He raises his brows at you, chuckling. “Yeah? That’s why I wanted to help.” He realizes his admission a moment after he’s said it, but can’t bring himself to take it back. “Besides, it really isn’t a big deal for me.” He shrugs, making his way over to the door and tugging it shut to not let the cold inside.

He pauses at your suggestion though, considering it for a moment. “I wouldn’t think you’re weird, it just seems like that’s what something friends would do.” He faces you again. “You sure you want to drink with me? I might start to think you like me or something.” He smirks a little, hoping you know he’s teasing. “It sounds nice, though. As long as you don’t make me drink beer.”

I let out a sigh as he pulls the door closed, pondering over his mixed signals. He really was a hard guy to read. His teasing seemed mostly harmless though and despite the words coming out of his mouth at times, his actions proved that he was more bark than bite.

"You have something against being my friend?" I challenge him playfully. "Roommates, sure but you draw the line at friendship?" His smirk takes me aback though and I fluster a little at his comment about liking him. "That sounds like a you problem." I laugh it off, "I can't control what you think of me." I offer a smile too while digging out my car keys.

"I won't make you drink beer," I promise. "Do you care if I drive?"

SJJASBJA hahdhqhhshab thank you!! My fav characters are actually Atsumu and Suna, i can't choose since their just so relatable to me. And I've already ate and drank water!! The way I immediately thought that probably only Kita has the nine tails then- maybe Aran too, but that’s about it, if you consider how chaotic the rest of them are :,) 

Nine-tailed Kita, keeping the rest of them at bay- give that man a break >.< He’s just waiting for the day when they’re finally getting their nine tails too, so that he can REST. And just cuddle with his goddess alone for one night <3

Snorting, he rolls his eyes, continuing to help you unload your car.

“Hm?” He locks eyes with you for a moment, surprised by your offer before looking down at the boxes in his hands. “Sure, if you want. It’s not a big deal, really.”

He smirks a little, noticing how cute your expressions are when you try to carry a bigger box. “Though I guess it would have taken you all day.” He can’t help himself, he was having fun making little harmless jabs.

Seeing you struggle, he plucks the box out of your delicate hands, “Leave the bigger ones for me. Don’t want you to hurt yourself.” He didn’t mean to say that, but it was too late. Hoping you don’t see the faint blush dusting his cheeks, he spins around and steps toward the door.

“It is a big deal… to me at least!” I heave a box into my arms, looking away shyly when he smirks. “It would’ve taken me all day for sure since your obnoxious rooster friend stood me up.”

I turn to head inside when he suddenly takes the box from me. I blink in shock at my empty arms and then tilt my head at him. Before I can think of a clever retort he’s retreating into the house.

Snatching up a smaller box, I rush into the house after him. With the two of us the unloading doesn’t take too long. The unpacking though… would have to wait.

“You know? I think we’ve earned ourselves more than a pizza today.” I look around at all the boxes with my hands on my hips and then look at him sheepishly. “Would you think I’m weird if I suggested we go out for a drink?”

He waits until you pass him, giving you an annoying grin before getting up and grabbing a larger box from your car, stacking another one on top of it.

“Relax. I was just messing with you.”

He strides past you, placing the boxes beside the others.

“I might be an ass, but I wouldn’t make you do all this by yourself.”

Grabbing and stacking another two boxes, he shoots you an impish grin before making his way to set them down.

I blink in surprise, trying not to seem too impressed when he easily grabs two boxes at a time.

“Messing with me? Well bravo! That was a very convincing performance.”

I snatch up another box and skip along behind him, suppressing an amused smile and feeling grateful he wasn’t all bad after all.

“I really do appreciate the help though. If you don’t already have plans, maybe I can order dinner for us as a way to repay your kindness?”

“Sure you can.”

He walks onto the porch and sits on the lawn chair, hands behind his head as he spreads out. Watching as you walk back to your car, he pulls out his phone, typing a quick message and then pocketing it.

“But when you get tired, all you have to do is say the word.”

He cocks his head to the side, dumb grin on his face, clearly content on waiting it out.

My jaw drops when I turn around to see him kicked back on the porch looking pleased with himself. It was one thing if he was too busy to help, but was he really just going to sit there and watch me?

“Well, I wouldn’t want to inconvenience you.”

I haul another box up the front walk, feeling thankful that I’d tried to pack them light.

“Clearly you have a lot going on right now.”

I raise my eyebrows challengingly at him as I shuffle by, knowing he was clever enough to pick up on the sarcasm.

Giving you a sly grin, he leans against the doorframe as you struggle to carry the large box in your hands to the front of the home you two would be soon sharing. He laughs crossing his arms in front of his chest.

“You know if you just say please, I’ll help you. Wouldn’t want you to hurt yourself.”

His gaze flickers behind you to your vehicle, noting the amount of boxes yet to be unloaded.

“I almost feel bad. Your arms are going to be sore tomorrow.”

Tsking, he moves out of the doorframe, letting you through.

I do my best to ignore the taunting as I hobble up the front steps, concentrating on not dropping the heavy box in my arms. So far, it seemed Tsukki hadn’t changed much since the times we’d crossed paths in the past, so hopefully the decision to move in with him hadn’t been a mistake.

“Well, Kuroo promised to help me today but bailed at the last minute.”

I awkwardly shimmy past him through the door and plop the box down carefully. After taking a second to catch my breath, I turn back to face my new roomie.

“He said he could come help tomorrow but I don’t want to leave my stuff in the car overnight…”

The snarky smirk on his face made it hard to want to ask him for help and dragging him into a job he didn’t agree to might annoy him further. I push up my sleeves and walk back out to grab the next box, determined to get it done.

“Don’t worry, I can handle it.”
