Another Whaler thing that's not a headcanon but still: any time I hear this song I think of Daud and all the Whalers happily retired somewhere, Daud working some part time manual labor job somewhere just to keep some money flowing in and the body working, and every once in a while a Whaler will drop by to visit him and talk about the old times and hang out and maybe have a drink or two on the porch
