chapter 1

"Have you watched the new series on Netflix?"

"Omg! Yes! The one with the hot guy?!"

"I just bought this new phone with three cameras on it, and it's just so cheap."

"Oh! I will buy five later."

"Five?"

"Yes, I'll give them as gifts."

"I'm so gonna break up with this guy. He's so boring!"

"The blondie is hotter than the raven-haired, girl! I told you, you should have slept with him instead!"

You internally groaned as you squint your eyes at your book, totally disturbed by the noise but was keeping it in. You looked up at your so-called new group of friends and sighed.

They were all having their own businesses with each other, buzzing non-stop like bees surrounding their honey.

And you?

Seated at the corner of the rectangular table, where an empty cup of iced mocha sat in front of your unmoving state. You gripped on your book, eyebrows twitching at the high-pitched voices of the girls.

"What the hell are you even wearing, girl? Is that a rag?" Irene squealed, tugging on Yeri's new skirt. She had her beautifully arched eyebrow raised in disgust, her lips in a disappointed straight line.

"Damn you. This is a new trend by my stylist!" The youngest argued as she slapped Irene's hand away, offended by the claim of the oldest.

"Leave our young one alone, Joo. She's growing!" Wendy chuckled as she nudged the sleeping Seulgi on her side. Joy laughed out loud as she watched Seulgi almost rolling down the couch in surprise.

You tsked silently as you closed your book, giving up on trying to read in peace with these girls. You stood up and looked over the noisy group, waiting for the right time to say goodbye.

"You bitch, I'm gonna kill you." Seulgi grunted as she tried to get up from the floor.

"As I was saying, he's not even worth the risk, you know?" Joy continued her story, glancing at Wendy, who listened eagerly. "My dad would have cut me off from the family if he heard I was dating him."

"I seriously don't know why you like these kinds of clothing." Irene shook her head as she looked over Yeri's clothing, who frowned at her.

You sighed in defeat, realizing that saying goodbye or not will only be useless and irrelevant to these people. You could be dead by now and they wouldn't know or care about it.

I mean, you're not even part of this group. You were just tugged in for a while and you thought you were.

"What were you even thinking?" You thought to yourself as you silently closed the door. "I shouldn't have gone here."

You greeted goodbye the househelpers of Irene before you went outside of her house. Thankfully, they were a lot friendlier than their master.

Maybe they were indeed friendly, but only with their group. Not everyone else.

Especially not you.

Why did you even try making friends? Didn't you learn from the past?

You looked around the street and slouched your shoulders in exhaustion.

You're gonna walk for about 3 kilometers to get back to the coffee shop near your apartment. Again. Why? They invite you, but you don't get to ride with them.

"Stupid." You mumbled at yourself, kicking small pebbles as you started walking.

Why do we always try to fit ourselves with people who obviously do not want to welcome us with open arms? Why force ourselves? Why do we become so desperate?

Is it fear that controls us or is it us wanting to control our fear?

You reached out for your best friend with a smile, and she smiled back.

"You know, school was boring. Same things happen everyday, and it's getting tiring." You complained to her, your hand caressing her head. She just stared at you with her twinkling eyes as she leaned on to your touch.

"The same pairs of eyes glaring at me. The same mouths laughing at me. The same hands pushing me down." Your lips trembled as you looked into her eyes. Her sincere eyes. "The same people who I trusted." You let out a humorless laugh as you looked up at the darkening sky.

"I'm getting tired." Your voice cracked as you pulled her closer to you, hugging her small furred body. "Poppy, I'm so tired of it." The 3-month-old golden retriever whined at your cries, as if she felt your pain.

"I'm hurting." You cried. "I'm hurting so so much."

You blinked your tears away as you stared at the old house in front of you. You smiled bitterly as you see the house that you used to love so much. The house that used to be so full of love. The house that watched you grow. The house that gave you warmth whenever you were cold.

Now it's just an old house with brittle wood, waiting to be destroyed.

It's been a two years since you left this house and went to live on the apartment near the university. It's a few blocks far from it, so you get to visit it once and awhile.

"I miss you." You whispered, your eyes drifting to the window where you usually watch the stars. "It's been awhile, huh? How are you guys?" You talked as if you were getting an answer. You must look like crazy, talking by yourself. "I'm good, you don't have to worry."

I've been alone for years, what is there to fear?

"Grandma." You smiled. "I'll get going."

She was your only family, and she was more than enough. She was your home.

Until she was gone.

"Where do you guys want to eat?" Seulgi excitedly asked as she picked her bag up from her table. Then they started chatting loudly as they went out of the room. The class buzzed as the professor went out after a short consultation.

You just continued packing your things, ignoring the noise irritating your ears. It was just the second day of school, but everyone's friends already.

Wow.

You always wonder if you were the only one who does not manage to make friends in a snap. Or who is not fond of being plastic in front of other people in order to fit in.

"Hi! Do you want to come with us for lunch?"

You halted zipping your backpack for a second, eyebrows furrowing before realizing that...

that question is certainly not for you.

No one wanted you in their group, even just for lunch.

"Sure! I'm Heize, by the way."

You let out a breath, before wearing your bag and leaving the room.

The hallways were filled with people, conversing with each other. Talking about the upcoming football game of the seniors this Friday, about the newly opened resto across the main university building, and blah blah. You can't keep up with how every person here can talk along with a hundred of students in one enclosed area.

You managed to squeeze yourself into the sea of people, and rushed to the empty elevator. You quickly closed the doors before anyone could even follow. You hated being around with so much people. It wasn't just because you liked being alone, it was suffocating.

It was better when you were free.

You leaned your head on the elevator wall, watching as the red numbers increase as the ride ascends. Fortunately, everyone is having their lunch outside or at the canteen. No one should bother you at this period.

The ting sound of the elevator indicated that you have arrived at your desired floor, the Composition Studies of Music Department. This building is under the Arts and Theatre department, which has been your safe haven for the past two years in the university. Every floor is aesthetically designed and suited for every course department, it is pleasing to relax in. Not everyone appreciates the look though, so here you are.

You stepped out of the elevator and smiled at the paintings outside of the studios and practice rooms. You haven't sneaked inside of the rooms as you settled for the soft carpeted floor near the staircase on the corner. It wasn't prohibited to be seen outside the corridors, but it was embarrassing. You cannot go inside the rooms without permission or if you don't have classes there, but it is the silence that you wanted here not anything else so it's fine out here.

"Hmm." You hummed as you sat on the carpeted floor, placing your bag on the side. You silently took out your lunch box from your bag as you looked around the empty 4th floor. You've been eating lunch here for numerous times, so no one would catch you, right?

With a short reassurance to yourself, you started eating your stir-fried noodles slowly.

"I think I should have added more soy sauce in this." You mumbled as you chewed on your food. You've been living by yourself for quite a long time, but still haven't grasped the cooking skills. But your food is edible, don't worry. "I should buy some later."

You were half-way finishing your food when you heard something coming from one of the rooms in the hallway. You munched on your lunch quick, almost panicking as you packed your lunch box back to your bag.

"Tonight I look into"

Your hands stopped packing as the first line of a familiar song rang through the hallway. The piano keys were played gently but with certainty, complementing the tone of the voice.

"The moon is so blue"

Your eyes drifted to the last door near the elevator, noticing the light under the door. Your mouth gaped in awe.

"You too lonely like me, living with empty heart"

You admit that you were not a fan of music, and you don't enjoy them that much. But hearing this introduction of a song, with that kind of voice, you were drawn to it. The high-pitch sounded so effortless as if the singer was merely breathing, and the melody of the instrument suited the smoothness of the voice.

"Lay down on empty room"

Instead of leaving, you found yourself sitting back down and leaning against the wall.

"It won't hurt to stay for a while." You bit your lip as you closed your eyes, just letting the voice take you to places.

"By these thoughts, those thoughts"

"Long, long sigh"

"Cigarette smoke"

"One more day has gone again"

It was more peaceful with that voice accompanying your loneliness.

And since I miss Roommates I’ve decided to make a fictional season three of the show with all of my favorite artist.

You giggled at your self as you look around your dorm picking and dropping things you want to bring along to the house you'll be staying at for six months or more.

*still struggling what to bring*

"What do I bring?" You asked your self loudly letting the microphone that was hanging on your clothes catch the sound. You hummed to your self as you go to the nearest camera that was stuck on the wall. The one that was filming you down. "Guess what? I don't know what to bring."

*Oh oh..* (unison of oh)

You spoke to the camera before walking away from it to think things through. A female appeared from the kitchen as she munch on a sandwich you've made earlier for yourself, but now is in the hand of your group member.

"You're still not done packing?" She asked and you nodded your head as she comes over to you and open up your luggage and started throwing things inside, such as her pictures because she said you'll miss her.

*Transition; Introduction of Y/n.

[In front of Y/n, with black backdrop]

"Hey everyone!" You introduced as soon as the person behind the camera signaled you to start speaking. "I'm Y/n, from the rookie group AMATEUR.”

*Transition; Introduction of Y/n group and performance.

"So why did you join this show?" The same female interviewer asked as you sit in front of the camera quite shy to be alone.

"I've lived in Korea for four years now, and not once I've lived outside of the company's provided shelter, lived with my group too ever since. So I wanna see how it feels like moving in with new set of people." You said independently as you smile sincerely.

[Camera men holding up camera as they follow Y/n]

"Are you really sure about moving there?" Your member asked as she drops your luggage she was carrying on the ground. A giggle came out of your mouth as you looked at her pouting face.

"It's not like I won't come back in here," you joked. "Plus- You're going to have the room all by your self so I don't know why you're complaining."

(Sound track; Laughs.)

"Oh you're right!" She exclaimed and grabbed the luggage she had just dropped. Opening the trunk immediately and putting it in. Pushing you towards the door, opening it for you. Waving. "Bye bye sister."

as he walk over the living room where two boys focus on the screen with controllers on their hands too busy playing Mario Kart for the hundredth time since they've got home from tour. The camera that surrounds the place following Taehyung's every move.

"What?" An uninterested Jin asked as he continue on pressing the speed button again and again to speed up the car's speed so he can win against Jungkook after losing during the previous game.

"Take care of Yeontan for me pleaseee-" He begged dragging the word as he look at the oldest member of his group. Having no response he moved over to the huge screen and blocked it with his body in hopes of gaining the older one's attention.

"Ah Hyung!" Jungkook whined as he tries to move his head to the side to see the screen better. Great. Two kids are whining.

"So why did you joined the show?" The male interviewer asked as he signaled Taehyung who sits awkwardly alone in his seat. Not used of not having the other six people to be with him.

"I think its because I've been stuck with the same people for years and I think it'll be healthy for me to be away from them for a while." He giggled making the female crews look at him in admiration. While Taehyung recall the time he memorized the members snores after being roommates with them from time to time.

"Go." Seokjin said at Kim Taehyung as he pouted at him. The camera man behind him filmed the two as they bid their farewell to one another. Taehyung went to the older one to hug him, trying to be cute and all.

"Please leave." Seokjin sternly said before cracking a smile after trying to push the kid.

Hugging the kid as well, knowing to himself that he's gonna miss the younger kid.

"Hey y'all!" A bright voice cheered as he sits on the chair. The common black background behind him.

"It's me." He said before turning his head 180 degree, turning his attention back to the camera "Lucas."

"Oh- I'm the first one to arrive." Seungkwan shyly announced as he enters the empty house filled with Cameras.

"Woah-" as he left his luggage near the door as he enters the house. The excitement can already be seen as the camera follows him around. The sound of a dog barking echoed the room making Seungkwan jump on his place as a white Pomeranian dog run towards him.

Seungkwan looked at it in awe after catching his breath once he realize the situation. He looked at the dog before checking the tag that was hanging on his collar.

"Hello my name is Bol, your little company." Seungkwan read out loud the words written in the white paper, "So You're little Bol?" Seungkwan cooed.

He giggles at the excitement and the thought of having new people to do the talks and things with in camera.

"I'm Actress Shin Yeeun. Hello everybody!" The female smiled shyly at the camera as she waves with both hands.

[Films entrance door.]

Yeeun entered the house with a bear the same size of her upper body. Hugging it tightly as she entered the place. The luggage rolls behind her as her manager helps her out.

"Wah~ it's the same as in the show." She looked at the place. Amazed. She looked at the stairs and quickly climbed the stairs to go check the seconds floor.

Knowing what she had seen in the show. She quickly moved over to the room with three bed claiming one as hers. Dropping her bag on one of the bed.

A sound of pans dropping echoed the quiet house making Yeeun's eyes grow big. Frightened.

You came out of the car with glittery make up still on, matching your group's comeback theme. Except your outfit was just a plain white shirt and a simple ripped jeans.

"Oh- Pretty woman." Lucas dropped his luggage to the cemented road as he came towards you to help you out.

You walked to the car's trunk to take out your luggage as your manager turn off the car.

Lucas wiped the sweat on his hands on his jeans before walking towards you the camera man was following his every move.

Clearing his throat, he quickly offered his hand out for a handshake to the familiar girl.

"Hi ma'am I'm Lucas." Lucas' cheeks flushed a tint of red as he realized that he had just called you 'ma'am' randomly and out of nowhere.

"Well hello sir." You played along to the reddening Lucas as you shake his hands in the air.

"Would you like some help?" Lucas asked as he motioned the opened trunk, pulling out a grey luggage out.

"Oh shut it Yukhei. Stop playing nice just take it." You laughed at Lucas which laughed as well as he pulls out the luggage with you helping out by pulling out using the side handle.

"We're in the same company." You answered the question that the interviewer had thrown you to clear out the confusion the viewers might get. "We hang out a lot because we used to train together. We basically don't really treat each other nicely."

*Transition; Interview Lucas.

"Y/n is a bully." Was all Lucas could let out. Your ears hearing his words clearly and with no doubt. He really just said that in national television.

"Yah!" Your scream was heard in the interview Lucas was having, and the editors and directors didn't even bother to cut that scene out.

(Laughs)

<Roommate’s entrance door>

You two pressed the door bell and the two people who are still busy admiring the place looked at one another before coming to the intercom. The intercom’s camera catches the two of your faces and Seungkwan's jaw dropped.

*Transition; Interview Seungkwan.

"I knew him! He's from NCT." Seungkwan said, "Another runaway from too many members!" Seungkwan said as he pointed both his index finger to the camera chuckling as he winks with his left eye.

"I was petrified! Am I the only actress in this show? Is it full of singers?" A shocked Yeeun said to the camera as she looked at the interviewer.

"So okay.. You have an NCT member and a Seventeen member." You started talking about Seungkwan and Lucas. "Do you know how chaotic it'll be if both group decides to VISIT US?! THAT’S GONNA BE A TOTAL CATASTROPHE!"

"This is literally unnecessary." You looked at him in disgust as you carry his life size cut out to the door. Of course Lucas would have a life cut of himself.

"Your comment is unnecessary thank you very much."

The two of you entered the familiar place you've seen in your television and walked in the house. Making sure to remove your shoes and wear a house slipper you bought specially for the house.

"Is that a dinosaur slippers?" You looked down at his feet to see its covered in a green dinosaur in door slippers.

*That’s a cute choice!*

"I didn't say anything about your panda slipper so you can stay quiet." The door opened and two shy people greeted the two of you.

You and Lucas' faces softened to the unfamiliar air in the air. The feeling of being around new people you've never met or just have seen passing by you was different.

*Yes trapping random people in one house isn't that bad.*

"I got so shy, because I feel like I'm crashing into someone else's home. I should've come early!" You exclaimed, looking to the camera.

a couple of minutes later, Taehyung opened the door to find four people sitting on the couch quietly. After having small conversations with each other such as exchanging names and basic information such as ages.

Four heads turn their heads towards the door and their eyes grew on the sight of the person.

[Angle one; catching the reaction.]

Quickly standing up, the four of you bowed your head on the senior that had just entered in.

[Angle two; catching the reaction.]

Taehyung freezing at the point. Not knowing what to do. Taehyung started bowing as well. The four kids who stood up still not knowing what to do, bowed once again as the senior at the door bow at them. With them bowing again, making Taehyung bow again, and again, and again.

*its a never ending*

"It was pretty stupid." Taehyung laughed as the scenario repeated in his head. Cracking a smile on the reaction everyone has given during the first meeting. "But I can relate because I used to be the same."

*Transition; Interview Lucas.

"It was Kim Taehyung!" Lucas exclaimed, "He's a senior!"

A bow after a bow was what happened to the five of them. Until Taehyung knew enough was enough to the five of them.

"Stop stop stop!" Taehyung laughed at the scenario that seems to fit a sitcom rather than a reality show. The four of them stopped what they were doing. Standing awkwardly in their place. Not knowing what to do.

"Do you guys.. perhaps want some food?" Yeeun asked trying to break the silence that was growing in the place. Even the people behind cameras can feel the awkward tension in the air.

"Can I check out the rooms?" Taehyung asked and Lucas' eyes lit up to Taehyung's reaction.

"You want to check it too? I haven't seen any of them." Lucas said. Not really familiar of the place as he has not seen the show as it is. Only clips such as Jackson and Youngji bickering around the place from the previous season. Which he knows it'll be you and him in this season.

"So what are you making?" You asked Yeeun who opened the fridge. Your jaw dropped open at the sight of the fridge being full and everything you will need to feed eleven people. The same reaction Seungkwan had during his first tour in the house alone.

"This never happen in the dorm?" You said as you move closer to the full fridge with different varieties of food available. Yeeun looked at you and to Seungkwan who laughed at the confused as he leaned on the kitchen island.

"I have twelve members once the fridge is full its gone by midnight." Seungkwan said as the two look at him in amusement.

The first five people seem to be getting alone in their first hour together.

he speaks so confidently in korean even though it’s not his native language! one would think it is by the way he never stutters or has a loss for words but it’s just because of his never-ending friendliness and confidence that’s a part of his personality

remember the rolling paper event during the 127 1st anniversary party? all of johnny’s messages were the longest ones and were so heartfelt and sincere. he really poured his entire heart while writing those and that only shows just how much he loves his members

his role inside the group may seem unimportant but he’s one of the few people holding the group together. there is taeyong as the leader, but johnny is like a leader from the shadows who puts everyone before himself first - and it is not easy to do

he cares for the foreign members so, so much. out of all the nct members, he’s been in sm the longest and as a foreigner he understands and knows what it’s like to suddenly be in a completely new country surrounded by nothing but strangers. he kept on conversing with ten, both in english and in korean, so ten would feel more comfortable and he’s the main reason ten’s korean has gotten so much better. also, he takes so much patience with the chinese members who have language barriers with both him and the rest of nct and never fails to correct them when they say something wrong or when they can’t think of a word/phrase to say. when they were touring seoul, he was always next to lucas and closely listening to how lucas speaks so that he can help him learn better!!

johnny knows how to flirt and seduce but what he doesn’t know is how to act afterwards so the embarrassment that comes after he says something cringy is just the most adorable think ever (take “do you have a boyfriend?” ig video for an example). he’s just so awkward and he can’t compliment someone without blushing ;(

ReVe Festival Day 2 Review

Umpah Umpah

Like that dumb dumb like filter on the umpahs. Wonder who's voice that is 🤔 Prechrous harmonies are nice. There's a really high whiny synth in the chorus that I like. I really like the cadence of the rap section. Joy high note is all that matters. The instrumentation in the song varies enough to never be boring. I think the order of high notes is based on stability since they have to perform this live. Seulgi has the most stability and would still be able to get the high note even in the third chorus (end of the song). I think the chorus is my favorite part.

Carpool

Starting with Joy is a great way to get me listening. I actually thought the chorus was the prechrous initially. But I guess this opens with the chorus which is what caught me off guard. I really like the chorus vocal melody. Lol who's doing those like hypeman ad libs. Yerene getting the first part of the chorus and the bridge!!! The firework ending caught me by surprise.

Love is the Way

How could they do this to me? I'm such a sucker for this kind of retro. (I'm just waiting for someone to edit this under lionheart tbh) I'm getting hairspray vibes in particular. JOY!!! She's sounds so amazing. Already hearing yerene this early in a song 😮 Whatever midi instruments they're using don't sound bad. The rap works way better in this than I would have expected. Joy sounds soo good in this. It would be cool if they actually performed this with a live big band but sm never gives us anything nice so I'm just talking nonsense. Listening to this makes me want to do the twist or the mashed potato. But at the same time I could totally see a more typical hip hop/kpop style choreo for this.

Jumping

Are they using a lot brass synth for the baseline?? That's so cool. The electric guitar sound they're using kinda reminds me of like beach rock? I might be misplacing the sound. The snare sounds like a clap I don't know if that's because it's layered slightly displaced snare hits or if it's more of a rim shot snare it. Either way it immediately locks me into the beat and gets my head moving. I love the way the chords come in. It's like sliding into the pool at the end of the slide. Cool switch up I think it's actually the same groove as the beginning but with more instrumentation and that changes the feel a bit. The build up of the instrumental in this was really nice. The way they say jumping is very distinct catchy. That little glissando on the synth was fun. Red velvet bridges are always gorgeous. Omg and everyone sang in the bridge. Was that Irene whispering at the end of the bridge. Wow, initially this didn't have a huge impact on my but after listening to it multiple times to write this I love this song. Also personal opinion: this kinda feels like sunny side up was trying to do but I like this way better because the instrumental was fuller. (I think the way you drop into the chorus is what feels similar???) I like sunny side up but I did feel like the instrumental was missing something and was a bit repetitive.

Ladies Night

That opening synth phrase sounds like the Disney theme. Really nice background vocals off the bat, nice. I wanna say this has a disco influence. I love the strong presence of instruments in particular the flute bc it's less common to hear. That was a good high note. I'd actually love to hear a jazz band arrangement is this bc I can hear the guitar improvising in the background. And the whole time the rhythm section is comping. The way the bridge feels like it slows down without actually changing tempo *chef kiss*. Only complaint is that I want the bass to be more forward in the mix but I literally always want more bass so.

Eyes Locked, Hands Locked

Oh I like this from like the second beat. It's spacious. If the beat was not as heavy I would say it's dreamy but it's a bit too grounded for that. Rather than floating off into space it feels like a the melody is a hot air balloon tethered to the ground but still up in the air and the view is just as gorgeous. Yeri's voice Oof yes the vocals in the last chorus. This might be the least busy instrumental song so far (which isn't to say that it's thin bc rv doesn't really do minimal production) but it's perfect, it's just enough.

As I continue listening one of those top songs may start to stand out more but I can honestly see the list staying like this. (If anything carpool will nice up too 😂). And Umpah Umpah may be last on the list but it's still a solid 8/8.5. which is just a testament to how high red velvet have set the bar for themselves bc Umpah Umpah doesn't even begin to crack top 5 title list

Final Thoughts

I love the use of instruments in this album it's way more prominent than Day 1 which used more electronic/non-instrumental/distorted/game sounds so it's great to hear that versatility. They really put Joy to work in this album??? Like it's not like she's never had lines before but like I really heard her in this album. She's such a great vocalist but I feel like the focus is always on Wendy and Seulgi but she really shined in this! Red Velvet never has long rap breaks because that's not their focus but I thought the ones they had in the album were creative and worked well. I'm in love with this album.

i haven’t updated in so long, i’m so sorry!

when she first became a model, people were like… that face can't be real. it's photoshop or smth, it's so perfect

BUT NOPE

irene is literally just that beautiful

models for cosmetics, not really clothes too much

but when she does model for clothing lines, whatever she wore sold out in under five minutes

no one believes she’s a day over 20 when they first see her, they're always like…. ur either drinking straight outta the fountain of youth or ur really just that young

but they stop saying that when they see her with newbie model!yeri, because….. she's a whole mom

babies the hell outta yeri, and even though yeri is like… irene, pls…. i’m an adult

she still eats the crust-free, dinosaur shaped sandwhiches irene brings her with the biggest smile on her face

and that smile is the reason irene babies her so much

irene lives to make other people happy, and it's this trait that makes you fall super hard for her

ur an employ at the company irene is signed with, and it's not like ur in her immediate team or anything like that

u just recieve requests from people that want to work with the agency’s models, and it's ur job to sort out the request and either assign them a model if they haven't specified, or make sure the requests reach the desk of the specific model’s team

and it's a really good job! u like it, especially since an organized environment is what you love most in the world, and that's basically what ur doing for a living

but sometimes it gets stressful

bc the agency is so huge, it requires everyone to be on their a game at all times, and since it's basically just you doing the sorting, it can be…. overwhelming

and especially in the few months or so before spring is when it gets real hectic

because everyone wants models for photoshoots with blooming flowers and falling cherry blossoms

which you’ve handled before, it should be no big deal, and this year should be no different

but for some reason

when you go to work one day

you just….. can't

it's not like you sit at your desk and do nothing, but it's more like you're trying to do things, but keep making mistakes you’ve never made before

when it's an hour before your lunch break, you send out two stacks of requests, one for irene’s team, and one for seulgi’s team, because those two usually are more opinionated on which jobs they take on, and they'll probably need more time than yeri, joy, and wendy combined to decide

and ur like ‘cool, the requests are on their way, i need to stop stressing and chill a little, i got this.’

but right as you say this, an intern walks into ur office and looks kinda…. concerned?

and u know it's the intern from seulgi’s team, so ur like…. what happened with the requests, is something wrong?

and the intern kinda mumbles at first cause they don't want you to be upset, but eventually you make out that they're trying to tell you that…. irene and seulgi’s request still haven't been recieved

“what do you mean they weren't recieved?”

“like… we got the message that we’d be recieving them today at 11:00 am, but….. we never got it.”

and you just snap because

oh my god

this is a major mistake, and you're going to be the one to take the blame

you tell the intern that you're going to fix it, and to go tell both seulgi’s and irene’s teams that it’ll be there soon

they nod and leave, and you begin to scavenge through all the scrunched up and tossed away notes to try and decipher which brand wanted who and what day and time and the benefits they offer with each job

and it's literal hell, because all your notes are so vague, because you immediately wrote them down on the official request forms for irene and seulgi so you wouldn't have to rewrite it later and waste time

without even realizing, lunch is long gone and it's nearing time for you to get off work

but there are at least ¼ of the requests missing from each girls’ pile and you're full on sobbing bc….. this sucks

and you're so stressed that you don't even realize someone entered your office until they timidly knock on the surface of your desk

you're somewhere between shocked and scared when you see it's irene, because a) you didn't even know she knew where your office was? and b) was she there to yell at you or fire you? because you will cry even harder if that's the case

but nah

before you can do anything, irene sets down a plastic container on your desk and pulls out a fork and a bottle of water from her purse and puts those in front of you as well

and that's when she really gets on ur fucking uwus, because she opens the container to reveal some crust-less, dinosaur shaped sandwiches with a fruit cup in the shape of stars on the side

“you didn't come out of your office all day, and the delivery guy didn't have your usual order when he stopped by the office earlier, so i….”

she kinda motions to the food, and looks down sheepishly, and ur all sorts of “wat” on the inside bc????

is irene a literal angel? probably

you thank her profusely and tell her she didn't have to do this, but she just gives you the softest smile and goes:

something in irene just melts, and she’s like so happy that she pulls you in this giant hug and just starts to ramble about how happy she is and

and then she’s just like “i’m so happy you had fun, because i really like you, like a lot, and i would’ve been real sad if you didn’t have fun”

you just giggle and go “i like you too, okay? you can stop being so nervous now.”

and she relaxes and smiles, grabs your hand, entwine it with hers, and the two of you continue to talk and get to know each other even more

and that’s how you two start dating

cutting fun shapes into yeri’s food so she thinks it's more exciting to ear her fruits and vegetables? check.

and you two take really good care of each other too! always making sure the other is eating properly and if the other is stressed that they have a shoulder to cry on or a person to love them unconditionally

it's gr8, and the rv members are so happy that irene has found someone with just as much love in their heart as she does, and isn't afraid to tell irene she's the love of their life every day

concept: irene has now taken a habit to eating lunch in your office. occasionally, the other rv members join too, but irene comes every day at noon with two sets of food and the biggest smile on her face. she always says that you're the best part about coming to work now.

I’ll start~

1. 144340 - BTS

This song just spoke to volumes to me. I was gonna go with The Truth Untold, but this one has been on my mind a lot lately. I love the sound, how chill it is, and listening to it a first time, you’d think just that. It’s chill. And it is. But listening a second time, you notice something in their voice in which you missed the first time. Is it anguish? Pain? But you feel something different. Then reading the lyrics, it came together.

THEIR VOICES OMG OKAY- So I love me some vocals. I love me some raps. The rapping was amazing, it flowed so nicely. I love how the raps, and vocals alike, started with softer tones, and as it went on, they got stronger. But the strong was accompanied by the soft, and it complimented the sound as a whole. I just really love this song and I can go on about how beautiful this song is don’t @ me.

The song wasn’t what I expected, but I was pleasantly surprised, because... I wasn’t sure what I was expecting. But I loved it.

The music video is so aesthetically pleasing, the song as a whole is just so- I can’t explain it. The song seems easy vocal wise, and I love it, because it allows room for them to focus on the dance when performing live. The adlibs in the back are so good. Chanyeol and Sehun’s rap was amazing, Kai’s dance it on pOINT- vocal line really fucking making me second guess my sexuality tbh

I love Suho going “Baby girl~” he just sounds cute- and the way he says “Morning Call” during that one dance move with his shoulders doing some version of the shimmy shimmy and i died, Suho’s so cute

Minseok with that hair though boi pls (I kid pls don’t hurt me--)

Lay didn’t sing in the Korean, and I was gonna fight SM myself if he wasn’t on the Chinese version.

3. One Of These Nights - Red Velvet

Okay, this song is hella emotional. Like, the first time I heard it, I cried. So hard. I had no idea what the song was saying, but the imagery of the music video told a story I understood, but didn’t at the same time.

Then I looked at Theory videos, and the song just impacted me more in a way that just crushed my soul. The song is beautiful, their voices are so melodic and blissful, yet pained and full of longing. This is a song that’s really stuck in my heart, and just- Ugh, I can’t with this song. Wendy’s voice is so strong, Seulgi is a good blend of soft and strong, Irene is very angelic, and both Yeri and Joy have a very sweet tone. I love the production of the song so much. Their voices are beautifully complimented by the hauntingly beautiful instrumental. I just really fucking love this song.

4. Siren - Sunmi

So, Sunmi. Sunmi is a very beautiful being. Her solo songs have been wonderful, and I love each and every one of them.

Siren, though. Siren really snatched my heart.

Powerful vocals with an 80s vibe to the song?? SIGN ME THE FUCK UP--

I love the concept this song took! Took me a while Siren being a play on words for both the aquatic being and the ringing noise from police cars and shit lol I was slow

But the imagery of the video was astounding, Sunmi looked like a goddess, vocals on point as always, and just- ugh- I love her so much I can’t--

5. Hann - G-Idle

The biggest Fuck You song I’ve heard in a while. And I love it so much.

First off, I really think Shuhua should get more lines. But I love the way the song worked. It’s so powerful, and strong, and SOOYEON’S RAP SLAYED ME COMPLETELY

Out of all of them, I believe YuQi has a very unique voice. It’s rare to hear someone in kpop to have such a deep voice like that, and I love it so much. She shocked me when she sang in Latata, and the shock came again in Hann. I hope the best for these girls, honestly.

6. What Is Love? - Twice

Okay...

There is so much gay in this, my lesbian heart couldn’t handle it.

The concept was so fucking cute! I love that the girls played each other’s love interest when they could have easily hired men to play the parts. But no, they went with this approach, and I love it. The movie references were amazing, the girls had such a sweet and sincere longing for true love to find them, it attacked my heart--

Also, Jihyo slayed me- She’s my ult bias, and I just ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

BONUS

The Last Blossom - Yanan and Jun (Originally by Faye Wong)

What I picked up from the song is that idols are merely human, and us idolizing them the way we do now is futile, because, again... they’re humans. And at some point, they could end up disappointing us standard-wise, and that we shouldn’t hold them to such high standards.

The original is so raw, and emotion inducing. Faye has such a impacting voice, so genuine and harsh with these lyrics. Her message comes across so clear, and it’s what everyone should hear.

Yanan and Jun’s take on the song is so breath taking. Maybe because I associated it immediately to Yanan’s breakdown, and how Jun comforted him, but I could really feel it in their voices how this song just screams out a message to let us know that they’re merely human. They fall, they hurt, they cry, they mess up. Sometimes, they’re overwhelmed with their own success and making sure they better themselves to please an audience that’s probably gonna grow over them after some time, for a reason over the other.

Both versions scream this message. One’s raw vocal wise, and the other sounds sad and on the verge of wanting to give up. And I love every bit of both versions.

Irene: Had expected there to be an age gap but the fact that you’re the same age as the maknae makes her cringe a little. “Ah, you’re so young! I feel like a dirty old Auntie.” It won’t hinder the relationship, esp. if you’re a mature person, but she does sit back and think about the age gap sometimes. Especially moments such as if she’s trying to reminisce about a childhood cartoon, that was out before you were even born.

Wendy: She’s so cute that others that don’t know your age may assume she’s the youngest in the relationship. Likes to pinch your cheeks and poke your nose, telling you often that you’re cute. Seulgi: Is used to being a maknae, since she was one of the youngest when she was a rookie. So having you around reminds her of that feeling, of being babied and cared for. You bring out her silly, child-like side and she’s shameless about goofing off with you.

Joy: Doesn’t even notice the age gap, unless it’s to annoy you. Most of the time, she acts like she’s younger than you, always wanting cuddles and attention. Her fondness of Yeri (also a 99 liner) shows that this would be no issue in the relationship #Joyri #my rv otp

As a connoisseur of k-pop, I stan many-a-group, and am fond of countless other groups’ music as well in the k-pop industry. When thinking back over the last several months, it has come to my attentions that this year has been amazing as far as comebacks go (so far). Though I am excited to see what the year brings in it’s second half, I’m going to list my favorites of 2017 (January-June).

At first, I thought the song was a bit annoying/repetitive, but it definitely grew on me and has quickly become one of my favorite songs from their red concepts. To me, Seulgi stood out in this comeback (but I’m biased), but each of them look gorgeous and have improved SO MUCH (like YERI.... VOCALS WOW!) Can’t wait for their next comeback... Until then, I’ll just watch/listen to Rookie on repeat forever.

The first time I watched a Monsta X video, I remember saying, “Oh my gosh, he’s so cute. Okay he is too. WHAAAAAT?!?! ARE THEY ALL VISUALS?!?!?!?” Now they have a song with a name that encompasses these boys as a group. ;) What can I say? Their dancing rocks, Jooheon and I.M slay as rappers, and everyone else kills in this performance vocally and visually. And my bias Wonho is lookin’ incredible. Much wow. A+ boys.

Upon first listening to the song, I was not thoroughly impressed, but it quickly became one of those songs I just kept listening to, and before I knew it, I was hooked. I like Pristin. I can’t say I stan them yet, but I can see me getting to that point. At this point, my bias is Kyla, and she needs more love! They all slay. Yay Pristin!

I know, Twice is back again. I already said some about them, but I had to mention this comeback because it is SO different from the rest of their songs... BUT I LOVE IT! Quickly fell in love with the upbeat and fun song and the dance (which has a lot of complicated parts compared to their other dances). LOVE LOVE LOVE TWICE!

Seventeen - Don’t Wanna Cry

I became a fan of Seventeen last year, as I was immediately captivated by their stunning choreography and charming stage presence. As I joined late and was super behind in the fandom, I learned a lot later on. Though I knew Hoshi had done choreography for the group before, when I read the article about him choreographing all of their songs, including their newest song, I watched this video and legitimately started sobbing. This is some of the best choreography in k-pop currently, and HOSHI NEEDS MORE RECOGNITION FOR BEING PERFECT AND SO INCREDIBLY GIFTED. I can’t express more love for this song and choreo. Wow. Just wow.

Sistar - Lonely

Sadly, this year, we are saying ‘farewell’ to the Queens of Summer, vocals, and visuals of k-pop. I will truly miss Sistar’s stunning performances and the amazing ride it has been being their fan. GOT7 - Never Ever

If you’ve been here before, you know I would never forget my babies GOT7. Aghases seem to be scarcer than they used to me, but GOT7 has been one of my favorite groups since the beginning. This year has been an amazing one for comebacks, but Never Ever left me in awe of this spectacular group. From the stunning improvement by the rappers, to the complex choreography, to their overwhelming charisma and stage presence, this comeback only reaffirmed my love for these boys. Honestly, every time I choose a bias, my list is completely destroyed. I don’t think I’ll ever keep a bias in GOT7, but I am strangely okay with that. Keep slaying, my boys.
