*busts the door down after my long as break* ???????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NEw???? Twilgith?????? Animated show?????????????? My god have my prayers been ANSWERED??????
Oh please dear god, please be faithful to the books! I need it to be as feral and unhinged as possible TT0TT
I wonder what animation style they'll go with. I hope it's anime. I feel like SM is an anime nerd.
But are we gonna get the same style as the 1) Japanese light novel artist (doubt it u_u), 2) the Korean cover-ist of the novels (also doubt, but maybe more likely). 3) The same style as the actual comic with the korean artist that was also used for the guide book? (where I'm putting my money tbh)

                                        Wednesday Season 2:
                                        Hyde in the Shadows
Episode 3A: A Woe from the Past
“ENID!” Wednesday strangled out her cry, frantically running over to Enid and almost dropping her flashlight in the process.
It wasn’t good, her clothes were ripped and torn, color ruined by the blood they bathed in.
“No! No, no, no,” Wednesday whispered, placing her fingers to her carotid pulse.
Wednesday could feel a strong thrumming against her fingers.
Wednesday choked back the lump in her throat as relief swept over her briefly. She’s alive! But this blood
.
Wednesday was going to need to get Enid to a hospital and fast.
Snap! Snap!
Wednesday jolted where she sat, and whipped around only to see it was Thing snapping his fingers. He pointed in the distance, where a strange lump lay.
Wednesday shone her flashlight over to it, and was met with a severed arm. It was ripped off at about the shoulder, it was dripping with blood, staining the long white sleeve that was still dressed in.
Before Wednesday could get up to investigate, partially not wanting to leave Enid’s side, she heard another snap in the distance. This time, it wasn’t Thing.
Wednesday’s heart froze in her chest, looking at Enid’s unconscious body she realized she was going to have to carry her.
Wednesday threw Enid’s arm over her neck, she placed her own hands under the small of Enid’s back and under her knees, and lifted.
Her knees buckled and she almost toppled forward but she steadied herself just in time. It appeared she was weaker than she thought, that or the cold had really gotten to her.
Thing ran in front of her and started signing furiously, Your legs! Lift with your legs!
“I prefer that advice with someone who actually has legs,” Wednesday spat in frustration. It was her own damn legs that were the issue here to begin with anyway.
Thing flipped her off.
Before Wednesday could retaliate back at him, they heard another snap. It was getting closer.
Snap!
Snap!
Wednesday tried again to lift Enid up, and again she failed.
Snap!
Snap!
Snap!
The noises were getting more frequent, louder, closer. With each snap Wednesday’s heart quickened until
..
Crash!
The sound of a tree in the darkness of the forest echoed not far behind the tree line Wednesday had her back to.
Cer-crunch!
This time, it didn’t sound like a twig being snapped, it was something much, much bigger.
Something in that instance shot through Wednesday, she felt the strength she needed and wrenched herself upward with Enid, and charged away; Thing barely had time to grab a hold of her jacket as she ran away.
Wednesday began sprinting wildly through the forest, thanking the moon for coming out of the clouds just to give her enough light to see.
She made her way through the grove of destruction back to the graves.
Unsure of the exact location to get back to Nevermore, she looked up at the sky, upon seeing the constellation she needed, she began running in the direction she thought best.
She kept running, as breaking and slithering happened occasionally behind her.
Dim lights started to appear in her vision, but it wasn’t the castle school she expected. It was a long building that was mostly made of glass. The greenhouse near the school.
She ran around the side and with luck, there was a door propped open with a rock, Wednesday wrenched the door open and kicked the rock away, and quietly closed it behind her.
She ran into the thicket of the greenhouse, the ones with the most plants to hide themselves in.
Her knees finally gave out when she was near the tallest plants, Wednesday forced the fall backwards so that she wouldn’t fall on Enid, afraid of hurting her more.
Wednesday panted, trying to catch her breath and regain her strength, but it wasn’t long until she heard the rustling outside. She quietly placed Enid on the floor, and pulled a nearby tarp over her, signaling to Thing to get under to protect her as well.
As she heard the shuffling getting closer to the door, Wednesday snuck back over, picking up a pair of hedge clippers on the way.
She positioned herself just around the corner from the doorway, a perfect striking position. She was going to make sure the monster only took one of them.
The figure stopped at the door, jiggling the handle, until it opened.
It took slow steps inward. Right as Wednesday saw a figure appear in her line of sight, she thrusted the hedge clippers forward and made contact with something dense.
“What the hell?!” a familiar voice shouted.
Wednesday realized that what she was stabbing wasn’t flesh of a mysterious monster, but a bag of fertilizer. She looked up to see the shocked expression of her cousin.
“Wednesday?! Listen, if this is about-”
Wednesday dropped the clippers, still wedged into the bag, and clapped her hand over her cousin’s mouth and pulled her down to the floor, out of sight of the. “Shhh!”
Friday went quiet, and both listened intently to the outside, but there was no sound. When Wednesday felt like the coast was clear, she finally released Friday and breathed a sigh of relief.
“What was that about?” Friday finally asked her cousin.
“There was a monster in the woods, it attacked us when we were filling the graves and-”
“Us?” Friday looked around, not seeing any plus one, “Did you forget your roommate or something? Wow, that's kinda low!” Friday eyed her cousin mischievously.
“No, I grabbed her, I hid her under the tarp in case the monster broke in,” Wednesday glared seriously.
“Tarp? As in the one near the carnivorous plant section?”
“Yes, the one near the-” Wednesday’s eyes widened, then she looked behind her and then back at Friday. She quickly bolted back to where she left her vulnerable roommate.
Friday sighed and shook her head then proceeded to follow her frazzled cousin.
***~***
Enid was confused. She could’ve sworn she was just with Wednesday in a graveyard, but now she found herself at the Rave’N dance from the prior semester.
It looked exactly like it did last semester, pre-red paint fiasco that is. But there was something off, there were no other students around, it was strangely foggy, and it smelt like soil.
Suddenly, music from nowhere started to play, and Enid could hear someone snapping behind her. She turned around to see Wednesday, dancing towards her. Enid looked at her in awe, just like she did back at the Rave’N.
“Wednesday what are you-” Enid started, but briefly forgot how to speak when Wednesday grabbed her by her hand and waist and swung her into a ballroom dance, feeling as if she had been literally swept off her feet.
“W-Wednesday, a-aren’t we a little close,” Enid could barely stutter out, her face heating up. She’d never ballroom danced before, because it always seemed so intimate.
Wednesday only responded by pulling Enid’s waist closer to her.
Enid and Wednesday continued the dance, hitting each beat with the song perfectly. Enid had wanted to dance with Wednesday back then, well, not so intimately at the time. Still, Enid was as happy about this as she was confused.
Finally the song came to a close, and Enid and Wednesday stopped, but Wednesday didn’t let go.
“Wednesday, I-I don’t think we should be doing this,” Enid blushed, trying to remember she had a boyfriend, and that should really detangle herself from her friend. This type of dance felt too romantic to brush aside.
Enid started to push away but Wednesday held her firm. Enid made the mistake of looking into Wednesday’s eyes, and melted into the dark abyss. It was like she was caught in a viper’s gaze, completely entranced but somehow
.. she didn’t mind.
They held their gaze for a moment, and then Wednesday started closing the gap between them. Enid panicked and closed her eyes, just as she felt Wednesday’s cold lips press against her own.
Enid’s head started to whirl in a bunch of different directions, but before she could straighten them out and reflect on it, someone’s very familiar voice cut through to her.
“Enid!”
It was Wednesday, but Wednesday was kissing her so how could she also be screaming her name?
“Enid, wake up!”
Wak-what do you mean ‘wake up?’ Enid thought. She slowly opened her eyes, wondering how Wednesday was doing this voice throwing trick while attempting to shove her tongue down her throat at the same time.
Instead seeing the tiny goth girl’s face pressed up against her, she was instead met with a big, green mouth with very sharp teeth. And it was smiling at her.
And the lips on Enid’s mouth? It was a giant part of a leaf she was biting into, possibly coming from the same giant strange plant in front of her.
Enid started to scream, and attempted to thrash her body but found it impossible to do, she looked down and saw that her whole body was encased in a giant leaf, acting almost like a hand. Enid attempted to scream louder, but it was muffled by the leaf.
“Enid! Don’t worry I’ll get you down!” Wednesday tried to calm her friend, fearing her friend would lose more blood by thrashing around.
“Antony! You put her down! She’s a friend! You remember what werewolves do to your digestive system!” Friday chastised the plant, spraying it with something.
The plan sneezed, and groaned, and then gently placed Enid on the ground.
Wednesday quickly rushed over to Enid and began looking her over to make sure she wasn’t hurt.
“Enid, are you ok?” Wednesday looked at Enid’s unfocused eyes, wondering if she should perform a homemade emergency blood transfusion. She’d need to know Enid’s blood type, and be quick in kidnapping another student if necessary.
“Mnnnnng, everything feels warm and fuzzy
.” Enid’s head spun and she didn’t know why.
“Ah, that's probably because of Antony. He’s part ginkgo biloba, an aphrodisiac,” Friday looked Enid over.
Well at least that explains the dream, Enid thought with chagrin, trying to get a grip.
“Friday
..” Wednesday glared at her cousin in annoyance while she took off her jacket and placed it over Enid to keep her warm.
“Whaaaat, it’s not his fault his great-great grandmother fooled around!” Friday whined.
“I mean your pet trying to eat my roommate,” then she turned her attention to Enid. “Enid, tell me your blood type-”
“He wouldn’t do that, he would’ve noticed she was a human-slash-werewolf, he’s allergic to both!”
“Then why did it look like he wanted to take a bite out of her? Enid! Please, what is your blood type?”
Friday shrugged and knitted her eyebrows in confusion, “He would’ve figured it out after the first bite
..” She then went over to her plant to try to talk it out with him.
Wednesday shook her head in frustration, “Enid, please, I need to know your blood type. So, I can help you!”
Enid attempted to look at Wednesday, but remembering the dream, quickly looked away blushing.
Ah! Get! A! Grip! Enid! It was the plant, the plant. Now what did she say? Blood transfusion? And why is she giving me her coat? I already hav-
Enid almost let out a scream, her eyes were as big as saucers as she saw what had happened. Her clothes had been torn, slashed, and stretched, but worse of all they were soaked in what appeared to be blood.
Wednesday grabbed Enid by the shoulders when she saw the girl about to freak out, afraid that maybe Enid was hurt more than she first realized, “Enid, listen don’t panic. I’ll get you to the hospital in a moment. Just tell me where it hurts-”
“Whose blood is this?!” Enid tried but failed to remain calm.
Wednesday looked at Enid in confusion and relief, “Who- it’s
. Isn’t it yours?”
“N-no, I’m j-j-just a l-little sore,” Enid’s head was spinning and she began to feel light-headed, she didn’t handle blood well. “Wait, how did I get here? Where’s Goody’s grave? How long was I out? Wait, when did Thing get here? Why am I covered in blood?!”
Thing placed himself on Enid’s hand reassuringly and shook his wrist before signing, When I arrived, you weren’t around, and Wednesday was unconscious.
Enid spun to Wednesday, “Wait you were unconscious?!”
“And you don’t remember who attacked you?”
“I WAS ATTACKED?!” Enid started hyperventilating.
Friday, ignoring the other two’s conversation, plopped down next to Enid with a washcloth and started scrubbing the blood off of her face and arms.
Enid jerked away, “What are you doing?! Why is she here?!”
“Oh, I’m sorry, I didn’t know this was your emotional support blood!” Friday said in mock innocence. “Here madam, would you like it back?” she shoved the bloody cloth into Enid’s face.
“Friday don’t-” Wednesday snatched the rag from Friday’s hand, but she was too late. With a small whimper, Enid collapsed to the floor, unconscious.
“Whoops,” Friday blinked, surprised.
“Great, look at what you did,” Wednesday sighed in frustration, “Do you happen to have any smelling salts around here?”
“Nope, hey, aren’t werewolves known for their love of rending flesh from bone? Shouldn’t she be fine with blood?”
“Yeah well, Enid’s special,” Wednesday grunted as she grabbed Enid from under her shoulders. “Grab her legs.”
“What?! Why do I have’ta?” Friday whined.
Wednesday glared at her cousin, “Consider it payment due for your thoughtless actions.”
Friday pouted but did as she was asked, “Fine but I feel like you still owe me.”
“Not for this, but I am about to ask you a favor.”
Friday groaned, knowing that any favor of Wednesday’s would require work. And she hated work.
The girls attempted to sneak themselves back into the school without notice.
However, it would be made apparent within the next few days that someone must’ve seen them, and rumors spread of seeing two hobgoblins sneaking a dead body into the school.
***~***
“Enid, wake up,” Wednesday attempted to shake the werewolf awake, but to no avail. She reached for her smelling salts and just as she undid the cap, the werewolf jolted up awake gagging.
“Put that away! Put it away!” Enid yelled, grabbing her sensitive nose and rolling around on the floor.
Wednesday had already closed the bottle the second Enid had woken up, now she was lighting one of Enid’s favorite candles, steak tartare scented. It was Wednesday’s turn to wrinkle her own nose, but she pushed past it.
“How are you feeling?” Wednesday asked.
“Major confused right now!”
“Well, you aren’t the only one.”
There was a long pause as they started thinking about the events of the day. Enid pulled her knees to her chest, and pulled Wednesday’s jacket tighter around her.
“What happened?” Enid mumbled.
Wednesday pinched the bridge of her nose, “Let’s retrace our steps
. We found Goody’s grave and opened it. You remember that, right?”
Enid nodded.
“And then I said I found a knife and you wanted me to hurry up because it was starting to get cold.”
“Yeah.”
“What happened after that for you?”
Enid was silent for a long time before she finally spoke, “I heard something in the woods, and then everything went black. And the next thing I know I’m-” Enid’s face went bright red and fumbled through the rest of her sentence, “I-I’m in the greenhouse being manhandled
.by a
. plant.”
Wednesday noticed Enid’s change in demeanor, Antony must’ve really scared her. No, this whole night must’ve scared her.
“Sorry about that, African Stranglers, especially ones raised by an Addams, are curious creatures but they are benign, I swear your life wasn’t in danger,” Wednesday tried to reassure her friend.
“Oh there was danger alright
” Enid mumbled.
Danger of a certain line being crossed, bah stupid brain, stupid dream! Enid started tapping her feet in annoyance with herself.
Wednesday glanced at Thing, some anxiety seeping into her face. She thought Enid was mad, and didn’t know where it was being aimed. To Wednesday, this situation was her fault. However, she could see if Enid placed the blame on her cousin instead, considering what Antony did.
The reality? Both were idiots. Plain and simple.
Thing could only shrug at Wednesday, he wasn't a mind reader, only a hand. The best he could do was palm read.
“So, what about you? You didn’t tell me your side,” Enid’s words broke Wednesday from her thoughts.
Wednesday was silent, she mulled over if it was safe to tell Enid her vision, but ultimately decided it was alright.
“After I grabbed the knife, I had a vision.”
Enid shifted a little closer to Wednesday on the floor, giving her full attention, “And? What happened?”
“First I was in a black void, then
.. I saw Goody. In three different stages of her life. One was her killing Crackstone, one with her as an adult in a meeting, and the last
.. Her death,” Wednesday picked up the sheathed knife and started twirling it in her fingers. “It seems like she fell by this exact knife actually.”
Enid comically gulped, “What do you think she was trying to tell you?”
“Well, her death seems to be caused by a traitor,” Wednesday glanced at her satchel, where her cellphone was hidden. “So I guess I better watch my back.”
Enid saw the slight anxiety in her friend’s eyes, so she got up to clap her reassuringly on the shoulder, “Don’t worry Wednesday! Thing and I won’t let anything happen to you!”
Wednesday eyed her wearily, “You I can trust. Thing, on the other hand, needs to find his way back into my good graces.”
Thing did an irritated dance on the table.
“Well then don’t get distracted by the next set of long, slender fingers that crawl by you next time,” Wednesday said darkly.
Thing stopped dancing to kick the ground shyly.
Enid laughed at their antics, but jerked her hand away from Wednesday’s shoulder, “AH! I’m sorry I got blood on your clothes!”
Wednesday smirked, checking out the slight stain of red left on the white part of her shirt, “Blood doesn't bother me-”
Wednesday stopped mid-sentence as she witnessed the bloodied handprint on her shoulder started to smoke. The red blood started to peel away from the cloth, as if being suctioned off, and then flitted and evaporated into the air in a small puff of purplish black smoke.
Before Wednesday could even process the strange occurrence that just happened, she heard Enid scream.
When Wednesday turned her head, she was met with her roommate being engulfed in the same purple smoke. But just as quickly it started, it all vanished. All the bloodied residue was gone, as if it was never there to begin with.
Enid stood there bugged eyed and frozen, with Wednesday mirroring her with her own flabbergasted expression.
Enid was the first to break the silence, waving her hands frantically as if she was trying to shake something gross off, “Ew, ew, ew, EW! Nope, that’s it! I’m done! I’m done with this day!”
Enid ran over to her side of the room and began grabbing a bunch of different items.
“Enid, what are you doing?”
“I am going to take a shower and go to bed!”
“Enid, we have to get up in 3 hours.”
“I’LL POWER NAP!” Enid yelled, racing out and slamming the door behind her.
***~***
The light streaming into the dorm room burned Wednesday’s eyes. She wished she had the power to fight the sun and cast the world into eternal night. Not because it was waking her up, she was just a fan of the night.
Wednesday had been awake for the rest of the night, catching up on the schoolwork she was behind on. But really it had been because she was on edge after being chased by the monster, not that she would admit to anyone that was the case.
At the cue of her roommates barrage of upbeat alarms, Wednesday dragged herself from her desk and performed her usual routine. She took the time to check the phone that Xavier had gotten her, but there were no new messages. Wednesday felt a mixture of relief and anxiety at the silence.
Unbeknownst to Wednesday’s friends at Nevermore, Wednesday had found herself a stalker. One that seemed to want her killed, at least that’s what their previous messages seemed to imply.
They’re previous messages had shown her interacting with Tyler and Xavier, with Xavier’s being right as she got her new phone only moments prior. It was then followed by a message claiming they would be watching her and a moving picture of her with a knife being thrown through her head.
On one hand, Wednesday wouldn’t mind a little cat and mouse game, on the other hand
. Well, let’s just say some complications had arisen in her life, so this would be an inconvenience instead of a fun game for her.
The other issue was, the stalker going silent might indicate they were bored and didn’t feel like keeping the ruse up. Or more likely, they wanted to be sneaky, so they could strike at any moment.
Another barrage of alarms pulled Wednesday out of her reverie, she put her phone away, deciding it was time to finish up her usual routine with Enid.
Enid set alarms, slept through every single one, Wednesday would be the first to wake up, usually because of said alarms, and after getting ready would have to wake her roommate up in turn. Day after day.
It was a common occurrence in the dorm room, to the point that, at the end of the previous semester, Enid even made mention to Wednesday on how she’d miss her cold, dead stare waking her up in the morning.
“Enid, wake up,” Wednesday hovered over her unconscious roommate, slapping the sleeping girl’s phone screen as another Korean pop song blared from her alarm app. She then moved her hand from the phone screen, to the sleeping werewolf’s shoulder and shook. “Get up.”
Enid’s head rocked back and forth with each shake, but did not stir from her slumber.
Wednesday sighed, Enid was a borderline supernaturally heavy sleeper, and it made getting to class a great obstacle.
Should I just pinch her until she wakes? No, no, she hates pain, and I will definitely get an earful. Wednesday looked towards the window and thought, Maybe I’d have time to run and get a wheelbarrow, and just push her there as is? No no, then she’ll get mad because of her appearance. But I can’t leave her, she’ll get mad if I let her sleep in.
As Wednesday stood there, pondering how to wake Enid up, Enid jostled in her sleep. Her bangs moved from her face.
Wednesday froze, without her makeup on, Wednesday now had clear visibility of the scars. Without realizing, she leaned forward to get a better look.
They were pink, closed, and looked like they had been healing well. A small bubble of relief floated into Wednesday, but was easily swept away by her other emotions.
There was something gnawing at her, it was the same feeling she’d gotten when Enid stormed out of their dorm room last semester. When she went to room with Yoko. It left a sour taste in Wednesday’s mouth; she didn’t like it.
But there was something else, something greater than that sour feeling. It was a strange warmth. Another feeling Wednesday couldn’t quite place. But she felt it was something akin to wonder.
The warmth and sour mixed in her, crashing into each other, fighting for dominance until-
Enid sighed dreamily in her sleep.
The warmth won. Curiously, Wednesday reached her hand out, and touched Enid’s cheek with the back of her index finger. She softly stroked Enid’s cheek, feeling her soft skin and the grooves of her scar under her finger. Wednesday had lost herself in utter fascination.
“Mffgnf,” Enid mumbled in her sleep.
Wednesday wrenched her hand away as if it had been electrocuted, but with a much more satisfying after shock. She held her hand by the wrist, afraid of it having a mind of its own again, and feeling like she’d done something she shouldn’t have. The sour feeling started dripping back into her consciousness.
She clenched her teeth, trying to push back the feeling and regain control of herself.
This is ridiculous, just wake Enid up and get on with this accursed day.
Wednesday bent back down again, and shook Enid, but to still no avail. Wednesday looked up at Enid’s wall of posters, and her eyes landed on that one pop band Enid liked. Seventeen.
A very stupid idea flashed into Wednesday’s head, normally she would ignore such an idea, but she was short on time and decided anything was worth it.
“Enid. That Seventeen band you like is breaking up-”
“NO!” Enid shot forward, her forehead colliding with Wednesday’s chin, sending the latter girl flying.
Wednesday flew back and crumpled towards the ground, facing away from Enid’s bed..
Enid, not aware of what she just did, fumbled for her phone, to see if such a catastrophic event was true.
Thing, who had been watching from Wednesday’s table for some time, looked on in amusement.
His amused ‘expression’ melted when he made eye contact with the gray-scaled girl, who was glaring at him from the floor. It seemed she realized he saw everything.
For one small brief moment, Thing couldn’t help but picture Wednesday as a cat who just got caught falling off the sofa and was now embarrassed. He was going to keep that to himself of course, lest he find himself buried in another grave.
“Ah that was scary,” Enid flopped back on her bed in relief, phone in hand, “I just had a horrible dream that my favorite band just broke- What are you doing?”
Enid looked at Wednesday, still crumpled on the ground.
“Looking for a rat I just saw,” Wednesday responded in a monotone, still looking Thing.
Enid squeaked, “R-rat?! Is there one in here?” She pulled her legs to her chest, afraid of tiny vermin.
“I don’t know, but I’ll kill it if I find it,” Wednesday said through clenched teeth, “Thing, did you see anything?”
Thing shook his wrist violently. He’d never dream of ratting Wednesday out.
“Then my mistake, it was just my imagination,” Wednesday replied more calmly, picking herself up and dusting off her uniform, “Hurry up Enid, we’re going to be late.”
“Late?”
Then Enid looked at her phone and her eyes bugged out as she scrambled off her bed and dove into her closet.
“I’m going to wait outside,” Wednesday mumbled, motioning to Thing to follow her. She tried to ignore the sour feeling as she caught a glimpse of Enid grabbing her makeup kit.
***~***
“...and so they’re totally dating now,” Enid rambled on, “but he’s not taking it too well, so there’s like all that drama! Oh, and then-”
Wednesday attempted to block the werewolf out to no avail; Enid had taken it upon herself to ‘catch Wednesday up on everything she missed,’ despite Wednesday’s protests.
Wednesday wondered how her roommate was such a morning person, especially with her running on such little sleep, and despite being a deep sleeper.
“Where do you get all this energy from?”
“And then she was all like- Energy? I dunno, it just comes naturally!”
“Astounding.”
“Here,” Enid shoved a small bottle into Wednesday’s hand, “I snagged some of these for you yesterday during lunch. You’ve been looking a bit dead-well, deader than usual.”
Wednesday looked down to see a horrifically neon, little bottle. It was an energy drink.
“It’s no quad, and it tastes horrible, but it’ll give you the energy you need!”
Wednesday glared down at the bottle, unsure if she should drink it. When she opened it up, it smelt like a vial of poison that Pugsley tried to poison her with when they vacationed in the Bahamas one year. It was probably best not to chance drinking it.
“Hey! Wednesday! Enid! Wait up!” the girls could hear Xavier’s voice cut through the corridor.
Wednesday took the shot of the energy drink, hoping it’d kill her.
“Man, am I glad to see you again!” Xavier yelled as he jogged over to the girls. Behind him, a smaller boy was shadowing him. It was Pugsley.
Xavier had his arms outstretched, as if ready for a hug, but quickly put them down at his sides when he saw Wednesday’s glare, remembering how she felt about touching. But that didn’t stop his grin.
“So you decided to come back! And you brought your brother!” he pulled Pugsley into a one armed, side hug. “Did you know that the Pugster and I are roommates?”
Pugsley's eyes widened and he said eyed the longer haired boy with a grimace.
“Considering my brother’s luck, I didn’t need to be psychic to guess.”
“Pugster? Do you think you're cool?” Pugsley muttered under his breath, unamused.
Xavier's smile faltered into an embarrassed frown, “Ah, I guess you must’ve caught on. I am one of the coolest guys in school,” he nodded solemnly. “But don’t let that intimidate you, Pugs! You’re still my roommate.”
Pugsley shrugged Xavier off and looked at Enid curiously.
Enid held out her hand to greet her best friend’s little brother, “Hello Pugsley, I’m Enid. I don’t think I’ve had the chance to introduce myself.”
Pugsley looked at Enid’s hand as if he was inspecting a live bomb, unsure how his body would react to her rainbow nail polish. Then his face lit up like he connected some unknown dots.
“So you’re the one who sent Aunt Omar to the hospital with that glitter bomb!” Pugsley looked at her in amazement.
“Wait. Hospital?!” Enid’s smile and hand dropped. “Wednesday you didn’t mention I sent one of your relatives to the hospital!”
Wednesday smirked, “I told you made quite a scene.”
“Is she alive?!” Enid’s face was starting to turn white from anxiety.
“Undecided.”
Enid paled even more.
“Don’t worry, she was already undecided even before that!” Pugsley said optimistically, thinking that would calm the werewolf.
It didn’t. Enid let out a whimper, surely Wednesday’s family hates her now.
“Do they hate me?”
“My family? No. Me? Yes,” Wednesday teased, but it was hard to tell due to her normal monotone cadence.
“WHAT?! Why do you-”
“Should’ve gone bigger, I wished for more carnage. Should’ve taken more of them out,” Wednesday smirked. “It’d save me some trouble.”
“Yeah, don’t worry! The family had a party at the hospital, they thought it was fun!” Pugsley added, “Oh yeah you missed it Wednesday! So, when we got to the lobby, Cousin Melancholia-”
Pugsley chatted to his sister, filling her in on a lobby visit that she apparently missed out on. Which didn’t escape Enid’s notice, but she filed it away for later.
As she was debating if the situation she put herself in was good or not, Xavier saddled up next to her.
“Glitter bomb?” He whispered to her.
“It’s a whole thing, I was annoyed she was ignoring my texts.”
“Wait, did she end up returning your texts?”
“No, but we did exchange letters.”
“Ah, right, Ajax did say something about that,” Xavier nodded to himself, “Damn, I should’ve thought of that.”
Enid gave him a small smile, then her eyes shifted back to Wednesday. She was still listening to her little brother rattle on and on about something or other. Wednesday didn’t look like she was even listening to him, but Enid knew better.
Wednesday always listened.
***~***
The four students walked into the classroom about five minutes late, but considering the state of the lecture hall, it was probably the least of the teacher’s worries. Well, if there was a teacher there.
All the students were clustered about, talking with their friends. Bags and jackets thrown all around. Not pure chaos, no that would be fun, but still very disorderly.
“What is this pathetic display of madness?” Wednesday muttered.
“Oh yeah, it’s been like this for a week,” Enid spoke nonchalantly as she dragged Wednesday to a vacant desk to set their stuff down.
Pugsley followed and sat down in the set of desks in front of Enid and his sister but grimaced slightly as Xavier sat next to him.
“Why? Is it a study hall?”
“No, well, yes for now. The teacher hasn’t arrived yet. The class has something to do with learning about Normies but, again, no teacher.”
Dissatisfied with the vague explanation, Wednesday started rummaging around in her bag, hoping to find the syllabus, but stopped when she heard a familiar voice.
“Well, well, well, Wednesday Addams. Sort of alive and well I see?” Bianca sauntered over to the duo.
“Just barely,” Wednesday nodded at Bianca.
Bianca smirked at her, before she shifted her eyes to Friday, who was on the other side of the room. Surrounded by a lot of happy looking students.
“Someone seems popular,” Bianca muttered.
Enid noticed the groupies around Friday, “What?! Why?!”
Why would anyone want to hang out with her?! Enid thought. She’d known that the truth got out around school. How Friday held her cousin hostage and almost killed her. Enid understood that’s just how the Addams operated, and seemed chill about it, but anyone outside that family? It didn’t make sense.
“Not as many as there usually are,” mumbled Pugsley, then turned to Wednesday. “Think she’s acting shy?”
Wednesday gave him a very small attempt at a shrug.
“Shy? Not as many? What do you mean by that?” Enid started interrogating.
“Oh, it’s not uncommon to see Friday surrounded by people, usually admirers.”
“Usually,” Wednesday emphasized darkly.
“She’s pretty outgoing and can fit in with Normies sometimes! I don’t know how she does it but she gets it from someone. Her dad’s side? No wait, I think it’s her mom’s side,” Pugsley's eyes started to unfocus as he drifted off into his own world. Trying to envision their family tree Enid presumed.
“Why do you care?” Wednesday asked, not looking at Enid.
“N-no reason,” Enid looked over at Friday’s camp and still was baffled by it all.
All the while, Wednesday glanced at Enid from the corner of her eye, a slight frown formed on her lips. Wednesday didn’t like the attention her cousin was getting from Enid.
“Speaking of your cousin, you and your family aren’t immune to siren songs, are you?” Bianca cut in, but not without noticing Wednesday’s expression.
Pugsley and Wednesday looked at each other, interest peaked, then back at Bianca.
“I don’t know. Why?” Wednesday asked.
“Well, I tried to siren song your cousin into telling us where you were, but nothing happened. She heard what I said, but it seemed to have no effect.”
Pugsley just shook his head, unsure. Wednesday put one hand to her mouth and chin, thinking. Her brow furrowed when she moved a hand to one of her pigtails and twisted it in her fingers.
She shook her head, “No idea, but I’d like to experiment if that’s ok with you.”
“Uh, you want me to siren song you?” Bianca asked uncomfortably.
Siren song-ing a person wasn’t exactly a moral thing, and it was almost borderline illegal. She took a big risk when she tried with Friday, but got off lucky when Friday was a good sport about it.
But having someone’s permission
. Well, that was a different scenario entirely, and Bianca knew Wednesday Addams was too noble to say it was without her consent later.
“Yes, you have my consent. Of course, don’t make it too absurd,” Wednesday gestured to her brother. “Come Pugsley. This is possibly a once in a lifetime event.”
Pugsley looked elated as he scrambled from his desk to stand behind Wednesday. Only the Addamses would be excited about having their mental state altered.
Bianca looked nervous, but when she noticed everyone was too busy doing their own thing she relaxed. She had witnesses anyway, and she’d be discreet. Plus, a very interesting idea had popped into her head, and decided to throw caution to the wind.
Bianca took her necklace off and looked at the two goth students, and a very mischievous grin grew on her face.
She leaned down next to Wednesday’s ear and whispered her a song. A slight pink aura appeared around her eyes. But instead of a more dazed look that someone under a siren’s spell would usually look like they are under, Wednesday's eyes were wide and shocked.
She awkwardly turned around to face Pugsley and Enid’s direction, and jerked her body forward as if it was trying to walk but something was holding her back.
She was inches away from Pugsley when she dove past him and clutched at the edge of the desk Enid was next to. Her shoulders twisted and jerked as if they were trying to will her up, but Wednesday just stayed kneeling at her desk until the contortions finally subsided.
When Wednesday finally looked back at her friends, she had a look of absolute murder aimed right at Bianca.
“You want to die, Barclay?” Wednesday aimed her murderous glare at Bianca.
Bianca took a few steps back, her hands raised in surrender, “Hey now, it was just a joke! You didn’t specify what I couldn’t do,” the siren chuckled nervously.
Wednesday slowly took a step towards the other girl, “I said nothing absurd!”
“Oh come on, that wasn’t absurd! You’re just a bit too uptight, live a little!” waved away Wednesday's agitation, but despite her cool demeanor a small bead of sweat ran down her back.
Enid, not wanting Wednesday to be expelled from fighting Bianca, and also not wanting Bianca’s blood all over the floor, reached out and grabbed Wednesday’s shoulder.
Wednesday jerked away like a startled cat.
It was Enid’s turn to put her hands up in surrender, “Woah sorry! Um, don’t murder her? You just got here and I don’t want you to get expelled.”
Before Wednesday could argue, a cold, loud voice boomed into the room.
“Alright students! Back to your seats! NOW!” Principal Orlock walked in, or more like glided, it was hard to tell with the long robe he had on.
Students scattered and scrambled to find a seat, with Bianca choosing this as a great time to make an escape. Enid grabbed the fuming Wednesday by the arm and pulled her towards the desk they already chose earlier.
Once all the students were settled, Orlock began to speak again.
“I know all of you have been on the edge of your seat waiting for this class to start up. It came to my attention that your new teacher arrived late last night. So I’d like to give a nice warm welcome to your new “Normies and Outcasts Relations Teacher,”” Principal Orlock gestured to the doorway.
The principal began clapping, some students joined in halfheartedly, but stopped when the new teacher actually walked in.
He was a well-dressed man in a suit, with a fedora cap, somewhere in his 50s with graying hair. He looked like a total normie. He held a confident smile, even when his welcome was ice cold.
As he walked to the front of the class, Enid and Wednesday could hear the students gossiping.
“Another Normie?!” one exclaimed.
“What are they thinking, especially with last semester?!” another protested.
“What’s with that stupid fucking hat?” muttered annoyed.
“What’s for lunch today?” An oblivious one questioned.
Enid tried to reign in her own prejudice, wanting to give the man a chance. It was hard, considering the last Normie teacher they had tried to kill everyone in school, but most importantly her best friend Wednesday.
Enid looked over at Wednesday, wondering if she was having the same thoughts as everyone else, but she was startled when she saw Wednesday’s expression.
Wednesday had her hand over her mouth, her arm resting on the desk, but her eyes were as big as saucers. Since Enid couldn’t read half of her face, she wasn’t sure if it was surprise or shock or something else.
Well
. This can’t be good. Enid thought to herself.
The man approached the principal and shook his hand, then turned to the chalkboard and wrote his name: Sam Hilliard.
He put the chalk down, and went to the desk up front and leaned both arms against it, almost like a politician.
“Salutations students, my name is Samuel Hilliard. I will be your teacher for Normies and Outcasts Relations,” he wore a confident smile, not dissuaded by the atmosphere at all. Enid was sure this man was more like a politician than a teacher.
Mr. Hilliard, put a hand up in a ‘stop’ gesture, almost like he was swearing an oath on the desk, and put on a grave face, “I’ve heard about what happened last year with your previous teacher, and it is a grave
GRAVE shame. But worry not, I will not betray your trust like Ms. Thornhill did.”
The students were giving each other disgusted faces.
“Oy! What the hell is the school thinking with this bullshit?!” One student protested.
“No way our parents would approve of this!”
“I’m gonna have my mommy take this issue to the board!” A pompous student yelled.
“Actually, our board and our parent council all agreed on this after the events of Ms. Thornhill. We believe it is necessary to make sure something like this never happens again,” Orlock stepped in, silencing the disturbed students.
Mr. Hilliard’s smile didn’t waver, determined to put the students at ease, “We believe that the issue at hand is the lack of understanding between the factions, and the fear that it brings. We want to bridge that gap! When you graduate, you will find that you will interact with Normies and they’ll interact with Outcasts. Our goal is to showcase that we aren’t all so different when it comes down to it, we all want to make a living and live our best lives.
I want to showcase to both sides, there is nothing to fear. As long as we can come together, work and understand each other, then anything is possible!”
The students were silent for a long time after his speech, still unsure about him.
“So, you're saying you aren’t afraid of us?” One werewolf student asked.
Mr. Hilliard chuckled, “Of course not! You may be different from me, as I am to you, but there’s nothing you can do that would scare me as much as any Normie could!”
The students were still silent, not really believing this guy or what he was peddling.
Principal Orlock cleared his throat, and handed Mr. Hilliard a notebook, “Perhaps you should take attendance sir and finish the orientation.”
Mr. Hilliard sighed, “Oh I suppose you’re right. Ahem-Abigail Aaron?”
“Here.”
“Ronald Abbott?”
“I’m here.”
“Lori Acre?”
“Here.”
Mr. Hilliard paused, blinking twice at the next name with a slightly amused look, “Friday, Ad-” he cut off and went very silent.
After clearing his throat a few times, he continued, “F-Friday Ad-Addams.”
“Present,” Friday raised her hand, giving the man an inquisitive look, confused by his behavior.
Mr. Hilliard looked at the girl for only a brief moment and hastily looked back at his paper, chuckling and coughing nervously.
“Y-yes, I see. Ahem well let’s continue,” he seemed to regain his composure enough to move onto the next name, “Now is there a Puh-”
Mr. Hilliard stopped again as if the air had just vanished from his lungs.
He began to look ill, visibly green. Sweat started pooling down his face, as he grabbed at the collar of his shirt, pulling it away to let some ventilation in. His breathing became erratic, as he started to hyperventilate.
“Puh-puh-puh-Pugsley!” He managed to squeak, “I-i-is th-th-there a Puh-puh-Pugsley Addams here?”
Enid saw Pugsley’s hand shoot up in enthusiasm, “Oh! Oh! Here Mr. Hilliard, I’m here!” The younger boy said, waving his hand and pointing at himself ecstatically.
One of Mr. Hilliard’s legs seemed to have given out, as he stumbled and had to catch himself on the desk, he was near. He was barely able to pull himself up as he greeted the boy, “I-I see, y-you’re here,” he gulped then muttered, “N-nobody said y-you’d b-b-be here.”
Mr. Hilliard tried to take some deep breaths, but they did not calm him. He gripped the paper in his hand, afraid to keep reading. But he continued nonetheless, as if there was a gun to his head.
“N-n-now i-i-is th-there a-,” all color drained from the man’s face as he read the next name, “Wuh-Wednesday A-Add-Addams?”
Everyone turned to look at Wednesday, Mr. Hilliard following their gazes.
Wednesday sat there, eyes still wide, and then slowly removed her hand from her mouth. Revealing her own maniacal grin as she raised her hand.
“Here.”
The sound of Mr. Hilliard’s fainting body could be heard throughout the halls.

A/N: (for the tumblr crowed, TT0TT sorry for the late post again, I posted it very late on the other sites then was kinda asleep all of sunday orz)
Your right Enid, this isn’t going to be good
.FOR HIM!
Anyway, Enid feels like the type of person who would have a cheesy dream like that I dunno. u_u (don’t worry guys, no NTR will happen, I’m not about that and they’re all too dense for that to happen, but I think dreams be doing funny things is funny. Silly head fat firing off weird chemicals that make you wanna smooch your bff, totally normal haha
right?
right????? ).
Uhhhhh as for Enid sleeping in and Wednesday waking her up, WEDNESDAY seems to hint that Wed wakes her up in the morning so that’s my take on how it usually goes down.
Also, ugh I’mma hate writing anything dealing with any politics with this
.it doesn’t help that WEDNESDAY hasn’t gone super deep within the show and Normie/Outcast situation either. TT0TT I barely have anything to build off on and I’m not good with this kinda stuff. But I’mma try my best! (it’s not a main focus don’t worry, and the class isn’t going to be a big thing like we’re gonna sit through lectures lksajdflkja, it’s more a device to bring Mr. Hilliard in).
Btw I am changing the intermissions up juuuuuust a tad (you’ll get a lot more writing from the letters, that’s all I’ll say on that ;U)
I’m also in the process of making another Wenclair fanfic (this is still my top priority, it’s just I’ll slowly chip away at the other one when I need a change of pace). It’ll be a rewrite of S1, and a slowburn Wenclair one (but it’ll burn A LOT faster than this fic). But who knows maybe you’ll get another fanfic next Sat. TT0TT
Fun Fact 1: Antony is based off of Morticia’s Cleopatra (specifically animated and live action 90s TV shows). I was going to give him vines but then I remembered some people on the internet are weird. :’( *bonks them*
Fun Fact 2: “Are you trying to be cool” is kind of a reference to what Pugsley asked Lucas in the Addams Family Musical.
Fun Fact 3: Sam L. Hilliard is a slight recurring character in the 60s show (he was named Mr. Hiller in the 90s version, but he’s not Sammy boi I don’t care), appearing in 3 episodes (including the pilot where he gets Weds and Pugs to go to school). And let me tell you, he’s like my fav. I wished he was more of a recurring character. He’s hilarious. He’s a great foil for the Addamses. The best straight man who loses it. I needed more of him. I want this man to know no rest. I want him to suffer. I love him. TT0TT Anyway he was originally a truant officer, turned wannabe politician, turned head of a school board, turned headmaster of a private school.
Time for the intermission

                                            Wednesday Season 2:
                                           Hyde in the Shadows
                                      Episode 2B: A Woeful Reunion
Enid was pacing the room; a few hours had passed since Wednesday had fainted.
“Is she ok? Do you think she’s ok?” Enid asked Thing.
Thing only gave her a shrug in response.
Her eyes bulged nearly out of her socket, “I bet she didn’t eat or drink at all while she was locked up! Did she get something after we parted ways?”
Thing tapped in affirmation.
That didn’t calm Enid down in the slightest, “Then maybe her body hasn’t recovered
”
She’ll be fine, her body should’ve recovered from that by now, Thing signed.
“Well, one that doesn’t make sense, it’s only been a few hours!” Well nothing has really been making any sense these past two days, she thought.
“And, two, then why isn’t she still up?”
Enid’s pacing had increased to the point that Thing feared there would be a rut formed on Wednesday’s side of the floor. He hopped down from Wednesday’s desk and attempted to shake her awake.
“Wait! Don’t! She might need more rest!” Enid protested.
Thing waggled his body at her in defiance.
“I mean yeah, I’d like to know if she’s ok, but maybe she’s been unconscious because she’s tired? So shouldn’t we let her rest?” Enid whined.
Thing shook his wrist, knowing there was no way he could please his werewolf friend.
A few more moments passed, as Enid paced the room. As Thing stayed by Wednesday’s side, his fingers resting on her shoulder, he felt her stir beneath him and he scurried away. Upon noticing the movements herself, Enid rushed to her friend’s side.
Wednesday opened her eyes, unfocused as she attempted to look around her room. When she turned her head she was practically nose to nose with her overly enthusiastic roommate, and jerked away.
“Enid!” Wednesday eyes were alarmed and she practically fell off the bed in shock.
“Sorry! Sorry,” Enid backed away from the bed apologetically, “Space I get it.”
Wednesday looked at the vicinity of Enid, unable to look at her directly for whatever reason, and only relaxed an iota of a bit when she realized Enid wouldn’t come near her.
She then proceeded to look around at their room, as if looking for something; or at the very least, trying to avoid looking at a certain pink cladded wolf.
Her eyes made their way to the window, which she stared at for a long moment.
“How long was I out?” Wednesday’s eyes widened a fraction, only noticing now how dark it had gotten.
“A few hours,” Enid responded, fiddling with something on her wrist. Unable to hold her question back she blurted out, “What was it about?”
“What was ‘what’ about?” Wednesday responded, stiff, and still not looking at her roommate.
“The vision! You had a vision then- Boom! You’re out cold! Is it bad? Is something bad going to happen?”
Enid had a good reason to worry, when Wednesday had visions they tended not to be of the happy persuasion. Never about rainbows and puppies. They were usually about murders, or gruesome attacks.
Wednesday finally glanced at Enid then looked away, her eyes widened slightly and her mouth slightly parted, “Oh, I don’t remember,” she lied.
Enid furrowed her brow, that look on her roommate’s usually immobile face wasn’t a common occurrence, but it usually meant something made her uncomfortable. Thankfully for Enid, those tend to mean it was fairly benign. Which meant, whatever Wednesday saw, was probably not very gruesome
. For once.
“Nothing bad happened?” Enid looked at her hopefully.
“No,” Wednesday said quickly, a look of intense discomfort on her face.
“I mean-yes,” she stammered trying to correct herself upon seeing Enid’s face go from elated to pale. “I don’t actually remember the vision itself, but I don’t think it was bad.”
Enid let out a sigh of relief. She was a bit concerned Wednesday couldn’t remember why she had fainted, but if the vibe was that it was not earth shatteringly horrible, well, Enid could live with that.
Thing jumped onto Wednesday’s bed and nudged her knee. Wednesday knitted her brow and reached out to him, only to stop and stare at her own hand.
Both Thing and Wednesday’s hands were covered in bandages, the former in various cute designs and the latter in black. Wednesday touched her forehead, and a bandage was also found where she had cut herself from her headbutt.
“When-”
“Oh! That was me. I patched you both up while you were unconscious. Don’t worry, I bought those bandages specifically for you, I know you have a brand to maintain,” Enid winked.
Wednesday jerked her chin up in a short ‘thank you’ nod, and swung her legs over the side of her bed. She got up only to see her vision going black and tumbled back onto the bed.
Enid started hovering worried for her friend, “Are you ok?”
“I’m fine, still tired I suspect,” Wednesday said, rubbing her eye.
Enid didn’t like how Wednesday looked. The girl always looked half dead, but now she feared the half alive part was on its way into the grave as well. Wednesday looked like she hadn’t slept for months.
Fearing for her friend’s health, she decided to take matters into her own hands.
“That’s it! You stay here, I’ll handle detention by myself!”
“I’m going Enid, no buts.”
Enid started pushing Wednesday back down into her bed and pulling the cover over Wednesday.
“What are you doing?!” Wednesday’s face darkened as she tried to resist the supernaturally strong werewolf and was losing much to her annoyance.
“You’re going to rest! I’ll tie you down if I have to! Thing get some rope!”
“Thing, don’t you dare!”
Thing was shuffling from side to side, looking back and forth between the two girls, unsure of what to do.
“I just got out of my confinements and you want to put me back in another one?!” Wednesday growled at Enid. Normally Wednesday wouldn’t be opposed to being tied up, but she was a little burnt out because of the last few weeks’ events.
Enid’s eyes widened, realizing what she meant, and let Wednesday go.
“You’re right, that’d be totes rude,” Enid said to herself, then addressed Thing, “Plus she’d be wide open if Friday tried something again.”
Thing nodded at Enid in agreement.
Wednesday finally sat back up in a huff, a new look of frustration on her face. She didn’t like people thinking she needed looking after.
Enid turned to Wednesday, “That’s it, you’re coming with me! Now buts!”
Wednesday suppressed an eyeroll at her friend’s 180 attitude turn.
“Regardless of what you wanted, I was going into those woods with or without you.”
“Why are you so dead set on going out into the creepy woods in the middle of the- never mind. I answered my own question.”
Wednesday sighed, “Because, I know you, you wouldn’t last in the woods at night by yourself. You’ll bunker down somewhere until morning and then come running back to me crying saying how scared you were.”
Enid's eyes glistened at her roommate, touched, “Oh, so it’s because you care about me?”
“Because I don’t want to deal with your whining. And I don’t want to get in more trouble for the work not being done.”
And wasting more time, Wednesday thought, as she looked at her satchel on the floor.
“And because you care about me, right?”
Wednesday got up from her bed and walked over to her dresser, ignoring the intense puppy eyes Enid was giving her.
“We better get going, it’ll be easier to find this place while there’s still some light out, no?” Wednesday started putting on her black leather jacket, and a pair of leather gloves.
“Aw,” Enid bemoaned and Wednesday looked back at her roommate.
“What now?”
“N-nothing,” Enid looked away pouting, burying her face in her new scarf, and kicking the ground lightly, “It’s just
. Those are different gloves.”
Wednesday sighed, “The gloves you made me will surely be ruined if I dug with them, and I want to avoid that.”
Enid stopped, and then a smile broke out as she unwrapped her scarf, happy to see Wednesday taking more care of her gift this time around.
“Good idea! I don’t want to get this dirty either!”
The girls turned to their respective sides of the room, grabbing the correct clothes for their excursion. With their signature respected colors of course, pink for Enid and black for Wednesday.
Wednesday dug her cellphone out of her luggage, and after looking at it, snuck her cellphone into her pocket when Enid wasn’t looking.
***~***
“Why can’t Thing come?” Enid whined, “I even made him a little glove-outfit-thing to keep warm!”
“I’m leaving him behind to keep look-out.”
“So, a certain you-know-who doesn’t mess with our stuff?” Enid assumed Wednesday’s chaotic, prankster of a cousin might not be through with them just yet.
Wednesday didn’t elaborate so Enid dropped it.
Despite Thing not being with them, Enid was practically beaming with how giddy she was, even skipping with each step she took. A girls’ night with Wednesday!
Sure, it was detention, but Enid wasn’t going to sweat the small details. At least Enid wasn’t tricked into breaking into a creepy mansion with a third wheel like last time; where she almost died on top of it, so this was definitely an improvement on their last attempt.
Wednesday stared at the energetic blonde, “What are you so happy about?”
“Just glad we get to hang out is all, it’s been a rough week,” Enid sighed, and then got nervous, “I mean, yours was probs worse, being held captive and all and- Do you mind if I asked what happened?” She remembered how odd, well, odd to non-Addames that is, the Addams were acting, “Do you normally try to kill each other?”
Wednesday sighed, she really didn’t want to get into this, “I’m guessing this isn’t a normal thing for your family as well?”
“No, we very much like to be alive.”
There was a long silence.
“So, is it for fun? For Malice? Or is there a reason for it?” Enid asked, unsure if this was a touchy subject or not, or even how to make this conversation some semblance of normal.
“Very fun, usually,” Wednesday said with a small spark in her eye, “But none of us actually end up dying.
.” Wednesday trailed off.
“That’s
. Good?” Enid tried to smile at Wednesday, unsure if this ‘good’ is by Wednesday's standards or not. Wednesday didn’t respond. Enid’s head began to whirl with other questions she had for her roommate.
Judging by how Friday was acting, and Wednesday’s parents' words, it seemed that Wednesday was cooped up in some room and wasn’t interacting with anyone. Which miffed Enid off a little, because Enid understood having to spend time with family, but then to blow them and your BFF off?
But Wednesday had still kept in touch over the break, and even took the time to make her own present. So, Enid couldn’t be too upset.
Ok Ens, take a chill pill. Maybe she has a reason? Enid thought to herself, She is introverted, and hates large groups, maybe that extends to family too? I mean if I had Friday as a cousin, I might want to steer clear too
..
No, no, don’t be rude! Argh, I don’t think I can ask her directly, maybe if I go a roundabout way
.
Then Enid remembered something Friday said.
“So, what was that sĂ©ance thing your cousin mentioned about?”
Wednesday’s jaw tensed, and Enid got nervous that maybe that question was a little too direct, but relaxed when Wednesday responded.
“I was trying to contact Goody.”
I should’ve known it was about Goody, Enid sighed inwardly.
Good Addams was Wednesday’s ancestor from hundreds of years ago, she was the one who originally defeated Crackstone when he was alive. Crackstone was a racist who tried to kill all the outcasts way back when. He was the same the racist pilgrim ghost that wrecked their school last year.
Wednesday told Enid how she was stabbed by Crackstone and almost died, but thanks to channeling Goody, her wounds healed and Wednesday was able to recover and defeat him. The exchange was that Wednesday wouldn’t be able to contact Goody again.
Enid knitted her brow together, “So did you?”
Wednesday sighed, resigned, “No.”
“What did you want to talk with her about?”
“I just wanted to see if she had any useful tips to help me with my visions,” Wednesday said in finality.
Enid could tell Wednesday didn’t have anything more to say on the matter, Enid wondered if that was all Wednesday did over the break. Though, for all Enid knew, the world of conjuring might’ve been a very in depth field that might take months of research, so she’d let it drop
. Kind of.
She still had questions, things Wednesday didn’t mention in her letter she wanted to know about.
“Soooo, it looks like a lot’s changed since we last saw each other!” she prodded again.
Wednesday looked at the blonde out of the corner of her eye, her hair had gotten longer, but what stood out to Wednesday was the longer bangs she put on her left side. It framed Enid’s face in a way that covered up the scars the taller girl had gotten from her fight with Tyler, the infamous Hyde, two months prior; or at least, it covered up small imperfections the makeup couldn’t conceal.
“Yes, it seems there’s been a lot,” Wednesday tried to manage her voice, ignoring the sour taste rising in her mouth. If Enid hadn’t had to save her from Tyler, she wouldn’t have gotten those scars in the first place.
“Totally! You have a baby brother now, right?” Enid beamed at Wednesday, curiosity billowing out of her, “When did that happen, was it before you transferred? Cause your mom didn’t look preggers during your last move-in day or parent visitor day! Or is she one of those people who doesn’t show?”
Wednesday could feel her mood lighten from Enid’s energetic energy, it made her want to tease her a bit, “Let’s just say there was a very short gestation period.”
Wait, does she mean that she was pregnant at some point when I last saw her?! Enid’s smile began to falter as she did the math.
She was at the school for about two months, so was it two months? Or maybe it happened before and Mrs. Addams just didn’t show? Or was the baby just born over the break so maybe four-ish months?
Well Wednesday has visions, and apparently so does her mom. And her cousin can just
. defy gravity. So maybe this just isn’t that out there? These thoughts made Enid’s head swirl, and her eyes started to spin.
Wednesday smirked at her befuddled friend, “And what about you? How does it feel to finally be able to wolf-out with your family?”
“G-great! L-like I said before! Just great! Mom’s finally gotten off my back about it, but you know her-haha. She instantly found something new to criticize and got right back on,” Enid laughed nervously, and started tugging and fidgeting at her prominent bang.
Wednesday frowned, which deepened when she noticed what was hanging from Enid’s left wrist.
“What’s that?” Wednesday asked, knowing full well what it actually was.
“Hm? Oh this?” Enid showed Wednesday her small charm bracelet, it had tiny wolves and in between each wolf was either a sun or a moon, “It’s a gift from Ajax, you know the one I wrote you about?”
“Ah, I see.”
“It’s cute, isn’t it?”
“Whatever you say Enid.”
“Oh c’mon, you can at least say it’s cute!” Enid pouted and then mumbled, “You don’t even have to mean it
.”
“It’s cute.”
Enid glared at Wednesday, who just stared pointedly back at her. Then Enid slowly stretched into a big, goofy grin.
“Haha, I got you to say the word ‘cute!’ I didn’t think that was in your vocabulary T-B-H,” Enid laughed while it was Wednesday’s turn to glare at her.
Wednesday decided it was time to give her bubbly friend the silent treatment, and pushed forward. Enid, still laughing, followed.
Another long silence extended between the girls as they made their way through the darkening woods. It would’ve been near suicidal what they were doing, if this took place last semester.
Last semester, where the town was plagued with a monster who went around killing people. A Hyde. But there were no more monsters in Jericho. Well
. Not ones that resided outside the school that is.
Snap.
“What was that?!” Enid half screamed, grabbing the crook of Wednesday’s elbow, ready to get them both out of there.
“It was only an owl, Enid,” Wednesday stated as calmly as she could, trying to ignore the sudden warmth on her arm, and began pulling the scaredy werewolf back towards their destination.
“A-are you sure?” Enid had one hand extended, with her claws out, ready to swipe at anyone who tried anything funny.
“Hoo hoo,” the animal cried.
“O-oh, so it is, I-I knew that!”
Enid fully linked her arm with Wednesday, and kept a look out of their rear while Wednesday pulled them along.
***~***
Snow started to flitter down when they arrived at the cemetery.
“Well, this is
. far out of the way for a cemetery,” Wednesday mumbled.
“Yeah,” Enid agreed. She hadn’t noticed just how far it was from the school, since she was so concerned about Wednesday and Thing’s safety at the time. It was a wonder why refilling these graves would even be that big of a priority, considering it wasn’t that likely any Normie from Jericho would wander out this far.
Snap.
Another hoot of an owl resonated nearby.
Enid jumped, then quickly extended her claws out and ran over to a nearby mound, “The faster we get this done the faster we can head back!”
Wednesday smirked to herself while she grabbed a stray shovel, it was amusing to see such a powerful creature also prove to be a giant scaredy cat.
Both girls got to work, it was tedious and boring. It was Wednesday’s least favorite part when it came to gravedigging, and she didn’t even get a chance to dig these graves up!
Enid was working in overdrive, the creepiness of the cemetery was slowly getting to her, and all her bravado from earlier in the night was nearly gone.
Enid looked over at Wednesday to see how she was holding up. She could feel her breath catch in her throat, as she looked at how the moonlight danced off of Wednesday’s frame. Her pale skin seemed to glow, and her raven hair seemed to capture and scatter the moon’s rays, giving her hair a milky way effect.
Pretty, Enid thought as she looked at Wednesday with starstruck eyes. The last time she felt like this was at the Rave’N dance, where Wednesday wore an amazing dress, trying to ignore the fact she did that for Tyler.
Sure, unlike at the dance where she was all dressed up, Wednesday here was covered in mud, and looked like she hadn’t slept in months, but it still didn’t diminish her classically good looks. At least in Enid’s mind.
Enid watched as she gracefully shoveled some dirt back into a grave.
Ah?! “Graceful?” Listen to yourself Enid! We’re in a graveyard, you sound like a weirdo, she thought, shaking her head violently.
A-and when did it get so hot? I’m burning up here, ah my face is warm. Get a hold of yourself! Ah, I need a distraction!
“Hey Wednesday!” Enid yelled, breaking the working silence.
“What Enid?” Wednesday asked, taking a second to wipe some grime off her arm.
“I’ve been wondering
.”
“Wondering what?”
“Does your family really like the days of the week?”
“No? Why?” Wednesday stopped for a moment to look at Enid, confused.
Enid hopped over to another hole, “Well you’re Wednesday, and you have a cousin named Friday. So like, do you have a secret half-sister named Monday too?”
“Distant cousin, actually,” Wednesday said, smirking to herself.
“What?!” Enid yelled, poking around her tombstone.
“And no, we don’t just arbitrarily like the names for the days of the week. Our mothers just love the poem ‘Monday’s child.’”
Enid stopped to think of the poem in her mind, and then attempted to think back at the calendar dates in the year Wednesday was born, “So does that mean you were born on a Wednesday?”
“No, it was a Friday.”
“Oh I see,” nodded as if she understood, then wrinkled her face in confusion when she remembered Wednesday agreeing that ‘Friday was a bad name.’ “So your middle names tend to be based off of the day you were born? Then what about the first names?”
“Yes, for the girls at least. As for the first name, I believe it’s what our mother’s like what that day means in the poem, at least it’s like that for me.”
“Then what’s Monday’s and Friday’s middle name?”
“Tuesday, and that’s a secret.”
“Of course it is,” Enid pouted.
Wednesday looked out of the corner of her eye, and upon seeing Enid sulking over to a nearby hole she spoke up, “My mother’s middle name is ‘Sunday.’”
Enid’s ears perked up, “Hm ‘Sunday?’ Oh! Like Domi-”
Wednesday glared at her roommate, and Enid realized she may have made a connection Wednesday didn’t want to make about her mother and the book series she was writing.
“D-d-dominos! Cause you guys are black and white like a domino,” Enid horribly tried to cover up. Wednesday relaxed and decided to let it slide.
Enid scurried to the next hole, but tripped on a nearby rock she missed with her flashlight. She landed face first into an undisturbed grave. She placed her hand on the tombstone, attempting to use it as leverage, but the muck under the fresh sleet of snow caused her to slip and face plant right back into the ground.
“What are you doing over there Enid?” Wednesday asked.
“Oh you know. Struggling!” Enid grunted in frustration.
“Do you need help?” Wednesday quickly asked, not catching the sarcastic tone in Enid’s words. Enid could hear Wednesday placing her shovel down, about to run over to her.
“No! No, I’m fine I’m just-” Enid stopped mid-sentence as she looked at the tombstone that failed her support and recognized something familiar. She wiped away the muck and snow on the tombstone. Her eyes widened as it revealed a familiar name.
“H-hey! Wednesday!”
“What Enid?” Paused her resumed shoveling, some concern seeping into her voice.
“Your name is spelt with two ‘Ds,’ right?”
“Yes,” the concern was now gone, annoyance replacing it. She picked up her shovel and proceeded to resume her punishment.
“And ‘Goody’ is spelt with two ‘Os,’ right?”
Wednesday stopped, she was deathly still, “Why?”
“So uh, big ol’ coinkydink, I may have found her grave!”
Wednesday quickly sprinted to Enid’s side, and shone her flashlight at the grave.
Goody Addams. 1609-1641. Founder and Protector.
Wednesday shone her flashlight at the other graves as well. Most of the ones they could read, showed either an outcast label or even a last name that was lycan-ish or other outcastian descending names.
“Are these graves of old outcasts?” Enid murmured.
“Explains why it’s so far out of the way,” Wednesday spat bitterly. Even in death the outcasts were ostracized from the others.
“Well what do we do now?”
“Nothing we can do, except fill these graves up,” It was getting colder out, Wednesday would have to return here at a later time to investigate.
Wednesday was about to resume what she was doing when Enid broke out her claws and slashed the ground at Goody’s grave.
“What are you doing?” Wednesday asked, surprised.
“Well, I thought, ‘Wednesday’s been trying to contact her, maybe if we dug this up, it might help!’ Not that I know anything about conjuring the dead,” Enid gave Wednesday a sheepish grin, “Plus I promised some graverobbing, right? It wouldn’t hurt to dig up just one grave and then refill it, riiiight?”
Wednesday stared at Enid for a long time, and then gave her a mischievous smirk, “You know me a lot better than I thought.”
Enid beamed at Wednesday.
“Now move over, I’m not letting you have all the fun.”
Each girl took a side of the grave, one at the top and one at the bottom. With their teamwork, it wasn’t long until they got to the casket.
Wednesday tried to pry it open, but it was nailed too tightly. Enid hopped down and gave it a good tug with just her left hand, breaking the nails along with something else. She then hopped back out of the hole to give Wednesday room to breathe.
“What are you hoping to get out of this?” Enid asked, hands in front of her face, but still peering through the cracks in her fingers out of morbid curiosity. Now that she was getting close to seeing a dead body, she was getting a bit of cold feet.
“A token, some hair, or an object she was buried with.”
“What’ll that do?”
“Make the connection stronger, hopefully.”
Wednesday positioned herself and wrenched the casket open. Dust and death flew from the casket, making Enid’s sensitive nose go in a tizzy and causing her to gag. Wednesday just inhaled greedily.
Inside was a skeleton, she was slightly longer than Wednesday had seen in her visions from last year, possibly a growth spurt? The grave did say she was 32 when she died.
The skeleton was in an offset white gown and with a brown splotch in the middle. It held in its hand an extravagantly encrusted knife and sheath.
“Did you find anything?” Enid called down to Wednesday.
“Yeah, I think I found a knife!” Wednesday took one of her gloves off, touching the jewel to see if it was real.
“Well hurry up and grab it! It’s getting colder out,” Enid yelled through shuddering teeth.
She didn’t need to tell Wednesday twice. Without thinking, Wednesday quickly reached for the knife with her bare hand and pulled it away from the skeleton.
“Ouch,” Wednesday winced, her hand cut itself on one of the ruby jewels on the hilt. It caused a few trickles of blood to fall down her hand.
When Wednesday turned around to climb out of the hole, she realized it had disappeared. Along with Enid. Along with the rest of the world.
Wednesday was faced with total darkness.
“Enid?” Wednesday looked around, trying to not let worry seep into her voice.
There was nothing but black all around, Wednesday took a step forward and heard the sound of water.
She looked down at her feet. It was as if she was walking on a giant slab of perfectly even and smooth obsidian rock, but it had a thin layer of water evenly spaced on its surface.
“Enid! Where are you?” Wednesday called out but was met with only her own echo and the sound of dripping water.
Wednesday kept looking around but was only met with shadow and darkness. She wondered if this was a vision, but it was nothing like she’d ever experienced before.
Then she heard it, the sound of water rushing her at her. It sounded like it was coming from behind, and Wednesday bolted in the opposite direction of the noise.
No matter how fast she ran, it felt like she didn’t move, the darkness was never ending as the tidal wave bounded behind her. She tried looking back in an attempt to see her impending doom, but she was met with only darkness, even when she could feel the water just nipping at her heels.
The small licks of the water kept teasing her back, until the entire wall hit her like a truck and was taken over.
Wednesday was flung all around within the current, she struggled against it, trying to find her way to the surface, but couldn’t. She was slowly losing oxygen, unable to breath until-
She was spat out. She coughed and spluttered, trying to set her vision right. It took her a moment to realize that she was once again surrounded by color.
She was finally pulled out of her stupor by a high pitch scream. She whipped her head to the side to see where it was coming from.
It was a very familiar girl, who was about Wednesday’s age, her hands were outstretched as if she was pushing against something very hard.
A few yards across from her stood a giant pilgrim, he was looking around trying to see how he could get out of the wall of fire that was surrounding him. Wednesday’s eyes widened when she realized it was Joseph Crackstone.
“Goody Addams!” Crackstone boomed, “Stop now, and you will not be damned a witch!”
The young girl only roared at him, and the fire drew in closer.
Wednesday got up and approached the duo. She saw Goody’s Book of Shadows laying by her feet, the page open displaying the words ‘Blood Seal.’ Goody’s hands shook and wavered, blood billowing from the slash marks on her palms.
“I will not be fooled by your empty words Crackstone! You will suffer the same way you killed my family and friends!”
Crackstone growled at the girl, “You can’t kill me Goody! I know what the dead are like, I’ve read your book! I’ll find a way to come back! And then I’ll hunt you all down! I’ll destroy you and all your kin!”
“Not with this you won’t! This blood lock will seal you away for good!” Goody clenched her fists into her wound, more blood trickled down her arm and floated towards Crackstone and the flames.
The fire started licking Crackstone, he howled in agony, “Even so! My kin will carry on my will! None of you will be safe!”
Goody screeched, as she pulled her arms inward, and the fire started to draw in closer to Crackstone, consuming him. His flesh started to sear and melt off his bones.
“Blood will rain, Goody Addams! Blood will rain, WHEN I RISE!” Crackstone bellowed with laughter as he burned. He was still laughing as the flames overtook him.
The fire vanquished when Goody dropped to her knees, gasping for air.
“Not if I have anything to say about it,” she spat at the nearly fleshless skeleton in front of her.
Wednesday took a step forward towards Goody, but was blindsided with another wall of water. Instead of being carried away over a distance like the first time, she instead was knocked over, into a new scene.
It looked like a war meeting in an underground bunker. Outcasts of various creeds gathered around a table with a map and little trinkets, some most likely representing their side and an enemies’.
“If we don’t reinforce our defenses on the left wall soon, we’ll be open for another attack,” The white hair blonde woman slammed her fist on the table. It was an older Goody.
Another woman, brown hair and dressed in black stepped forward, but then the vision got blurry and distorted, until the scene got situated again, almost flashing forward.
“We’ll make the preparations,” one of the male outcasts stated before walking out with a handful of others.
“Goody, you should rethink this,” the brown-haired woman said.
“I can’t, not when someone has to protect us,” she slammed the jewel encrusted knife down onto the table, piercing the map before walking away.
Another wave of water hit Wednesday, and yet again the scene changed.
Now she saw the older Goody, on her knees and bloodied. A black cloaked figure stood above her, one hand around her throat, the other hand wielded the same knife from the previous vision.
“T-traitor,” Goody gurgled out with some blood, her hands, also bloodied, were clawing at the figure’s arm.
Wednesday watched black figure swing its knife down piercing Goody’s chest, but when it collided, Wednesday clutched her chest as if she felt it too.
The shock of the knife hitting her caused her to close her eyes from the pain, and as if the pain wasn’t enough, her head began to split as a flood of memories and visions flooded into her head.
Every vision she ever had, every interaction with Goody and Crackstone. With Tyler. With Laurel Gates. Memories of her family, of the last semester. Her head felt like it was going to explode, and she wasn’t sure if the high pitch screaming noise was coming from a vision or from herself.
Suddenly, one memory cut through all the rest making them white noise, one of Wednesday’s worst.
“You'll use anyone to get what you want, even if it means putting them in danger!” Her memory of Enid hurled at her. The blow of what she said hurt Wednesday more than the knife that went through Goody’s heart.
Wednesday gasped for air, and forcibly wrenched her eyes open, not wanting to see any more of that scene.
When they opened, she saw the dark and cold night sky, no longer the endless black depths she was trapped in.
She was sprawled across her dead ancestors’ skeleton, gasping for air. Completely disoriented, she jolted when she felt a weight on her shoulder, shaking her and flicking at her. She turned her head to the side, it was Thing.
“Thing! What are you- you’re supposed to be-,” she began to ask, but stopped when she saw his panicked dancing and pointing at the sky, “Enid!”
Wednesday sat up, threw the knife into her bag, grabbed Thing, and started pulling her numb body out of the grave. She looked around, but didn’t see Enid within the vicinity, “Enid!” She scream-whispered, unable to bring her voice to full shout just yet.
She threw her glove on, ignoring the pain as it raked against her new wound, and fumbled with her flashlight in her numb fingers.
As she looked around, instead of finding Enid, she found the grounds of a battlefield. Large gashes were made in the grounds, trees, and tombstones nearby.
“Enid!” Wednesday shouted louder, she was breathing heavier by the second, she couldn’t find her friend. She frantically kept spinning in place trying to find a clue as to where Enid could be.
This can’t be her doing, it‘s nowhere near a full moon. And without the ability to wolf out, Enid wouldn’t be able to protect herself. Wednesday thought, her head swirling.
“You'll use anyone to get what you want, even if it means putting them in danger!” The memory of Enid yelling rushed through her head again.
Wednesday felt her heart beating faster. It’s my fault if she’s hurt again. We wouldn’t be out here if I-
Thing brought her out of her panic for a moment, tapping on her shoulder and pointing towards a deeper part of the forest.
The trees looked like they had been broken down and formed a circle, like something giant had rolled or drilled its way through them. Wednesday forced her frozen legs to start moving forward, and followed her way into the forestry cavern.
The deeper she went she would whisper out Enid’s name, afraid to alert whatever attacked them in case it was nearby.
Finally, Wednesday got to what appeared to be the end of the wreckage, and lying in the middle of the creature made alcove was an odd mound on the floor. A body.
Wednesday flooded her flashlight over the body, unable to breathe, “Enid?”
The light found its way to the top of the body, a matt of blonde hair. But what shook Wednesday to her core, were the red clothes Enid was wearing.
Because Enid wasn’t wearing red that night.

A/N: Now did Weds face darken because she was angry, or blushing, or both? 030
For the tumblr crowed: Ah-ha! I wasn’t lazy/busy this time and posted it on Sat like I promised! TT0TT
You know, this story was originally going to take place the next fall semester (aka the next school year), then I realized that in canon it’d been the next spring semester (like a month or two later). And I forgot I already wrote Pubert in lkdsajfl;kajf TT0TT Luckily I was already going to make an abnormally short gestation (for humans) joke, so I’m just rolling with it here klfajsald;kjfksjdaf This mf is alive in this universe, I don’t care if Wedn is lying (and we just didn’t see him in S1 for reasons) or not.
Goody’s birthdate and death date is based off of the 1625 date we have in canon and assuming she’s 16, like Wednesday, during that time frame. After that it’s just addition and subtraction.
The play was pretty good, it was a middle school version (didn’t know going into it), it was cute. I think it was easier to sit through that source material when it’s kids doing it because I can be like “oh it’s what a kid thinks Addams Family is like!” rather than “A grown ass adult made this and completely misunderstood the source material.” So uh
.if you ever watch it, watch the kid version of it. (sadly it does cut the only Addams-y jokes
..and Gomez scenes. TT0TT)
Oh! I also got both 60s tie in novels, so let's see how fast I can blast through them and add to the references. 8U (gonna play the new Slime Rancher 2 update first tho u_u)
Fun Fact 1: In WEDNESDAY, it’s hinted that Wednesday’s character Viper is based off of Wednesday herself, and Dominica is based off of Morticia. Dominica is latin for “sunday” and thus
. My theory and joke in this fanfic is Morticia’s full name (first, middle, maiden, last) is “Morticia Sunday Frump Addams”
Fun Fact 2: Friday’s middle name is a “secret” because untangling the damn timeline in WEDNESDAY hurts. ;w; “Oh but it’s 2022” you don’t understand, there’s conflicting info. And I am very sad. ;fldksfjf Absolute pain. I’ve watched this show 30 times more than I should’ve (you think I’m joking I’m not TT0TT) and I’m still confused.
Fun Fact 3: In the 90s live action tv show remake (of the 60s show), there is a cousin named Monday Jones. They will (most likely) not be appearing in this (if I can control myself), I’ll make references to her from time to time. Maybe she’ll appear in a short story. Her personality is more like Nicole Fugere (Addams Family Reunion and 90s TV Remake) and of course Monday Jones (I read those iterations as a tad bit more sadistic versions of post-90s Wednesday if that helps).
Fun Fact 4: ‘Was born on a Tuesday’ joke was made in the Addams Family 2 animated movie, obvie can’t work with Wednesday cause she was born on a Friday the 13th in WEDNESDAY (bonus facts: the 60s ver mentions her middle name is Friday too, can’t remember if they mentioned her also being born on a Friday, I think the 70s show claims she was born on the 13th? Or she was experiencing her 13th birthday hard to tell the candles didn’t match up). So yeah I gave Tuesday to Monday Jones instead.
Anyway, see you next week for the next episode~! ;w;/

one of my favorite things about twilight is how in midnight sun edward is telling emmett about bella when they first meet and how she just smells so delicious and alluring and he can’t control himself etc

It’s on my to-do list to provide a chapter summary as I read (because there’s no gosh darn info about this from what I can find!), and then a full review when I finish (I plan on reviewing other Addams Family stuff too).

                                        Wednesday Season 2:
                                       Hyde in the Shadows
Episode 2 Intermission 3: Puppeteering Artist
Pugsley sprawled himself across his new dorm bed, unsure of what to do. It was his first time transferring to a boarding school, and he wasn’t used to being away from his mother and father.
He was happy though, he at least had his sister, as well as his cousin to lean on if needed. Even if he had been trying to become less soft and more independent, as not to bother his sister as often.
He turned his head and saw Lady Fingers, a female disembodied hand who was an associate of his family, crawling up his bookshelf to investigate his books.
Well at least I have Thing and Lady Fingers to fall back on too, Pugsley quietly thought to himself. He’d feel less guilty having the two helping hands well
help him out.
Pugsley turned his head back to the ceiling. Thinking back on his past few years, and how he’d let himself be a pushover for bullies. How they shoved him into lockers, beat him up, used him as a punching bag, shoved him into lockers, force fed him disgusting pink cookies, made him oink like a pig, and shoved him into lockers.
Pugsley was very happy there were no lockers at Nevermore. That was one less thing for him to worry about.
That’s it, this year’s the year! I’m not going to drag Wednesday down! I’m not going to get bullied! I’m going to make a friend!
Pugsley sat up onto his bed and looked down determined.
I’m going to do it! I’m going to show everyone just how charming and awesome I can be! I’m going to- I’m going to
. I’m hungry. He thought tiredly as he flopped back down onto his bed.
It wasn’t his fault he felt like he was always hungry. He was a growing boy after all!
Pugsley started closing his eyes from his lack of energy, and was almost asleep when-
BAM!
Pugsley sat up to the noise of something hitting the floor. He turned his head side to side, discombobulated.
He looked on the floor beside his roommate’s desk and saw Lady Fingers scurrying around a sketchbook and drawing papers, embarrassed she got caught.
Pugsley sighed in relief, “Lady Fingers, it’s rude to go through people’s things.”
Pugsley had learnt the hard way from going through Wednesday’s things once when they were little. Let’s just say one of his little piggies almost went wee wee wee all the way home, permanently.
He got up from his bed and walked over to the sketchbook and various loose papers to place it back on the desk.
He stopped when he noticed the drawings. They were of various animals and objects, and some people who Pugsley didn’t recognize.
Wow, he’s pretty good! He thought, impressed. Pugsley had never been very artistic, unlike his mother and father and sister.
He straightened out the loose papers, getting a look at each drawing as he picked them up. Excusing himself as admiring rather than being nosy.
He almost dropped all the papers when he picked up one of the last few and recognized someone on it. His sister.
Pugsley blinked. Sure, he had seen people’s portraits in the pile, but this one stood out to him more. Was it because it was his sister? Or because it looked like it was drawn with extra care?
Pugsley couldn’t tell but it bothered him.
He heard the door open behind him and fumbled with the remaining pictures and hurriedly shoved them onto the desk as neatly as he could.
Unable to move to his side of the room, he made it look like he was admiring the pictures that his roommate had hanging up.
Pugsley was met with a taller boy with long hair, he had dirt, sweat, and a few scrapes all over him.
“Oh! Hi, what are you doing here?” the taller boy asked, “You’re Pugsley, right? Wednesday brother?”
“Hello. Yes, I am Pugsley, I live here. Are you, my roommate?”
“I suppose I am!” Xavier exclaimed, a bit shocked, but quickly recovered with a smile. He held out his hand then pulled away slight when he realized it had grime all over it.
Pugsley put his hand out, not afraid of a little dirt and the two shook hands.
“I’m Xavier, Xavier Thrope. Welcome to Nevermore! Sorry I couldn’t introduce myself earlier.”
“I’m Pugsley Addams, it’s ok, I’m sorry I couldn’t introduce myself earlier either.”
Pugsley had to reign his inner fanboy in when he heard his roommate’s last name. It was the same last name as his favorite psychic: Vincent Trope. He had read Vincent’s book about a hundred dozen times he could practically quote it.
Stop it Pugsley, two unrelated people can have the same last name! Pugsley chastised himself.
Little did Pugsley know; Xavier was the son of his idol. And also unbeknownst to Pugsley, that same son’s gears were turning.
Xavier couldn’t help himself, in his head he hit the jackpot. Pugsley Addams as my roommate? Wednesday’s brother? Bingo.
His head was whirling with ideas on how to get on Pugsley’s good side. Because if he’s on Pugsley’s good side, he’s on Wednesday’s good side. And if he’s on Wednesday’s good side, then maybe they can be a bit more than friends.
The two boys lost in their own thoughts; didn’t realize they were shaking their hands for much longer than was required. Only separating when Lady Fingers began impatiently drumming her nails on the table, she sat herself on.
The two boys quickly let go of the shake and turned towards the lady hand.
“Um, this is Lady Fingers, she’s a longtime associate of our family.”
“Yeah, I’m a bit acquainted,” Xavier rubbed his jaw, “She gave me a mean left hook when I tried pulling her off of Thing earlier.”
Lady Fingers lifted her body up slightly, as if puffing out her nonexistent chest in pride.
“Well, she doesn’t look very sorry,” Xavier said, a little surprised by her brashness.
“She rarely ever is,” Pugsley said happily.
Xavier looked at the younger boy and where he was positioned, “Looking at my pictures?”
“Um, y-yeah, you are a very talented artist!”
Xavier failed to hide his own gloating grin; he was always happy to receive compliments.
“Do you want to see something cool?”
Before Pugsley could answer, Xavier took a small drawing he did of a horse and waved his hand over it. The picture on the paper slowly, but surely, pulled itself out of the page and into the real world.
The horse neighed, and then galloped around the room, before jumping back into the paper.
“Woah!” Pugsley stared at the paper in wonder, “How did you do that?!”
“It’s my own brand of psychic powers little guy, I can make pretty much any picture come to life!” Xavier boasted.
“Anything?”
“Anything!”
“Even bombs? Oh oh! Or grenades? Or Greek fire?!”
Xavier smile faltered, “Y-yeah, I can do that t-too!” Xavier was a little concerned now.
Pugsley beamed at Xavier in wonder, but it slowly dissipated as he looked back at Xavier’s desk. The picture of his sister was slightly poking out from the stack, slightly showing her face.
Xavier followed his gaze, eyes widening in panic, and blushing furiously as he tried to move the picture on his desk. It was just an innocuous drawing he decided to do one night, to see if he could remember Wednesday’s face by memory.
“Can you make pictures do anything?” Pugsley asked.
“Y-yeah” Xavier agreed quickly, happy to change the topic back to his powers.
“Even human pictures?” Pugsley eyed Xavier dubiously.
“Oh? Yeah!” Xavier exclaimed happily, thinking he was still showing off to Pugsley. He picked up a picture he did of Edgar Allen Poe from his wall, and made it wink at Pugsley.
Pugsley stared at the picture in stunned horror, and Xavier smiled thinking he’d blown Pugsley away.
“Hey, I can show you more later if you want, but I really need to take a shower,” he laughed, placing the portrait back on the wall and leaving through the nearby door into their bathroom.
Pugsley stared after Xavier for what felt like forever as he realized the danger of his roommate’s powers.
H-he could make a portrait of Wednesday do things she wouldn’t normally do! He cried in his head.
He could make her sing, and dance, give her a sunny disposition! Make her go to Disney World, twice! The boy’s thoughts started to spiral.
He could make her like puppies, and unicorns, and lollipops! He could even make her wear yellow! Pugsley started to sweat from the horror.
No! I won’t let that happen! I will defend her honor! I will defend her reputation! I will protect my sister from this scoundrel! I swear on the name of Addams! Pugsley clenched his fist in resolution as he glared at the bathroom door.
Lady Fingers looked upon the paling, yet resolute boy and front of her, and realized she would have her work cut out for her this semester.

A/N: Pugs is a good boy. uwu He doesn’t go through people’s things willy nilly unlike his sister. And RIP Xavier, get rekt. XP Pugsley does not approve. 8U
I’ll have you know, it started off as a silly thing, and then as I typed I realized the horror of Xavier’s power like towards the end of writing this chapter

..aaaaaaand I’m trying not to character assassinate him. He’s my least fav character on WEDNESDAY and I’m trying to not make him look bad klsadfj;a TT0TT But if someone wants to take what pandora’s box I’ve unleashed, y’all can write an extra slimy Xavier with horrific implications, more power to you. *sobs*
Personally I like the irony of Pugsley being obsessed with Xavier’s father and just not
..connecting that the two are related. And then Xavier is just oblivious thinking everything is all well and good. 8U It’s a bit hard to characterize Pugsley, he seems more like the 60s version, more normal with a macabre fascination, but also a bit more quiet. I like the sweet Pugsley, but I feel like my heart rests with the absolute feral creature of the comic strip/90s cartoon/2020s movies. u_u
Fun Fact: 60s Wednesday once painted a bunch of paintings that got put into an art museum. And Morticia (and iirc Gomez) like to sculpt/paint and do other artistic things. As for if they are artistic it’s
.up for debate. I’ve yet to see Pugsley partake in something like that (or at least as often), so that’s where that reference comes into play. (edit on tumblr, I thought she was put into an art museum, I think it was just a art critic that liked her....can’t remember if he wanted to put her stuff in a museum tho I’ll have to rewatch the ep)
Fun Fact 2: The ending part where Pugsley fears of Wednesday doing things she wouldn’t normally do, is a big ass reference to the Addams Family Musical. TT0TT Oh the inhumanity of what they do to my girl. ;w;
Personal Fun Fact: I’m actually on my way to going to the Addams Family Musical after I post this so klsajdfa;jf (edit for Tumblr cause I’m a dirty rotten scoundrel and also lazy sldjf;a TT0TT : Saw it, it was cute. It was a middle school play, which I kinda expected it might be one but wasn’t 100% sure, it’s interesting seeing the different versions of the play)

                                      Hyde in the Shadows
                     Episode 2 Intermission 2: Wednesday’s Letter #2
Dear Enid,
As I open yet another one of your letters, I feel as if I am being assaulted by sparkles and rainbows but in text form. I do not know how you do it, but your letters always come off as if they are screaming. But I suppose that is what makes them memorable.
As much as I love to learn, I feel that I may need to give you a crash course of your own. Both of you.
Very well I will not implicate you but do be prepared to be an accomplice in the near future. If caught, we can both perjure ourselves in front of the high court.
I will keep that in mind.
Charming, I am sure.
I will see what I can do, but I would not get your hopes up. These sorts of events tend to go on for a while and attendance is mandatory.
I noticed you forgot to include your full moon antics. I have always been curious about the mechanics of ‘wolfing out.’ Did anything happen while you transformed? Or did you kill someone and are trying to cover it up? Either way, your secrets are safe with me. The only thing I ask for in exchange is the gruesome details.
                                                                      Regards,
                                                                       Wednesday

A/N: Me writing Wednesday’s letters: It’s my business email voice! Standby for for a bonus episode dropping by later today~! ;D Also, I’m going to be changing up the intermissions juuuuuust a tad (they’ll be longer, and we’ll see the chars reactions)
What I think is funny with Wed and Enid is that: Wed is actually serious about crimes, and Enid is like “haha yeah sure” and not serious at all in what Wed is saying. I love a dipshit comedy routine. (but when it comes down to it, Enid is like “Gdi best friends help hide dead bodies!” kinda gal). I didn’t have a fun fact relating to THIS chapter, but I just watched another ep of the 60s show and found a similarity from a previous chapter! (Retrospective) Fun Fact 1: In the 60’s ep, Thing is Missing (spoilers for that ep btw), Thing goes missing and there’s a ransom for him. The ransom is in a cemetery, and when the person goes to drop off the ransom, they are met with a hand (just a hand) coming out of the ground (and taking the ransom). We don’t see it (I’m not sure if the 90s remake ep shows it atm, if it does, I’ll make another retrospective fun fact). (Unrelated) Fun Fact 2: Not related to what’s going on in this season (but is related to the above fun fact), but I thought it was cool. There’s a brushing scene at the beginning of the Thing Is Missing ep, and having watched the 70s sequel TV Movie, it also features that same brushing scene as a call back. Just thought the call back was cool. 8U

Ep 3 Intermission 3 (side story): Debating
Episode 4: Rough in progress
Might need to switch up the intermissions. It might be side stories instead of letters soon (until the last “episode”). I dunno, I’m debating. TT0TT

The rough for Episode 3 is almost done~! (around 20ish pages for each part).
Just need to clean it up and write the two intermissions....and start Episode 4. I really want to write a bonus intermission (which won’t take up a Saturday slot, it’s just a bonus chapter for that week), a short story type instead of a letter.
