My favorite thing about Bilbo’s adventures is that there’s technically no “”canon”” version of Bilbo’s adventures.
Like The Hobbit– the book– is canonically a very biased account of events written by Bilbo himself. It’s also Canon that some of things Bilbo wrote were flat-out-lies (Ex. the original version of Riddles in the Dark, where Gollum willingly gives him the Ring as a gift.)
In the books Frodo also says that Bilbo “always jokes about serious things”, makes light of things that were actually important to him or hurt him. Which obviously also puts the bright, jokey tone of The Hobbit in a new light
So the question of…what really did happen, and what was its real effect on Bilbo? Is up in the air. And the only sources you have to piece it together are 1. a ridiculously biased account that’s mostly true but also contains who-knows-how-many lies and half-truths, told by an unreliable narrator aggressively determined to Laugh It All Off, and 2. a few random snippets, some that agree with Bilbo’s account and some that contradict them

I just finished watching the last Hunger Games movie.
And while I don’t think it’s the best written story of all time (and though I personally think the story would have worked just as well if not better if Gale were a brother or close platonic friend kinda like Finnick rather than fuel for a love triangle), I think the Hunger Games is an important story because of what it says about being human
That love--familial, platonic, romantic--is worth working for
That protecting those you love is more important than fighting those you hate (I appreciated those words in The Last Jedi, even though they weren’t used much in that story)
That choosing to remember something has great power, for good or ill
That there is always hope for better days ahead.
I'm glad that Katniss was able to, or to begin to, find healing. The nightmare that she faced ended, and she and Peeta have a whole life ahead of them to heal together and to learn to truly love. There’s always the future, and there’s always the now.
Even in the worst of times, we always have the choice to love.

My characters Vera and Noah.  Also, the manta ray’s name is Pancake.  I added a test page that I did last summer….which I’m not terribly fond of, but I guess I’ll just need to work on that some more. X)
Please do not post this on other sites. ;)

Hot Take
Barbie: Magic of Pegasus told basically the same story as Rise of Skywalker more coherently.
RoS is a mess in a lot of ways (though I will say there were several scenes that I personally loved), but I think one of the reasons it didn’t resonate well overall had to do with the way they handled the scene between Rey and the Emperor.
When Palpatine told her that if she killed him in hatred he’d win, she said, “All you want is for me to hate, but I won’t. Not even you.” But despite her feelings being in complete opposition to his plan, she somehow decided that her friends were toast and gave up anyway. After learning that the path of hatred was obstacle to her goal and knowing that it wouldn’t be worth joining the Emperor if her friends died, it doesn’t make any sense that she’d give up on fighting out of love.

On the other hand, Magic of Pegasus showed the protagonist struggling with a similar internal conflict, clearly established that it was Annika’s motivation of protection (rather than anger) that allowed her to use an external force of light for defense, and finished the story with a clear plot and character arc.

Yes, Rey was able to defeat Palpatine with all the Jedi on her side (which was great--I loved that), but the explanation of how she could access the light side of the force in defense was vague. Kylo Ren’s ‘I Need a Hero’ montage was sweet. If anything, it should have come before her declaration to give her a boost of inspiration. But if she had struck down the Emperor right after her above quote, with all the Jedi on her side and light in her heart despite the darkness threatening to suffocate her, her actions would have packed a much more solid punch. It takes a lot of strength to hold to love when surrounded by anger. That’s what the light side of the force is all about.
tldr: Barbie’s character was better developed than Rey’s and it’s a serious shame (especially considering the serious differences in budget for both films)

"There are no happily ever afters at the end of a story, because endings do not exist. All we have is a glimpse. All we can see is the middle part. There is always before and after, and happiness is not made of eternities but of moments." -from House of Stars, by Saltacuentos
What do you do when your world crumbles in front of you?
When those you care for can’t deliver--even if they want to?
When something--something that happened so fast--breaks things irreparably?
I guess...you keep going. Those loyal friends who are gone would want you to find happiness, even though this new future is so frighteningly uncertain. And who knows how many unseen viewers cheer for you, caring about your story, the good you do.
The series ended so quickly...but maybe that’s a good thing.
Because it really is just a glimpse.
You will keep living. Yes, an epoch of your life has come to a close. Yes, it will always be a part of your story. But it’s not the end. Not for you, not for the galaxy.
Not by a long shot.
There is still more waiting for you.

Thing I wanted to see in Clone Wars season 6:
At least one (1) moment of healthy communication between Anakin and Padme
Ahsoka hearing of corruption and helping people as best she can
Wholesome brother bonding time with Obi Wan and Anakin
A few clones unknowingly prepped to defy Order 66
THINGS I DID NOT WANT TO SEE IN CLONE WARS SEASON 6:
A JARJAR KISS SCENE WHAT THE HECK
My brain’s subconscious, shocked response was ♬ Ducktales, whooooooo ♬
Also, ANAKIN, if you can manage a secret marriage, I’m sure there’s SOME WAY you can find some sort of secret relationship therapy.

Watching Clone Wars and yeesh, I can see why the Jedi Order fell when (even without Palpatine) everyone on Coruscant and beyond seems to make supremely stupid decisions on a regular basis.
Like, 'Oh hey, let's fake Obi-Wan's death to send him undercover for a minor mission to protect the chancellor from possible danger posed to him by bounty hunters already in space prison rather than increasing security. It's not like faking his murder will be devastating to everyone who cares about him (especially Anakin, Ahsoka, Padme, and Satine the woman who would happily marry him and vice versa if he weren't a Jedi) and potentially send his emotional wreck of a best friend/former padawan into a tornado of anger and potential revenge quest'.
Honestly, the craziest part here is that Obi-Wan was completely down for the whole thing.

Say what you will about plot simplicity--the concept of the prince in Sleeping Beauty saving the day by listening, simple kindness, and being a good friend in the Strawberry Shortcake version is pretty solid
