Trion/ XL is OK With Sexual Harassment

I know it’s not like me to make posts like this, actually I don’t think I’ve ever done this before but I feel the need to get this out there.

I’ve been trying to console my best friend after she has been sexually harassed for nearly two years in an online game to the point where she has been seeking therapy to help cope with this individual. I know to most people the solution would be to block the person, report them, or just quit; but the bottom line is she has blocked them, we have reported him NUMEROUS times, and she shouldn’t have to quit her hobby because of this man. So, that being said, I felt like it was time to let other people know about the sexual harassment that the gaming company Trion has allowed over the years.

This all began with a crush this guy who I’m going to call Richard had on my friend who I’m going to call Sarah. She rejected him, as she had every right to do. This sparked “war” against Sarah and her male friend who Richard assumed she rejected him for. Well, after months of hostile behavior towards Sarah and her friend, Richard had Sarah kicked from her guild and began his spree of uninterrupted harassment. As well as accusing her of sleeping with a married man, they’ve gone around depicting her as someone who will suck up to people to give her stuff. Annoying and toxic, yes, but it doesn’t stop there.

So far he has:

Constantly shoved the topic of menopause in her face by doing things like naming his houses “Sarahsdriedupmenopausehouse”

Stalking her

Parading around her

Naming his mounts and pets to target her

Getting his guild in on this, people who used to be her friends but are now playing into his toxicity

Broken TOS (terms of service) and exploited parts of the game (both which are supposedly bannable) by:

Using plants to draw genitalia and write targeted messages to her

Porting afk players related to her through portals for kills

This is just a small list of the kinds of things this guy has been doing but the bottom line is that he has been sexually harassing her and the company has done nothing about it but tell her it’s “pvp” regardless of the fact that all of the above is bannable and she is seeking therapy for the emotional damage this has caused her and is considering taking legal actions. I just wanted to put this out there for people to see the kinds of behaviors Trion allows in their games. Hopefully by spreading some awareness the company will start taking actions against players like this.

There is a funny story behind this. I grew up in Europe my whole life(Italy, romania, Germany. ) and never have I once seen this soda called “surge” sooo… mff 2014, I was handed about 5 of them just because of the color. No I didn’t know about the design. But God damn this drink pretty much sums me up!!
