foxtrot does show physical affection in relationships, but it takes a long time for him to feel comfortable with it. physical affection also tends to easily fluster him. this is partly due to his hesitance surrounding physical contact in general, but another big part of this is how he identifies with the demiromantic label. he only feels romantic feelings for someone when he feels a deep emotional connection with them. for this reason, displays of physical affection that are typically seen as romantic — such as hand-holding or kissing — feel hugely meaningful to him, because it represents that rare emotional bond. his perception of these gestures is why he tends to hesitate when it comes to offering them and why they fluster him so much in general (his mind is still like !!!! baffled by the fact he feels this bond in the first place).
