“I’m sick, but not the kind of sick you’d expect.” Soft eyes looked up around the circle of people only for a split second.

“I think it happened when I was twelve, maybe thirteen.” Finger began to fidget within each other, trying to distract the mind.

“It’s so weird because I remember every detail so well. Like my mind just replays it constantly.” The words came out with a scoff like laugh, head shaking as she tried to forget certain details.

“You’re staying here from now on.” John set down the bag as though it were garbage, as though she was.

“What about them? They’ll come looking for me.” Her head shook in disbelief and fear, trying to convince him this plan of his wasn’t going to work.

Everyone in the group seemed to be starring long and hard at the girl who never spoke. The girl who never shared during group, who hadn’t ever thought she would. Not until today.

“Maybe they think I’m dead, I don’t know. That’s what I like to believe.” Her thumb rubbed against the skin on her hand web, noticing and secretly counting each freckle that rested there. “Part of me thinks they know about me but just don’t care.”

“If Dean finds out-“

“He won’t.” John cut you off, looking you dead in the eye. His own eyes were so cold, so empty of love, even for his own daughter.

“Will you at least visit me?” She practically begged not wanting to be left here without a family.

“I’m eighteen now, meaning I can write to people. Legally I can’t leave because I’m a danger to myself.” Eyes faltered down the the white bandages covering her wrists from freshly made marks.

“My family never stays in one place, but I have one person who does.” A small smile came to her lips. “Bobby.”

“Bobby will kill you if he finds out, he told you he’d let me live with him to help out.” Tears came steaming down her face, but her voice stayed strong. “At least tell me why you’re doing this.”

“I sent the letter today to his address, hopefully the old man still lives there.” You halfway joked before knocking on wood, not wanting to jinx it. “I could find my family.”

“She’s a kid!” Dean grunted with his words, fully in mode to fight at any costs.

“My kid.” John stepped closer in, leaving little space between him and his oldest as Dean was beginning to be pressed against the wall.

“Maybe she would be your kid if you were around.” He barked back at his father, he too taking a step in and showing he had no fear and no intention not to protect and defend his thirteen year old sister.

On the rickety motel bed sat the young girl, being comforted by her other brother Sam. Her head being rested crooked on his chest as his arm hung around her.

Johns face flushed with anger with clenched fists as he tried to contain it.

“Get in the car, Y/n.” He commanded as though he was some sort of drill Sargent and she was his soldier.

Doing as she was told, she began to rise off of the bed. Squeezing Sam’s hand once to show him she was okay as she grabbed her bag.

“She’s not going anywhere.” Dean stepped in front of the door, making her stop in her tracks. Her face showing sympathy and bravery as she silently showed Dean in her eyes that everything would be okay.

Breathing heavy for a moment, he was unsure about moving, yet he never broke eye contact with her. Slowly his eyes began to grow soft. His hands relax, but his heart remain racing.

“It’s okay, Dean.” She encouraged, smiling as she walked past him and out the door. And all the while he stood there, wondering if it would be the last time he would ever see her.
