golden lily is literally so funny because adrian is painting entire manifestos about how much he loves sydney and jill is basically simping over sydney because of the bond and eddie literally explains to sydney without realising it why adrian stopped taking self-defence classes with sydney and sonya at one point is like “speaking of being in love, let’s talk about adrian” but because the taboo over moroi/human relationships is so ingrained literally no one comes up with the obvious explanation

we got to know them both individidually before they even met each other and we saw how similar they were through small glances regardless of how they appeared to others and then we got a few crumbs of their first impressions of each other, then we had 6 books of their beautiful relationship developing and showing how it made them develop as individuals as well

all in all 11 books of them starting out lonely, then coincidentally finding each other, becoming friends, becoming best friends, falling in love and ending up being their best and happiest selves together

A large part of housecat vocalisation toward humans isn’t goal-directed communication, but rather, affiliative signaling: a simple call-and-response protocol which establishes that the participants are part of the same social unit. Amongst themselves, most housecat affiliative signaling is non-vocal, but humans aren’t really physiologically equipped to respond to such signalling in a feline fashion, and cats, well, they’re adaptable.

Which is to say that when your cat yells, and you yell back, so the cat yells again, and so forth, what you’re really saying to each other is “hiiiiii~”.

the good things i have to say about the VA show is that 1. the sets are GORGEOUS, 2. the cinematography is really good, some of the shots were awesome, 3. some more... difficult to like characters were made far more amenable (i’m thinking dimitri, who’s not insufferable like in the books, and mikhail and sonya, whose storyline is the most interesting one so far) 4. sisi is KILLING it as rose. 

but really.. that’s more or less it. i can see the bridgerton influence and i don’t mean that in a good way. the way they toned up the class struggles/political issues in general so much and so soon doesn’t really bode well in my opinion - what are they going to do in later seasons (if they happen)? i don’t care for sex in vampire academy, and they are really really turning the moroi irredeemable with having the non-guardian dhampir women as literal sex slaves. big nope from me.
