dedicated to the sussexes and their american adventure.
NOTE: due to not having enough time to run two blogs, all future sussexblr content can now be found at ivylakes.
“This year, 2021, we welcomed our daughter, Lilibet, to the world. Archie made us a ‘Mama’ and a ‘Papa’, and Lili made us a family. As we look forward to 2022, we have made donations on your behalf to several organizations that honor and protect families – from those being relocated from Afghanistan, to American families in need of paid parental leave."
It was first shared by Team Rubicon, an organisation mobilising veterans Harry has supported for years. It’s one of a number of charities the couple have donated to this Christmas. Others include Welcome.US, Human First Coalition, Humanity Crew, Paid Leave for All, PL+US, and Marshall Plan for Moms.
Due to not having the time in my life to run two blogs and dedicate the time I want to the Sussex family, I will be moving all future content involving the Sussexes to my personal account @ivylakes. I will reblog content from that blog here, as I post it. If you wish to follow that account, please do as I will be amping up my coverage over there (both past and future content).
Thank you so much for your kindness and support during my time on this page.
Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan have made this year’s #TIME100 Most Influential List: “In a world where everyone has an opinion about people they don’t know, the duke and duchess have compassion for the people they don’t know. They don’t just opine. They run toward the struggle.”
The Sussexeswho were photographed by @paridukovic at their home and styled by Clare & Nina Hallwrothare one of @TIME’s cover stars for the list, alongside a short profile written by @chefjoseandres (whose @WCKitchen the couple’s Archewell Foundation works closely with).
hello! I was wondering if you would be able to make an edit of all of Meghan’s titles? Or if you have already made an edit like that? I just love your edits! Have a lovely day!
I've been so inactive on this blog, so I don't know how old this request is, but I can work most definitely work on one for you!
In reflecting on my 40th birthday and the many things I am grateful for, I’m struck that TIME IS AMONG OUR GREATEST AND MOST ESSENTIAL GIFTS: Time with our loved ones, time doing the things we love, time spent learning, laughing, growing, and the sacred time we have on this earth. Amongst the most valuable gifts of time is also time spent in service to others knowing that it can contribute to incredible change. To that last point, and with my 40th lap around the sun in mind, it made me wonder: what would happen if we all committed 40 minutes to helping someone else or to mentoring someone in need? And then what would happen if we asked our friends to do the same?
In the past two years, and in large part because of the COVID-19 pandemic, TENS OF MILLIONS OF women around the world have left the workforce, including over two million women in the U.S. So many of these women are also SHOULDERING THE BRUNT OF THE CRISIS when it comes to unpaid labor, including schooling and caring for family members. And the latest research shows that FEWER WOMEN THAN MEN WILL REGAIN WORK as we recover from the pandemic.
I believe mentorship is one way to help women regain confidence and rebuild their economic strength, and for my birthday, I have asked 40 friends, activists, athletes, artists, and world leaders to help kickoff a global effort by contributing 40 MINUTES OF MENTORSHIP to support women re-entering the workforce. With this time, I hope they each help someone advance a professional life on her own terms, and, I hope that they inspire countless others to give 40 minutes of their time as well.
If you are able, please JOIN US and pledge 40 minutes today in service of others in the way that feels right to you. The time that you donate can contribute to a GLOBAL WAVE OF SERVICE and set in motion meaningful impact in our own communities, and across the world.
