for my pain. This truly has turned into a health advice blog lmao It's easier to reply to everyone at once so I'll first say THANK YOU, so much. I'll be looking into the suggestions and recommendations you've all kindly provided me. You're all so sweet ;-; <3
Since I don't exactly have a permanent address at the moment and I've just left the only state I had health insurance in, it's a liiiiittle tricky getting any affordable care in my area. But no worries! I have a plan and I've been through more uncertain times before.
This shouldn't delay my goal of starting up the AU stuff (at least on my end) next month. Come hell or high water (or achy wrists)!
The only reason I'm not starting this month is because I've been indulging a bit in Art Fight (here uwu) easing back into regular drawing. It's going great!

This is definitely a health advice blog now—
JK, JK. But anyways, I can recommend the smaller Salonpas pain relieving patches for the pain. They’re really helpful when normal painkillers won’t work (like in my case where I have slightly bowed legs, so the bones grind a bit), and the little ones don’t have that slimy texture.
👀 yooooo i didn't even consider patches! thank you kind anon!
I'll definitely look into those. Nevermind the half dozen doctors I've gone to, I should have asked tumblr for chronic pain advice

Genuine question from a personal curiosity standpoint but have you tried k tape? I've heard it can be helpful if you know the right way to position it on your wrist and I'm also dealing with RSI stuff so I figured I'd ask. Ofc I'm not looking to turn your inbox into an advice column so like, ya don't have to answer this if you don't want to ghdifb
I was recommended it by someone a while ago but since I don't know how to apply it myself (and I've gotten some skeptical replies regarding its viability from a few doctors I've asked) I haven't tried it out.
In a similar vein though, I have tried compression gloves with mixed results. The pressure can feel comforting but on the other hand (lol) it can also draw your attention to the pain. I've found that a mix of bracing, resting, and light stretching/exercises has been helping.
It's ok i love getting messages-- wdym, this isn't a health advice ask blog now? /lh /j

:O!! Oh gosh, I'm so sorry to hear you're dealing with RSI and neck/back pain, hhh- that's such a shitty combo to deal with at once. As someone with the same combination of pains, the big thing that's helped me out is actually like,, voltaren gel? It's generally used for arthritis but it's helped me tone down the wrist pain a lot- and I've used it on my shoulders to good effect, too. I hope you can find a good island of relief soon in your continued exercises and self care.
oh I have gotten voltaren actually! :O I wasn't using it much bc I have sensitivity and sensory issues (it's cold and slimy lol) and I don't think the pain relief it provided outweighed the problems I had with it. BUUUT I may go back to trying it again just to see. So many people swear by it.
(On that note, actually, I've spent an absurd amount of money on pain relief and PT products, I have tried almost a dozen different wrist/hand braces, and "ergonomic" has become a common word in my vocabulary lmao)
Thank you for your advice, friend! It is much appreciated. Maybe I can get my partner to use voltaren on my achy shoulders >w>
