ok but imagine the losers post ch2 (where eddie and stan don't die...), they're still trying to adjust to their lives again while dealing with the aftermath of everything, trying to adjust to the fact that IT is finally gone and that the losers club is reconnected for good this time.
all of their memories are falling back into place, and while most of them have already remembered the big things, it takes some time for the more miniscule details to come back to them. and it's when richie is at home, and he flips the calendar in his kitchen from october to november, that he remembers one of those miniscule details.
he's looking at the blank month of november, and though he doesn't have any events written down in the days, he can't help but feel like.... there is something important, a specific thing that he should have marked down, but he can't quite put his finger on it.
maybe he had a meeting that he forgot to write down? no, that didn't seem right. maybe dinner with some people in the industry, or a party he had been invited to by somebody at work? no, he didn't think it was that, either. he thought, he thought, and he thought a little harder....
and then it came back to him, and he let out an involuntary little gasp. november 2nd, he thought. that's eddie's birthday.
after the realization dawns on him, a brief wave of panic is sent through him. november 2nd, that's already tomorrow! and richie doesn't have a gift, or has made plans or anything! he faintly remembered that back when they were kids, eddie had never made a big deal out of his birthday, but that didn't mean that richie was about to let this year go by without a proper celebration. eddie's first birthday back with everyone... back with richie. it had to be special, it just had to be.
he pushed out every single other thought, only one thing occupying his mind now. he went straight for his phone and dialled a number, and his call was answered after only the second ring. "hey, bill," richie said after big bill's greeting. "listen, are you free tomorrow? i've got an idea..."

When The Day Is Dead
“Hey, Eds.” Richie greets with a grin, leaning on the lockers that are placed next to Eddie’s.
“”Hey,” Eddie says distractedly as he shoves books into his locker, swapping them out for others.
“Got any plans for tonight?” Richie asks, smile still upon his lips.
“Umm, I don’t think so.” Eddie hums in thought, closing his locker. “Why? Do you want to hang out tonight or something?” Eddie smiles as equally as wide as Richie.
“Yeah,” Richie nods. “Look, I know your mom doesn’t ‘believe’ in Halloween or whatever, but I wanted to invite you to the pumpkin patch. My parents and I are going and I really want you to come.”
Eddie’s insides nearly burst into flames. Going to a pumpkin patch with a boy he’s been in love with since he can remember? He’d be an idiot to pass this up.
“I’d love to,” Eddie nods, lips hurting from smiling so much. “But what will I tell my mom?” Eddie’s smile fades at the thought of her.
“Just tell her that you’re hanging out with all of us. Big movie night or somethin’.”
“Okay,” Eddie’s smile returns. Eddie whips out his phone and types a quick message to his mother, Sonia responding shortly after. She doesn’t seem to suspect a thing and that fills Eddie glee.
The bell rings, signaling that the last class is starting. The two decide to meet at Richie’s car after school. The last class felt like a drag to both of them. Both boys are eager to meet and head to the pumpkin patch.
When class ends, Eddie nearly books it to Richie’s car after, not wanting to waste any time. He makes it before Richie, testing to see if the car is unlocked - it is. He gives a soft, evil giggle and gets in the passenger side of the car. He props his feet on the dash and leans back into the seat with a pleased sigh. Only a few moments later, Richie arrives.
“Ready to go, Eds?” Richie asks as he starts the car.
“Aren’t your parents coming too?” Eddie asks, setting his feet on the floor, putting his seatbelt on.
“Well…” Richie sighs. “I kind of lied. They’re not coming, it’s just us.” Richie explains, keeping his eyes on the steering wheel while Eddie stays silent. Little does Richie know, Eddie’s heart is practically pounding out of his chest. “I hope that’s okay.” Richie says softly.
“Of course it’s okay,” Eddie can’t help but blush, knowing his cheeks are burning bright red. “I don’t mind. I think it’ll be fun.” he smiles widely, his eyes glowing.
“Okay,” Richie can’t help but giggle, butterflies swarming in his stomach.
The drive there wasn’t too terribly long, or maybe it was and the two were busy talking to even notice the distance. As they arrive, Eddie is taken away by all the pumpkins surrounding them.
“Woah,” he gasps, spinning in a slow circle to take everything in. “I haven’t seen so many pumpkins in my life!”
Richie laughs at Eddie’s reaction, wanting so badly to kiss him at this moment. It takes everything in him to refrain. Instead, he breathes out in a dreamy manner, looking at Eddie adoringly.
“What do you want to do first? Pumpkins? Corn maze? Hay ride?” Richie lists off. Eddie’s eyes go wide at all the options.
“Can we do the corn maze?” Eddie bounces on his heels.
“Haunted or regular?” Richie asks. Eddie nearly death glares at him as he already knows the answer.  “Regular it is!” Richie chuckles and starts to lead the way. God, does he wish he could hold Eddie’s hand right now. The temptation of it is nearly unbearable. The two enter the maze, finding their way pretty easily until Richie gets them all twisted about.
“Wait,” Richie says as he turns around slowly. “I think we go this way.” he points to the left. Eddie sighs.
“Richie, dumbass, we just came from that way.”
“No, we came from this way.” Richie motions confidently towards the right. Eddie rubs his temples as he takes another deep exhale.
“Just let me lead the way,” Eddie says as he walks ahead of Richie.
“You’re going to make us more lost!” Richie shouts as he catches up to Eddie.
“You were the one that got us lost!” Eddie turns around to face Richie, looking up at him. “We were doing fine and now-“ Eddie cuts himself off, shaking his head. “Fine. You lead the way.”
“Gladly,” Richie puffs out his chest, cheesy grin playing on his lips. “Follow me, Eds! I’ll get us out of here, easy peasy.”
“Okay,” Eddie gives a soft giggle as he now follows Richie knowing he’ll turn them in circles over and over. Eddie lets it happen until he can’t take it anymore.
“Okay, you’ve led us in the wrong direction every time, listen to what I say!” Eddie huffs, crossing his arms, Richie finding him completely adorable.
The two continue on, bickering and playfully bantering. Eventually, they exit the maze an hour later.
“We made it!” Richie cheers, fist pumping the air.
“Fucking finally,” Eddie groans, throwing his head back. “Can we pick pumpkins now?” he looks at Richie, a wide smile now painted on his lips.
“Yes,” Richie nods. Him and Eddie walk slowly towards that field of pumpkins, them laughing during conversation.
“Which one do I pick?” Eddie asks as his eyes scan all the pumpkins before him.
“Whichever you want. Short and fat, tall and skinny. Tall and fat or short and skinny. It’s all up to you, Eds.” Eddie looks around some more before spotting the perfect one.
“Oh! I want this one!”
“This one’s mine!”
They both speak simultaneously, grabbing for the same pumpkin, hands brushing against each other.
“Oh,” Eddie burns bright red. “You can have it.” he says sheepishly as he pulls his hand away.
“No,” Richie smiles, picking up the pumpkin and handing it to Eddie. “She’s all yours.”
“Really?” Eddie asks, grabbing the pumpkin, cheeks still flushed.
“Yeah, of course!” Richie says in a cheery tone. “You've never been before and I want you to have the best pumpkin.”
Eddie hugs the pumpkin close, following Richie around until he spots one that he likes. They go to the booth and pay, the two fighting over who pays and who doesn’t. Richie, before Eddie can get any money out, pays for both of the pumpkins.
“I hate you,” Eddie tries to say seriously, but fails.
“Oh, you love me, Eds.” Richie laughs, only half-joking. He hopes deep down Eddie loves him in the way he loves Eddie.
“I do,” Eddie mutters softly. It’s not a lie. He’s in love with Richie.
The night begins to fall and the two decide to walk back to the car and head home to Richie’s house. Eddie loves Richie’s house. His parents are so sweet and loving and caring. He could spend eternity there and never get tired. It’s his happy place; his safe haven.
“We’re homeeee!” Richie marches inside, holding his pumpkin in the air. Eddie follows after him.
“Hi, boys!” Maggie greets as she walks out from the kitchen. “How was it?”
“It was amazing,” Eddie chirps. “I had so much fun. We even did the corn maze!" he sets his pumpkin on the ground.
“And how was that?” she asks again, a warm smile on her lips.
“We…” Eddie tries to find the right words. “We eventually made it.” he gives a soft laugh.
“Well I’m glad you two had a good time. I set out all your pumpkin carving supplies outside if you want to carve them.”
Richie and Eddie make their way to the back door, turning on the porch light as he does so. They set their pumpkins on the back table, stab them with knives and take out the guts. Richie grabs some of the seeds and goo, raises it above his hand up, acting as if he’s going to throw it at Eddie.
“Don’t you fucking dare!” Eddie screeches.
“Oh, or what?” Richie asks playfully.
“I’ll knock your teeth to the back of your throat, bitch.” Eddie threatens. Richie can’t help but laugh.
“I’ll knock your teeth to the back of your throat, bitch.” Richie mocks.
“Get out of here,” Eddie nudges Richie with his shoulder. The two goof around, deciding to carve out silly faces. Wentworth comes out with two small candles and Maggie with two steaming mugs.
“Cider for you, and cider for you.” she says as she hands them the mugs.
“Let’s light these!” Richie says enthusiastically placing a candle in his pumpkin and burning it, Eddie copying his actions.
Maggie and Wentworth stay outside for a minute to enjoy the glow of the pumpkins and the company of the boys. It was only a few moments later that the parents go back inside. Richie and Eddie stand there in comfortable silence for some time until Richie breaks it.
“Eds?” Richie asks seriously.
“Hmm?” Eddie hums in question.
“I have to tell you something…” Richie pauses. “Something important.”
“You can tell me anything.” Eddie says sincerely, turning his head to look at Richie, only the glow of the candles in the pumpkins lighting up Richie’s face. Another long pause.
“I… I like you.” Richie finally says. “A lot and I have for a really long time.”
“You do?” Eddie asks, complete shock washing over him. Richie bites his lip and nods.
“Well…” Eddie says bashfully. “I like you too.” he bats his eyes.
There’s nothing more that can be said before they start kissing. Lips crashing against each other in a passionate kiss yet somewhat tender. The kiss lingers for quite some time, the two unable to get enough of each other.
“You have no idea how long I’ve wanted to do that,” Richie says breathlessly.
“Me too,” Eddie admits. “Now do it again.”

ITS EDDIE DAY!!!!!!!!!
eddie k day of birth the most important day!!!!
i think that growing up eddie never really saw his birthday as a big thing, mostly because sonia would never let him have a big party with his friends or allow him to have a nice bday cake (it always had to be a "healthy", allergy-free one that eddie always hated the taste of) or anything like that, so for him birthdays were always low-key, nothing special, just another day of the year.
but, i think that the losers would be the ones to change that. they take birthdays very seriously, and even though eddie wouldn't be allowed to have a birthday party at his house, they always made sure to somehow throw him a party, unbeknownst to sonia. richie would casually invite him over to his place a few days before his birthday, only to surprise eddie with a party in his basement with all the losers. when eddie's birthday was on a school day, the losers would bring him a small cake to school and they would celebrate at lunch time, and eddie could eat all the cake he wanted without his mother telling him not to. even though he always told his friends that he didnt need any presents, every year they would pool their allowances together to get that one thing that they all knew eddie really wanted, but would never ask for.
so while eddie himself never made a big deal of his birthday.... his friends certainly did, but he wasn't about to stop them, either :))

an au where, after you die, if you would like to come back as a ghost, you can choose what kind of ghost you want to be. there are lots of different ghost careers to choose from, but the two most popular ones are protector ghosts, and of course, haunting ghosts. protector ghosts act like a sort of guardian angel, helping out folks whose lives aren’t too good and helping them get back on track from behind the veil. and then there are the haunting ghosts, which are pretty self explanatory: their only job is to scare people shitless.
there’s been a millenia-old rivalry between haunting ghosts and protector ghosts, it’s never pleasant whenever they cross paths down in the underworld or while on duty on earth. but, generally, they keep out of each others hair and try to limit their bickering.
that is, until there’s some sort of mix up in the system, and one human gets assigned both a haunting ghost and protector ghost.
eddie kaspbrak has been dead for quite a while, and he’s spent most of that time with people who remind him too much of himself, trying to help them before they die the same as he did: living a life he hated. he’s got an impressive success rate as a protector: 100% of his assignments go on to live happily ever after, until they join him down in the underworld.
richie tozier is a haunting ghost. he loves the job, more than he liked the job he had when he was alive, and he’s really, really, good at it. he can have a family running screaming out of their new house in less than a week after he’s done with them. there’s about five different popular ghost stories told around the country that were all started with little ol’ him. death and the afterlife is a long, long, ride, so richie thought he might as well make it fun.
protector ghosts get assigned to people, while haunting ghosts usually get assigned to places, though being assigned to haunt a specific person isn’t out of the ordinary (you know, show up at the foot of their bed, follow them to work, peek out at them from down the street, the whole shabang). and through some kind of mixup, eddie gets assigned to a man struggling his way through life, and richie gets assigned to the man’s house.
so. an enemies to lovers au where richie and eddie start off fighting against each other, as eddie tries to put a stop to richie’s hauntings and richie tries to break through eddie’s strong bubble of protection to get at least one good scare in, but honestly, they spend more time bickering with each other than focusing on the person they’re supposed to be protecting/haunting. but the longer they spend together, the more they realize, hey, this guy isn’t too bad, and they come to… an agreement. eddie lets richie get 2 scares a day, but they can’t be traumatizing. a glass knocked off the table or a shadowy figure down the hall or making the floorboards creak at night, but that’s it- just enough for richie to hit his scare quota and not get fired. and richie promises to put a hold on the hauntings whenever eddie is working to get this guy’s life flipped around.
it’s only when the man has finally had enough of his suddenly-haunted house, moves out and subsequently quits the job that was taking all the joy of his life and finally starts to be happy, that richie and eddie realize, hey, maybe we are a good team after all. and it’s definitely just because they got the job done and it was a success…. definitely not because eddie’s starting to have feelings for richie, feelings he never felt when he was alive, and definitely not because spending his days hanging out with eddie is more fun than any day of haunting that richie’s had.
definitely not.

HAPPY OCTOBER 1ST !!!!!
hc that the toziers are the family on the block that always go ALL OUT for halloween. like every year on october 1st the halloween decorations go up, their lawn is covered in fake tombstones and there’s a skeleton hanging from the porch and there’s fake bats and ravens on the roof and they’ve put those fake hands all over the grass to make it look like there are zombies coming out from the ground.
and that’s just before halloween. on halloween night it’s basically a competition with the neighborhood kids to see who can get to the tozier house first, because they always give out the full-sized candy bars. but it’s not just that, mr tozier also converts their garage into a little haunted house, with scary statues and spooky decorations and it ends with mr and mrs tozier, both dressed in costume, obviously, jumping out at the kids and scaring them before giving them their candy (maggie and went also always have matching costumes: gomez and morticia, frankenstein and frankenstein’s bride, because they are iconic so of course their costumes will match).
they also always hold a little halloween party for the losers when they’re kids, complete with halloween-themed snacks (candies that look like spiders, cookies that look like eyeballs, marshmallows that look like ghosts, fruit punch that mrs tozier says is ‘blood’, etc etc) and a whole bunch of horror movies that mr tozier rented for them. the kids stay up all night eating the sugar and definitely giving themselves nightmares from the movies, but that’s what halloween is all about, right?

WAIT OK I KNOW I JUST MADE MY REDDIE HAUNTED HOUSE AU YESTERDAY BUT……. WHAT IF I MADE IT SPOOKIER
neibolt richie is the kind of ghost who doesn’t like to do harm on people (unless it’s some asshole coming into his house and disrespecting the place, then he has no problem giving people a lesson) and he finds “harmless haunting” very very fun. he also, one day, finds that he can leave neibolt house, the place he died and thought he would be stuck in forever.
he goes back to explore derry, the town he grew up in and always hated, until he stumbles across a little halloween carnival that the town is putting on. now, as a ghost, richie looks quite gruesome (something that is well-respected in the ghost community, something that richie is quite proud of) and he realizes ohhhhh this could be good. he’s been getting bored of life (or should he say, death) at neibolt, so he heads over to the carnival, walking around, taking in all the compliments from people walking past him, telling him how good his costume is, how realistic his makeup is, asking to take a closer look, asking him how he got all those scratches and the stitches in his face to look so real.
richie’s having a great time, and just after he gives two little kids a good laugh by pretending to be scary, he comes up to a haunted house, and decides to take his scaring to the next level.
in the haunted house, he really starts scaring people. like, crawling up to the ceiling, having his eyeballs pop out of his head, jumping out at people from behind corners, making his face look extra horrifying. he gets some good screams, but he always makes sure to hide when another staff member of the haunted house comes close, trying to figure out why all these people are screaming like that in a part of the attraction where none of their actors have been placed.
meanwhile, on the other side of the haunted house, eddie kaspbrak, who got roped into working the haunted house with his friend and is currently dressed up as a vampire with fake blood covering his face, can’t stop wondering where all those screams are coming from. seriously, this was a haunted house on a budget- even their scariest attraction couldn’t make someone scream like that. so he decides, during a lull of customers, to sneak off from his post, and go investigate himself.

i told myself no sunny it is too early to be posting halloween hcs, you need to wait a little bit longer and i said ok and listened to myself…….. for about 3 seconds and now i don’t care anymore and i am going to post a halloween hc <3
eddie going to a halloween fair with his friends, and he enjoys most of the night- he likes seeing people in costumes, he likes all the halloween-themed games and food (rice krispies made to look like brains, “blood” punch with candy eyeballs floating in it, cookies made to look like fingers), he’s just having a spooky blast with his friends.
…….. until they drag him along to one of the haunted houses. eddie does NOT want to go in, and the entire time they’re in the line he is trying to come up with an excuse to get out of it, but beverly and mike have been waiting all year for this haunted house and they are NOT letting eddie miss out on it for the fifth year in a row. and frankly, eddie doesn’t care about that, his attitude only switches up when he hears the guy standing behind him in line laugh and say something to his friend about eddie being a wimp, and all of a sudden eddie’s fear of the haunted house is taken over by the need to prove to this asshole that he’s not a pussy, so when it’s his turn he bravely marches into the house.
the scares weren’t as bad as eddie was expecting, a few caught him by surprise, but he wasn’t horribly terrified until the moment he looked behind him and realized that he had somehow gotten separated from beverly and mike. he starts to panic- which way did he come in from? was he walking in circles? oh god, how was he going to get out of here? was he going to have to completely embarrass himself and get a staff member of the haunted house to walk him out? no, eddie would have rather stayed in the house for the rest of the night instead of doing that.
so, he continues to walk through the house, and yup, he’s definitely walking in circles, he’s passed by that statue of the vampire sucking the blood out of someone’s neck about three times. he’s thinking he’s going to have to finally admit defeat, when he steps into the next room, and one of the haunted house actors jumps out to scare him. edde doesn’t flinch, because he’s already been scared by this guy. quite a few times, actually, because eddie has walked into this room a few times already. the actor- a guy with his face painted grey like a corpse, with stitches drawn on his cheeks and his mouth, with big gashes on his cheeks and his throat and fake blood splattered on his skin- is halfway through his scare… when he stops, breaks character, and looks at eddie.
“uh, hey, haven’t i already seen you before?” he asks, in a very nonzombie-like manner.
eddie feels his cheeks heat up with embarrassment. “yeah.”
the zombie raises an eyebrow, tilting his head in confusion. “so… are you just really enjoying the haunted house or something? i mean, you gotta be if you’re coming back to get scared by me for the fifth time.”
“i’m lost,” eddie admits. “i got separated from my group, i think i took a wrong turn or something. i’ve been walking in circles for ages.”
the zombie laughs. “lost? dude, there are signs on the floor.”
eddie feels a rush within himself, the most excitement he’s felt for the entire time he’s been in the haunted house. “what?”
the zombie is grinning, which is almost an eerie sight when matched with his horrifyingly gory makeup. “follow me.” he leads eddie through the dark room. “need me to hold your hand?” he teases, and eddie mutters a ‘shut up’ in return, glad for the darkness so the zombie couldn’t see his blush. he leads eddie to a door on the opposite side of the room, which opens up to the next part of the haunted house. “there,” he says, gesturing down to the floor in front of him. much to eddie’s embarrassment, there is a very, very faint arrow pointing in the direction he’s supposed to be going in. “these’ll take you all the way through the house. follow them, and you’ll be golden.”
eddie is mostly embarrassed, but also very much relieved that he’s finally found the way out. he looks back to the zombie, who seems to be finding eddie’s situation amusing, based on the smirk he’s wearing. “thanks,” he says.
“no problem,” the zombie replies. through the silence of the room, eddie starts to hear the growing sound of footsteps and nervous voices. the zombie hears it too, and looks back across the room to where he’s supposed to be standing. “looks like i’ve gotta go,” he says in a hushed voice to eddie. “time go to scare my next group of victims. good luck finding your way out, but if you get lost again, you know where to find me.”
eddie doesn’t even have time to reply before richie is sending him off with a grin and a wink, guiding eddie out of the room and closing the door behind him. in a few seconds, eddie hears the guy’s loud zombie-yell, followed by the screams of the people he’s scaring. eddie beings to follow the arrows out of the house, and despite all of the other creepy monsters that try to scare him on his journey, he can’t seem to get the image of one particular cute zombie out of his mind.
eddie makes it out eventually, and when he steps out into the fresh air once again he feels relief wash over him, and even more so when he sees beverly and mike standing outside the house. they tease him for getting lost, but it’s short-lived, and they quickly go back to having fun at the rest of the fair.
when it starts to get late, eddie, beverly, and mike decide to call it a night, and they’re about to head out…. when eddie hears a familiar voice from behind him. he turns around at the call of “hey!” and is surprised to see none other than the zombie from the haunted house running towards him. eddie is lost for words, and he can’t seem to remember how to put a sentence together when the guy stands in front of him, and with a smile says, “glad to see you made it out alive.”
eddie feels that familiar heat return to his face. “y-yeah, i did. thanks again, by the way. i probably would have been wandering around in there until it closed if it hadn’t been for you.”
“happy to help,” the zombie replies. there’s a slight hesitation, his eyes darting away from eddie for a moment, before he adds, “my name’s richie, by the way.”
eddie follows where richie’s gaze had briefly gone, and notices beverly and mike standing a few feet away from them, leaving eddie and richie to have their conversation, but clearly still listening in on eddie and this mystery-zombie-guy. “i’m eddie,” he replies. and maybe it’s his bravery from earlier coming back, or his beating heart taking over his brain for a moment, but eddie can’t stop himself as he says, “i do appreciate you helping me. let me buy you a drink, or some brains, or… whatever it is you want. as a thank you.”
now, richie seems to be the one in surprise. his eyes widen behind his glasses (which he wasn’t wearing in the haunted house, but eddie likes how richie looks with them on), and it takes him a moment before his smile comes back and he nods. “s-sure. i’d like that.” most of richie’s face is covered by a layer of face paint, but it’s still thin enough that eddie can see the skin underneath darken in a warm blush.
eddie tells beverly and mike that he’ll meet up with them again later, and his friends seem to have no problem with letting eddie go off with the cute zombie boy, placing bets with each other on whether or not eddie will get his number by the end of the night.
eddie does buy richie some brains- a delicious cupcake with frosting designed to look exactly like a real brain, and they share it while walking around together. eddie never thought that getting lost in a haunted house could be a good thing, but later that night when he’s looking down at the grey body paint on his hand left from where richie had held it, as he inputs richie’s number into his phone, he couldn’t be happier that it all happened.

hc where one year eddie isn’t allowed to go trick or treating, for whatever bullshit reason set by sonia, he has to call up the losers and tell them that he won’t be able to join them this year. he’s really upset about it, because halloween is one of his favourite nights of the year. (he gets to hang out with his friends all night, and he gets free candy? what could be better than that!) he reassures his friends to have fun without him, though, and tells them to pick up a few pieces of candy for him.
the next day at school, eddie realizes that his friends took his words quite literally.
the losers each show up to class with this big bag full of candy, and at first eddie thought they brought it to show how much candy they had scored the night before… but then the losers start handing the bags over to eddie. when he asks what this is all about, they tell him that at every house they went to, they made sure to get an extra piece of candy for eddie. they put all of those pieces into a separate bag, and brought it to school with them to give to eddie.
sure, it sucked that he hadn’t been able to come trick or treating with them, but the losers weren’t about to let eddie miss out on the candy as well. and when eddie realizes this, his love for his friends grows even stronger.

👻🎃HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!!!🎃👻
unfortunately i wasn’t able to finish my halloween fic in time for this year….. as you can probably tell from my absence i’ve been quite busy, but hopefully i’ll be able to get it done this week! so in the meantime, feel free to enjoy the other spooky fics that i’ve written :3
to build a home 👻🖤
Eddie wasn’t sure what he was expecting when his mother told him they were going to be moving to a small town in Maine- but he certainly was not expecting to form his first real friendship with a dead boy.
trick or treat! 🎃🍬
A sequel to “to build a home”, where Eddie convinces his new friends to join him on a Halloween tradition.
can you stake my heart 🧛🦇
Mike took a deep breath, preparing to launch into his story. “Over the past two weeks, five people have gone missing,” he said. “I couldn’t figure it out at first, there was no pattern to the disappearances. All of the victims were from different parts of town, different ages, both men and women, no connection to each other except for the fact that they all lived in Derry. I was starting to think that there was no connection at all, that maybe this wasn’t my kind of thing… until the first three bodies turned up- both of them completely drained of blood.” Mike didn’t have to explain any further. “Vampires,” Richie finished.
hope you enjoy these spooky fics for now!!
HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!!!! 👻🎃🧛🧟☠️🦇

a reddie college au where richie works at the local public library as a children’s storyteller, on the weekends he comes in and does story time for all the little kids. he mostly does it to practice his different voices and impressions and because it pays pretty well for a summer job.
he’s planning on only doing it for the summer and then quitting once school starts again, but once september rolls around… richie finds another reason to stay.
on the weekends, he starts to notice probably the cutest guy he’s ever seen come into the library to study. the silent study area is quite far away from the children’s area of the library so richie doesn’t usually see his mystery crush during his shifts, but when he goes on his breaks, on thee way to the break room he always walks past the silent tables and he always lays eyes on his mystery crush.
richie thinks it’s kind of pathetic of him to be falling in love with a guy who he’s never even spoken to before, but he’s just so…. pretty, that richie can’t help it as his heart beats like crazy whenever he sees him.
little does he know, though, that eddie kaspbrak is feeling the very same way about the cute guy who works at the library- pretty much the only reason why eddie keeps coming back to the library every single weekend.
eddie only came to the library that first time because his regular coffee shop was closed, so he decided to go over to the library instead…… and immediately falls in love with the attractive guy over in the kids’ section, reading out a story in the goofiest voice ever but with the cutest smile on his face.
now, he comes back every weekend by telling himself that it’s better that he comes to the library instead of the coffee shop because it’s saving him money, and definitely not because it’s the best part of his week when he sees the cute library guy walking past his table a few times in the hours that he’s there for.
and even though they both desperately want to talk to each other they never do, because richie thinks that it would be rude of him to interrupt this guy while he’s studying, and eddie doesn’t think it would be appropriate of him to try and flirt with richie while he’s at work, so instead they both silently pine over their library crushes until one day they can work up the courage to talk to the other <3

As the sun just began to dip in the sky behind him and the final minutes before his curfew approached, Eddie begrudgingly decided to go with the last option. He knew that with everything he was feeling, he was in no state to confront his mother about such a serious issue. If he went in there now, with his emotions as high as they were, demanding answers, things would end up ugly. He knew that the best, and the safest, thing to do would be to pretend that nothing had changed at all- to just bite his tongue, and try his very hardest to be civil with his mother for tonight. All he had to do was make it through dinner, and then he could escape to his room and carefully plan out what he would do next.
All he had to do was make it through dinner. And as confused and angry as he was with his mom, as much as her lies were hurting him, Eddie was sure he could hold things together for one dinner.
He just didn’t know that his plan was destined to fail, to fall apart the moment he walked through the front door.
