the progression of events in this arc is so so good and great and i love how you can just clearly see where and how each characters thoughts begin and progress throughout each chapter as it goes on. while steven was probably set in stone about his view on how to handle the situation i earnestly believe zed and zapp set out to disobey steven's request. and then they make it very easy to understand leo's point of view and why hes doing what he is - its why they show us that flashback and don't tell anyone else, and why he speaks very little after zapp threatens him - and then immediately cuts to klaus, who knows absolutely nothing about the situation currently but he can figure it out just by looking at whats in front of him. and because klaus is so unflinching when it comes to upholding what he believes is morally right he does so without anyone needing to tell him whats going on. he sees this percieved 'monster' protecting someone else and immediately goes to protect it, too. and even though a lot of them disagreed with each other at the beginning there is still the scene afterwards where they all come together to try and catch each other when they begin falling. i think nightow should pay me for what its done to my mental health

Ever wonder if V1 preferr different blood types like mosquitoes do?

I DO....i wonder if it would be arbitrary too or if how common/rare it is would impact that. like does it prefer o+ because it's easy to come by or does it prefer ab- because it's like a delicacy?? DOES the positive or negative aspect bring something to it? if v1 can "taste" though, i do think they may have different flavors because the cells have got little sugars on them that create different antigens (or none in o's case - sugar free!) maybe ab is "highly seasoned", with a or b having their own distinct flavors and o being the kind of blood it wants if it doesn't feel well lol interestingly, looking it up in mosquitoes, it seems they prefer o BUT only when compared to a....so maybe a is an acquired taste. like its seasoning is a bit. funky. which means v1 would probably enjoy it lol and if i can indulge AS usual, a is thought to be the most ancient blood type so....maybe true angelic blood has a similar taste in some ways ahaha

Something in how breakbeat and dubstep kinda got big in the early 2010s, when (to me at least, having lived most of my life in the 00s at that point) it felt like the future, shaking off the last bits of analogue archaicness in favor of sleek digital progress.

And then instead we moved to flat colors, less color, planned obsolescence ratcheting up, increasing user-unfriendliness, and now every year for the past three or four years it feels like Silicon Valley has come out with some new big fad that finds a new unique way to kill the planet faster and make the human condition worse at the same time. And somewhere along the way that cool, abrasive yet interesting techno music that seemed like it was ushering in the future, became cringe and outdated and swept aside just like everything it had previously shooed out the door.

laurance is trying to be nicer to dante but the fact that dante doesnt hate him at all make it even harder somehow. like he cant apologize because dante will just go "no no you havent done anything wrong, IM sorry" and laurance just. doesnt know what to say to that. anytime he tries to show affection to dante, dante just starts crying and then feels bad and apologizes for it. which just makes laurance feel worse

magic – lifeforce/souls/energy/whatever

questions: how prolific is it?  who can wield it?  how is it generally regarded?  is it generally known about?

amulets/talismans – we already have some of these: power sources.  dezod’s house and rob and cassius’ dragons are all examples of this.  really, so are all living things, in a sense.  in any case, withdrawing power/lifeforce/energy/whatever from one being and putting into into something else creates an object (or being in the case of rochilda/safira at the end of the conflagration and rowena’s dragons) of power.  good mages could also make these by placing a part of themselves in them, but they’re probs primarily crafted by dark mages for obv reasons.

questions: can non-sorcerers wield such objects? how many of these are known out in the world? if multiples, can we form a plotline out of this – the resistance seeking these objects of power in order to fight back?

alternate species – only non-humanoid examples.  dragons certainly exist and, for example, gryffins and phoenixes may also, as they are the emblems of great houses, etc

questions: what alternate species are real?  where do they exist?  are they extinct/underground/extant?  

mages – some are born with it, such as ric, dezod, and avina, but most people are not (exception: have it thrust upon them aka helena).  the only learnable form of magic is dark magic.

questions: what makes it dark? (presumably a taboo against disturbing the gods’ chosen order?) what, precisely, besides healing and gaining more power, can be achieved by the use of magic? are herbs and potions used or is it simply an act of the will? are there words of power?  staffs (i absolutely object to wands)? any sort of totems?  what is known, generally, about magic and its wielders?
