Angsty Starcourt Survivor Billy Headcanons I plan to incorporate

- Billy doesn’t get drunk after being flayed—barely even touches a drink at all, at least for a period of time. What used to be shit he did for fun, to forget, hail the new keg king, turns into a fear of losing control of his own body. He has trouble falling asleep for this reason, too, and even though he knows it’s okay, it’s safe now, it’s so damn hard to release consciousness without putting up a fight, because what if he doesn’t wake up as himself?

- Billy learned a lot about Vecna during his time as one of the flayed. He knows things about Will he can’t explain, became aware of Vecna’s distinct fixation on Eleven, sunk like a stone into a bottomless well of icy fury not his own—the eerie power of which he’ll never forget. Vecna didn’t plan on him living to keep this knowledge; Billy lives, anyway. If they meet again in season 4, they’ll have a lot to say to one another.

- Vecna controlled whether Billy saw what he was doing. Sometimes being flayed was like sitting shotgun; a tear might slip through, but Billy’s mouth and fists moved on their own, and he had a front row seat. Other times, maybe when he was close to someone who might help him, or when he would have fought too much, it was like being locked in the trunk of his car going 90 down the freeway. He doesn’t recall anything from those moments. However, because his body still experienced it, memories of what Vecna hid from him start leaking through.

author's note: I had a sudden idea about writing some headcanons Camp Halfblood demigods being claimed and what it's like for each respective god and cabin, followed by a small blurb afterwards. You get claimed in an untypical manner. You heard of demigods waiting for a sign of their godly parent claiming them, with a glowing symbol above their head. Instead, when you get introduced to the camp members, Mr. D appears carrying a can of diet coke and casually states “No need to put them in the Hermes’ cabin. They're one of mine's”

Cue the record scratch. This immediately brings a lot of confusion and gossip. Many eyes look between you and Mr. D who doesn't seem bothered at all. You saw Chiron sigh and place his hand to his face, giving your godly father a disappointed headshake. Then you hear Castor and Pollux yell that they have a new sibling that they didn't even know about?!

You get a lot of looks of sympathy and jealousy. You don't figure out why until a little bit later on. Chiron fills you in with a reassuring voice but also speaks with an exasperated tone to Dionysus 

Although you guys can't make wine or touch anything alcohol related, you did inherit Dioynsus' wine making skills. This includes also being good at making infused drinks or mixing drinks that range from mixing soda flavours together to making your tea blend. Even if the flavours shouldn't work together or whatever the drink type you're making, you just can. You are your own personal barista.

Putting this first and out of the way, you're both in a blessed and awkward situation where you are able to see and interact with your godly parent. Mr. D tries to treat you like every other demigod in Camp Halfblood, and that makes it awkward when you don't know if you should call him “Dad” or “Mr. D”, but at the same time, you know you have it better then others. 

It doesn't mean Mr. D doesn't keep an eye out. When you dedicate your offerings to the gods and look at him when you do it, you can just see Dionysus’ face soften and his eyes have a hint of affection. 

Don't ask how you or your other half-siblings came to be if Mr. D was sentenced to Camp Halfblood. You won't get an answer from but at least you know you're not alone and the twins are glad to have a baby sibling. Get ready for the youngest sibling treatment. 

Dionysus is the God of Theatre so you have a theatrical flare. Even if you're introverted, you're not exempt; this can be applied in how you do certain things or be rather convincing at times. If you're extroverted, well, you're automatically the Theatre kid. 

This turns out to be rather useful in events like Capture the Flag in a state of mania. When the heat of the battle starts to get to you, you feel your godly parent's power begin to rise in you and you can use that theaters flair to rouse your teammate's spirits up. You can also get a bit maniac and effect your teammates and enemies alike and become rather terrifying. 

You have a bit of a green thumb so you can find some solace with the Demeter kids. However, unlike the Demeter kids who can just make plants grow and flourish, your green thumb only really applies to plants you have an interest in like Dionysus with his grapes…or now strawberries. Regardless, you can keep a houseplant alive at least. 

Aside from a few very selected people within Camp, you're one of the few people who has seen Mr.D's true form. Not his godly form or the Mr. D you've seen, but the form he usually shows in front of mortals. Then it becomes very obvious how your other parent became so enamoured. You thank him silently for taking up his current form because you’re not going to be ready to hear about Mr. D being a DILF.

“Welcome to Cabin 12!” greeted Castor and Pollux as they opened the door to the cabin. You looked inside and saw how lived in the cabin was. It was clear the twins didn't expect to have another sibling and judging by the absolute shock that your shared father was supposed to be stuck in Camp, they really didn't expect him to have another mortal child.   

You also noticed on one of their nightstands there were stacks of Coke and Pepsi, each belonging to one of the beds. There were copious amounts of it, and you wonder if being a child of Dionysus was a prerequisite of having a drink as your go-to drink. Like wine fo Dionysus…though you heard he had to switch to Diet Coke due to his punishment. 

“Yeah, sorry for the whole…mess,” said Castor as he looked sheepish. “Pollux and I weren't expecting anyone else to be here, especially since it's been so long since we've first arrived. And you know, our dad, being, well-”

Pollux cleared his throat, “What Castor means, despite everything, we're thrilled to have a baby sibling. We've always been together so we're not that alone, but every now and again, we kind of get envious of the other cabins and having other siblings.”

You smiled when the door is knocked and a new bunk bed is being brought in, Castor and Pollux grinned at you. “Come on, let's get your stuff and space ready, and let's go see our dad.”

In Wrath of Khan, Spock gifts Kirk "A Tale of Two Cities" in an actual physical copy of the book [very vintage for the 23rd century].

THAT GOT ME THINKING-

How many times did Spock gift Kirk a physical book? Did he restlessly scour for hours trying to find an old copy of a book that he knew Kirk would adore?

I can only imagine Spock, a logical and very composed Vulcan, going slightly insane trying to find bound books just so he can see his captain light up with a smile as Spock gifts it to him.

Which- might I add- is an adorable picture to paint in one's head.

Lister would definitely organise the best surprise birthday parties for all of his friends

Rowan seems like the kind of guy who you could just come to for anything and would give the best advice

Why is Gale Ripped?

Seriously, no shade or shame to the Gale-truthers out there. You all are lovely and your fanart gives me life.

I know that from the conversation in the Stormshore Tabernacle that Gale has supposedly never been nervous before...

THAT BEING SAID I do headcanon that the only reason Gale is ripped is because he is like Chidi Anagonye from The Good Place, and he is, in fact, an anxious soul who does nothing but push-ups (or an aggressive exercise regimen) to combat his stress. Maybe he doesn't even recognize that he is anxious anymore? Maybe he just drops into push ups whenever he has an inkling of nerves and doesn't think anything about it?

I'm just saying that I will happily mod in an idle animation for Gale where he just, at random, begins exercising. Karlach is off to one side doing her jig, and Gale is doing a set of twenty.

(I suggest this as someone who does exercise to help manage my anxiety symptoms; it helps me a bit, but it doesn't always help everyone, and the very fact that I have this lengthy note in parenthesis should tell you EXACTLY how I am feeling right now about sharing this headcanon).

It's kind of fascinating to me that towards the end of P&P, Elizabeth has become protective of Darcy and either a) actively tries to insulate him from Situations or b) wishes that she could and gets stressed that she can't.

Darcy deeply loves her and is very ready to do whatever he can to secure her happiness, but narratively, I think the emphasis at the end is very much more on Elizabeth's protectiveness towards him.

It's like:

When Bingley and Darcy first come back to Hertfordshire, Darcy is very quiet and Elizabeth can barely bring herself to say anything—until Mrs Bennet insults Darcy. Then Elizabeth speaks up.

Mrs Bennet enlists Elizabeth to separate Darcy from Bingley with another insult to Darcy. Elizabeth finds this both convenient and enraging.

That day, Elizabeth decides to privately tell Mrs Bennet about her engagement to Darcy, specifically so that Darcy will be spared Mrs Bennet's first unfiltered response.

Elizabeth fiercely defends Darcy's character and love for her, as well as hers for him, to Mr Bennet. She not only says she loves Darcy but that it upsets her to hear Mr Bennet's criticisms of him.

Elizabeth is both relieved by Mrs Bennet's ecstatic reception of the engagement and a bit disappointed by how completely shallow she's being about it, and 100% sure she made the right call in keeping Darcy away.

Elizabeth defends Darcy against Darcy himself, repeatedly.

There's a period where Elizabeth seems to unwind and laugh, but this passes, especially after Charlotte and Mr Collins show up. Darcy manages to stay calm around Mr Collins (I think this is framed as a significant and admirable achievement for him), but Elizabeth does not like him being in a situation where he has to deal with Mr Collins in the first place.

Elizabeth tries to shield Darcy from being noticed by Mrs Phillips and Mrs Bennet, who do seem to make him pretty excruciatingly uncomfortable.

Ultimately, Elizabeth ends up trying to keep Darcy to herself or to shepherd him around to relatives he can handle more easily, and is so stressed at this point that she just wants to get married and escape to Pemberley.

After their marriage, things are actually great at Pemberley and in their married life, despite the occasional complication.

Lydia writes a congratulatory letter to Elizabeth, asking for Darcy to get Wickham a promotion unless Elizabeth would rather not bring it up with him. Elizabeth really does not want Darcy to have to deal with this and handles it by privately setting aside a Lydia fund out of her personal expenses. (IIRC, it's not clear if Darcy even knows about this.)

Elizabeth also is the driving force behind Darcy's reconciliation with Lady Catherine.

This could read as an unsettling, unbalanced dynamic and a very odd ending point for the arc of a woman like Elizabeth, but in the context of the overall novel, it doesn't feel that way. Or maybe I'd see it more that way if I interpreted Darcy (and for that matter, Elizabeth) + their arcs differently? But as it is, I do think that by this point in the story they are genuinely doing the best they can, independently and for each other, and they've both come a long way. They shine in different contexts and support each other as much as they can in the circumstances that do arise.

It seems very them, in terms of their temperament and abilities, that Elizabeth would put all this effort into shielding Darcy, while at the same time, Darcy completely cuts off Lady Catherine for insulting Elizabeth and only ever speaks to her again because Elizabeth wants him to.

#one of the things that really works about darcy/elizabeth for me is how much they're kind of the apotheosis of each other's types #like the people elizabeth is closest to—jane charlotte and mr bennet #are very different people but they're quiet and private and strong-willed and stubborn and intelligent #and darcy is totally the full throttle version of that type #and darcy is obviously drawn to cheerful outgoing lively charisma bombs with minds of their own #(even in his youth this was kind of true w/ pre-villainy wickham) #(then there's fitzwilliam and bingley and elizabeth herself) #and nobody is more peak that type than elizabeth bennet #they're totally each other's types and like. darcy is blatantly ride or die for elizabeth #while end of the book elizabeth is so far from being intimidated or awed by him that she's sweeping in to save him #in a way that i suspect nobody has really attempted for a long time #anghraine babbles #long post #anghraine's meta #elizabeth bennet #fitzwilliam darcy #otp of otps #(obviously this is particularly endearing w/ the autistic!darcy headcanon) #(neither of them could ever know why he's like that and in their society it's probably for the best that they don't know tbh #but they make it work anyway)

✢ youll usually sit on his lap or have him pressed against your back while his hands guide yours to play some rhythm on the drums .

✢ when you and nick come over to charlie's , tori often times drops tidbits of information on how charlie constantly talks about you .

✢ she often describes that he is , ‘ gooning about you two 24/7 ’ , much to charlie's denial .

✢ ideal dates with these two dont have to be a lot , it could literally just be facetiming .

✢ with that being said , the arcade is a hotspot for your dates . you three are easily familiar faces with the arcade staff , earning the nickname ‘ triple threat ’ .

✢ the mall and the beach are your other favorite spots , since they contain a lot of your favorite memories with the two dorks .

✢ although you dont consider it a date , taking nellie for a walk with charlie and nick are another highly popular event you three do .

✢ although nick is certain you like nellie more than him ( he is , apparently , NOT jealous . )

✢ speaking of jealously , when these two get jealous . . . its a riot .

✢ it doesnt even have to be that big of a deal , it could be an underclassmen asking you to meet them for lunch and they would be throwing up a shit storm .

✢ nick gets WILDLY possessive of you , and will intimidate others off with his signature arm cross paired with a glare .

✢ charlie on the other hand will get extra handsy , holding your hand or clinging onto your arm . he'll even play with your hair occasionally if it gets the point across .

✢ even afterwards when you three are alone ( like say , nick's house or in the locker room ) , theyll still be all over you , kissing you and hugging your ribs to death .

[nick murmuring kisses into your neck] — “ your ours , got it ? ” [y/n] — “ all i told him was i would get the assignment do-, ” [charlie against your back] — “ no talking to other guys ! theyre gonna fall in love with youuu . . . ” [y/n] — “ fine . . . you guys are more than enough anyway . ”

✢ if that certain person who makes them jealous still hasnt gotten the hint . . . charlie and nick take more drastic measures .

✢ like say . . . leaving hickeys barely visible on your collarbone or shoulder area or posting you three on his instagram story .

✢ regardless , youre happy that you get to be theirs , and theyre happy they get to be yours .
