I've now read through the fast-pass episodes, so I thought I'd give some of my thoughts on Nevermore.
Spoilers beneath the cut :)
I was starting to like Annabel Lee up until the thing with Ada. I think the entire sequence really highlights what a selfish person she is and how dumb her entire plan is in reality.
First off, if Annabel was nearly the calculating mastermind she thinks she is, she wouldn't have completely tossed away someone who is obviously incredibly powerful and dangerous when there are definitely ways she could have spun that situation to keep Ada on her side. Now the biggest threat to both Lenore and Annabel's safety was given a clear field to collect that ally and do even more damage.
Second, her behavior in the Bell challenge absolutely shows us that a large part of what this is about is Annabel's love for games. It's really obvious through the behavior of both Ada and the other students that her entire plan for escaping is unnecessary; take out Montresor, Will, and Prospero and pretty much everyone would likely be Lenore and Annabel's allies and those who aren't wouldn't stand a chance against them. The entire "let me win so the others don't see you as a threat lol" was complete bullshit because everyone already sees Lenore as a threat, which Annabel is aware of. Also, sending Montresor after Lenore when he's already threatened her multiple times was the stupidest move she could have made if she wants to actually protect her girlfriend and not let on that they know each other because he literally reads minds.
Moving on, I feel like a lot of people just stop reading whenever Ada shows up because everyone is wildly misinterpreting her actions and just going "help mcs good, hinder mcs evil irredeemable bitch"
Like, the commenters on the newest chapters act like she's been actively chasing after Prospero with no justification, as though Annabel (who is shown to be pretty much the only person Prospero talks to or respects) didn't tell her that he was into her and that he would appreciate her chasing after him! She's a little delusional for still being so into him when he's awful to her, sure, but she actively believes that this is just because he's nervous about showing affection in public and it's shown that Prospero does actually indulge her crush when it serves him. Also based on the flashback, of course she would cling to someone who resembles her past lover, that's probably just how she thinks people who love you act! And then when her only friend completely drops her after the guy Annabel told her had said he was into her says he would literally rather die than be in a room with her, followed up by Annabel calling her a spoiled brat because she didn't get what she wanted (what the actual fuck btw) and sitting there stroking his hair in front of her, of course she immediately clings to the first person who tells her what she's been dying to hear from someone her entire life AND death. Is what she says about Duke fucked up? Yeah, but Duke also constantly makes fun of her and it's not like Duke wasn't ready to let someone he didn't care about die? I hope she goes insane and kills Montresor and then trades rooms with Lenore
Also, I would love to see more of Bernice and Eulalie's backstories. From what I can tell, it looks like Bernice was a flapper girl known for being a drunk who got hit by a car (or possibly murdered by someone trying to assault her, given the person saying they were "just trying to help her home" and making it a point that she was drinking)? And Eula was a Japanese immigrant working for an orphanage that got hate-crimed. I also like the rounding out of Eula's character other than just "creepy girl with wide eyes says and does creepy things". It's obvious that she's very protective of her friends because she couldn't save the kids in the fire. I love her, I want good things for her.
Pluto continues to be my child and I wish everyone in this comic would stop calling him weird for doing literally anything. Also just the fact that he hugs Lenore whenever he sees her 🥹 he's gonna be crushed when he figures out the plan. And standing up to Prospero!!!! That's his roommate and it's gotta be terrifying to think about pissing him off but he still did that for his friends! (Also shout out to Morella. "Oh no I tripped" istg)
I was very surprised that his crush is on Eulalie, and I honestly don't see them getting together? I feel like there's more evidence to suggest that Eula likes Bernice and Pluto likes Duke even if that's not what the authors are intending lol. If they plot twisted it so that Pluto had lied about his crush on Eula I would not be mad
Lenore has definitely moved up to my favorites, and I relate a lot to her backstory (no I was not drugged and locked in an attic before setting fire to my home I promise 😉)
Duke playing out the Cask of Amantillado. Oof. I do think this is going to trigger his Spector, because I'm guessing he died in one of those underwater escape tank things, so being chained up is what was missing from the Thalassophobia trial.
Also someone help Will, he is too nice for that vile snake of a man

More facts on willow!
Willow! I love her so much. Thank you for letting me gush about her, anon. As a reward I will regale you with her backstory and how she met Slender. The backstory may change as I flesh things out though, so a word of warning about that.
Willow (Slenderbeing OC)
Willow's parents weren't very open with her when she was a child.
They always seemed to have secrets and would leave for long stretches without mentioning to her where they were going.
They never neglected her, however, providing her food and teaching her extensively how to defend herself physically but curiously never taught her advanced magic, though they seemed to be able to use it themselves.
She grew up in her parent's territory; a large forest frequented by many feral cryptids. She never left it and only ever knew life inside it.
She had just reached Maturity when her brother was born.
Shortly after, they left him with her and went away.
They never returned. Willow doesn't know what happened to them but prefers to think that they died. She couldn't bear to think that they'd just abandoned them.
So she raised him, never leaving her parent's territory - or rather, her territory now.
Years after her parent's death, food started getting more and more scarce. Fewer humans seemed to be coming through and feral cryptids seemed to be increasing in number.
So she started going to the edge of her territory to find food and keep her brother safe.
She eventually stumbled on a human settlement on the very edge of the forest, large enough that it could supply her and her brother with food for a long time if she played her cards right.
After months of feeding off this settlement she noticed some cryptids - not feral ones, curiously - were trying to enter her territory and take over the human settlement.
So she fought them.
But no matter how many she took down more and more seemed to appear in an almost never-ending barrage.
She was tired, injured and panicked when they'd finally stopped coming. But then he appeared.
She didn't even process that he was one of her own kind when she launched at him, ready to fight and thinking her and her brother's life were on the line.
It was during a lull in their battle that he telepathically asked her why she was doing this. He asked very politely and it threw her off guard.
Why was she doing what? Fighting for her life? For her only food source? Defending her territory?
It sparks a conversation between them. She's tense through the whole thing but he seems calm and collected.
He tells her of The Revolution. About how cryptids have replaced humans as the rulers of the world. About the peace between the cryptids species. About the larger society outside the forest where she doesn't have to be fighting for food or comfort.
She almost doesn't want to believe him but he's so confident and collected and she can detect no sign of deceit in his mind.
He offers her a place in this new world.
She asks how she can trust him. How she can know that this isn't some trick to harm her.
He gives her his word, binding himself to it through magic that she doesn't understand but can sense.
She agrees to go with him.
She takes her brother out of the hollow of the tree she hid him in and follows him out of the forest, out of her territory, out of the only place she ever knew.
It's her first time riding in a car.
She'd almost prefer letting him teleport them all to this 'new world' if she had just an ounce more trust in him.
It's cramped and she has to shrink down to an uncomfortable height to fit. The wheels don't offer much contact with the earth below and because of that she can sense that teleporting from here would be difficult.
Not to mention that he's next to her on the other side of the seat.
They don't say anything to eachother the entire ride. She's tense and her grip on her brother is tight but the boy is too busy looking out of the window to notice.
The forests shrink away, replaced by buildings that increase in height and light's that dazzle the eyes until they're in The City.
It's all so foreign to her. All she's ever known is the forest.
The car stops and he leads the way into one of the buildings where they meet with a woman. Not one of their kind, a different cryptid, but not feral like she knows. He and the woman have a short, vocal conversation that ends in him telling the woman that "no harm is to come to her."
The woman approaches and Willow is on edge but she's all smiles and gentle words as she leads Willow further into the building.
She takes a few steps until she realizes he's not following, so she turns.
He's gone.
What follows is the most confusing night of her life.
The woman is not versed in telepathy so Willow has to use her voice.
This makes things hard since names in her species - their true name - can only be said via telepathy.
The woman is very patient with her and tells her that she'll have to pick a pronounceable name for herself and her brother and even brings out a book of baby names for her to pick from.
The woman gets them 'in the system' and starts explaining everything that will be provided to her by the government and what won't be and classes she'll need to take and how to access this and that and it's overwhelming.
Willow and her brother's presence is affecting the electronics and lights so everything must be done on paper.
Eventually it's day and she's in a small, barely furnished apartment with her brother who's now called Junior with the woman's promise of checking up on her in a few hours ringing in her ears along with the sounds of the city.
Years later she's much more comfortable in the city.
She's working as a waitress in one of the fanciest restaurant / bars in the city. It doesn't pay nearly as well as it should but she's still able to reliably get food and pay for her apartment which is already leagues better than her time out in the forest.
She becomes best friends with one of the live performers at the bar; a siren named Angelica.
Angelica eventually gets a big break a position in a theater performance that she's ecstatic about, so she quits her job, promising that she and Willow would still hang out as much as possible. But not before putting in a good word to the manager about how well Willow can sing.
Willow can change her voice at will, a talent she used to use to lure prey but now she just uses at Karaoke nights with her friends.
She gets put in Angelica's position temporarily until they can find a replacement as while Willow's voice is amazing she's too shy to put on much of a performance visually.
It was at one of her nights performing when he walks in for a business meeting.
She almost chokes.
But it goes almost unnoticed as most people in the room are just as stunned. The business meeting happens in a private room but it goes on long enough that they're closing up by the time they leave.
The other's he's with leave first, clearly agitated with something.
She hesitates only a second before approaching him, nervous that he'll teleport away before she can say anything.
She reaches out telepathically, apologizing for interrupting him first before continuing.
"I don't know if you remember me but..."
She thanks him for bringing her and her brother to The City, telling him about how much better life is and how grateful she is.
He doesn't interrupt her, but when she's done talking...
He asks her on a date.

Because I'm hella curious, how would a Genocide and/or Pacifist route work in Can I Keep You's Swapfell Universe?
Mc and Mutt are together 24/7 in CIKY, so they'd be together for both routes and encountering the human together.
In the Pacifist route, they'd be able to see Chara hasn't killed anyone so they'd be reluctant to kill them. Though Chara wouldn't know that Mc is a human unless pulled into an Encounter, which neither she or Mutt are supposed to initiate. So it's likely that Chara would be able to pass them without much problems, like Sans in game. They do have to inform Black about Chara's presence though, but Mc would give Chara some vague advice about being careful around here. They'd meet Chara again at the edge of town and warn them again about the dangers, specifically Black and Alphys. But otherwise not much happens.
Warning for the Genocide route. Does contain death.
In the Genocide route, things largely stay the same in the beginning. Except that Mutt and Mc see that Chara has killed other monsters, though they're not largely surprised or shocked by this. They'll mostly keep quiet around the human, stay out of their way like Black told them to. Mc may still give some very vague warning about what's up ahead and a piece of advice to think hard about what they're doing, but that's it. She doesn't have much sympathy for Chara here and is indifferent about if they die or not.
Mc and Mutt will keep an eye on Chara as they go about their way, then meet them again at the edge of Snowdin. Where Chara would initiate a fight. Mutt would try to protect Mc here, keeping her from the battle, and stop Chara from going any further, but he fails and is dusted. Mc's in shock for a few seconds, but then enraged and attacks Chara herself. This lasts a bit longer then Chara and Mutt's battle, just because they're both Humans with LV, and Mc's mostly hoping to stall Chara until Black arrives, but she does end up going down herself because of her grief.
This would be where Black finds them, after quite a bit of time searching a desolate Snowdin for any sign of them or the human. And you can just imagine how enraged he would be.

Okay so we love fluffy relationship fics and we love well done fics about alters in the same system, but we rarely have the energy to write out full fics… Thoughts on fluff prompts for in-system relationships (of any sort), coming from a dissociative system?
