because i am insane

anne: she likes classic scents for her perfumes, like chanel no. 5.

catherine: a subtly floral scent, but overpowered by the smell of dirt. it’s a nice fresh scent that reminds you of laying down in the grass.

claude: he doesn’t have a strong scent, but if you get close enough, he smells faintly of clean laundry.

darius: very strong overpowering smell of cologne. walking behind him will give you a headache.

donovan: he does not smell great, unfortunately. all that time in the sewers has given him a slightly musty smell, but his charm makes up for it.

iris: she smells like a freshly brewed cup of jasmine tea.

jun: he smells like old books that have been in the library for a long time, waiting for someone to leaf through them.

kai: he smells salty, like the fresh ocean breeze. it’s a comforting smell. there’s also some kind of light musky smell, like sandalwood, that grounds you.

kitty: she smells like some kind of rose shampoo, not a particularly strong scent but very fresh and soft.

liam: fresh bread from the bakery, with a hint of sweetness. if his scent was a food, it’d be a raspberry danish.

lucia: she has a cinnamon-y, spicy smell that makes you feel awake. there’s a couple other scents mixed in there as well, such as other spices and apple.

lynn: she smells like a home-cooked meal, like mashed potatoes at a family dinner. there’s a lingering smell of metal that you can quickly get used to.

nathaniel: a heavy, meaty smell lingers around him.

vaan: it’s a misty smell, of wet moss and wildflowers. it reminds you slightly of after it rains, in a field of flowers.

wesley: the sticky sweet smell of honey follows him around. there’s also the scent of some kind of animal, presumably the griffin?

wornhardt: he smells like the clear sky and grass. when he puts on his gloves and coat, they smell a tiny bit sterile, like hand sanitizer or bleach.

xyla: she uses some kind of sweet perfume that smells like candy. it’s an addicting smell.

Lee (Palefire)

Lee knows what 'Kissing' is, and has no interest in giving anyone one.

But, if he were to kiss you, he would do it discreetly.

It's just a quick small peck, but because he does it so hastily, Lee often would miss the initial target area.

Isn't stubborn about just missing a few cm off your cheeks, lips, or forehead. Etc.

Because he feels embarrassed and wants to end it quickly. He would avoid eye contact as he gets 'overheated' .

Tells you to keep this encounter a secret from others.

His kisses feels light and soft.

Murray will be jealous

Qu (Pavo)

If you ask for kisses politely, Qu would put it into consideration.

Believes a kiss from her is to be earned and won't give it to anyone that easily.

Although, when the criteria is met and the time is right, Qu would kiss you.

She would slowly come closer and give the kiss on the forehead first.

Next time it would be your ears, nose, and jawline. Etc. Slowly working up to the lips

Her movements are slow, and she lingers her kisses a little bit.

Lucia (Lotus)

Gets flustered when she thinks about it. Lucia is not used to being intimate with someone.

It would take a while for her to agree to give a kiss.

Having read about kissing in this one particular book, Lucia would need a little bit of time to psych herself up.

Whenever Lucia does something she does it diligently, this includes kissing.

She would give it on the cheek, a small decent kiss.

Doesn't have anything else added to her kiss. It would just be a simple one that is enough for her. Because she will get too embarrassed.

Will only do it when no one is watching.

Watanabe (Nightblade)

Kissing is the last thing on his mind.

Watanabe has no time and interest in these things. Because he believes right now is not the time to indulge in personal desires.

But, if his dreams were to come true, in a field full of flowers, he will then finially indulge in the act of kissing.

In his M. I. N. D, he pictures himself would give soft and gentle kisses.

But in reality, he never did something like this before and it ended up being a bit rough and awkward.

Watanabe would ask for advice from others so that next time it would be a better experience.

Chrome (Archlight)

"A kiss...?" Chrome repeated the request. He only has a look of confusion, but other than that he does not react.

More so, he does a good job suppressing his feelings on that matter. It's unprofessional to think of these things while on duty.

But he would ruminate on that thought until his duty ends.

His kisses are warm and gentle, treating you like glass. Chrome will never go rough.

He would give it on the forehead and that's pretty much how far he would go. Anything more than that he might lose control and get flustered.

Camu (Crocotta)

Hates any physical contact because of his past, this includes kissing.

He's insecure about his current state, and how he can easily infect others with the virus if not for the serums.

He would kiss you if he sees it as a challenge; does it to prove a point.

His kisses are rough and aggressive and can leave you breathless and messy with drool.

Despite that, if Camu were to kiss you on his terms, it's surprisingly light. Because he cares.

Would go for another peck if you weren't looking.

Promare has recently consumed my life, so have some Promare character headcanons.

I think that Galo and Lio were actually born in the same year, with Lio only being a couple months older. They're both in their early twenties. Like, very early twenties. Just barely out of high school kind of early.

Galo and Lio are both orphans. Lio has been on the run since his Burnish awakening as a kid. He doesn't remember it very well, but he does remember his parents were wealthy, and impressed upon him the importance of appearances and propriety. He knows his parents died, but he doesn't remember the details of it. Since Lio went off the grid so young, he never got much in the way of a formal education. Lio is sharply intelligent, but he always draws a blank at school-related knowledge like math, history, science, etc. That sort of stuff is actually pretty boring to him. Lio does like to read, though, and has a surprisingly expansive vocabulary given his lack of a formal education.

Galo was raised in the foster system. He doesn't know what happened to his parents, but he never really cared to figure out. It was never something that really mattered to him. He was happy enough with his various foster families, and was lucky enough to have pretty good foster families all things considered. But all this does mean that Galo never really had much in the way of family. Galo also has a couple of learning disabilities, like ADHD and dyslexia, which made school more than a bit of a nightmare for him. He was held back a year in school before inevitably dropping out. Not too long after that, he entered into the firefighting academy, where Kray promptly placed him in Burning Rescue, despite having next to no former experience and very little training. By the time we see him in the movie, he's been working with Burning Rescue for a little under a year. He's the youngest member of Burning Rescue, with Lucia being only a year older than him, and Aina being two years older than him.

Galo and Lio are both hopeless in all areas of pop culture knowledge.

Lio is pansexual while Galo is gay.

Aina and Heris lost their parents when they were in their teens. Heris is about 7 years older than Aina, so when their parents passed away while Aina was still in high school, Heris stepped up to take care of her. They're the two most important people in the world to each other, as well as the only family they have left, so they cling to each other like no one else. Heris especially clings to Aina more than Aina clings to Heris. Aina was able to find family in Burning Rescue while Aina is all that Heris has left, and she would happily watch the world burn if it meant that she could still have Aina at the end of it all. There is a bit of a codependency issue between the two of them, an issue that Aina is slowly but surely growing out of, due to finding love and support in the other Burning Rescue members.

Aina was definitely a troubled, rebellious teenager. She listens to grunge and rock music and got into plenty of fistfights during her time in school. You cannot tell me this girl didn't have a punk phase in highschool. She gives Galo shit for not knowing when to hold his tongue, but she has just as much of a problem with talking back to authority figures if she thinks something is wrong.

Lucia has experience in coding and has a degree in engineering.

Remi is definitely a vegan. He's also half Malaysian, as well as trilingual. Galo calls him "blind" to tease him for how bad his vision is without his glasses.

Varys grew up in a big family with a small army of younger siblings that he helped his parents take care of. He's a seasoned caretaker, and by far the best babysitter. He's also an amazing cook.

Lio loves spicy food and could probably bite into a ghost pepper without breaking a sweat, while Galo has an almost pitiably weak heat tolerance and can barely stand too much pepper in his eggs.

Meis and Gueira are in their early thirties. They met up with Lio a couple years before the events of the movie, and Meis and Gueira have been with each other for basically their whole lives.

Severus Snape

the hat was torn between Hufflepuff & Slytherin for this man. on one hand, he’s like super loyal (esp. to first friend), but like the overwhelming ambition to leave his past and world behind is what made him a Slytherin

this boy is a heathen with books. any & all books will be subscribed to heavy annotations and use, so much that he needs to purchase his own copies.

he doesn’t like engulfing touches (so like hugs, kisses, anything of sort is a no no), but he doesn’t mind proximity. so like leaning on him? is fine.

we all know he was a genius in both potions and DADA, but herbology?? this man has the greenest thumb anyone’s ever seen. + his knowledge of botany and flower meanings are vast.

he’s fast. like he’s skinny as a mf twig, but somehow, he’s fast at sprints. even Lucia, who works out regularly with fencing and martial arts, loses to him.

he’s so good at mental gymnastics. like something doesn’t make sense? he’ll twist and bend until that concept absolutely does. this is why he’s the only one who can acc study the longest in his friend group.

her use of grammar in the english language is atrocious. she mashes 2020s united states language with her very limited knowledge of the UK’s english. it’s not very good.

she absolutely forgoes sciencey classes (potions, astronomy, charms, transfiguration, etc.) & leans into the history and linguistics aspect. she knows about seven languages by the time she’s 14 and adds a few more by 17.

the duality of this person cannot be highlighted. even snape’s mental gymnastics isn’t enough to keep up with her smh. she’ll go from a god-manipulator to a person who’s not getting enough oxygen in her head. her moods are also extremely volatile, going from energetic to quiet although that period varies.

she made the hat cry about her conflicting personality at the ceremony. she uses that to scare the other students.

because she was a nineteen smth y/o in an eleven y/o body, she had 0 fear talking back to the teachers. granted most of them were confusing questions, but still. Flitwick loves her. Slughorn does not.

she bet a match with Francis Phantomhive and lost, and then, subsequently loses continuously, but her skill with a cylindrical weapon is unmatched.

b/c she wrote this AU version of HP, she’s constantly writing every detail down b/c she didn’t really write this part of the era & now, she wants to “try” and save people she can. the Room of Requirement is her HQ for every single plotline (think Anderson from BBC Sherlock).

Background

Born to two paladins of Selune, Lucia was raised to be a hero, to put others before herself, as soon as it was clear she had inherited her fathers divine powers. They never stayed in one place for long, always roaming, helping people in need. 

When she was 11, her mother disappeared. She’d gone to help an adventuring party, and neither or the rest of her party ever came back. Then, when Lucia was 16, she lost her father in a fight with Sharrans. She vowed then and there to always follow in their footsteps, to never waiver in the fight against the darkness and to always stand for the light.

Since then, she’s been wandering, occasionally with a party, but mostly alone. Using her skills as a paladin and an aasimar to protect people who can’t protect themselves.

FFXIV Ladies Hug Headcanons

Lucia

Well, she isn't one who hugs often. When she does, it's a quick hug. should she be feeling a bit generous, maybe the hug would last a while longer.

Lyna

She gives a good self hug. Honestly she wouldn't want to ask for hugs. She wants to show that she's strong. But when she does ask for a hug, it's a long one. It's a bit of a comfort for both of you. She appreciates that you wait until she pulls away.

Lyse

If she sees you as a dear friend, she absolutely runs at you with her arms open wide. When you catch her, she wraps her legs around you and laughs as you try to regain your balance without dropping her. She hugs you like a koala and always tells you how nice it is to see you.

Minfilia

Her hugs are the best. She wraps her arms around you and squeezes just enough. It's like greeting a friend or family member that you've known and loved your entire life. Her hugs are ones you would treasure forever.

Moenbryda

She is the queen of hugs. Big warm, tight bear hugs are her forte. She would always be hugging you if you allowed her. There is just something so healing about hugs and she knows that they help you. That is all she could hope for.

She would definately hug you from behind, hands either wrapping around your waist or shoulders. She kinda surprises you sometimes with a hug because you don't hear her footsteps. Errands. Errands were on your mind for quite a while. You have been putting it off for quite some time. It's not usual for you to skip running errands, but things were getting rather hectic lately in the base.

You heard rumors from some people, that the higher ups, higher than the head of council, Nikola, was coming in for an inspection/visit at the base. You don't know what the exact details were, but all you know is that, being the Commandant of the Grey Raven Squard, they put you in charge of approving proposals and requests for the big day.

Hence, being pulled left and right, you barely have time to do some simple shopping for yourself. You know you need to do something about it soon, walking along the corridor you bumped into...

Lucia (Lotus)

You bumped into her while having your brows furrowed, looking stress.

She notices it quickly and asks, "Commandant, are you alright? Is there something bothering you?"

"ah, Lucia... You see I have been so busy with approving paper work... I don't have time to run errands." you said, feeling a little embarrassed.

You know Lucia will 100% help.

So, she offers run errands for you.

She's got the shopping list and black card, makes her way to town.

It would take her a while to bring the shopping back because, she's kinda distracted by the window displays.

If Lucia sees something she likes/wants, she does fight the urge.

She keeps telling herself, "I am only here to do Commandant's errands."

She will manage on her own. :)

Bianca (Zero)

Bianca noticed how you are pacing back and forth. She remember hearing people pointing out how hectic your schedule became.

She goes up to you and asks what's wrong.

"oh... It's not a big deal... Just... My daily supplies are running low, but I just Don t have time to restock." you said sheepishly.

Bianca sees no problem in helping you out.

She is one of the constructs where you can trust her with your black card.

Gets the shopping done really easily.

She might buy more stuff if it's related to the item in your errands list.

Because, you also need something like a fabric softener to go with the detergent. Or a full set facial

Chrome (Arch light)

You spotted him and quickly pulls him aside.

You asked, "Hey Chrome, you are not busy, are you?"

"Well... I still have to finish up the report for the Co op mission... But I can spare some time if you request." anything for you, Commandant.

You task Chrome to run your errands and trusts him with your black card.

One might think, Chrome is good with this, right?

Well guess what, he takes the task so seriously that might as well take him a whole day to finish shopping.

Get's stress over the type, brand, size, and colour of the products. He doesn't know which one your would prefer, uses or like.

So, he ends up buying all of them.

"Commandant, I don't know which one you like, so I bought every single one of them. "

Chrome doesn't think he wasted money as long as it matters to you. And, buying 10+ different fabric softener matters.

Needless to say, you stopped asking Chrome to do your shopping.

Watanabe (Night blade)

If you tell him what's troubling you. For sure he will low key tell you off for not managing your time well.

Despite that, Watanabe would help you out. He takes your black card and hastily get's the shopping done.

Honestly, it won't take him long because he doesn't really look at brands. He might look at the type and functionality but that's pretty much it.

Unlike Bianca, he does the bare minimum.

He just buys everything on the list.

After returning everything to you, Watanabe reminds you once more about time management and he's only doing this for you once.

Changyu (Qilin)

He hears you are in need of an errand boy. So, he decidces to take the job.

"yo, Commandant! I heard you are in need of some assistance."

He proposed to do the shopping for you for a fair commission fee.

You have no choice, but to pay up front.

Takes his sweet time with the shopping. Probably use that money he earned to buy what he wants first.

If he sees something in the list along the way, he will buy it.

But not before looking at the price tags.

Quite stingy. He can't believe it costs so much for a roll of paper towels. That hurted him personally.

There are two ways he can do this: 1. Just buy it. It's not his money anyway. 2. Go get a cheaper alternative and haggle his way.

Since you paid him, he takes it seriously. It's a job after all.

He haggles for the cheapest price.

You end up saving a lot of money, but are using some off brand products.

What kind of love are you?

Love As Youth Your love is buoyant. Your love is bountiful. It is ageless, and it will never age. When you fall in love, it is breathless. It is joyful and endless, it is magnificent. You think it, like your youth , will last forever. Youth is eternal, and so is your love. Your love skips rocks and tells stories, your love roasts marshmallows over fires, and laughs freely. Your love does not take itself too seriously. Your love is jumping into puddles just to watch the water splash, and dancing in the rain, and it is watching Sunday morning reruns of cartoons to feel young once more. Your love is forever, forever young. Being loved by you is to be loved by the summer months. And those never end, do they? Well, I won’t tell if you don’t.

Who/What inspired my muses

I can’t believe I’m doing this oh it’s going to suck so much

Part 1 because it got long because I’m wordy

Veritas: In high school I was friends with two “the art kids”. I, meanwhile, was the bookworm/writer. We all thought it’d be fun to make a comic, them drawing and me writing the dialogue, so we all said we’d come up with characters from it. Mine ended up being an elf who wore long swishy skirts and fought with dual blades and one of them drew out the design for me. The comic, haha, never got far but when I got interested in doing Tumblr rp I looked at that initial oc idea and reworked it into Veritas. The only real remnants of that origin is, well, elf. And her two swords. But I mean, my interest in fleshing out my brand of elves led to what is what I actually consider a big part of my blog-- my elves. So a lot stemmed from that initial, silly and fun idea between three kids. I’m actually still best friends with one of those girls to this day!

Vendere: My second attempt at making a less morally pure muse after my real second-but-now-removed muse Tamashi ended up nice despite my wishes. I can’t say much of the thought process behind Ven other than his name being a continuation of a Latin theme I had started with Veritas and decided to keep going, which you will continue to see later on too. The only thing I can remember is choosing his name because it was the Latin verb for “to sell”, because info broker, and because I went, “Haha and I can call him V.en like in K.ingdom H.earts.” A lot of big brain ideas going on back when I was sixteen, of which I can’t even make jokes because I’ve done it again with muses fairly recently. In retrospect it makes no sense why his Italian parents would name him that but thus is my 16-year-old-idea oc burden to bear.

Jianhuren: My first muse who I added with the intent to have a bit of a storyline going! I also! Can’t remember why I got the idea for a form shifting person who  was an amnesiac. I’m fairly certain it was an idea that came straight out of my head. At the time, I hadn’t even intended to make a species of dragons, the Red Eyes from them. So it’s kind of why they may seem a bit different in feel or canon or themes or whatever from the other Red Eyes. We were winging it, baby!!

Somnio: Oh my gosh I can’t say I’ll do this and keep saying I don’t remember for these muses! I’m sorrrryyyy these were like a good six or so years ago! I think inspiration. I think maybe the feeling of days and friends gone/soon to be gone from Summertime Record inspired him regarding his feelings towards his dead friend? At the very least, I was listening to that song a lot when I added him and I was definitely thinking of him when I did it. The “Sayonara” part always really stuck out to me.

Amara: Me: What if I did a phoenix. Me: Oh, I see phoenixes in this sense have been pointed at from coming from either or both Greek and Egyptian myth let’s make both of those his background as a fun little easter egg. Me: what if I made a muse so tragic--

Qingshan: Here we see Red Eye lore starting to take more shape! Originally I had just said that Jianhuren was attacked by a monster or something, but I then had a thought of what if it were a betrayal and the monster story is just what was told? A lot of Qingshan’s vibes and the idea to do an evil or “bad” muse came from listening to Sacrifice from Rwby! Since I had just recently gotten into it. And I mean, the music rocks. Wait.....the lyrics never quite fit Qingshan at the time but now I’m realizing they fit Zhaohui well.... hm.

Ren: More desire to expand upon my elf lore that I had started with Veritas. And a desire to touch more on the trafficking issue that elves face. Then I just thought it’d be cool to give a muse the powerset of basically the Avatar-- with setbacks.

Kareena: You know me, I’m always going to look at a predominantly white-assumed category and go, “how can I make this more Brown(tm)? Elves are always so stereotypically white in the media I saw, and I’ve always had a desire to see myself represented in fantasy genres I love so much. Veritas was actually supposed to be brown, but she was my first oc and I couldn’t find a fc that fit what I imagined for her and had brown skin, I just changed it to match her fc. Now, I clearly don’t care, haha. Anyways, Kareena was me wanting to make a brown elf, and also a differently abled one too, and I settled on her being blind. I thought it’d be an interesting study since elves have heightened and stronger senses, and here was someone who was born without one. I will say, she wasn’t perfect representation at the time, since I unknowingly fell into a bad trap of “blind person uses super senses to get around anyways with no issue”, which is something I learned later that a lot of blind people don’t like to see in media about visually impaired people! The importance of doing research beforehand, kids. Especially if you’re writing of a culture, lifestyle, or experience you haven’t lived.

William/Thanatos: .......................ok.........I don’t...........remember, sorry. To explain a little, “Thanatos” actually existed on my blog as a man named William O’Connor! A man who had died but still lived on by some raw accidental deal made by his mom to some sort of death-like entity. I only remember that I was thinking on him back when I was in another state visiting by undergrad for like the first time? And Gen Con was going on and I had like just stuck my toe into C.ritical R.ole, but I don’t know if any of that actually influenced William. Anyways, I had no intention to actually ever state or clarify what “Death” was as I intended for It to just be some sort of amalgamation of different interpretations of Death. But later on I thought it’d open up for some more interesting opportunities if I put a name to the thing and had it able to interact and do a little more. Maybe a bit before Dawn came around, for reasons?

Lucia: I had mentioned in Ren’s backstory that he ran with a group of elves when he was a kid on the streets and I’d already established another, Aeon (who’s now a side muse) so I thought it’d be fun to pick out who their de facto leader was. And I thought it’d be funny if she seemed like the least intimidating-looking person ever, but absolutely was the leader of them all for good reason. I then picked up my “angsty backstory” hammer, and I then gave her a prompt solid whack with it.

Alexa: “Okay, so I touched on the elf trafficking, but what if I did what happened when one was successfully trafficked?” Et voila. 

Val: ‘Kristen, you just added Alexa, and sure you established she has a partner but you don’t need to full on add him as a muse-- oh no how did he get on my muse page.’ Alexa and Val are also meant to be foils in the way they deal with their servitude, with Alexa having given in and Val still being rebellious. Plus, I just love non-romantic soulmates. Mwah.

Imani: “I want a Black muse. An unambiguously Black muse. Make her an elf too while I’m at it.” I love sibling dynamics and I’m a sucker and wimp for older sibling dynamic stories too so that also came into play with her and her younger brother.
